This bible verse explains all Nigeria has been going through since Buhari took over and the little respite the economy is seeing since Osinbanjo started acting as president ..

MY people our God is not a liar so in 2019 Vote wisely
freeborn76:
Here is my concern: we will achieve so much in the next few weeks and then Buhari would return and in a bid to reclaim relevance, he may either upturn some policies or introduce new ones, and then we may return to square one. If Buhari truly loves Nigeria, and I know he does, he should COMPLETELY handover the running of state affairs to Osinbajo...that is the only noble thing to do. Sadly, nobility is a scarce item in Nigeria.
Sometimes one cant really place his hands on what the problem really is; whether it's just educated illiteracy or whether it's just a case of people rushing to drop comments without reading or rationalising first.

4th quarter 2016 trade balance is announced and you begin to sing Osinbajo. But of the same 4th quarter inflation figure is announced you curse Buhari.

We won't allow you to continue spreading misinformation on this forum. The London Vegetable depleted our reserves by more than $6b from he what he met it when he took over in 2015. The increase in reserves now is largely thanks to the increase in crude prices.

It is also important to note that the Cattle Rearer has no single initiated or completed project to his name since May 2015. So the question is, what did they do with the huge budget of 2016? The answer is NOTHING! No roads, not even 1 megawatt of electricity added to the National Grid. Absolutely nothing to show for it.

Right now they've resurrected the good old cash cow known as rehabilitation of Abuja Airport that serves only the elites. What have they done to better the lot of the common man on the streets? Nothing! Instead it's hardship upon hardship never seen or experienced at any time in the history of this failed country. Never again!

cc: Obailala
Lol, I gave a you a very simple analogy with facts and figures and you simply shied away from it to rant about lack of projects; you actually even started by requoting your pointless self indicting analysis of $6bn from the reserves despite my explanations which I gave earlier to rubbish your claim.

Mr, I understand the intricacies of the economy is too difficult for you to understand, even the concept of the recession and it's causes are too convoluted for you to understand. But then, it's not unusual, a lot of people dont understand it too so its not strange for you to measure the economy in the little elementary way you understand it.

Regarding projects, I can tell you for a fact that Nigeria is in an economic emergency and anyone who understands that will realise that this may not be the best time to expect projects. But that notwithstanding, there are still several projects springing up all over the place from roads to rails to power projects. All these projects only started less than a year ago when the current administration got its first budget approved by the NASS. And with projects starting barely less than a year ago, only the unwise or inconsiderate noise makers would complain about not seeing projects being commissioned in less than a year.

Now why weren't there projects starting in 2015? Due to the recession which was already impending well before the last admin handed over, the last admin budgeted virtually nothing for capital projects in the 2015 fiscal year; Ministry of works budget for instance was shockingly less than N20bn for the entire nation in the entire 2015 (and this ran till about April/May 2016 when this admin got its first budget approved) hence all contractors working on various projects around the nation abandoned tools for lack of payment all through 2015 until Fashola and co began remobilising them to site in 2016. If you had an understand of how governance works, you would have known that this current admin did not prepare the 2015 budget and cannot be blamed for lack of projects in 2015.

Hahaha... abeg make am Orijin grin

Like I always tell people, Buhari may be bad in economics, he's certainly doing several things wrong in my opinion, but he certainly has managed the bad times (low crude price) better than his predecessor. If only he could just handle the niger delta issue more amicably and restore peace and full production, with oil prices now hovering at about $55, Nigeria would certainly reap the fruits of his 'tight hand' economic style.

Had GEJ still been president till now, Venezuela would have been child's play compared to pestilence that God saved Nigeria from through the 2015 election cos our reserves would have since fallen to zero.
Foreign AffairsRe: Venezuela Is Down To Its Last $10 Billion! by obailala(m): 3:21pm On Mar 04, 2017
Fx55:
What nonsense misinformation are you trying to churn out to unsuspecting gullible folks out there? Our foreign reserves was hovering around $30-32b when Buhari took over in May 2015. The cattle-rustling dullard depleted it to as low as $25b before the increase we're seeing now.
On the contrary, you are actually the one either spreading wrong information on purpose or probblably just out of ignorance.

As at handover (May 29th 2015), Nigeria's reserve had specifically $28,719,649,022. This is the specific figure pulled off the CBN's reserves website on the 28th of May 2015. You can check for yourself here at:
https://www.cbn.gov.ng/intops/Reserve.asp

Now do you know what it means to have a negative balance of trade?.... In simple terms, it is when the forex leaving the reserves to service our import bill os higher than the forex flowing into our reserves through exports.

Oil being the primary source of Nigeria's forex, we had a negative balance of trade when oil prices began crashing and guess what? Nigeria's foreign reserves crashed from $38.6bn to $28.7bn between Nov 2014 and May 29th 2015, i.e. we lost $10bn from the reserves in roughly 6 months and despite this, Naira still crashed from N160 to N220 within the same period even though oil still sold above $60.

You claim that the cattle herder depleted our reserves to $25bn right?... Oh yes he did and it was actually even $23bn. But if you are half intelligent, you will be able to understand that with oil prices falling lower to about $28 and with Nigeria's oil production dropping by up to 50%, the further drop in the reserves was inevitable.

But nevertheless, dropping to $23bn from $28.7bn is barely a $5.7bn drop in almost 2 years depite the fact that oil prices even dropped to $28 (less than half of what it was when GEJ handed over) and oil priduction also dropped by up to 50%. So comparing a drop of $5.7bn in close to 2 years of lower oil price and production to a drop of $10bn in 6 months of higher oil price and full production, I'm sure if you are intelligent you can see who has managed the reserves better and you can also see how unintelligent your analysis is?

Like I always say, Buhari may be bad in economics, but he certainly has managed the bad times (low crude price) better than his predecessor; had GEJ still been president till now, Venezuela would have been child's play compared to whatever God saved us from in 2015 cos our reserves would have fallen to zero even b4 2016.

Educate yourself with facts and dont just dwell on emotional crappy disjointed beer parlour gists and political analysis, the figures are all there if you really want them.

There is really a very big problem in Venezuela, before now I used them as reference to a failed country until Buhari came on board and plunged our economy to exactly what brought about Venezuela crisis today, the problem in Venezuela escalated the moment they central Bank blocked access to dollar and importation so their black market promulgate, a dollar sold 1000 Bolivars which the actual rate is less than 10 Bolivars in the central bank, they blocked importation and the country was stocked.. what will foreign investors do when they can no longer access dollar, import raw material? the simply left.. people got impoverished.. do you know that one dollar is now about 2000 Bolivars in Venezuela.. this is where Nigeria is heading if we do not remove this president and stop him now
With the steady decline in their reserves due to the greatly reduced inflow of forex from oil (which is virtually their only export just like Nigeria), what would you have had them do besides limiting imports and restricting dollars from their central bank?

With their reserves dropping sharply, would you have advised that they left their central bank vaults open?

Bishop Okah obviously does not think charity should begin at home. He obviously does not see all the corrupt rogues around him, just recently the Great Odidigboigboi a.k.a Ibori returned to Delta state and was received triumphantly as a king; meanwhile Ibori happens to be Bishop Okah's ex governor who looted Okah's state dry and who still installs governors, senators, reps etc even from prison. In fact upon Ibori's return, Archbishop God-do-Well Avwomakpa (who happens to be Okah's senior colleague) personally officiated the thanksgiving service where he proudly (and shamelessly) described Ibori as a HERO of Urhoboland and Delta as a whole.

Bishop Okah doesnt think there's anything wrong with the log in his eyes, he only sees Amaechi of far away Rivers State. Wonderful!

Try to understand that some of the girls in question are in desperate need for someone who can come take them home; most of them live in dehumanizing bondage conditions and are even too scared to speak out. Of course the ones who are happy with what they do wouldn't accept to come back, but for a good number of the girls, this is more like a rescue mission and not a repatriation like you are obviously interpreting it. You obviously do not have a good knowledge of what the problem of women trafficking is, hence your position.

Nigerian govt. budgets N1 billion for Akwa Ibom seaport

The Acting President, Yemi Osinbajo, says that Federal Government has made provision of N1 billion in the 2017 budget for the development of Ibaka deep seaport in Akwa Ibom. Mr. Osinbajo said this in Uyo on Thursday while addressing a Townhall meeting of the government and people of the state. The acting president’s visit was part of his consultation with people in the Niger Delta on how to maximise the gains of oil resources in the region.

The acting president, who was responding to myriads of complaints and requests by the people, said that budgetary provisions had also been made for the Itu – Calabar federal highway in 2016. Mr. Osinbajo said the Ministry of Petroleum Resources was working with Amnesty Office to accommodate more youth from Akwa Ibom into the Amnesty Programme.

“I have heard all the requests. We must trust and give this government the patience that is required to put things right.

“We are working on modular refineries. Power stations must be established here. We must make our oil producing communities hub of petrochemical and gas industries.

“We must attract private investments. The biggest benefit is to attract more private investments to the state,” Mr. Osinbajo advised.

The acting president regretted that the blessings of oil wealth had not touched the majority of the people in the oil bearing communities. He said the Ministry of Petroleum Resources was working on several incentives for the oil producing communities. Mr. Osinbajo also directed the Ministry of Petroleum Resources to liaise with the oil multinationals operating in the state on the modalities to relocate their headquarters following repeated requests.

The acting president promised to partner with the state government to establish technology hub in the state while advising the people to be resourceful and innovative. He noted that the future depended on innovation and the ability to harness what we have for development. In his presentation earlier, the state governor, Udom Emmanuel, appealed to the Federal Government to support the Ibaka deep seaport. The governor also requested the Federal Government to partner with the state to establish a logistics centre for oil and gas operations. Mr. Emmanuel appealed to the Federal Government to resolve the ownership problem in the Aluminum Smelting Company of Nigeria (ALSCON) to enable the state benefit from it.

The governor, who described the acting president as a development partner and leader, appealed to the Federal Government to allocate oil and gas block to indigenes of the state. Speaking on behalf of oil producing communities, a former Minister of Lands and Housing, Nduese Essien, lamented that the state had nothing to show for being the highest oil producer.

Mr. Essien suggested that the coastal railway project of the Federal Government should pass through Oron- Eket- Ikot Abasi routes. He called on the Federal Government to correct the anomaly in the section four of the East-West spanning Onna and Eket in Akwa Ibom. In his presentation, the state leader, Pan Niger Delta Forum, Idongesit Nkanga, urged the federal government to partner with the state government to complete the hangar at the Akwa Ibom Airport. Mr. Nkanga called for the speedy completion of the East-West road cutting across the state and also expedite the transformation of Maritime Academy into a university.

In his speech, the Senate Minority Leader, Godswill Akpabio, commended the federal government for appointing indigenes of the state into key government positions. Mr. Akpabio, who spoke on behalf of the state’s elders council, asked for fairness and equity considering the allocation of projects in the Niger Delta region. The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that representatives of youth, women and special interest groups spoke at the town hall meeting.

I was wondering when am I going to read a rational and sincere perspective to what led to Arik's demise, not some old regurgitated nonsense some of other posters are putting up there. It is obvious even to the blind that Arik's Management is the sole reason why the company went down. Chief Arumeni Ikhide to me just went into a business he had no capacity to run. Pray tell, how do expect an Air line that is marked with characteristics unbecoming of a sane business to survive.

As far back as 2010, Arik's services had been terrible. Delayed flights, sometimes international flight get delayed in excess of 24hrs. Arik had the habit of purposefully delaying early morning local flight till around 11 or 3.pm. I remember in 2011, I was in Benin Airport for 7hrs, waitng to board an Arik flight. If my memory serves me right the flight was supposed to be around 9, then they kept adding an hour to it till around 12. Can you imagine, that it was around 12 that an official came to address us, and what was the excuse? ".....due to operational reasons". My college wanted to beat up the official. We were scheduled for a 2pm meeting in Lagos, yet we left Benin at 3.30pm.

If you looked into the antecedents of Nigeria businesses and why they are not sustainable, the same old trend plays itself - Corruption from top-bottom, irresponsible leadership, lack of foresight(they don't know they are in a marathon and not a sprint race), negative attitude of leaders and workers....and many more

For those of you blaming the present govt/PMB for Arik's demise, your idiocy has just reached a higher octane level. Was it Buhari that plunged Arik into the level of Debt they found themselves in? Was it PMB that caused Arik's services to be so bad that passengers luggage was siezed in New York for 2 weeks (kept in the open) for Arik's debt to freight company? Was it PMB that caused Arik to default so badly on local loan that the local bank had to seek for an Amcon take-over? Some of you, your education is not only a waste, but your undoing, i.e. you would have been more manageable as crass illiterates.
People just feel a need/desperation to blame something or someone in order to feel better with themselves... and who else is the easiest target if not that person they hate who also happens to be the oga at the top?

The Top 10 Cities With The Most Internet Fraudsters “yahoo Yahoo” In Nigeria

Written by Thatyorubdude

Yahoo Yahoo Boys as they are referred to as in Nigeria are Internet Fraudsters and scammers who obtain money from unsuspecting victims under false pretense

In Nigeria today, The population of Yahoo Boys is way higher than that of the Graduates. Everybody is striving to reap where they did not sow. The frustration that goes through the mind of Salary Earners when they see this Fraudsters is quite disheartening.

The Scammers are on the Increase everyday by day.

Below are the top cities where you can find most of these con men in Nigeria.

10.Abuja
Yes, their are a good number of internet fraudsters in Abuja, a city known to be controlled by political money bags. These fraudsters who are seen as Abuja big boys by virtue of the fact that they are relatives of some big politicians or claim to work in one government ministry or the other, actually use those as a cover for their illegal activities.

9.Abeokuta, Ogun State
This is a town with a growing number of youth interest in online scam. These young men sometime in 2014 hacked into an Ogun state owned account and stole millions of Naira. This could anyway be attributed to poor security system with the bank in question.

8.Kaduna, Kaduna State
Kaduna is another town with a growing number of yahoo boys. There has even been reports of attempts to steal the identity of the new Governor Malam Nasir Ahmad El-Rufai.

7.Awka, Anambra State
The scammers here who are majorly undergraduate students appears to have been gradually deserting the town as security operative had busted them many times in the past and had continued to be on their trail.

6.Enugu, Enugu State
Enugu is a place where yahoo boys are growing in their number as the city has quiet estates and accommodations where these young men hide away to carry out their illegal jobs without easily getting noticed.

5.Owerri, Imo State
A large number of Yahoo boys can be found in Owerri. They are well known in major hotel within the city where they go to squander their money on women. They also ride flashy cars around the city with people usually hailing them.

4.Warri, Delta State
Internet scam is so popular among the youths in Warri, Asaba, and other major towns in Delta state that they even impersonate their state governor without fear.

3.Port Harcourt, Rivers State
Port Harcourt is a place where internet scam is fast becoming a hobby. You will hardly see a young boy who doesn’t know someone involved in this ugly activity. Even with the increase in the number of people captured by the EFCC there, they appear not to be perturbed.

2.Benin City, Edo State
Benin is a known hotspot for the so-called Yahoo guys. Young boys of different age groups here engaged in online dating of foreigners particularly widows. They use different pseudo names and pictures to deceive their prospective victims. They also believe in charm helping them to hit their “maga” easily.

1.Lagos

Lagos is the headquarters of Internet Fraudsters in Nigeria. Virtually every corner of Lagos, from Lekki to the mainlands, has these con men who refer to themselves as “Gee Boys” meaning guys with swags and knows what’s up. The biggest amongst them own houses and live very expensive lifestyles in Lagos.

[color=Red]What do you think guys?

Which City in Nigeria do you think is missing on this List?

For Me => Osogbo is also loaded with Yahoo boys but did not make this list because their number is low compare to that of the Other Top 10 Cities listed above.

As long as Benin, Owerri and Lagos are on the list, I concur!

LAgos has to be number 1 on the list due to its nature of being Lagos. But unlike Lagos where you have all sorts of people (good and bad), Owerri and BEnin are weird; 80% of the young boys in those towns are into fraud.

Until CBN proves otherwise, Babatunde's revelation is factual.
Well, I think I saw a response the CBN gave to that issue some weeks back..
http://punchng.com/agf-malami-queries-emefiele-alleged-forex-fraud-cbn/

From my understanding of the response, the CBN claims it doesnt issue forex directly to bank customers as was contained in the alleged report; rather it is the banks that deal directly with customers. Secondly it claimed that following investigations, it was discovered that the report which raised eyebrows was improperly presented by the bank which sent in the report; all forex transactions appeared to have been labelled as USDollars, whereas in the real sense, most of the irregularities were actually from transactions done in other currencies (Rand, Yuan, etc).

While we all know the CBN is full of rogues (just like every other Nigerian institution), I choose to believe the response of the CBN cos it is obviously ridiculous to think that USD was sold for N0.62k.

Every Nigerian should know this by now except those blinded by APC abracadabra.

Come 2019, Nigeria needs to CHANGE THE CHANGERS. However, anyone carrying PDP or APC DNA should not be trusted to give us this desired change. The BIG QUESTION then is, who is that Nigerian politician with street credibility that doesn't have PDP and APC blood in them?
That's the kind of mess we find ourselves in. Whether we like it or not, the president in 2019 must either be from ApC or PDP.
