Guitarlife:
Thanks for ur time.

Why is getting accepted for Ph.D difficult ?

There are advertised Ph.D positions in some schools and I believe these slots are yet to be filled up .

Whats the procedure for applying for them and will I still need to hunt for project supervisors for advertised Ph.D positions ?

Ok. You need to profile schools and start contacting faculty. Try TU Dresden, TU Ilmenau and OVGU magdeburg. They have got a good faculty in EE. Seeking Phd opportunities in Europe isn't easy. Also u could try out Uni of Pavia in Italy. I know 2 phd candidates there from Nigeria. Hope you have GRE and some published works. The Lord is our strength....

Germany also offers Structured Phd programs now. Follow Research in germany on facebook and visit their site.

Congrats to Eke40seven on his Visa. His story should be inspirational to future visa hopefuls.

The problem is not with the money the country received but with how it was invested or rather stolen.

And this one would be judiciously invested right. In Nigeria...

You and your fishing analogy.

Who says that the money can't be used to help people "learn how to fish"?
Will they buy yams with all the money? Can't they help people start a business? Can't they use the money to invest in education? Smh

The ones we have been collecting before, of what use has it been?

When did the Drunkard get anything close to this except fictitious loans??.May God continue to protect our able and focused President because between some particular ethnic group and some avaricious looters, they dont want things to work out for Nigeria because their "Neighbor" lost the election eventhough the neighbor's ethnic group has reconciled and moved on for a better Nigeria, they want him dead by all means. Nigeria will be great again! !

Slowly read your comment and see if it makes sense to you.

So its better the US continues giving us Fish. How then can we develop. We would only turn to beggars and keep carrying our bowls begging for 'Aid'.

As Usual. Noise making over an agreement that has not even been Implemented. Will there be hope it will be Judiciously implemented. Our best Brains keep zooming out to where they are appreciated and these criminals keep on signing Billion dollar agreements.

Yes I support PDP. Northerners are united, they wil vote for dia own like zombie. So it's only wit a northern ticket they have a chance. Likewise to APC. Afterall, the Yorubas sold out. I am sure the north will rule 9ja for another 100yrs. Until the yorubas and Igbos decide to have sense. Each tribe wants to undue the other, not knowing wat goes around comes around. When two dogs fight over a bone, it's the third dog that eats the bone. The yorubas and Igbos shud continue fighting. Lol

I also corrected your error up above. You are going to start your project soon.

CCsurplus007:
I think I can advise you since I am in a similar position. In most universities, you can not get a GA position except if you graduated with a first class. It is automatic for most universities. If you graduated with a 2.1 the best you can do is to apply for your masters program and then apply for a teaching assistant (TA) position. Although the pay for teaching assistant is very meagre infact it wont be enough for your upkeep. The good thing about TA is you have a high possibility of being retained as an assistant lecturer (AL) since you would be conversant with the system and the profs in your department. So if lecturing is your thing and you care less about money for now I would advise you to obtain your masters form immediately. . With your teaching assistant position on your CV you can apply for another masters abroad or a PhD position. With your experience you should get funding much easier. All the best. Holla if you need any further info

Teaching assistant. Does it work in Nigeria?

Good day great minds,
Hope we are all doing real good? I humbly wish to ma some enquiries , and i'm very sure i would receive some complementingly gratifuing responses.
I am a Physisist, and currently willing to advance my studies at PhD level at FUTO. And without raising a grave doubt, i do not really have idea of what is obtainable there in East, especially in term of living, and quality research tendencies.
Being conditionally hamstrung by my too little expisition of the East, i have therefore decided to come before you, my people.
Please here are my enquiries:
- Could youplease link me up with a PhD student at FUTO?
- Does anybody have a link with MSc or PhD students in PHYSICS at FUTO, so i could be linked up too?
-Does PhD programme at FUTO include course work,or just research work, exclusively?
- What other things do i need to know as a prospective PhD student at FUTO?

I'll appreciate your kind response. Cheers!

Yours truly,
Loyalist ( 08036335574)

you will do course work also for PhD in FUTO. NUC rules

And we had an igbo man as minister of health for a long while, yet he couldn't achieve any tangible thing for the SE.
Sometimes i just wonder how some projects that couldn't be completed during GEJ's tenure will be completed now. Even projects as small as the Zik mausoleum was left unfinished after 6years with GEJ on top despite the fact we gave him almost 100% of our votes in 2011. If Buhari's recent 95%, 5% comment is anything to go by, then i think we shouldn't expect any serious federal presence in Alaigbo for the next 4 years.
Buhari is doing everything possible to rehabilitate areas in the north ravaged by insurgency. But GEJ couldn't clean up the oil spills in the Niger delta, neither could he salvage the gully erosion sweeping the SE and SS states rather he was more concerned with pacifying the north, but they only hated him more.
A lot of things annoy me about Gej's administration. I just hope ndigbo won't repeat thesame political miscalculation we did over the last few years. The Ijaw, and other ethnic groups of the SS who we consider as brothers do not see us as same. They only agree we are related when it suits their propaganda, else, they distance themselves from us as much as they can.
