@Georgr_D Yes I know that there are other freq I can use to do the tracking but I still need to get that feed for e africa. I know It has been agreed to keep it silent for obvious reasons but I need it now. I understand that it is not easy to let it out but if u look at my profile and my number of post u will understand that I am not here to fish for information to be used against the forum. I have been posting since April 2008 until late last year when I had to go away for personal reasons. I was able to chat with twins T (moderator) because we exchanged Yahoo ID since last year when he was helping me out with my first installation on PAS 7/10ku. PLEASE MY EMAIL AGAIN IS petokonji@yahoo.co.uk. |
@Enitan, Pito, Emexi and all who can. Pls I want to track Sirius4 2morrow I need the etv freq. Oga Twins T couldn't help. My email add is Petokonji@yahoo.co.uk. Hope to get ur mail soon. |
@All It's been too long away from this great forum. My posting priviledges have just been restored. Thanks to the wonderful moderator. @Enitan, Please ignore my post on the newbie thread as Twins T have sorted me out. Thanks all. |
Hello Enitan, Good work u are doing here. Hope u don't mind me calling u THE FTA NEWBIES CUSTOMER CARE MANAGER. Anyway my question is for u you to state the direction my dish must face in order to track sirus4 using DSTV direction as reference point. I have been able with the help of some other members of the FTA thread to track pass 7/10, Astra 2B and Eutelsat W4 on my own. It will be highly apprciated if u can help as I am not that literate on the 5E and 7E point of reference. I was able to track astra 2b due to the directions given in the FTA forum like when u for instance will say stand at the back of ur DSTV dish and gently move about 1 inch to you left and slowly up until u hit green. Thanks again. PS: Please don't get angry. I know say u don answer the question tire for the oda side. cheers. |
Hello MyPeace, I have read with great interest how u've turned the thread into something to talk about. When u talk of good pay in your present job, i advice u give a range of what ur pay (not the exact amount ). This will help in whatever advice u want. For me, I have been following the thread with great interest. I work as PA in a firm that provides logistics services. My pay is a a little over N600,000 per annum. I am very good in IT but have recently had very serious thought for the future. I am in my mid 30s, married with a family to fend for. About a month ago I applied for Registration with CIPM though I have not gotten a reply from them yet. What informed my choice of CIPM against CIBN which has always been what I wanted was that I can always start my own HR consultancy when the need to work on my own arises. This is because if I were to be a professional Banker, I believe there will come a time when I will become too old to work there (that is if I am not already too old) My advise, go for the HR thing because IT is too wide and very competitive apart from basic computer knowledge which every one has. HR is like LAW in which u can either work for someone or u start ur own no matter how small u want to start. Blessing to u all. Have a lovely working week. |
Please don't take the poster serious. In this auto section, pple display the prices of the cars they have to sell and even those they don't have and allow prospective buyers to bid/negotiate Other items too have been presented here and prices displayed. If I were the poster I would have given the highest unit price and included a clause on bulk purchase. Delivery outside your location is a different story entirely as cost of delivery will certainly vary from one location to another. |
@ poster, There is no need crying over spilled milk, Marriage is marriage whether traditional or by any other means. The thing is that u should try to make urself happy by simply making her happy. Let me ask u, are u sure the person u have ur eyes on does not have thesame resentment for you? This ur situation does not call for any prayer or magic. All u need to do is convince urself that u are in it forever and work very hard(maybe not hard at all) to make it work and u will be amased by what u will discover about urself. I have been married for 8 years and my daughter is 5yrs now. After two yrs of marriage, sometimes I look at my wife and I silently say to myself "what did I get myself into marrying this woman". The only thing I know how to do when I come back from workis put on the gen. and watch TV all through while she hustles btw the kitchen and Toilet. She wakes up by 5am to make sure I get something to eat b4 I leave for my office. Funny enough, she has to be at work by 7.45am too. The above was and still is the routine. However, one day she had to travel to the village to see her mum and I was left to take care of our little girl for less than 24 hours, A day I keep praying every morning will not by chance come again. I could not even watch TV let alone the "PRISON BREAK" dvd I collected from a friend for the weekend. I had to wash, clean and just boil rice for myself and my little girl. I am not lazy but the time was not just enough for me to do all this. When she came back I had to buy her an expensive jewelry and took her to Silverbird Galleria (something I have promised and failed severally). When she asked what the occassion was? All I could say was for taking care of us. My point is if u try to look at her from within then u will find several reasons why u are better off with her except she gives u reasons of infidelity why u should let her go. I am sure ur parents and the public does not sleep on thesame bed with u nor do they share ur feelings. Open up ur feelings about how u feel to her and u will be surprised she already knows and she is doing her best to make u happy. I am happily married and loving it. Best of all My daughter makes me feel that I am a millionaire and have nothing to worry about. They say marriage is a school. U only learn if u attend classes (Which u have) and listen to learn. Good luck discovering the benefits of a gud wife. |
@poster I do not see how u wish to sell this thing if the price cannot be displayed (because i didn't see any price tag posted by you) for all forum members to see. People like myself don't like making phone calls to buy things. I see, I like it, It works as stated, I send someone to get it for me if I'm not chanced. Please state the cost for everyone to see. I personally will like to have it as those car wash guys just collect money to wash body and tyre and leave your interior for you to clean. |
if it is smooth in the morning and stiff in the afternoon, it may be that the holes or the pump is malfunctioning as ATF may me dropping into the pump when packed overnight and as soon as the oil in the pump is finished, it will become stiff. Take it to LADIPO (if you are in Lagos) when you have time and ask for pple that specialises in Power Steering. Negotiate and pay after the work is done and tested. Good Luck. PS: It may just be a block holes in which you can empty ATF hold and ask a vulcaniser to flush it with Air. It worked on mine for just a N100 bucks. |
DOCTORS, Thank you for all the help you have offered pple here and I believe you can do thesame for me. I just turned 35 yrs. Jan. 4 and my wife is about thesame age my daughter will be 5 yrs. by March 28. The thing is this, In 2006 around August, my wife got pregnant but lost it around November thesame year. She went to a hospital and the thing was evacuated. However, since the incident for like 8 months she has always had painful menses. Later we went for the first scan where she was told she had fibroid and an Appointment was booked for Feb 2008. Later, we went for another scan in Nov. 2007 but she was told by thesame doctor that she is OK and to confirm it another scan was done at another lab. where nothing was equally found. Though she not very good at this mensural calendar thing, she has not been able to concieve since then. Are we wrong timing the ovulation or what are we doing wrong? my questions are: 1. When does a woman start to ovulate after mensus (days) 2. For how long does the ovulation last (days) 3. When and how frequent should be the right time for us mate so that she can get pregnant 4. Do you thing the problem might be from me. (Don't get me wrong but I am open to any suggestion now) . What should I on my own do and should I advise my wife too to do. Your opinions and advise will highly appreciated. Regards, Peter. |

@Logoman, The only defective thing about a BMW is the Fuel Economy Rating (especially for the older models) I presently drive a 1989 325ix (the IX means 4 wheel drive) although I had to remove the front shaft and converted the front to normal E30. I bought the car in October 2006 for N120,000. (You may think it is junk). I had to put in another N80,000 for body work and overhaulling of the Engine by a competent BMW mechanic at Ladipo. To date after 2 years I still own the car, I have spent about 310,000 in both maintenance and repairs including the cost of converting the front wheels to Normal E30. The car is reliable,Parts are relatively cheap. Last week I had to change the two front shocks with brand new ones (shaft only) for N6,500.00 (SACS brand), Tyrod N3000, Ball Joints 3700 and Labour about N4000. What I am driving at here is that this is a type of replacement that is done probably once in 12 months or once in 18 months or even 2 years. Although I do not drive much around town as my office is closer to my house, on long travel and on the highway, I always have this feeling of being very safe in the car knowing it will never just suddenly stop unlike what my previous Honda prelude had done a couple of times. Every car is good but reliability, safety, comfort and don't forget prestige is another thing. The sound of the engine alone is awesome. Once you've driven and heard the sound of the engine roaring, you will never want to let it go. Drive another car and try to listen for that engine sound if you can hear it. The thing on Fuel is this. The bigger the engine, the better the performance and the more fuel needed. The 3 series range is easy to choose from unlike the 5 series that is strickly 6 cylinders. The lowest is the 316 as erico analysed 3 means 3 series, 16 means 1.6 litres. Other are 318, 320, 325, 325ix, 330, etc. Furthermore, a 1996 Honda Accord (Bull Dog) hand an MPG of 24 miles, while a 1996 318 (e36) has an MPG of 23. The difference is just 1 mile. Where the Bimmer can go and come back, the Accord will have a heart transplant after it. Nigeria is so good that you will be presented with the prices for the original and substandard parts. The choice is always yours to make and identifying them is not a problem. If you live in Lagos and need a good Mechanic, just drive down to Ladipo. Any part seller will recommend a good mechanic for you. All you have to do is just call him and he will come and pick up your car. BM forever. Forget Niga roads. If the car is not good pple will not be falling over one another to own it. It is a machine, not a toy like those Japanese. Good luck. Peter. |
@ sayhova Don't you think the 92 civic is too high for 400k Is it hatch or sedan. Pls post pics so we can talk. But frankly, it's too high it should going for 200K or less. pls post pics. |
My boss has an Optima 2.0 litre engine which he bought in Feb of 2005. The total cost of first year of maintenance at Dana Motors was just N27,000.00 from feb 2005 to feb 2006 ( I have the records) The second year was about N56,000 or there about. In may this year, the car has already covered 100,000 km (because it has travelled btw Akure and Lagos for over a hundred time since it was bought not to mention Kaduna, Asaba, Minna and Abuja to mention a few places. So, in May this year when the car was taken to Dana motors, the total cost of replacing most of the parts was N180,000.00 which was paid and when the car was driven after the 100,000 km service, the handling felt like new. The other maintenance issues were tyres and batteries and July 24th this year the transmission (gear) started behaving funny. All it took was N3,400.00 to change the ATF at a petrol station. Believe me I has thesame doubt about these KIA cars but they are very rugged. TOYOTAS are good but too pricy. I can't tell u about Rios but I believe that they have similar engineering. Routine maintenance at Dana motors has never crossed the N18,000 mark every 3 months. But they can take a day or 2 to get it ready for you. These cars are durable. I drive a 3 series BMW but if I have the cash to buy a new car I will consider buying a KIA even though it does not top my list. |
Haba!!!! A 1994 bulldog for N800k This guy u too much. Considering the fact that it is Nigerian used and it going for far higher than the ones that comes through cotonue. A friend of mine bought a 1996 model for 730k (all cost inclusive ) from Cotonue and u are here trying to sell this used one 4 that amount. O' boy the car go tey for your hand. The prices u guys post at this forum is unbelievable. |
@Kaysie I think I share ur opinion but don't u think the issue of not being science major and not having either HND or BSC in Computer Science or Science related discipline might work against him in searching 4 job? Please everyone let me know what u think. Thanks. |
@holla, Thank you for that. That is thesame thing I advised my friend but he seems not to be disposed to the idea of this CIBN first. He is a Personal Assistant where he works and he's of the opinion that he may want to start off a biz of his own one day. He has a passion to work in the bank but u know how it is somebody sponsoring himself through Secondary school and Polytechnic , it wasn't easy. I can tell u because I went through thesame thing too. This discrimnation btw BSC and HND especially in the bank is what has really put him off the idea of CIBN first. More opinions are welcome. |
@all, come on u guys I am depending on everyone to help resolve this. people just keep veiwing without making any comment. Please! Please!! Please!!! advice. |

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Hello Landers, A very close friend of mine who (a close relation) to be very precise is at crossroads as to what to do. He is 34 years old, married and currently working with a monthly salary of about N55,000.00. He has confided in me as a bros and is in doubt whether to write CIBN next year or to go for CCNA and MCSE certifications which he can write at any time as he has practical expereince in Computer hardware and networking. His HND result in banking and finance should be ready for collection before the end of the year. He was hoping to get a job in the bank when he charters but according to him, age may be a factor against him. I have advised him to go for CIBN as he can take to lecturing at any training centre or Polytechnics in future but he thinks it may not be worth his while. Please people advise my friend. |

@poster Be very careeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeful. This car has a 3.0 litre engine. This car is a machine and not meant for poor pple. Even my boss who is a counting in the millions found this car problematic. Engine wise u are OK but electrical and body is a problem. For instance the front Bumper goes for btw 30,000 and 35,000 Naira, Fuel pump N30,000.00, Airconditional is very problematic. Last year 2007 April we had to sell my boss's own for N100,000 as he refused any of the staff to take it home. He just told I and one other colleague to take the car, sell it and share the money btw. us. He said he is not interest in how much we sold it. Before then we called a guy from Ojuelegba and he priced the car dor N80,000. And finally, that car has no second hand value because it is too big. Remember it was originally built as a luxury car. However, the decision is all yours. |
Hi, Thanks. I would really appreciate it if u can send it to me too. My email add is petokonji@yahoo.co.uk Thank you. |

HND indeed Unless u want to wait for 4 yrs after graduation to get your result, this is not the school for u because during this period that ur result is held for no reason, lots of opportunities must have passed u by. Go for another school. @all, Don't think that probably something is wrong with my scores because Everyuone of all the students have seen their result but the school authority is just footdragging on printing Statement. Don't blame me I am writing from experience. Sorry to say but the school's Part time is a great waste of time. |
Hi pple, I don't know if I am the only one in this forum that has suffered this fate. I finished my 2nd HND program from LASPOTECH in June 2006. Just so u know I already have HND in Secretarial Studies and wanted to go into Banking which was why I ventured for another HND in thesame school I graduated from 4 yrs earlier. As at the time of this post results of 2006 grads especially Banking and Finance is yet to be out. The CIBN I wanted to write, I am now beginning to think if I had not wasted my time going to that school. Pple, pls note if u do not want ur result delayed for no reason, do not go to LASPOTECH for any part time programme. I feel it is killing the moral of the students who went to school in order to get a good job and further their career. Pls if u are in a similar situation, let us hear it. |
Hi, Thanks in advance. I need a copy too. My email address is petokonji@yahoo.co.uk |
@all, I do not know if this will be useful or not but I stumbled on the site while I was surfing. Maybe some gurus in the house will fish out something useful from there. the site is www.kingofsat.net. |
