No. In the outer part of our solar system. Here is an example from nasa website:

ooman: Thank you for your questions, i like your persistence

? 1. Rather than have one copy of its genome, it has what we can call 1 and a half, only radiodurans is known to have this number of genome. Now once the complete genome disintegrate, which is what is called "clinically dead" which means disintegration of genome beyond repair and which is what happens in all animals and humans when they are said to be dead, the half (that is in the cell but does not take part in metabolism)patches up the genome that makes protein and hey presto, you have life again, spontaneously meaning there is no "who" making it, it resurrects by itself in some 2 - 3 hours.
what you dont get is that, if there was a spirit in life forms, this would not be possible.

? 2. That is what is amazing about this bacterium, when it dies, it can resurrect or wake up or restart mitosis, anyway you understand it.

Now this proves that there is no spirit in life forms, we are only blood and flesh, there is no spirit in man that will go to heaven or hell. Since God is a spirit, this also proves that he doesnt exist. Got it?
hahahahaha... Now that is hillarious.
'A unicellular organism has no spirit that goes to heaven or hell' automatically translates to 'there is no spirit in lifeforms'? Lmao.

First of all, I believe the spirit is our life force, present in all living things. I do not believe in an immortal soul, but that's besides the point.

The fact that those actions happen when it is supposedly 'dead' only shows there is more to it than meets the eye.

Someone once said atheists are more logical than theists. You prove them wrong everytime.

Does that bacteria have a brain? No.
Does it think? No.
Can it talk or post on nairaland? No.

By your own (il)logic, is it safe to assume there are no creatures who can do the above.

Mehn, you are funny grin grin grin.

That is still no proof bro. Science is restricted only to the physical, so do not expect to see a spirit with your microscope when you have not even seen the force of gravity which you believe in.

I do not want to deviate into metaphysics with you, as I am not impressed with your power of logical reasoning yet. If there is any thing I can grab from this thread, it is the fact that atheists' sense of logic is seriously flawed.

Like your fellow atheists, you have not proved that God does not exist.

ooman: Well you seem not to check the right place, see this

Fifty years ago, scientists uncovered a microbe capable of withstanding radiation in canned meat that had been bombarded with gamma rays. Named Deinococcus radiodurans — or "strange berry that withstands radiation" — the microorganism can survive doses of radiation up to 500 times that which would kill a human. These doses shatter D. radiodurans's DNA — just as they would in a human — but the microbe can repair its broken DNA , and spring back to life within hours, depending on the dose. Researchers in France have finally determined how the most durable of extremophiles manages this trick. "We have discovered the mechanism by which a clinically dead cell resurrects back to life," explains Miroslav Radman of INSERM, France's public biomedical research institution. "This extreme radiation resistance is but a by-product of its selection for resistance to desiccation."

on scienceandreason..com/2006/10/self-resurrecting-bacteria.html

now how about that for a prove against your God?
I hope you took note of the wordings used, 'the microbe can repair its broken DNA', and not just the words of the scientist. That phrase denotes internal activity.

Years ago, scientists made bogus claims, many believed in the piltdown man, and I am sure many ardent followers like you quoted them.

Your bolded quote is as effective as my using the bible to convince you of anything.

Let me add the other parts you cunningly left out of your post:

" It turns out there are two stages to this process. In the first stage, the short fragments of (single-stranded) DNA are gradually reassembled into longer and longer pieces, until they are complete again. This is possible at all only because of the unique structure of DNA — DNA segments will stick together only when they have precisely matching base sequences in common. The process is facilitated in bacterial DNA by an enzyme called DNA polymerase I. The enzyme is encoded by a gene known as polA, which is present in all prokaryotes.
However, the DNA polymerase I found in D. radiodurans apparently performs its job much more efficiently than its analogue in other bacteria. This natural process is similar to the laboratory process known as polymerase chain reaction (PCR), which also uses a polymerase enzyme.
But it's the second stage that is really special in D. radiodurans, and which has just been elucidated in the latest research: ... single long strands of DNA do little to resurrect the microorganism until the second stage of the newly discovered process kicks in: the simple pairing discovered by Watson and Crick decades ago — adenine (A) bonds with thymine (T), and cytosine (C) bonds with
guanine (G). By inserting a special
version of the nucleotide thymine
that only binds to single strands of DNA — known as 5- bromodeoxyuridine — the researchers could observe as the
single strands bonded with complementary strands to form
complete chromosomes. "Once the
chromosome is functional, the
synthesis of all cellular components starts, and the cellular life is back," Radman says. "

1st question (hope you answer this): How does a 'clinically dead' microbe manage to resurrect itself?
Chance? No?

2nd question: If it can perform those actions, why is it tagged 'dead'?

Your bacteria example simply survives desiccation and radiation, and repairs itself. That is not 'resurrection'. Your quote does nothing to prove otherwise.

Even if it can rightly be termed resurrection, how is that proof there is no God? huh

Lmao. Atheists only pretend to be guided by logic.
Christianity Etc › Re: You're Too Insignificant To Claim There Is No God. by Oahray: 7:23pm On Dec 21, 2012
ooman: Well you didnt google completely. Radiodurans are tough for real but the only thing different about them is that they can "resurrect". This proves that there is no spirit in living things that gives life . Death means degeneration of genome, life means complete sequence of genome. Got it?
The bolded is yet another attempt at proof with fraudulent means. The Deinococcus radiodurans does not 'resurrect' by any stretch of that word.

It is simply highly resistant to radiation and and desiccation (extreme drying), that is why it is tagged the world's toughest bacterium.
It also has a unique quality in which it can repair both single and double-stranded DNA. When a mutation is apparent to the cell, it brings it into a compartmental ring-like structure, where the DNA is repaired and then is able to fuse the nucleoids from the outside of the compartment with the damaged DNA.

Is that what resurrection means?
The bacteria simply survives very tough conditions. Desiccation is not death.

Where your conclusion is based on a flawed premise, your whole argument is unsound.

You have not provided the slightest of proof of your claim of the non-existence of God. Try harder.

Lovethywilbedon: PLEASE CAN YOU TELL ME SOME EXPERIMENTS THAT PROVED THAT THERE IS NO GOD. I googled the Radiodurans and it says that it is simply a bacterium that made the Guinness Book of Records as the world's toughest bacterium and I don't see how this proves the non existence of God just as the world's highest mountain "Everest" doesn't prove the non existence of God.
Its no use. He has no proof.
No atheist or evolutionist has proof of non-existence of a Creator. They simply deny proof of existence. Too bad they do not know that its not the same thing. Illogical minds, all of them.
The ones on nairaland are just clueless followers.
Christianity Etc › Re: You're Too Insignificant To Claim There Is No God. by Oahray:
ooman: You compare the existence of the brain to God's. Well tell you what, take an X-ray scan of your head, you'd see your brain. What scan must i take to see your God?
the same kind of scan you would need to see gravity and air.

People have had experiences that reinforced their belief in God and the supernatural.

That is like taking a scan.
You havent had such experiences, so you do not believe in God or people who claim they have.

Well, I also believe you havent had a brain scan either. So why do you believe you have a brain? Why do you believe other people who have had scans?

Belief in evolution only encourages dogmatism. You do not have proof for your claims, yet you dismiss other opinions as false cos you think there is no proof.

You dodged one of my earlier questions. Do you believe in the metaphysical or paranormal?

Oh, yes, and another. Why is it the supposed biggest proof of evolution, The Piltdown Man, turned out to be a forgery?
Christianity Etc › Re: You're Too Insignificant To Claim There Is No God. by Oahray:
ooman: Well sorry but you are. One thing you dont know is that if there is any evidence for God that I cannot refute, just one, then i will believe in God. But there isnt, instead of you to prove your God, you are getting soppy . I know about intelligent design ID, but is it ever taught in schools? No, have you every wonder why? because it is not true, it is just a wish that cannot be proved. God is no longer taught in science classes because experiments have proved there is no God . Why not start with radiodurans, you can google that.
I'd only answer the bolded. Its the only thing worth commenting on in the pile of illogical trash you posted.

For the first bolded part.
I do not need to prove that God exists. Why?

Its like asking you to prove you have a brain. There is evidence, but I could still attribute your intellect to something else. If I do that, just as you evolutionists attribute the wonders of the universe, our world, and even our bodies to blind evolution, its sheer stupidity.

Why do you believe only what is taught in schools to be true? Its because you are gullible.
Tell me, do you believe in the metaphysical, the paranormal?

The second part shows your gullibility and overdependence on science. Ever heard of the biggest scientific fraud ever?
Scientists forged the supposed 'missing link' (the Piltdown skull) just to back their claims. Go do your research on Piltdown skull.

There is more scientific fraud like it, such as:
The Sokal Affair,
Lamarckian Inheritance,
The Great Moon hoax,
Discoveries of Shinichi Fujimura,
The Tasaday Tribe,
The Lying Stones,
The Cold Fusion or Low Energy Nuclear Reactor invention
The Perpetual Motion Machine,
The Gardiff Giant,
The works of Jan Hendrik Schön... and lots more.
Google each one to confirm.

Would you really wanna base your beliefs on people who would forge 'evidence' to support their baseless claim?

You do not need to answer that if it would be embarrassing.

ooman: If there were evidence of creation, why are almost all biologists evolutionists exist the gullible ones
same reason people like you who have made no impact whatsoever on science believe them.
Reason: An illogical mind which believes that whatever is not perceived by the senses does not exist.
Do you have any proof that God does not exist? No. Even the major proponents of evolution do not.
Contrary to your claim, many scientists believe in intelligent creation. Those who do not, leave room for skepticism.

Scientific knowledge has been changing over time and will still change. Why? Cos there is a limit to the certainty of human knowledge.
Yet you believe their every theory.

Now tell me, who is a gullible mind?
Christianity Etc › Re: You're Too Insignificant To Claim There Is No God. by Oahray: 3:17pm On Dec 21, 2012
@op, GBAM!
There is overwhelming evidence all around us, of intelligent design (creation) by a creator.
Even if there wasnt, absence of evidence is not evidence of absence.

To think atheists claim to be logical minds.
