There are plenty of real reasons women stay with abusive men. Some of which include: Believing Abuse is Normal: A person may not know what a healthy relationship looks like, perhaps from growing up in an environment where abuse was common, and they may not recognize that their relationship is unhealthy. Fear: A person may be afraid of what will happen if they decide to leave the relationship Shame: It’s often difficult for someone to admit that they’ve been abused. They may feel they’ve done something wrong by becoming involved with an abusive partner. They may also worry that their friends and family will judge them. Low Self-Esteem: When an abusive partner constantly puts someone down and blames them for the abuse, it can be easy for the victim to believe those statements and think that the abuse is their fault. Cultural/Religious Reasons: Traditional gender roles supported by someone’s culture or religion may influence them to stay rather than end the relationship for fear of bringing shame upon their family. Financial Dependance: Financial abuse is common, and a victim may be financially dependent on their abusive partner. Without money, access to resources or even a place to go, it can seem impossible for them to leave the abuse.. CosmicPhoenix: -They are truly in love with their abuser and believe the promises and lies. “True love always wins” right? -They have been abused all their life, by their family first and then partners etc, so they don’t fully recognize the abuse -They believe their partner is the only one who’ll ever love them (and in some cases it is the only person who ever showed them any love) and if they were single their life would be even more miserable -They are married and they want to honour the commitment -They believe they deserve to settle for a mediocre relationship since they think of themselves as mediocre -The people around them keep supporting the abuser and silencing them, leaving them feeling powerless -They are economically or emotionally dependent on the abuser -The ups of the relationship are so wonderful that the victim feels like in a way the relationship is still giving them something good and is still worth their love despite the abuse Seriously, there are thousand reasons. I could go on for several days and I would still miss something. 6 Likes 1 Share |

What would you do if you found yourself in a situation like this, where your lecturer wants to sleep with you as a girl, and you are still looking for a way to avoid that, then a cultists starts asking you out. TIPS TO AVOID CULT BOYS IN SCHOOL. Follow the first two I listed for the lecturers. 1. IF YOU MUST DATE, DATE ON A LOW KEY: If you have any boyfriend in school, it’s better the relationship be kept on a very low key. Cult boys are like predators, once they see you with another guy their urge to just be the one in that position grows strong. If you are already dating from home before you came to school, stick to that boy. 2. Don’t party in school, your main life in school should be room, lecture halls, library, and back to room. Cult boys love to party and cause trouble in parties. That’s one of the easiest place to get noticed by cultists. 3. Whenever a guy in school asks you out, please turn then down politely cos you never know who he is. Some girls take delight in turning down guys rudely and this may cause trouble for you. It is almost impossible that through out your stay in school, no guy would ask you out. Even if you are ugly. It’s just the law of life. When a guy asks you out, politely turn him down. Show courtesy and appreciate him for wanting to date you, and give him good reasons why you may not want to date him. Funke had been in school for a year…. She gained admission last year and for her that was like the biggest moment of her life. Funke was at the top of her life, she was the Queen of the universe. She got in school, got all her hot dresses and was rocking them in school…. However deep down Funke, is a good girl, from a good family background, but the thrill of being in school overwhelmed her. One day her Bly113 lecturer called her into his office, and made passes at her… Telling her that she needed to sleep with him or else she would keep writing Bly113 till she’s a grandmother. Funke’s world was shattered, she knew she was an intelligent girl and could pass the course, but not with the lecturer deliberately failing her. Funke wouldn’t take it. She decided to report to the school authority before going to her parents. On her way to the Admin, she heard the usual cat call guys make when a girl passes them….. Soon the cat calls changed to “Tsssss Tsssss” indicating that one of them was calling her….. She kept walking, after all her name wasn’t “Tsssss” a smallish looking boy, stepped up in front of her “Are you not hearing your name?” he said arrogantly…. And without wasting much time, made his intentions known to her…..Funke was very angry at him….. She already had so much problems on her head… She angrily warned him never to step in her way. The boy revealed who he was to her and promised to make life unbearable for her, and threatened that if she didn’t submit to him. She’d be raped not just by him 7 Likes |

The real person at fault in the Acrimony movie was Mel's elder sister. If not for her, she'd have stayed to enjoy the fruit of her labour. He wasn't a con man, as Melinda's sisters assumed he was. He was an inventor with a spectacular invention—one that eventually made both of them rich. The moral of “Acrimony” seems to be: Leave a bad man, especially one who cheated on you before marriage and leeches off your financial resources — unless he has poured his life into the dream of inventing a self-recharging battery, in which case the bonds of matrimony are sacrosanct and no sacrifice is too great 3 Likes 1 Share |

Op! I understand how you feel at the moment, carrying so many responsibilities at a very young age and at the same time wanting to be educated. Firstly, your mom health is very important and should be given all the necessary attention. Secondly, be wary of those sending you a pm claiming to be a survey or developer because I see you very young and not well experienced in life, whatever you do, ensire you run It by your mom Thirdly, you mum choose property 1 for reasons best know to her, take out time to find out why, it could be your dad did it to cater for her and offsprings. Finally, don't be in a rush to take any rash decision the naira is falling and the cost if living has skyrocketed/are getting expensive. Decision like this involve a trusted family members preferably from your mother's side. |

This is a true life story (names have been changed) My hubby came home one night calm and happy. I was surprised but happy. He's been out of control for sometime now, actually since I lost my dad 2yrs ago. He became the CEO since my dad died, it was on the will for my husband to become the CEO and my baby brother the Managing director. I have done everything in my power to make things right but whatever I do is not good enough. This wasn't the same Tayo that I married. My parents were rich but their two children were trained well. I was working in my dad's company until I had my second child. My dad told me to stay at home and take care of the kids because I refused to get a maid and my grandma that was helping passed away at the time. (I lost my mom five years ago too) I enjoyed every minute of being a wife and a mom until I lost my dad. My husband came in that fateful day about three months ago, looked at me & said "I don't love you Remi, I never did. I appreciate everything you have done but it is time I move on with my life. You can stay in this house, keep the cars and I'll arrange for monthly allowance for you and the kids. If your brother agrees with my lawyer's terms, I'll pay him generously for his share in the company. Thanks to your father, I own 70% of the company. Don't try to fight this, it is clearly written in your father's will". I woke up the following day at the hospital and by my side was dad's lawyer, she looked at me and smiled! Two weeks later, the lawyer came to see me at home and to my surprise, she brought with her a letter handwritten by my dad. I wish I could hug dad at that very minute. There was a clause in the will, if Tayo leaves me without any fault of mine or if he dies before me, I have to take over the company. Dad knew I could handle it, I've been working in the company since my first year in the university! Tayo came to the house two days after I saw dad's letter, begging me to forgive him. What would you do if you were in the woman's shoes? To forgive and accept 5 Likes |

Ambiitiouscent:Don't dignify them with any response, you have left that horrible & babaric lifestyle behind you. They are only jealous of you because you now have a life while they don't have what you have. No cultist want to see you be useful. We all cannot be begging you and you would not listen to any of us. Just log off take time off NL and come back. I know the pain & anger it is to loose such opportunities. I love you and would like to see share your experience to the younger ones. Happy new month. 16 Likes |
