This adorable snap, which shows a cute dormouse climbing up a yarrow flower in the Italian mountains, won the Creatures of the Land category. The photographer, Andrea Zampatti, 32, from Monticelli in Italy, took the photo while hiking on Mount Guglielmo. He said: 'I was walking along the track and I began to hear a sharp and strange "call" coming from the edge of the forest. After a few minutes of searching, with amazement and happiness, I found this tiny dormouse'

The photography competition aims to raise awareness of conservation through comedy and received more than 3,500 entries from 86 countries.

Its winners, judged by the likes of TV presenter Kate Humble and comedian Hugh Dennis, were announced last night.

There were only five official winners across the categories, but many worthy competitors.

I saw this been advertised online,and it says the Mobil 1 Annual Protection ultimate full synthetic motor oils provides protection for one year between oil changes or 20,000 miles, whichever comes first.

Have also seen other foreign products like the Amsoil and NEO motor oil claim 25,000 miles or one year protection before needing a change.

There is much debate in the automotive world over how often drivers of typical passenger cars or light trucks should change their motor
oil.

Some people believe changing motor oil once every 3,000 miles may be just marketing strategy to generate more money.

Some say the 6,000-7,000miles may be fine for regular HD motor oil even on older cars if oil changes were done every 6,000-7,000 miles from the time they were new.

I doubt if this products are readily available in Nigerian stores unless they ordered online, but i think the effects of changing the oil after every 20,000 miles on old/new cars can be dangerous.

Governor Akinwunmi Ambode has urged individuals and organisations in Lagos State to help in the policing of the state by installing CCTV cameras in their premises.

He said the move will expand the reach of law of enforcement agents in nabbing criminals. Ambode made the appeal today at a TownHall Meeting on Security Trust Fund in Alausa, Ikeja.

“As responsible citizens and worthy stakeholders, you also have crucial part to play for the enhancement of security in the state,” he said. He said plans had been concluded to procure surveillance aircraft that could effectively gather intelligence in parts of the state and assist significantly in dealing with the menace.

“It is pertinent to note that these criminals have not relented in their pursuit of evil. We must demonstrate that we are prepared to do whatever it takes to make it difficult for them to succeed in their evil plots.
“We will apprehend them and bring them to justice,” he said.

Earlier, the Commissioner of Police in the state, Mr Edgal Imohimi, said the introduction of community policing and the increase in police visibility had resulted in 35 per cent decline in crime. Imohinmi said that despite massive contributions by the state security trust fund, dearth of patrol vehicles remained a challenge.

“Many vehicles attached to the divisions have become rickety and unserviceable due to old age and over usage,” he said.

Imohinmi, however, said the command would not relent in its efforts to consolidate on the achievements recorded so far, but would appreciate if additional critical fighting equipment were provided.

He said this would help to improve on the successes so far recorded in the command’s fight against crime and criminality. Also, Secretary of the Security Trust Fund, Mr Abdulrazaq Balogun, said there was need for organisations to engage in consistent and sustainable security model. According to him, this will enhance strategic planning for improved security in the state.

The world's richest YouTuber is a former Tesco worker from Hampshire.
Dan Middleton, 26, raked in a staggering £12.3MILLION from his channel in 2017, according to Forbes.

Better known to his legion of fans as DanTDM, he posts videos of him playing popular computer games and offers tips.

The video-sharing site gives 'professional' YouTubers around 68 per cent of advertising profits.

And with an army of 16 million subscribers, that means Dan's videos are hugely profitable.

He recently performed on a live tour including a stop at the Sydney Opera House which was the second fastest-selling show in the venue's history.

Mr Middleton, from Aldershot, began his career posting videos of him playing Pokemon while at university.

He is now mostly known for his expertise on Minecraft, a game which involves building a 3D world.

Speaking about his success, Mr Middleton admitted he has been left a little overwhelmed: "It's something I was just not prepared for at all.

"It’s something I’ve slowly been learning about in the past three or four years. In the past five years YouTube has evolved. Being a YouTuber was not a thing before.

"I know people that make similar content to me who are 30 or 40 years old so I don’t think there is an age limit to it at all."

In total his videos have been viewed more than 10 billion times.

Yesterday at the Qualcomm's second annual tech summit,Qualcomm and Microsoft announced that the first Windows 10 devices with ARM-based processors will be arriving early next year. HP, Asus, and Lenovo will all be launching laptops and convertibles with Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 835 processor in them, with prices expected to range from $600 to $800.

At the event, HP Envy x2 and the ASUS NovaGo,two of the "Always Connected PCs" that Microsoft has talked about since last year were unveiled.

Both laptops use the Snapdragon 835 chipset which you'll find on this year's premium smartphones like the Pixel 2, Galaxy Note 8, LG V30, Xperia XZ Premium and Razer Phone. The chip comes with Qualcomm's Snapdragon X16 modem which supports gigabit LTE.ASUS called the NovaGo the first Gigabit LTE laptop, since it uses the Snapdragon chipset that enables those speeds.

Windows 10 on ARM is a reboot of Microsoft’s earlier attempts to marry mobile processors with full laptop experiences. It promises to provide better power efficiencies, reliable performance, and always-on connectivity compared to the x86 Intel-based computers that have existed so far.

At just 1.54 pounds, the HP Envy x2, which is the company's latest Surface clone, is lighter even than the 12-inch MacBook (2016), which weighs a mere 2 pounds. The Envy has a similarly sized 12-inch display, though its 1,920 x 1,280 resolution isn't as sharp as the MacBook.

The ASUS NovaGo weighs 1.39 kg (or 3.06 pounds) and packs a slightly larger 13.3-inch full HD LTPS touchscreen with ASUS Pen support (1024-level pressure).

Both the ASUS and HP convertibles offer up to 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage, although the NovaGo uses UFS 2.0 that should allow for faster memory access and lower power consumption.

The main thing to note here is that these are two Snapdragon-powered PCs that can run full Windows 10 while providing smartphone-like connectivity to gigabit LTE networks. Both devices will ship with Windows 10S, but ASUS and HP are offering free upgrades to Windows 10 Pro before Sept. 30, 2018.

This old 1960 Mercedes 190 SL,left to rot in a garage for 30 years was found by an auctioneer valuing a collection of motorbikes.

THIS is the moment a McDonald's security guard refused service to a Muslim woman because she was wearing a headscarf

The 19-year-old student claims she was inside the fast food outlet in north London when the security guard told her to remove the traditional dress or leave.

Footage filmed on her phone then shows the woman confronting the security guard about his stance as he refuses to back down.

McDonald's has apologised for the incident and said it is 'addressing this with the individuals involved'.

The video, which was uploaded to Twitter, shows the student in the doorway of McDonald's on Seven Sisters Road in Holloway.

She asks: "Why can't I come in to McDonald's? Because I'm wearing a hijab?"The security guard replies: "It's just a matter of taking it off..."

A member of the public steps in to tell the security guard he has no right to stop the woman ordering food.But the security guard refuses to change his mind and simply adds: "No".

The woman adds: "This is a hate crime. I just want to know who's implementing this policy because this is f***ing ridiculous.

I'm so shocked right now. I've been living in the UK for 19 years and this is the first time I'm faced with this kind of discrimination."

The woman, who asked not to be named, later told the Guardian: “I thought: ‘It’s finally happening to me,’ like it has to so many hijabis. It didn’t feel real because I had seen so many videos like this and it was finally happening to me in real life. I was in so much disbelief.

“The friend I was with was shocked and scared, and said it was a risky situation. When it was over, I finally realised how these situations can become dangerous. This is not a one-off thing.“I will never walk into a McDonald’s again."

A spokeswoman for McDonald’s apologised for the incident and said the chain does not have such a policy in place.

She said: “McDonald's does not have a policy in place which restricts or prevents anyone wearing a hijab, or any other religious dress, from entering.

“We welcome customers of all faiths and would like to apologise to the customer as this situation should not have taken place.

"We are taking this matter extremely seriously and are addressing this with the individuals involved.”

PRINCE Harry has finally popped the question and the world is looking forward to another royal wedding.
But how will the Suits actress be addressed after their Spring 2018 wedding?

Actress Meghan will be known as Her Royal Highness Princess Henry of Wales, using her husband's name, while any children born to the couple will be a lord or lady, not a prince or princess.
However, the 36-year-old actress won't be known as Princess Meghan.
The pair will instead be known as the Duke and Duchess of Sussex after they wed next year.

This is because due to rules governing the British crown, only those born into the royal family can use the title Prince or Princess, followed by their first name.

Harry's mum Diana was given the title Princess of Wales,a courtesy title held by the wife of the Prince of Wales but she was never formally referred to as Princess Diana for the same reason.

But it is almost guaranteed that the Queen will instead bestow the couple a Dukedom before their wedding, making Meghan a duchess.

Amazon founder Jeff Bezos has become the world’s newest and only $100bn billionaire, thanks to a $2.4bn surge in his personal fortune on the run up to Black Friday.

His wealth shot into newfound stratospheres after share prices for the online retailer soared by 2pc on the back of optimism that the company’s value would grow during the spending bonanza.

It came as sales over the internet overall shot up by nearly a fifth (18.4%) on the day - as shoppers snapped up bargains - compared to the same 24-hour period last year, figures show.

The hike in Mr Bezos’s wealth had soared by $32.6bn this year up until Thursday, with the extra  $2.4bn landing in his pocket ahead of the consumer frenzy, and secures his position as the world's richest man.

He is trailed by Bill Gates who saw his fortune reach above $100bn in 1996, the first in the world when the value of Microsoft surged on Wall Street.

His current wealth is estimated at $86.8bn, but analysts say he would be worth $150bn had he not given away some 700 million in shares in Microsoft and $2.9bn to charity after re-inventing himself as a philanthropist.

But Mr Bezos has to date has not given away any of his wealth, but in June he tweeted that he wanted the help people with his fortune and was looking for ideas for how to share it.

He wrote: “I’m thinking I want much of my philanthropic activity to be helping people in the here and now — short term — at the intersection of urgent need and lasting impact.”

His post to his followers of more than 220,000 quickly turned up more than 22,000 likes and almost 50,000 comments with suggestions as to how Mr Bezos could make a difference.

To date the Amazon founder has not revealed if he has shared any of his fortune.

Mr Bezos started Amazon in his basement in Seattle 22 years ago, after he quit his job as a hedge fund manager in New York.

The company is currently one of world’s leading online retailers, and in April of this year was valued at $430bn, according to CNN.

The Barcelona star does not think he will become friends with his Real Madrid rival once both players retire at the end of their playing careers.

Lionel Messi has revealed that he does not have a relationship with Cristiano Ronaldo, and only really speaks to his rival at awards ceremonies.

An Australian school has covered a statue from view because of its "potentially suggestive" depiction of a saint handing a loaf of bread to a boy.

The Catholic school in Adelaide apologised on Wednesday for the statue, which was completed recently.
The sculpture, portraying St Martin de Porres, was widely criticised after images of it were posted online.

The unfortunate position of the loaf of bread held by the saint led to some misreading the scene.
Blackfriars Priory School said it had commissioned a new sculptor to "substantially alter" the design.

In a message posted on Facebook, principal Simon Cobiac apologised to the school community for "any concerns and publicity" caused by the statue.

He said the school had approved its design and commissioned a sculptor in Vietnam, but "upon arrival the three-dimensional statue was deemed by the [school] to be potentially suggestive".

The Adelaide Advertiser newspaper said the statue had been installed last week and later covered with a black cloth.
It drew public attention after an image of the statue was posted on a popular Adelaide Instagram account, where it attracted hundreds of comments.
"Who designed that...surely someone has to say 'mmm big mistake'," wrote one commenter, in a sentiment echoed by many.

Mr Cobiac said the design had been intended as a "depiction of the tireless work of St Martin de Porres, a Dominican brother, for the poor and downtrodden of the 16th Century".
