There is nothing like slander here. Did he not collect 200m and 600m? What was It for? Has he said it?

Secondus will go down and nobody will be willing to go down with him when the time comes.

Lai spoke the truth (this time around) and secondus himself knows it. Don't say I didn't say so when it all goes down and secondus begins to beg for meetings with the president for a soft landing. cheesy
If Lai has the evidence why not prosecute Secondus? Simple question
PoliticsRe: Uche Secondus Gives Lai Mohammad 48 Hours To Retract Statement Or Face Lawsuit by obi58: 9:37pm On Mar 31, 2018
Butterflyleo:
Prosecution is a process and our judiciary is slow and easily compromised. Evidence isn't always available easily as the politicians always try to cover up their tracks just in case of situations like this. However someone well trained to snoop would easily uncover tracks left behind.

PDP is digging the grave of their own people with their talkativeness. Why didn't secondus go to court all this while when his hidden assets were exposed and when he was said to have received monies under Jonathan? If his hands were clean, he would have done so? What he is doing now is trying to leverage on the fact that he has not been declared guilty yet his name is being mentioned as a looter of public funds but he forgets that his name was mentioned in the 200m and 600m fund looting much earlier so why did he not react then with a law suite threat?

I repeat he and his lawyers are fooooooolish.
Bro we are not in a military junta. The judiciary is there for a purpose and nobody will be excused for taking the laws into their hands because of some baseless presumption about the integrity of the judicial system.

Making slanderous allegations without backing it up with evidence is just going to lead to further embarrassment for the FG. It's even worse in this instance as Uche Seconds is planning to sue Lai and not the FG for those libellous accusations.

Remember when the Army was sued and asked to pay damages in excess of 700mil for the foolish action of one of their officers some time back? Let's watch who will blink first. Lai or Secondus
PoliticsRe: Uche Secondus Gives Lai Mohammad 48 Hours To Retract Statement Or Face Lawsuit by obi58: 9:04pm On Mar 31, 2018
Butterflyleo:
Secondus is really dumb. He should rather be concerned about how all his hidden assets which were not declared were dug out and how his financial transactions were being uncovered.

He and his lawyers need to realise that there must be so much more on him that the FG is yet to release and as politically smart as many are, they could be witholding some vital information for such a confrontation such as this by secondus. One thing I know is that secondus is only barking and will never get the chance to sue. Even when he does, the counter litigation will drown him. grin

This will be the proverbial "using your hand to dig your own grave" outcome for him.
Bro..

There you go again... If the FG have evidence of looting by these people why not prosecute them? Why not present your irrefutable evidence before a court of competent jurisdiction and let a Judge rule on these cases?
This is a democracy and we are supposed to observe rule of law no be so? And correct me if I'm wrong but last time I checked the onus remains on the prosecution to prove guilt. Why is that so difficult? Why try these people in the Court of Public opinion when you have had 3 years to arrest and convict these 'looters' if they actually had evidence.

Why are people selling theirs off? is there an inherent problem with it... I am confused, want to make a choice between 2005camry, 2007 Camry and 2007 accord, all Nigerian use. But I am afraid about the keg issue with Honda...

Oga Gazzuz has advised on one of his thread that I should go for the Honda... But I want to be sure. Which will you advice me to go for bro and why?
My advice to you is that you should go and find out the cost of parts of the 3 you listed above as you will definitely need to work on the chosen car sooner or later. So that should be your priority. Maintenance costs and availability of skilled technicians. To drive big car sweet but better soup... Hope you get my drift?

To me it's wiser to gather my small money buy clean sound toks wey I sure go serve me wella for some years than an expensive Naija used unless of course you are prepared to spend. That is not to say all Naija used cars are bad but after being subjected to Nigerian roads for some years unless the owner has an excellent maintenance culture. All the best bro.

Reliability and space go for Camry

Fuel economy go for Corolla

Prestige and comfort go for EOD (also has good fuel economy)

PS. 05 eod has better suspension and transmission than 03 EOD so is more reliable. But all in, Toyota cars are much more user friendly as you are more likely to get a kazeem to fix your car anywhere you are stranded than if it's a Honda. Try to stay away from v6 to avoid stories that touch.

Butterflyleo:
Why can't the youth of today simply think? Why do they go to school if they end up still foolishly believing anything they are told without analysing it properly?

Reno is simply saying a mega ton of nonsense. When a man fails to plan he plans to fail. Jonathan had no economic plan for Nigeria and was simply on a spending spree trying to deceptively keep our naira low through forex without knowing that he was simply piling up major problems in other sectors of the economy.

Even okonji iweala warned him about this and urged him to save but he would have none of it. Any leader with a short term plan is not fit to be a leader at all.

Buhari is working for the long term. There is something the whole world needs and can never do without and this is FOOD. Be you rich or poor you must eat and the worlds population is growing and this translated to even more need for food.

Oil can only get us so far as we are now seeing with the advent of electric cars and the gradual phasing out of petrol based vehicles. We will suffer if we do not diversify through looking inward and local production as against imports.

It may seem difficult at the initial stages but they say necessity is the mother of invention. Nobody desires a difference when all seems rosy. We all now get to work when all looks bad.

Our economy is experiencing a major shift in the right direction (if you ask me) and the process may be gradual but in the long run it is our best option.

The problem with Nigerians is our impatient nature and our lack of will to see anything through. If other notable countries can restrict a lot of imports, why should Nigerias case be any different?

China as highly populated as they are, seriously regulate imports and their economy is better for it as a lot of manufacturing now goes on within. Enough to fend for her teeming population. We are the largest African nation and we need to see that if we had continued throwing away things as we were doing in the days of Jonathan, one day we would have woken up and seen that Nigeria had been placed on OLX for sale as our economy would not longer be sustainable.

In the days before the oil boom we ONLY had agriculture and Nigeria was great and that was even the time our title (the giant of Africa) came about. Today we are being ridiculed by outsiders because we first ridiculed ourselves. The world needs Nigeria and we are placing ourself where we belong in the midst of nations that matter through buhari. I am not his fan but I am a fan of his dogged policies which I believe, when sustained will take us where we deserve as a people.

Reno is a clown and foolish for thinking the way he is thinking despite not living in Nigeria. The country he is in right now he should try and first find out how they became great and see if Nigeria is not towing the same path right now under buhari.

Mynd44 ignore all these economic saboteurs we have on nairaland who have pea for brains. I thank God for buhari as he has been sent for such a time as this. God bless Nigeria and the President.
Complete balderdash. Why do people have such selective reasoning?

Have you forgotten so quickly the decision of the governor's forum to kick afainst the setup of the sovereign wealth funds?

deomelo is winning, he's raised credible points but it's not really about who wins. Obi58 is much more enlightened than he/she was in 2013 and 2015 when the comments on AKS were made, it's well documented that Akpabio's project sums were overbloated.

You both have good heads with sound analytical skills, put them to better use rather than going at each other like this. Best wishes.
Perhaps Akpabio's projects were bloated but NOBODY can fault the quality of the product which were done to the highest possible standards. He transformed every inch of the state! From awarded contracts, to world class roads, to state of the art facilities.... He touched lives. Till date Akwa Ibom remains a land of opportunity.

The question in 2013 was about the economic significance of the cinema which in my opinion was highly ludicrous in this age of tourism development. It was not about the cost of executing that project. And even then I acknowledged the fact that even if funds were misappropriated, the dividends of democracy was available to all and sundry.

That does not detract from the fact that tax paying citizens reserve the right to ask questions about how public funds are spent. This is not about ethnicity or tribe and anyone who makes it about that should be ashamed. Today, nairaland is strewn by careless comments along ethnic lines and people choose to be emotive instead of address issues rationally.

This I think is the basis for the FOI bill.

Sadly for you and your ignorant, unintelligent and hypocritical rubbish, where you are from is even irrelevant, the issue here is you in one breath defending akpabio building a cinema and lambasting people for questioning the cost, but fast forward to today, all of a sudden you have every right to question projects and cost in Lagos state.

You are not only a damn hypocrite, you are a silly lair.

Please keep quiet, you have zero credibility.
Yeah yeah... Call me crazy Call me fool... What again?

Whatever rings your bell Olodo. Joining words with a one dimensional plank like you is akin to asking a blind man to tell you the time. If you still don't understand the economic impact of that cinema which till today is still a tourist destination then why am I wasting words on you. That should not translate to not holding any government accountable for the judicious use of public funds or otherwise. That is a citizen's Civic duty.

I'll keep showing you own own lies and hypocrisy.

When I challenged you back in 2013 about akpabio and what he spent on a needless cinema, you said we should not ask about cost and you defended the rubbish cinema instead.

So, why is cost such a big issue to you when it comes to Lagos state?

Or you only reserve the rights to question other states and not your own village where even though akpabio budgeted more money than Lags state and the rest of Nigeria, but he commissioned on 1 football field, 1 cinema, 1 library, 1 uncompleted hospital, a few roads and 1 flyover.

Of what use and relevance are you to your own state if you can not ask any questions about cost and lack of projects to justify akpabio's largest budget in the history of Nigeria?

Silly hypocrite.
Funny enough Im not from Akwa Ibom or Lagos but I've lived in both and without a shadow of doubt, development per capita is far greater than in Lagos. In case you don't understand what that means, it means a better standard of life is accessible to the common man in Akwa Ibom than Lagos where the government is spending the vast majority of funds to transform the wealtheir sections of the state like Lekki at the expense of the poorer sections like Ikotun.

You know what? I don't think you are a true Lagosian born and bred. Lagosians are way more balanced, exposed and well rounded. Probably youre one of those Aregbesola misfits seeking political handouts and relevance.

When I challenged you back in 2013 about akpabio and what he spent on a needless cinema, you said we should not ask about cost and you defended the rubbish cinema instead.

Go and read what I wrote then again. This time slowly so you can understand what I wrote. There is no part of Akwa Ibom that was not covered by the government of the day with projects that would stand the test of time! How does that translate to a defence of cost?

So, why is cost such a big issue to you when it comes to Lagos state? Ignorance truly is bliss. Asking about the cost of a project does that automatically mean that the project was inflated? Oga abeg park well.

Ignorant comment... Please visit the state and stop displaying your ignorance for all and sundry. Do you know how many roads were constructed in Akpabio's 8 years and not by one mushroom construction company o! By Julius Berger? I'm still asking if till now your 1 trillion naira a year government has been able to construct an alternative to the Third Mainland Bridge or more simply put a stop to the agbero and omonile miscreants littering the state all around and inflicting more hardship on honest, industrious and well meaning taxpayers? 1. First, learn how to quote. I think it's better not to quote correctly than to speak bad English any day any time. Don't you think so too? grin

2. Your quote justifying akpabio's spending and project cost was from 2015 when I questioned the need and what he spent on a common Cinema (Only foolish and irresponsible governments invest in and build Cinema)
Wise man please ask why Dubai is spending so much on tourism perhaps they too are also foolish.

3. You defended akpabio and just like your quote from 2015 that I posted, you argued that cost was irrelevant, so why is cost relevant today in Lagos state?

Obviously, you either have a sad case of ignorance or gross hypocrisy.

4. Talking about IGR and budgets, I proved to you in that thread back in 2013 that Akpabio with just 5 million people posted larger budgets than Lagos state with 20 million people

5. For example in 2012, akpabio's budget was N522 billion while Lagos state's budget was N485 and Fashola with 20 million people still delivered more projects than akabio with just 5 million people a dozen times over.
Can you name some of those mega projects Lagos executed with their jumbo monthly allocations and IGR sir? How has life improved development wise per capita in Lagos with refuse strewn across the roads and land use charge?

6. After akpabio's 8 years in office, he commissioned only 1 cinema, 1 library, 1 football field and 1 uncompleted hospital apart from the few roads and 1 flyover he fooled people with

Typical APC propaganda as usual: like I said 5 years ago you need to visit Akwa Ibom so that the scales will fall out of your eyes and you will start asking what your government is doing with yearly IGR of 1trillion naira except enriching few at the expense of the majority, conducting a sprinkling of substandard projects as protective colouring and keeping the vast majority of people in adversity and penury.

7. I don't remember you asking akpabio what he did with the largest state budgets in the history of Nigeria.

You are your kind are just hate mongering bigots, bad bele losers, hypocrites and disgruntled elements.
Pot calling kettle black! Simple question how much was spent?

You jokers hate the fact that Lagos state is putting your backward villages and village leaders to shame
Tribalistic rant as usual.... Meanwhile I'm sure you visit other states and expect to be treated well there?

Is asking for the cost of executing a project a complaint? We have engineers all over nairaland. Why must people view a glass as half empty instead of half full?

If you had an iota of shame and commonsense, you won't come here to type trash. You Igbos are pathetic hypocrites. How many of your Governors have you held accountable? TA Orji is the worst Governor in the history of this country. After he ruined your futures for 8 years, your fathers bestowed upon him the title of Ochendo Ndigbo.

Look at that Alapere roundabout very well, your children are coming there to hawk gala and fan yogo if you don't get out of Nairaland and hold your worthless Governors accountable.
Yet again another bigot. Are taxpayers not entitled to ask questions about executed projects? What does that have to do with a person's ethnicity? BTW I'm not even Ibo. But even if I was, as a resident and tax paying citizen of Lagos State am I not entitled to ask questions?

Why are people so childish that they cannot express their opinions with rational non emotive arguments instead of just spewing meaningless insults as if there is a lack of education in Lagos State?

As far as I'm concerned, Lagos still remains the centre of excellence and will always be but we as citizens have to hold government accountable in the discharge of their duties to ensure judicious use of public funds and not start spewing forth shameless tribalistic and nepotistic sentiments at the slightest instance.
