What is that tout called governor doing for ekiti people
How much allocation does Fayose get compared to Wike?... The allocation of ekiti is only sufficient to purchase kpomo, hence why Fayose is always involved in that.
phemmyutd: I am sorry, I am finding this difficult to believe.
According to the lawmaker, the alleged incident did not happen once, Yet nobody can take the picture for us to see.
Anyways I might be wrong
From personal experience and from experience of people close to me, I can say for a fact that Fulanis have large camps in the middle of those bushes. Sometimes, some of the miscreants amongst them step out into the highways even in the hot afternoon to rob travellers with sophisticated weapons after which they fall back into the woods. This has been going on for a long time now (I had an experience sometime in 2009). Can't say much about the helicopter case though.
laudate: For failing to verify the authenticity of the story...yes! Apostle Suleiman could sue the pants off them, and win!
I'm not a journalist, and I have no idea what's contained in the journalism ethics and laws, but I'm quite sure journalist and media houses are immune from prosecution if they can confidently cite and provide the source of their information. For instance, Vanguard cited SR ("...new video obtained by Sahara reporters..." ) so there's absolutely no way any blame can go to Vanguard for this case should Pastor Suleman decide to go to court.
Then for Sahara Reporters, they can only be held culpable if they added their own interpretations to the report. As it stands, they have only relayed a story as presented to them by suspect in police custody, they have also gone ahead to provide the source of their story by providing a video interview which the accuser made from her police cell. Once again, except SR has added its own interpretation to the story by judging and accusing the man of being guilty, then they absolutely have no case to answer if the Pastor goes ahead with a suit.
It is also the duty of the accuser to provide further evidence if she has; the business if SR in this is to report it.
laudate: No. You are the one who does NOT get it. If an event unfolds live in the presence of a journalist, and he reports it, then it is an eye-witness account and a live reportage of unfolding events.
But if someone comes to a journalist with information about an event that did not occur in the presence of the journalist, especially after such an event has taken place, it is the duty of the journalist to crosscheck and verify such information before putting it out in public domain. Otherwise he runs the risk of libel or publishing falsehood. Hope this clarifies the issue. Where do you think the term investigative journalism came from?
So has vanguard Newspaper and all other media bodies that have reported this story for 2 days now also broken Media Law and Ethics?
There's a difference between a media house creating a story and a media house just reporting a story as received from the horses mouth. For example, if Channels TV interviews an armed robber and the robber makes a false claim that it was the president that asked him to steal, would you hold Channels TV responsible for breaching media ethics or would you hold the robber responsible for his own words?
laudate: Nope. The job of a journalist is to report the facts. And they need to verify the facts or information they receive, before going to press. Otherwise, they would run the risk of libel. That is why every single university that teaches mass communication in Nigeria, always includes one course in their syllabus: Nigerian Media Law and Ethics. It is a compulsory course.
You dont still get it do you?
There's a difference between a media house creating a story and a media house just reporting a story as received from the horses mouth. For example, if Channels TV interviews an armed robber and the robber makes a false claim that it was the president that asked him to steal, would you hold Channels TV responsible for breaching media ethics or would you hold the robber responsible for his own words?
ChuzzyBlog: This photo just rolled into my inbox, i looked closely and obviously one of them is a photoshop of the other. To the left is one of the Apostle Johnson Suleman's photos that has been trending for over 48 hours. To the right is the alleged original photo from which Apostle Johnson's photo emanated from!
Obviously this is getting messier, look closely and tell me what you think!
laudate: Aren't journalists expected to verify the authenticity of any information they are given, before rushing to publish?? Or does the fact that they are an online publication, absolve them from the basic tenets of truth and honesty?
You get it all wrong, the job of journalists is to report a story. A story was narrated to SR by a woman who was arrested and who accused the Pastor of being behind her ordeal. Sahar simply followed the case up by publishing the VIDEO interview of the woman. What you are saying would have been valid if SR were the ones accusing the pastor; I find it weird why you cant see the difference.
subsurface: When we told you guys that its was a big scam or cheap blackmail; BMC & others thought that we are biased...
Every smart IT guru; knows that Photoshop was a very very poor job...
so after apostle suleman`s legal team told Sahara reporters that they will be sued for 1billion naira if they keep on publishing unverified information abt him..
everything just died down..
whyyy
if Sahara reporters are 100% sure of their sources they would have released more information on this matter; after all they will win any legal battle because they are 100% sure that apostle suleman adultry case was true.
but... more than 24hrs now we havent seen or hear anything again..
why..
doesnt it proof that Sahara reporters had been lying ever since abt this so called apostle suleman adultery scandal?
is this a real case of pure blackmail?
and u online guys that supported; why have u been quiet...?
Finally to Ms Stephanie Otobo; please we are still waiting for more proof...
Sahara reporters/BMC/Ms Stephanie Otobo we are waiting for more proof ooooo.... ;
Is Sahara Reporter the accuser? or are they just reporting a story narrated to them by someone locked up at the police station?
flyca: All these energy put in this mantra airport would have constructed a standard alternative runway in Abuja airport. I haven't heard of any other place where a whole Capital airport is shutdown to rebuild runway! For 6 weeks!
If only the airport was maintained through the years as is normally done in sane countries, then maybe the runway wouldn't have deteriorated to the sorry level where it is today which needs total closure of the airport to fix.
Also to add to that, building a new runway isn't really the same thing as constructing a highway; besides, Abuja airport doesn't have that kind of traffic to warrant a new runway. The money should be used to maintain the existing runway to prevent such needless and embarrassing airport closures in future.
Logician: So if my destination is ABJ then you land in kaduna, who is going to bear the expense of taking me to abuja
Then you may just have to save your money by travelling to Abuja by road. Unfortunately, that's the nature of your country, ZERO maintenance culture! We always wait for things to be critically damaged before we think of maintenance, and then such late maintenance comes at a high cost as we have presently.
uncjay: Pls ooooo am I missing something here? What achievements are you talking about actually? Cos I see non....
Deep passionate hatred for Buhari is the primary reason behind most of the social (and by extension, some economic) problems in the country today. But with Buhari's out of the picture for a while now, his enemies (in their millions) have calmed down, and social tension in the system has reduced. Finally, those who develop hypertension on sighting the face of Buhari are now desperately trying to paint a picture that Nigeria is now becoming paradise because Buhari isn't around, hence their current scramble to worship his VP in order to make the boss look bad.
This isn't the first time the Naira has appreciated significantly following 'injection' of a chunk of forex into the system by the CBN. I particularly do not understand the widespread self inflicted amnesia that has inflicted so many Nigerians who keep praising the Naira appreciation last week as a peculiar thing.
Anyway, self inflicted amnesia isn't a new disease for Nigerians; very soon, we would get to the peak of the rainy season again and people would start clapping for politicians once again when power supply improves.
LIVEWireReport: (I am completely an independent analyst concerned about truth)
1. Sahara Reporters: Let's start off with where this news seemed to have originated from. Do we really trust this source? I for one have never done that since they surfaced, publishing certain stories in livid anonymity and getting away with it. Plus I know they're out to make money. That's all I have to say for them.
2. Festus Kenyamo, Reputable Doesn't Mean "Truthful": Since I was a kid, I've always heard about him. He's famous, he's notorious but does his fame mean he's a "truthful" guy in this case?
3. Man in Photo Evidence, Not Suleiman: The man in the picture shots I saw sincerely compared with Apostle Suleiman in other pictures of him, doesn't look like Suleiman. I have on many occasions seen close resemblance between people as many have notified me of resembling someone else in their lives. This man is a lookalike, not Apostle Suleiman. The photo in question looks doctored and manipulated. Look at it closely, especially the cheek and bald head areas - that's not Suleiman. Besides, this was a chat call and a video recording was possible to be made. If Stephanie really is out for vengeance, why didn't she record a video of the chat which would have been possible with just one button pushed, instead of pictures? Very interesting.
4. El-Rufai is Dead: Months earlier, when Apostle Suleiman took a hot swipe at El-Rufai with the "You're dead" statement, I told myself that the Apostle had swung too far. Is it possible to assume this is the genesis of this scandal - which will conclude that this is a conspiracy?
5. Stephanie - Her Motive, Hypnotized?.. Timaya Mentioned: Watching Stephanie speak, she seemed to me as someone hypnotized into believing a story that did not happen. The way she keeps opening her mouth agape after pertinent points and the sly movement of her eyes will tell a decent body language expert that she believes the story, and not that it actually happened to her. Let's look at her state of mind: is she hurt that he didn't marry her anymore? Or is she upset and vengeful that makes her eager to bring down the Apostle in the media? Why go to the media instead of the church? Besides she looks smart - would she honestly expect that the Apostle would leave his POWERFUL wife perfect in every way to marry herself Stephanie? Doesn't add up. Plus she mentioned she was supposed to shoot a video with Timaya recently. Why hasn't Timaya said anything yet about that claim? Is the claim true? Or was Timaya paid up to act as her alibi? I'm sure his PR team would have notified him by now.
6. Stephanie, Kimora Doesn't Care About Music: I "dug" in to discover more about this Kimora musician, Stephanie that is. Here's something interesting; I discovered that the only song she's ever done, both audio and video is titled, "His Girlfriend". For someone serious about "blowing", she has never put that song anywhere else except YouTube. Look at this next. One "Olosho Mozarti" account uploaded the video of the song on September 26, 2016. By this time, Stephanie had not even opened a YouTube account herself. Instead she opened it the next day, Sept 27, 2016. Funny. Now again watch this: Stephanie went on to upload this same video to YouTube not immediately after opening the account on Sept 27 but uploaded the music video to her account on DECEMBER 26 2016. How does it make sense? She doesn't care about music.
7. LIVEWire's CONCLUSION: This looks like a beautiful tactic that was planned way ahead of time by the people the Apostle has hurt. And it seems religiously motivated. It was a planned story meant to carry the theme of "you never know someone fully well", but the logical evidence in this report has put me in the COMPLETE CONFIDENCE that APOSTLE JOHNSON SULEIMAN the man of God is very innocent of these accusations.
P.S: Don't look for what to believe. Ask WHY.
Sahara reporters were simply reporting a story they were told by the girl after her arrest. They published the video interview of the girl speaking with her own mouth so I'm not sure i understand the SR accusation angle of this your analysis. They did not originate the story.
Likewise Festus Keyamo Chambers, they were hired by a client to come prosecute a case. So it's not exactly clear how you have roped them into your conspiracy.
chuksjuve: What happens to the job after the completion of the project?
Enough of all these sensational headline of create humongous number of jobs, which in effect is just contract unskilled labour..
Build infrastructure , institutions, create enabling environment that will make business to thrive, not unskilled short term labourers jobs.
Good move all the same.
For your landscape and garden services/ project.. Check my profile.. We bring nature closer to you
The railway when/if completed, will enable much more than you listed above. And then again, a job is a job when you look at it from a broad view. If 500,000 unskilled people are employed fully for the next say 4-5 years, it would have a very good impact on the overall economy.
I thought the blackmailers said the man wanted to marry the olosho because he needed sons?... Didnt know he actually has a son. This super story is still unfolding ..
Islamization Agenda crooners disbanded.... Rising dollar rates no longer a concern....
Inflation rates put aside.......
Fiery preachers and prophets of doom stopped prophesying..... Biafrans have stopped agitating and threatening.... Why?
Buhari is not in town.... But as soon as he announces his return, watch out for the return of all of the above. Abject Hypocrites
To be honest, the issue which led to the proliferation of ipob is just hatred for Buhari and this hatred is mostly fuelled by his audacity to defeat an amiable GEJ; their greatest nightmare is simply just Buhari. With the relative peace and reprieve we've had in the country and on social media from their wailings and irrational vituperations, I can't imagine what would happen to their hearts if/when Buhari returns standing tall. #SevereObiMgbawa
ANBAKO: Is it not the same rail that derailed last week? How many times will these politicians commission rail project? GEJ, BABA now Osinbajo.....it is well
Politicians never change!!!
This is a STANDARD GAUGE modern rail, the type which can handle high speed modern trains. The type you see around and which had the derailment incident last week is the pre-colonial NARROW GAUGE rail which can't handle fast trains.
Lol.. you go fear thread na. See very serious discussions going on speculating on who and who is paid. One doesn't even see this level of seriousness when critical national issues are discussed, all you'd see is just people lamenting and wailing but presenting no educative/entertaining substance in their arguments.
Walahi! how I wish this money really gets to my hands as alleged, cos sometimes I wonder what the real BMC people actually get paid to do; most probably they were selected based on the usual who-know-man or religion or tribe and the place must be filled with the usual suspects from you-know-where.
chipapa01: This is my first time commenting on Nairaland as i find pleasure in reading to writing, but i was moved with this topic. First of all, for someone to take a snapshot during video chat, then there are other reasons for doing that. As i can remember that, the last time i was having a video chat with my daughter and my wife, my wife took a snapshot of the video chat just to show it to my daughter when ever she wants to trick are that she (my daughter) is having a video chat with me. What i am trying to say is that, if there is no other hidden agenda, the miscreant (the girl) will never in any way take a snapshot of their video chat. So to what i really understand here is that, all this are just to create some bad names for the apostle, but one thing i will always say is that, they that touches and do harm to the anointed and prophet of God, they have done the same to God Almighty and they should be ready for God's punishment. One thing i know is that, the truth will always come out, no matter how you tried to hide it.
It is obvious that the girl is trying to blackmail the man, but the only issue is that you can hardly blackmail someone who hasn't compromised himself in one way or the other. My thought is that the man might have compromised himself some way, somehow, and that is why the lady thinks she can strike.
emmanuelpopson: I'm coming to terms that why wasn't all this shenanigans revealed before now but until the apostle condemned the southern Kaduna killings...I'm seeing a conspiracy theory here.. mind you these killings are religious motivated so the backlash focused on the man of God is to silence him finally and the killings will continue. The otobo Lady is alleged to be working for boko haram, whereby all I need to say is that this is pure blackmail n defamation of character..This is a war against Christianity and anti terrorist.. may God help Nigerians
This is certainly a battle from the underworld against the man's rising ministry. My only worry however is that he might have just fallen for the trap.
TonyeBarcanista: See as Mr Suleiman de smile sheepishly gan!
The babe no bad walahi ... May God save us from the sweeetness of the daughters of men
I swear.. only God himself can deliver us men from that sweetness... Too many great men have fallen for it, even angels from heaven fell for it by sneaking into the world to cut 1 hand.
The girl is obviously a blackmailer trying to blackmail the man, but it appears the man fell for the trap. God hep us men!
The Federal Government has successfully completed a 100-unit housing estate in Imo State under the Ministerial Pilot Housing Project of the Ministry of Power, Works and Housing.
The project was built through the Federal Mortgage Bank of Nigeria to provide low cost housing for public workers across Nigeria. The Minister of State for Power, Works and Housing, Mustapha Shehuri, said the Federal Government through the ministry would continue to strive to ensure that the challenge of housing deficit in Nigeria was surmounted. He added that it was government’s plan to build mass housing units across the country for public workers over the next three years through a Public-Private Partnership arrangement.
The minister was speaking in company of the Imo State Deputy Governor, Eze Madumere, who represented Governor Rochas Okorocha at the commissioning of the housing unit at Naze industrial layout in Owerri, the Imo State capital. He explained that national housing models have been designed and approved for each geo-political zone, to ensure the use of standard building materials.
“This housing unit is a Private-Public Partnership (PPP) arrangement which will be affordable to Nigerians, especially public servants.
“The Federal Government through the Ministry of Power, Works and Housing has signed a two billion Naira MoU with Shelter Afri (an African shelter company), to build affordable houses for Nigerians.
“So I want to call on workers in Imo State to take advantage of this scheme,” Shehuri said.
Hope To Middle Class Earners
Commending the Federal Government for the project, Mr Madumere said the project would go a long way to complement the policies of the State Government in providing affordable housing units for workers in the state. He disclosed that the State Government was already in talks with the labour union in Imo State on the matter.
“This housing scheme is apt and what the state needs at this critical time; Imo residents need roofs over their heads. This is giving hope to the middle class earners.
“For us, it is a commendable effort. My leader and Governor of Imo State, Owelle Rochas Okorocha, is ever ready to continue to partner with the Federal Government in such programmes and projects, since it is geared towards making life better for the people of Imo State,” the Deputy Governor said.
In his address, the Managing Director of the mortgage bank, Mr Richard Esin, said the bank and the project have become effective vehicles through which the Federal Government actualises its policy for the provision of affordable housing for Nigerians. He added that with the consistent contributions of the National Housing Fund Scheme, Nigerian workers would become eligible for mortgage loans at concessionary interest rates of 6% per annum.
“Through this scheme, over 2200 houses have been built for public workers by the Federal Government in all the six geo-political zones of the country. This in turn will surely address the housing deficit in the country,” Mr Esin said.
Climax of the occasion was the launch and cutting of the tape of the housing estate as the dignitaries were taken on a tour round the facility. The 100-unit housing estate comprises of 48 units of 3-bedroom fully detached bungalows, 40 units of 2-bedroom semi-detached bungalows and 12 units of 1-bedroom terrace.
As disclosed by the mortgage bank, the sum of 592.3 million Naira was invested for the development of the 100-unit housing estate.
nyabingi: Working on the runway got noting to do with plane landing if only the scheduled maintenance is carried out at night or just two days, no where in the world has this kind of thing hapened, the truth is that Buhari is about to be smuggled into the country through Abuja Airport within the stipulated days and the cabals don't want you to see the vegetable he has became, its as simple as that!
Everybody suddenly develops high technical knowhow overnight and begin to speak on issues they have absolutely no clue on. The runway could be fixed overnight, or at nights and you are sure you are smarter than the contractors or govt that thinks otherwise?..
Oh i forgot, according to your divinely wise theory, the planned closure of the airport is in line with a plan to smuggle Buhari's body into the country. The plan is so perfect to the point that they announced the planned closure of the airport since mid-December 2016 when Buhari was still alive. http://www.vanguardngr.com/2016/12/abuja-airport-closed-6-weeks-feb-march-2017-sirika/
You must really be proud of yourself for this rare wisdom.
