Mercedes-AMG and Cigarette Racing celebrate their 11th year of collaboration with the most impressive and innovative performance boat ever constructed by Cigarette Racing.

This year, the two companies Inspired by the Mercedes-AMG Project One supersportscar,built the Cigarette Racing 515 Project One from the ground up using the latest technology and methodologies.

The racing boat features a highly optimized composite structure built from carbon fiber, Kevlar, and E-glass. The carbon fiber was used for the inner structural laminate of the hull, forward bulkheads, cabin liner, engine hatch, consoles, and storage hatches to significantly reduce overall weight.

The 515 Project One is 51’5″ in length (hence the "515" in the name) and has a beam of 9’6″ allowing six passengers to be seated on the boat. The boat has 30% greater surface area compared to the 50′ Marauder yet the 515 Project One can reach 140mph top speed thanks to an optimized composite structure made of Kevlar and E-glass.

The deck is made of carbon fiber to reduce overall weight and the inner structural laminate of the hull, forward bulkheads, cabin liner, engine hatch, consoles, and storage hatches are carbon fiber. The 7′ long and 14-inch wide air intakes are only 4.4 pounds each.

The boat has a pair of Mercury Racing 1,350/1,550 Qc4v engines and M8 stern drives. Those engines make up to 3,100 hp. The engine turning can be changed using a key fob with the Race Key fob unlocking up to 1,550 hp and requiring race fuel. The Pleasure key fob limits power to 1,350 hp and runs on 91 octane fuel.

They took their inspiration from the Mercedes-AMG Project ONE hypercar which is meant to bring F1 tech to the streets with a 1.6L V6 hybrid gas engine that uses a turbo and aims to make over 1,000hp. The engine will spin to 11,000 rpm and push the car to 217mph.

Say goodbye to the "View Image" link in Google Images. Google announced a few changes to its image search today, one of which being the removal of its option to check out an image without visiting the site that hosts it. It might be a bummer for some, but since it was a stipulation of Google's settlement with Getty Images, it was only a matter of time before it happened. In a tweet, Google said today that the changes "are designed to strike a balance between serving user needs and publisher concerns, both stakeholders we value."

In 2016, Getty Images filed a complaint against Google to the European Union claiming that the company's image search promoted piracy. Getty Images told Time that having easy access to high-resolution photos through Google Images means "there is little impetus to view the image on the original source site." And Getty Images' general counsel Yoko Miyashita said at the time, "Google's behavior is adversely affecting not only our contributors, but the lives and livelihoods of artists around the world, present and future."

The two announced earlier this month that they had reached a deal. As part of the agreement, Google will obtain a multi-year license to use Getty's photos in its products, but it had to agree to change a few aspects of its image search. One change was the removal of "View Image" and going forward, it will also make copyright attribution more noticeable. Google also announced today that it has taken away the "Search by Image" button as well, but it noted that reverse image search through the Google Image search bar still works.

"Ultimately, Google Images is a way for people to discover information in cases where browsing images is a better experience than text," Google said. "Having a single button that takes people to actionable information about the image is good for users, web publishers and copyright holders."

The SkyRunner, an early adaptation of the flying motor popular with Hollywood actors and celebrities was involved in a spectacular crash at a Dubai runway last week.

Described as “one of the world’s greatest adventure vehicles”, the car went down not long after takeoff when it failed to gain sufficient height and smashed into the side of an airport hangar.

In the footage, the flying car appears to take off without a problem, but once airborne it doesn't climb and collides heavily with the wall of the hangar.
The car usually requires a minimum 137-metre runway to take off.

Fortunately, the husband and wife team piloting the action vehicle at the time survived the crash, but are reportedly in hospital with "non-life threatening injuries.

Resembling an off-road buggy with a chassis made from steel tubing enclosed by carbon fibre body panels, the SkyRunner is powered by a 115bhp Rotax engine.

Fitted with a gliding parachute, it is capable of flying at 10,000 feet, with a 36-knot cruising speed and 120-mile range.

According to the manufacturers, the flying car is easy to operate, using a throttle pedal to climb and descend, while two flight controls direct whether the car veers left or right.

Operating a SkyRunner requires a pilot’s licence and the vehicles start at £100,000 (US$139,000).

10. It’s an SSUV
The first thing you need to know is that Lamborghini doesn’t call it an SUV, preferring the term Super Sports Utility Vehicle (SSUV). This is the second SUV it has ever made, and the last one was the Rambo Lambo LM002 in the ‘80s. 

9. It’s the First Turbocharged Model in Lamborghini History
The all-wheel-drive Urus is powered by a 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 that is shared with Audi. Until now, all Lamborghinis have been naturally aspirated.

8. A lot of Engine, a lot of Tech
That engine outputs 650 horsepower and 627 pound-feet of torque. The V8 is paired to an eight-speed automatic. There is also active torque vectoring from the front to back axles and between the rear tires, thanks to center and rear differentials. Torque is split 40/60 front and rear as standard, but up to 70 percent of the torque can be sent to the front or 87 percent to the rear.

7. It’s Fast
That impressive powertrain allowed Lamborghini to claim the title of fastest SUV in the world, with a top speed of 190 mph (305 km/h). Zero to 60 mph happens in just 3.6 seconds.The Hellcat-powered Jeep Grand Cherokee Trackhawk does it in 3.5 seconds. So the Urus has the outright fastest top speed, but it’s not the quickest SUV in the world.

6. The Brakes are Massive
The Urus has the biggest brake rotors ever on a production car. Carbon ceramics are standard and they measure 17.3 inches up front and 14.6 inches in the rear.

5. Huge Wheels
Complementing those huge brakes are huge standard 21-inch wheels. Even bigger 22- or 23-inch wheels paired with specially developed Pirelli P Zero Corsa tires are also available.

4. Impressive Weight
The Urus has a curb weight under 4,850 pounds (2,200 kilograms), making it the SUV with the best power-to-weight ratio. Weight management was a huge reason why it has a V8 and not a V10 or V12.

3. Six Different Driving Modes
The Urus has six different driving modes, all of which are in Italian. Translated, those modes are Sand, Snow, and Soil/Dirt for off-roading, and then Track, Sport, and Street for performance and everyday driving. There’s also an EGO mode that is customizable.

2. The Interior is All Lamborghini
The Urus’ interior is still inspired by fighter jets. It has three TFT screens, one for the instruments and gauges, and two touchscreens that take care of infotainment and HVAC controls. It also has a virtual keyboard that recognizes handwriting.

The Urus is also the first Lamborghini to come with driver assistance technology like adaptive cruise control, automatic emergency braking, high beam assist, a top-view parking camera, a trailer backup mode, and tech including Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, wireless charging, and a head-up display.

The Lamborghini Urus will be priced from $200,000 and deliveries will begin in late 2018. Unfortunately, they’re sold out for the rest of the year and most of 2019 as well. The Urus is expected to double Lamborghini’s global sales which means about 3,185 Urus models are bound to find new homes this year.

Robotics firm Boston Dynamics is showing off its latest creation: A robotic dog that can open doors.

In a video posted by Boston Dynamics, the company’s  SpotMini robot is seen struggling to get past a locked door until another SpotMini shows up with a special arm that opens the door. The second robot then holds the door open for its robotic buddy.

Boston Dynamics’ videos never fail to impress or to terrify, depending on your views of robotics and artificial intelligence. The company’s creations may have been the inspiration behind a recent episode of the dystopian sci-fi series Black Mirror in which robotic dogs set out to kill all living things.

But robots like the kind Boston Dynamics makes can have real-world benefits, like the ability to find people stranded in the rubble after an earthquake.

Japanese conglomerate SoftBank purchased Boston Dynamics from Google parent company Alphabet in 2017 for an undisclosed sum.

Rolls-Royce officially revealed today that its forthcoming SUV will be named Cullinan,named after the largest gem-quality diamond ever found.

The Cullinan, a vast high-sided ultra-luxury off-roader based loosely on the Phantom, is expected to arrive later in 2018 as a rival to Bentley's extravagant Bentayga 4x4.

Unwilling to describe the car as an SUV, Rolls-Royce said the high-sided vehicle shares its name with a 3106 carat(621.35 g) jewel that was unearthed in South Africa in 1905 and is the largest flawless diamond ever found and that it emerges when it is perfect and exists above all others.

Even the images released along with the name confirmation show the vehicle cloaked entirely in camouflage.
