Eli Ink, a 27-year-old tattoo artist from Brighton, has undergone a 10-year transformation to turn himself into a walking exhibition of his tats. Mr Ink uses several coats of black colouring to permanently blacken his skin. He also implanted huge stretchers in his nose and under his bottom lip as part of his body-modification process. The artist even went as far as dying his eyes to complete the striking look. "In my opinion, the only person who will only ever understand my transition properly is me. I don’t attempt to describe it to anyone," he told the Mail Online. He said: "I’ve always been blown away by art itself. Picasso is a huge childhood inspiration to me, especially abstract art, but I do like all forms of art. Body art was just the next local step for me growing up. "I wanted to look like an abstract character in one of Picasso’s paintings. I love the abstract look, no thought , just pure expression." Tattooing the whites of eyeballs involves delicately injecting ink in-betweek two layers of the Scleral of the eye and letting it spread out. Mr Ink admitted there can be horrifying consequences if the procedure goes wrong. He added: "That’s the risk you take letting anyone near your eyes, even trained surgeons can make mistake. Body modification is a risk taker's lifestyle." Despite his extreme appearance, he claims his love life has not been affected by the tats.He says his girlfriend Holly, another body-mod enthusiast, is madly in love with him. Mr Ink is also not bothered by negative reactions to his work.He said: "The best is always nice compliments, that’s always nice to hear, either from tattoo collectors or just passers-by, the worst is always older generation looking down on you and making you feel worthless." Before body-modification he ran his own gardening company, only experimenting with drawing and painting in his part time. He later became a full time tattooist and joined the body-modification sub culture, which pays homage to tribal rituals. About his project, he said: ‘I will never be finished. It will take me the rest of my life to finish my studies but I am dedicating the rest of my life to body modification and perfecting my work." https://imagizer.imageshack.us/a/img923/4169/nXG1iB.jpg German carmaker BMW on Friday recalls 11,700 cars to fix their engine management software after it discovered that the wrong programming had been installed on its luxury 5- and 7-Series models. They said "In the course of internal tests, they discovered that a correctly developed software update was mistakenly assigned to certain unsuitable model-versions". BMW issued the statement after a report suggested it had installed software that manipulated emissions of harmful gases such as nitrogen oxide, something its management has always denied. Their competitor ,Volkswagen reached a multi-billion-dollar U.S. settlement after admitting installing so-called "defeat devices" on its diesel models designed to game emissions tests. The Dieselgate" emissions scandal has forced VW to set aside 25.8 billion euros ($31.7 billion) to cover fines and related costs, of which it has paid out nearly 20 billion euros. The models affected were 5- and 7-Series cars made between 2012 and 2017 containing high-performance diesel engines and three turbo chargers. BMW said the offending software was mistakenly loaded into cars with a different system for removing harmful nitrogen oxides (NOx) from the exhaust than originally intended. "Corrected software will be made available for these vehicles after approval by the relevant authorities". Do you own the affected 5- and 7-series that was made between 2012 and 2017? The decision was made due to the fact the fact that demand for diesel models is falling It means Porsche customers will no longer have the option of a new diesel-powered Macan, Panamera or Cayenne as the German manufacturer switches full attention to petrol and hybrid models. Porsche is the first manufacturer to pull all diesels from its range since the Dieselgate scandal and the introduction of stricter type-approval fuel economy tests that were enforced from September. The two latest oil-burning examples it offered, the Macan S Diesel and Panamera S Diesel which was only released in November 2016, are now no longer available to new-car buyers. Both cars have been stricken from the range because a new software update was required in order for the cars to conform with the new Worldwide Harmonised Light Vehicles Test Procedure (WLTP) standards that have been compulsory for all new cars since the end of 2017. Government backlash against diesel has increased since Porsche's parent group VW, was found to have fitted some of its vehicles with emissions cheating devices. Porsche does not develop or build diesel engines itself and currently, the demand for diesel models is falling, whereas interest in hybrid and petrol models is increasing significantly. Like almost every other mass-producing car maker, Porsche is already looking to step up its electrification efforts, which will be spearheaded by the launch of the new pure-electric Mission E supercar due in 2019. https://imagizer.imageshack.us/a/img924/3568/FjPBWX.jpg https://imagizer.imageshack.us/a/img923/2711/pR81sv.jpg VOLVO, famed for making the safest cars around has unveiled the new V60 that is packed with the latest kit to keep you out of trouble.Last year the XC60 was crowned as the safest car with a near 100 per cent score. But the new V60 is set to rival that. The most impressive is a hi-tech crash avoidance system that will spot cars, pedestrians, cyclists and even large animals. If you're in danger of having an accident, the V60's world-leading system will automatically slam on the brakes before it happens. The car's "Pilot Assist" will also help with steering, acceleration and braking on well-marked roads up to 80mph. https://imagizer.imageshack.us/a/img922/3260/F86Udp.jpg https://imagizer.imageshack.us/a/img922/5511/G3ucYG.jpg If the car seems you veering off course it'll steer you back onto the road to stop you running off the road or veering across lanes. It's also fitted with blind spot monitoring to stop you swinging out in front of a car on the motorway. The optional Cross Traffic Alert can warn the driver crossing traffic passing behind when the car is reversing. Volvo has also loaded the new family estate with connected technology with a built-in 4G wifi hotspot and Apple CarPlay/Android Auto compatibility. This and the rest of the car's functions are controlled by a tablet-style touchscreen on the dash. At 4761mm long, the new V60 is 117mm longer than its XC60 platform twin. It sits on a 2872mm wheelbase that's 98mm longer than the XC60's. The new estate car is available as a plug-in hybrid, petrol and diesel. The diesel packs 310 horsepower and 295 ft.-lbs. of torque, giving it a zero-to-sixty time of 5.8 seconds. It comes with two plug-in hybrid options under the hood,340 and 390 horsepower and an electric range of 28 miles. In some market,V60 will launch as a front-wheel drive version with 250 horsepower or an all-wheel drive version with 316 horsepower (both powered by gasoline engines). It will cost £31,000 but could just save your life with its clever safety technology. The Owl runs a pair of 40kW motors, offering up 429bhp and 563lb ft of torque. It weighs just 1,874 pounds and sits low (just 990mm tall). Aspark claims the Owl is capable of hitting 174mph flat out, a top speed that would likely affect the claimed 93-mile battery range. Electricity comes from a combination of batteries and super capacitors setup. Admittedly, the car was fitted with a set of Hoosier racing tires and a rear-wheel-only burnout was conducted before the test to warm up the tires, but a 1.921 second 0-60 is a 1.921 second 0-60. While this was an incredible feat, Aspark claim they will continue to tweak the formula until this sub-two-second 0-60 time can be accomplished on street-legal tires. 50 of this hypercar will be made and be priced at about $4.4 million, which makes the $200,000 Tesla Roadster look like a bargain. And while Tesla plans to begin delivering Roadsters in 2020, it’s unclear exactly when the Owl will enter production. The Owl faces competition not only from the Tesla Roadster, but from the Nio EP9 and Rimac Concept One electric supercars. WSVN gained access to the 911 call and on it, Joseph Cooper can be heard telling dispatchers he needed traffic assistance on the highway as his SUV reached speeds of 100 mph (160 km/h). “I think my gas pedal is stuck on my car, and I’m on I-95,” Cooper said in the 911 call. He could be heard yelling, “Get out of the way!” to other drivers as his car barreled north. Cooper, 28, stayed on the phone, keeping dispatchers updated with each mile marker he passed. Eventually, troopers were able to get ahead of him and clear traffic on the road. “You have no idea why it could be stuck?” the dispatcher asked. “No ma’am, I do not,” Cooper responded. “Are you able to get your vehicle in neutral?” the dispatcher asked. Cooper replied, “No.” The dispatcher asked if he tried the emergency brakes, to which Cooper responded, “Madam, I’m not going to do that at 100mph, I’m sorry.” Troopers had to throw three stop sticks to deflate the SUV’s tires. Once Cooper’s car was running on its rims, FHP used a PIT maneuver to bring the vehicle to a stop. Cooper was later taken to the hospital with chest pains. The male driver told reporters he had forgotten to leave his personal firearm in another vehicle. He and the other drivers of three media vans were replaced before the vehicles drove on to Trump's Mar-a-Lago compound, where the vans joined the president's motorcade. The man could be seen being questioned as journalists were driven away from the area where the security sweeps had taken place. A pool of reporters travels as part of the president's motorcade in Washington and when he travels domestically or abroad. Drivers of the vans are sometimes volunteers and are sometimes hired for the job. Source Reuters Cc Lalasticlala Mynd44 |
