DrRasheed: NO SANE mind should sympathise with this man. he fell into evil of his own making.
At the apex of boko haram 24\7 onslaught in adamawa, mubi in particular, this man looted the defense treasury, sent choppers to evacuate his family, armoured personnel carriers apCs, meant for soldiers were used to transport his extended relatives living a whole town with zero defense, soldiers fled bt who will blame them. Further to this media article, on October 25th the CEO further sent letters to the 4 NEDs purporting to accept their resignation. The Company Secretary also posted a notification of the resignation of the 4 NEDs on the NSE issuers’ portal and finally the CEO sent a letter from the CBN which was addressed to him and in which the CBN accepted the resignation of the 4 NEDs and instructed the CEO to find replacements. Since then there have been media reports with varying renditions of the facts. This letter has been necessitated by the following: The seeming lack of regulatory / procedural clarity regarding the purported resignation of four directors to which it is important that the three regulators; CBN, SEC and NSE jointly or severally make a pronouncement directly to the bank on these matters having now been apprised of the facts in the foregoing and other consultation they may have had. The need to maintain corporate governance in the bank and protect the interest of all the shareholders of the bank. Our Prayers
That all regulatory bodies copied in this letter objectively review the foregoing and address this matter promptly in a manner that restores confidence not only in Diamond bank as an entity but in the financial system as a whole. That the said regulatory bodies continue to support the Board of Diamond Bank in discharging its fiduciary responsibility in protecting the interests of all shareholders and stakeholders. That the Board be allowed to convene the Board strategic meeting as planned for Q4 2018 to discuss the above matters and decide the way forward. https://www.proshareng.com/news/Frauds%20&%20Scandals/What-Does-It-Mean-That-Independent-Directors-Accuse-Diamond-Bank-Of-Corporate-Governance-Issues/43104 |

Mpeace: What do you expect SEC and NSE to do? CBN is the direct regulator of the banking sector. SEC/NSE are capital market regulators and deal more with capital market rules. Its not against capital market rules for a company to make loss. As long as the bank continue to meet listing and other capital market rules, SEC and NSE will not intervene. The direct responsibility for banks is with the CBN. It is CBN that fix CAR and other ratios and also sanctions banks that fail to meet those ratios. Diamond's current issues relate to there ability to continue to meet those ratios in the nearest future. The job of SEC and NSE is to protect investors, by enforcing their rules on corporate governance and regular reporting For example Skye bank has been having corporate governance issues the SEC and NSE kept quiet until CBN intervened. Same thing happened to Diamond bank and NSE/SEC kept quite. https://www.proshareng.com/news/Frauds%20&%20Scandals/What-Does-It-Mean-That-Independent-Directors-Accuse-Diamond-Bank-Of-Corporate-Governance-Issues/43104 So what is SEC/NSE doing? |

DeRuggedProf: Do TA on FA approved stocks, if you are NOT a TA guru. Both FXUSER/BBM profited here. They knew it will take some smart money to get out first, while getting dumb money in before the worst will ever happen and they ran into the smoke filled collapsing room, packaged some treasures and left through the window, they never bothered the door!
Never trust any market News, believe the market action.
BBM don chop clean mouth leave me. How do I know? He stated in one of his posts that HE IS SURPRISED DBANK traded above N1.09, that was the day that guy sold to me. I am now wiser. Why didn't he call for general selling? He was not sure of my level of greed. I will stay awake to google until morning to read a rebuttal to this HATE SPEECH against DBANK. Thanks so much for your advice. IMO NSEMPA should start listing stocks with Bad FA here to protect members. Do you also noticed how NSE/SEC were quite about these bank until CBN hammer falls on them.
NSE/SEC don't really care about investors. |

Oga...this is my field. You can't even broach a convincing argument on the contrary. .. Well the Army action might become our diplomatic nightmare. UNICEF and Co are funded by the world powers, the same world powers selling us weapons. One debate on this issue at the US Congress might spell doom for Arms purchase. Nigeria is currently too fragile for this. |

Her dad decided to play a fast one by building on the land so he can lay full claims to the land. The agent that sold the same land to more than one person has some answering to do. You spoke my mind. That land is under contention, he should not have developed on it. |

anonymous1759: Not all Northern are illiterates, and secondly We're divided by ethnicity. The South East should not complain... Have not seen any other region holding any meaningful position in the South East... We've some South East indigene holding meaningful position in Lagos. Even Igbos deccriminate amongst themselves. The current VC in unizik is not from Anambra and he went through prosecution to stamp his feet because he's from Imo. And secondly Igbos focuses more on business. That's why you've few of them in top ministeries.. It's not Buhari's fault, he's giving appointment to those that supported him. Every other tribe will do the same. Because Nigeria is still driven by Ethnicity. We're all guilty Before you try to justify this actions, remember we have federal character and quoter system. If the government should appoint people based on comptence, Southerners will dominate every government department. |

mendes911: Most undervalued stock in terms of their present loss position or the huge debt they have??
You could say that the stock is a highly speculative stock in the sense that it's usually FPI's toast and they will rush such stock whenever they return to the market. Other than that and going by what they presently face, it's a NO NO. Going into WAPCO is a gamble and we better know that before diving in.
Am also very much interested in this stock and have been following the movement daily for a while now. Remember FMN was once in the same huge debt position as WAPCO, due to acquisition and expansion, today they are improving. WAPCO will get out huge debt sooner that expected. This big companies alway find their way out huge debts. NB- I don't have any unit of WAPCO for now, but i am fully prepared to enter when the i get the signal. |
