jay bee: I'd go for option 2
How about we get even numbers for debaters
Pair them against each other for round one whilst allowing them to agree on a topic they had prefer to debate on. The winner of each rounds moves to the second round and repeat the same process as round 1.
doing it that way will keep it interesting as well as being manageable at all times
The pairing would have been nice but I foresee 2 issues:

1. We will need to have equal number of members on each side
2. We may run into pairing trouble in the next round if more people from a side should win in the 1st/an earlier round

freecocoa: OAM4Cocoa,Abeg that 7 don do na.

you don't want people to get bored easily now do you?cheesy
My dear I think the 14 is ok too. We just dont want to be seen as refusing willing participants and we are not going to remove those who have accepted to participate. If more people don't show interest then we can go from 14 to 8 and then to the final 4.

@David

Jarus is more willing to be a judge and he is already included among the judges.

We are waiting for most of the debaters and Judges to express their preference from the 2 options above so we can publish the procedure details.

Please lets do this on time.

maclatunji: I am more interested in preventing readers barging-into the thread with their own opinions. How will that be curbed?
There will be time for audience/readers to post their views, any post from them before then will be hid.

Enough of this already.

@maclatunji

na wa for you o. Your will be iyawo will need to be drinking a lot of "omi suuru"

Anyways, am working with her now on this. She didn't drop your name out of spite. The aim is to have all those who are seriously willing to debate in her initial list, then give room for few more others who are not in her list but willing to participate.

If you are still interested say so, we will have your name back, if not its ok, you are welcome among our powerful audience.

@all

We are putting finishing touches to the structure/modalities and considering all your suggestions here. We will communicate them to you soon.

This debate will succeed!

Where is everybody na?

Now that I am about to find a career in poetry grin

Anyways this is is dedicated to the ladies I have already won or about to win their hearts:

Tgirl4real, Ileke-idi, Missy b, Rocktation and cuddlemii

This thing called love….

Plays the sweetest melody and makes wars to cease
Yet can make the strongest weak

Blind to wrongs and makes wrongs right
Yet can make wisest fool

Turns eternity to a moment and moments to eternity
Yet can make sweet sour in a moment

Beautiful yet dangerous
Still I rather risk all to love… for what is life without love?

Rocktation: I will cry no more
I am willing to try
Though my heart tells me that you are a lie
He promised thesame
Now he's far far away
But with you, who knows? I am willing to try.

*i'm no poet either--perfect match we must be* smiley
If your heart says its a lie then run with my heart
For in my heart there is no room for lies
Some break promises yet many more keep them
life is a risk anyways, so lets risk it together
