chukwuebuka65: I have heard this line for a thousand times, that nodejs is not a language but a runtime. But nobody is calling python or php a runtime, but they are all scripting languages. To run a python file , you type “python <file name>” or you include a shebang on top of the file same as nodejs , php, bash etc. But these nodejs guys decided only nodejs out of all the scripting languages is a runtime. And it’s not like you can duplicate any frontend javascript, and run it with node and it will work. The api’s available to them are different, nodejs uses common js, has some inbuilt modules like the path module which frontend javascript doesn’t. I know nodejs makes use of chrome v8 javascript engine. But I believe they didnt copy and paste the codes, there must be some modifications. It would be better to say they have some similarities . But nodejs for me is a scripting language that has a runtime just like other scripting languages like bash , powershell , ruby, perl etc has their own runtime. Because nodejs adopted javascript as its scripting language doesn’t disqualify it from being a language.

Users can create bank account, deposit funds into their accounts and transfer money from their accounts using just USSD.
A full USSD bank account just using USSD dialingrequest.
Very good suggestion, but won't this require serious capitalization and license before launch?. It will also require extensive testing that can take at least a year for approval. The main issue is not even with third party apps but banks , if a bank has a downtime in their system definitely the third party apps will not process or delay in processing its transaction.

There is even a glut of fintech apps in Nigeria at the moment.
The problem is the infrastructure on which they are built on.
For banks, a lot of them have old core banking deploys that the fintech apps need to interact with via APIs. Some of them are not scaled to handle hundreds of thousands of requests at a time.
Apart from core banking, there are other middle-wares that need to sign off every transaction. Authentication, fraud prevention, money laundering….
Now add the third party services that the server needs to interface with to process the transaction. Cards, Settlements, Other banks, etc
Now, if any of this points create a hotspot (due to bad codes, bad network, timeouts etc), you have dropped transactions.
If you build the best fintech app in the world today and you bring it to Nigeria, you would need to account for what happens when third parties fail.
Great analysis, maybe there will be a genius Fintech that will come up with ways to develop highly adaptable high performance apps for the Nigerian market..
With the current cashless policies being implemented in Nigeria and unreliable banking systems to meet the huge demand in transfers and other virtual services. Can't a reliable fintech company or app be developed to counter unreliable bank transfers that can take hours or even days before transfers ?

Devdevdev: Coding is the hardest thing I have ever done. I was once a medical student, then I changed to engineering. I've done pharmacology, biochemistry, thermodynamics. All this pale in comparison to JavaScript, which still entends to other stuff like react, redux, typescript, NODEJS etc.
And JavaScript isn't even the hardest language, there is Java and #C and C++.
Even ordinary CSS that isn't even a programming language can take months to understand and most people never get to understand it, let alone get proficient at it.
Don't believe all the things you read online from people that want to entice you to pay money to learn to code in six months. They are liars. Don't be lured in by the testimonies you read of people getting high paying jobs after learning to code for few months. These are outliers. The majority of those learning to code either give up after few weeks or struggle for many months, even years, before they understand the language.
Coding is hard. It's frustrating, enraging and depressing. You will have to sit at a place staring at a computer screen trying to figure out an error that made your code not to compile successfully. You can spend hours and even days trying to fix this bug. You will visit stack overflow, YouTube, Reddit, blogs and read documentation and still won't solve it. Sometimes you will question if this is the right career choice. Sometimes you will feel like picking up your computer and flinging it across the room. There are times you will even contemplate suicide. Trust me I've been there.
Coding is very difficult. If you are lazy, just don't waste your time learning to code. Learn a trade or learn some other skill like writing. If you are the type that doesn't like being alone for long, don't bother learning to code, because you will end up getting bored and dumping the career path.
Coding requires a very high intellect and acute problem solving skills. If you are not good with logic, don't waste your time learning to code. If basic maths topics like basic calculus and algebra confuses you, don't waste your time learning to code because you clearly don't have a brain for it.
A word is enough for the wise.
I used to be an accountant and switched to web development in 2020. Coding isn't that difficult if you understand your learning style, I didn't have a mentor as I learn best on my own.
From ur post maybe u tried to learn Almost everything at the same time, I always advice people I train u dnt need to master or know every syntax in a programming language that will be insane. Take baby steps and know ur learning style while practicing little by little if u learn better in classroom environment look for a mentor.
I have been able to teach myself html, css, bootstrap, JavaScript, jQuery, react.js, php, python,sql,bumpy and panda excluding content management systems like WordPress, joomla I use also in just 2 years and 6 months from August 2020 till now.
Note: I didn't learn all dese at the same time neither do I know every single syntax in those languages, in all these i took time to master JavaScript but just learned the others so that I can manipulate their syntax and expand my knowledge. Do I need to learn all dese technologies to be a good developer? No, there are people that have landed good jobs with just html, css and JavaScript (react or angular) only.
My advice: 1.) If u are really passionate about Tech or web development take time to learn the basics one step at a time and build ur way from there.
2) Dnt focus on learning too many things at the same time u will get confused.
3) If u are a classroom learner and u cannot learn things urself look for a physical mentor to train u.
4) Do not try to cram every syntax in a programming language or mark up language, google is ur friend.
Lastly, Coding isn't for everyone take out time to discover if it is for u or not. Dnt discourage anyone here coding has opened doors for me and I dnt think I would be going back to being an accountant anymore.

You learn web development by doing practical projects, practical projects will send your knowledge to the moon. Learn make mistakes and learn from them till you are comfortable.
Secondly learning too many things or multiple languages at the same time won't help at all as you won't have time to give one good focus.
