Please I need an urgent advice. I applied on 18th of September. I received another mail on the 19th to check my mail for a new message... After logging in and checking application status... I saw confirmation of submission as the heading, I then went on to download the PDF. My thoughts were it's just a confirmation correspondence... When applying I uploaded all documents accordingly including the data page of my passport. I'm kinda confused because till now I haven't gotten a Biometrics instruction letter. I don't know what's going wrong.
Pls, see the image below.
I guess this is your first application. They simply mean that you should go through all that you have submitted again. "confirmation of submission" . The meaning is clear.
So please if you haven't, kindly confirm your application so that you can get the go for biometric msg.
I wish you goodluck

Hello Ochibuogwu5,

This is the 12th application i have seen for September applicants that has been refused with same generic reasons and most of these application was refused within 14 -19 days, something is not adding up from the end of IRCC.

The first step to re-application should requesting for the gcms notes even if it might be a generic reason.

I urge refused (September) applicants to always try to notify the house so as to build proper observations and come up with best suitable ways to advise or guide prospect applicants.
True... Something is not adding up. I know some applicants on this thread(observers) who got refusals this period possibly with same reasons who have not said anything but keeps reading comments. The truth is what you just said, please let's all come out to inform the house. This is one way the house will be able to guess or ascertain what is really going on with IRCC.
There are a few here who will do research and or get informations to help prospective applicants and even those of us who wish to re-apply. Although 50% of my mind is out of Canada study visa already. It is better to try other countries because abroad Na abroad. If one still wish to enter Canada one can still do it from else where instead of wasting time and resources on a result of less than 10 out of 100 or more applicants for approval.
May God see us through.

The refusal letter just dropped . Here are the reason for refusal.
Thank you for your interest in studying in Canada. After careful review of your study permit
application and supporting documentation, I have determined that your application does not meet
the requirements of the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act (IRPA) and Immigration and
Refugee Protection Regulations (IRPR). I am refusing your application on the following grounds:
• I am not satisfied that you will leave Canada at the end of your stay, as stipulated in
subsection 216(1) of the IRPR, based on your travel history.
• I am not satisfied that you will leave Canada at the end of your stay, as stipulated in
subsection 216(1) of the IRPR, based on your family ties in Canada and in your country of
residence.
You are welcome to reapply if you feel that you can respond to these concerns and can
demonstrate that your situation meets the requirements. All new applications must be
accompanied by a new processing fee.

@Frank, @naijaforeigner,@justmellow and other gurus in the house Please how do i tackle this?

i applied on the 3rd August
We all know about the BVL and then refusal trend by the Nairobi boys.
Anyway, sorry about the refusal. Take heart and take courage from it. Like I always say, its a refusal and not a denial. Re-access your application, order for your GCMS note and re-fire or better still channel your resources and energy to another country. I said another country because I feel there is something going on with cic this period especially this September. It's been long since I see any approvals here and I guess many are still hiding their refusal or don't want to relate it here. You are the 7th person I have read on this thread with same reasons of refusal.

Meanwhile, how to tackle these reasons can be found here on this thread. It has been answered many times even today. But remember, GCMS note has the main explanation.
I wish you goodluck.

Thanks bro,
I submitted on 29th August and they sent the response on 18th September,
I submitted my family ties very well in my form and also my sister who stays in USA supplied her financial statement details as my sponsor.
I did not submit much details about current employment details.
however someone said I need to get my case-file before I re-apply it it necessary? if yes how can I apply for my case-file release?
Yes your case file aka GCMS note. It's important that you order for it. It will give you a clearer view as to the VO's reasons for the refusal. You can check google on how to order GCMS note or contact that lady on this thread that has helped a few.

Click on the correspondence letter and it will download or open as PDF.
Quick question, did you do a medical upfront? Or called for medicals? Has your medical been passed?

Please what could the owner of this application do *correctly when re-apply*?
Please what does it take to get back *ones previous application case file*?
This same set of refusal reasons(Ties, employment and travel history) it's the take away cic gave or is giving to applicants this September. This makes it the 6th I have seen on this thread. I am guessing this app it also less than a month before it was refused.
Anyway, don't loose hope. It's a refusal not a denial.
Now to ans you, travel history has nothing to do with students but may be a +
Home or away ties: I don't know how you packaged your app. But be sure you have sufficient home ties. I still don't understand that ties in Canada part though. Gurus can help on that.
Employment: A good job, leave letter, reference letter for the company or boss, maybe salary also reflecting in your SOA, explaining how your proposed study will in return help improve your employment here and or help others too.
This is the little I know. Others can help

Hello Everyone,

I am in the process of applying for MBA in Thompson Rivers University but need clarification on the application.
I have a first degree in Agric and changed my field by having a second bachelors degree in Applied Accounting. My Question is Should i exclude the first bachelor degree in Agric from the application since its not relevant to the proposed discipline (MBA) ?

Can it affect my chances of getting admission in the school if included?

Thanks
My response will be, there is no need to include it and you already answer the question yourself "since its not relevant to the proposed discipline"

Yes it may affect both chances of admission and visa

Greetings to the house,

About travel history, do they mean if the applicant has lived in another country for 6 months consecutively or a total of 6 months in a lifetime.

Answers are needed please.
Which travel history are you talking about?
Are talking about refusal reason and while filling a form?

The reason I'm applying for graduate diploma is because I have a 2:2 if not would have gone for a straight master. Are you telling me it's also difficult securing graduate diploma admission with a 2:2?
I intend to sponsor myself. What's are the cons of sponsoring myself? What's the meaning of SOA people have been talking about here. Thanks.
Oh... And SOA means statement of account.
Sometimes you don't just ask all these questions, you can help yourself by searching for the meaning as related to travelling abroad.

Sure you should be able to get a PGD/PGC program with your 2.2. But make sure what ever program you choose is a progression either academically or career wise.

To sponsor yourself is not a bad thing as long as you have enough funds to cover for all expenses (tuition fees, LE, flight) at least for one year.

Good afternoon guys, am applying Canadian study Visa, I want to use my uncle in the US as sponsor the questions are
1. Apart from Datapage of passport of my sponsor,Statement of Account, Tax clearance and sponsorship letter is there any other docunment I need from him

2. He is my fathers cousin and we bear same surname, how do I further prove ties with him
3.
1. Work ID, Consent letter and birth certificate (if possible). Photocopy is fine.

2. Live it at what it is "uncle" and a family tree to show relationship.

Extra: To further prove his sponsorship, let him transfer your tuition fee (first semester or first year) and or LE amount into your account. Then he will mention it in his letters and you also mention it in yours.
GoodLuck

Good day nairaland fam, please I need help from gurus here, just got a refusal and the 3 reasons where:
1. Insufficient funds to pay tuition for my the duration of my proposed program.
2. Insufficient funds to pay transportation cost to and from Canada for myself and any accompanying family member.
3. Insufficient funds to maintain myself without working in Canada.
I never knew this refusal can be so disheartening, gosh! embarassed lipsrsealed
Submitted online 17th July for MEng civil engineering, had a BEng in civil engineering with 2 years experience(self employed with CAC registration).
Tuition fee for entire program is 30k CAD (I already Paid 4k CAD tuition deposit)
Sponsor is elder brother with account balance covering entire tuition plus living expenses for a year. I did not include my personal account statement as at time of application due to a very low balance and inflow. Could it be just my account that is the problem?
PLEASE WHAT MAY BE WRONG WITH MY APPLICATION?
SOMEBODY HELP! I NEED UR URGENT AND EXPERIENCED SUGGESTIONS. Thanks
Yes not adding your account killed your app as regards to the refusals reasons. Also minding your age which you didn't state, you should have your own money.

Still no enough details to guess your current situation. But biometric validation letter is aka BVL. Going by recent trend, final decision comes after this within 48hrs. So I expect that your finish decision should be on your cic account by now. Except if you have been called for a medical or upfront passed, then it's not good going by recent updates.
As regards supporting documents, I think they wanted some more documents from you and I wonder how you missed such.

Good morning fellow nairalanders,

I applied for a study visa through paper route mid June 2019.
I did an upfront medical and indicated that i had done biometrics for an earlier application in 2015 which was previously denied.
It has been silence since then but i got an email on monday from Nairobi saying my biometrics was valid and accepted and now just got another email that my processed passport is ready for collection at the VFS office.

The suspence eh!
Why cant they just tell me my fate in an email?
Please is there a way i can know my fate as i wont be available till sometime next week to go to VFS office.
The first thing was to link your application online. If you had done that, then you will see the progress or process and know your faith.
What date did you submit exactly?
This biometric you got, is it a biometric validation letter?
TravelRe: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 16 by Obehi44: 4:25pm On Aug 15, 2019
I don't think that dollar sign is an issue at all.
The Canadian money is 'dollar's and dollar only have one sign which is '$'
Secondly if you check the letter of acceptance where they stated the estimated tuition fee, it is writing like this " $16,695.41, Cdn " exactly. Not even CAD.
So let's not bother about such. I had to go and check just so I am sure.

The dude's SOP had noticeable blunders (use of 'is' instead of 'are', etc) and other grammatical errors like unnecessary use of capital letters coupled with minor mistakes of putting $ and CAD in one sentence. e.g ($10,000 CAD). His reason for choosing Canada over the US, UK etc were vague and weak. His reasons for switching from web design, printing etc to psychology wasn't even convincing. Man even included all his IT-related certificates as part of his personal documents for a course in Psychology. He said Psychology would improve his entrepreneurship skills.. HOWWWW? Dude's SOP showed his passion of going into Business, Computing and Psychology... all at once. OP should have just applied for a BSc in Computing-related areas considering his IT certifications. To cap it all, I think his SOP was the major reason he got denied. *MY OPINION*
Please is putting the dollar sign $ together with CAD an issue? Why is it so and what is the correct format?
