Asuen Ighodalo is our next governor elect, come September 2024. All the indices of Edo politics are just favoring him. Ok let's look at all the odds one by one.
1. JOB CREATION: Asuen Ighodalo with his Okomu palm oil company, Sterling bank Plc, etc made him the highest job creator among all the Edo governorship candidates.
2. INTERNAL PARTY SUPPORTERS: Asuen Ighodalo is the candidate with the strongest internal party supporters, the only disgruntled party member of the Edo PDP that is against his candidacy is Philip Shaibu which is inconsequential. But the other candidates have heavy weight politicians that can make them to loose the upcoming election. In Labour party Olumide Osaigbovo Apata is wrestling against the authentic and fake national chairman of the party, Olumide Osaigbovo Apata was even fingered in the humiliating arrest of Julius Abure, Kelly Ogbaloi and four other party chieftains of the party few days to the party primary. On the other hand Lamidi Apapa is using all his resources to bring down Olumide Osaigbovo Apata by hook or crook. Furthermore you have Monday Okpebholo who the strongest politicians of of Edo APC are against, you have the likes of Adams Oshiomole, Tony Kabaka, Dennis Idahosa, kassim Afegbua etc.
3. NAME: In politics your name can make you go far or it can stunt your success. The name Asuen is more of a Bini (Edo south) name, while Ighodalo is more of Esan (Edo central), the combination of the PDP candidate's first and surname will spur him to success, by earning him votes from all over Edo state. But the name of the Labour party candidate is in a sorry situation, the name Olumide is more Yoruba than Edo, Akpata is more Yoruba than Edo. One would even think he is from Akoko Edo, but the name Osaigbovo negates the two other names, making people to have the impression that he is a foreigner in Edo south because the only great person that the name Apata can be traced to in Edo state is Tayo Apata and this also buttress the Yoruba theory, thereby leading Edo people to the popular saying that "Edo nor be Lagos". To cap it all we have the APC candidate Monday Okpebholo who has a single agenda since 2020 to develop only Edo central (Esan) when he becomes governor. His name Okpebholo will no doubt fetch him some few votes from only Edo central.

One thing I love about Monday is his dual experience in both public and private sectors.my personal research shows that people worked in both sectors are likely to make better leaders don't.asue has never been in government/ public service same as akpata.you can see obaseki with his private sector experience.akpabio,Donald Duke,oshiomhole, fashola,dankwambo,El rufai,soludo,otti,amosun,ibori,goje,late alams,chime,umahi etc...most importantly he is an entrepreneur,a self made man.he has his own companies and learnt from some of the best politicians like anenih.

Asuen is currently in government, he worked under Oshiomole and he is currently chairman of the Edo Investment Summit aka Alaghodaro. Asuen is also the man with a very deep pocket, he is the chairman of Sterling bank, and has also created thousands of jobs in Nigeria and Edo with his Okomu palm oil company. Note that Oshiomole will never fail Asue because he instrumental to his success as governor.

There is no crisis in Edo PDP, Philip Shaibu is about to end his political career, he is fighting against Edo people in general not PDP, because the people of Edo are civilized to zone the government house to Edo central for equity and fairness... The national chairman of PDP is the empowered by law to submit names of party flagbearers. If Shaibu can manipulate the national chairman then he can become the valid candidate else he is just a dot in a circle. One thing that will knock out Shaibu in court is that he never participate in the original primary.

The only reason Oshiomole is fighting for Dennis Idahosa is because Idahosa is a tested and trusted election rigger, and he also knows all the tactics of the PDP in Edo state. Idahosa was able to rig out Omosede Igbinedion, the daughter of the Esama of the Universe and also sister to former governor Lucky Igbinedion twice in 2019 and 2023, it's not easy. Idahosa was the campaign manager and right hand man and rigger that brought Omosede Igbinedion to power as a member representating ovia federal constituency in 2015. In southern Nigeria prostitution is not a crime or an offence, but in Northern Nigeria prostitution is prohibited, Southern Nigeria uses Criminal Code, while Northern Nigeria use Penal Code (Sharia law). There are multiple evidence of fraud against this dead man. Those politicians mourning are crying because their monies (stolen public funds) with the dead man can't be easily recovered. It is even hard to retake over your ill-gotten wealth when the person you gave the money to is still alive not to talk a dead man...The $9 billion case between Allison Madueke vs Lawal-Dare Dauda is an example, in situations like this you can take legal actions, you can only cry and mourn else "fowl yansh go open"
