The information has been out there and dissected on this thread but our people do not like to read ...Afterall, their President said "Na Statistics we go chop?" and they still went ahead to vote for the dullard grin

One thing I like about the UK is how they use evidence and statistics to inform their decisions.

For instance, you can see the below excerpt here --> https://assets.publishing.service.gov.uk/media/691edda450b16caf978153d8/Command_Paper_final_-_reviewed7.pdf#page=24.07

"While significant uncertainty exists over the future behaviour of potential applicants, the Home Office estimates that between 1.3 million and 2.2 million people will settle in the UK between 2026 and 2030 (central estimate 1.6m), peaking at between 359,000 and 620,000 in 2028.

Second, the significant increase in people granted a Health and Care entry clearance visa, including a significant cohort working in the care sector, totalling 616,000 between 2022 and 2024 will become eligible for settlement between 2027 and 2029.20 The Home Office estimates that the UK will see 384,000 additional settlement applications from this cohort over this period, with a peak at 210,000 in 2028"

One of the reasons they can comfortably increase the years to ILR is because they have analysed data and looked at the countries most associated with the visa type they want to curb. They can see that those people would rather be on the 10 year route than return to their home countries where bandits run riot and terrorists stream killings on TikTok

You are smart 🤓. How's your EB2 application going.

So I Have MNSE for a while but never updated to Coren. Do I need to add Foreign experience while applying for Coren? in the field for experience, selecting my country of residence doesn't change the state. Really Unimpressed that The website can't just change to select areas within a country.

We need to be asking the right questions o..

So many things didn't add up in the report above.

If I understand correctly, someone went to take a loan from a foreign bank in dollars to equip a government-owned Hospital in Nigeria.. under an arrangement that he would be paid back..?!.! I'm not very conversant with the procurement laws in Nigeria but is that even legal.. I thought every government expenditure MUST pass through a budgetary process.. Did he do this and expect that it would be inputted in the budget afterwards..?! Where did he expect the payment to come from, the Hospital purse or by the government?! Was there an MOU to this effect before carrying out the equipping?!

Most people that do projects like this usually do it as a donation out of freewill or sponsored by an NGO or Business interest..

Why didn't he do this with a Private Paediatric Hospital in Owerri. I'm sure there are standard Privately owned Paediatric Hospitals in that Place.. or better still liase with one to set up a standard Paediatric Unit in that Private Hospital, where he would be a co-owner with 83million Nigeria.

There are just so many things not adding up in this case.
Exactly. So many loopholes in the report

Yeah, Im on the thread too. Gathered a list of quality lawyers others have used on the thread

hooyou.com
messersmithlaw.com and wegreened appear to be quality ones

Please share pointers if you have and if you would like to do it alone or with a lawyer. Think it's really expensive so I want to try and see if I can figure everything out myself in 6 - 9 months if I can.
Been following this YT channel and he breaks it down into easy to understand chunks that makes the process a bit less scary (not sure the post won't be hidden cos of the links)

https://youtube.com/@oscarsgreencard?si=rkeAu4MEbvMdKwZv

I will send a DM later in the day smiley
I belong to a community on WhatsApp run by People Amp. They broke down everything alongside their YouTube videos. And they are really helpful. Here's a playlist of theirs about EB 2.

Using a lawyer or not depends on individual circumstances tbh. Though I feel a lawyer would easily navigate through the petition as it's their terrain. But it boils down to choice. I feel UK GTV is more straightforward.

Will be interesting to see in the next few months. I have searched and searched and this is the only country boxing immigrants into living a life on minimum wage. The effects in the next 7 - 10 years will be insane as most migrants will be stuck at the lower end of society and representation at the upper ends will be further limited (that is where I want to see fellow Nigerians)

The good thing though is that the £38K thing does not affect those who have just graduated but I see a sizable number of Nigerian students leaving the UK (a lot have left already or are planning to leave) as most of the policies are downright sinister and meant to restrict your upwards mobility.

That is exactly why I am always against the care thing or staying too long in it, as I see it as a carefully crafted way to push you into being lower class all your life, which will likely affect your kids too unless careful planning is put in place. Long hours away from family, low pay, and interactions with mostly low-class white people who are all out to drag you to their level, eventually it gets to you and your kids by extension.

I expect things to free up a bit within 1 yr and changes to be made, maybe a bit more stability smiley
Wise man.

Following you

Goodday Seniors, I have been on my third interview for a teaching role in design and technology. Although I got almost 15-20 interview invite but I declined to those with sponsorship.

The locations of the schools I have done my interviews were East Finchley, Ilford and Mansfield Woodhouse.

The schools commended my subject knowledge and assessment, behaviour management but gave what I'd like to call flimsy excuses for reasons not to go ahead with hiring. One even said I did not address myself as 'Mr' to the student.

Where do you think I am getting things wrong?? I am refusing to attribute it to anything related to 'racism'.

Same thing with wifey, the hiring team for her admin role in NHS said loud and clear "sincerely, you ticked all the boxes and there is no area we can say you needed to improve but we are sorry, we are just unable to hire you" this was their response on phone call (phone on speaker, so i heard too), after she had gone for the interview.

What tips or advise can you give us, it's getting frustrating
Do you have teaching experience here or the necessary teaching qualification? I am assuming this is for a FE school

Interesting days ahead.
I see them limiting this to only undergraduate students and PhD students. The one year masters might be limited to only Stem areas. Too early to call especially as we are yet to see the impact on universities even though enrolment numbers are dropping and the shortfall is affecting some universities for eg Sheffield Hallam as seen below 👇

To come and further develop corruption?

Lemme not say what's in my mind towards you.
Say your mind please. If you don't want to come back, pay back the funds expended on you (it's public funds gotten from tax, etc). Tetfund, nddc etc have been a mess and the mess has to be cleaned regardless whose ox is gored.

i dont blame them sha. Coming back should be by choice and currently many universities are snapping them up.
When a commission like nddc openly tells it's scholarship recipients to better find their way after getting the scholarship. The entire system stinks tbh.

Let's not go into how our universities recruit staffs.

i think tetfund is planning to bring them back in consonance with the home offices.
That will be very good. It's not nice getting tetfund, ptdf or even nddc sponsorship and then not return. The entire system is messed up honestly.

The bar must be really low. Anyway, I apologise to anyone who was offended by my comment and dare I say motivation. Not Trojan Horse though, I no send your papa!

Anyway, if you are in any tech related field and you want to apply to companies directly then check out otta.com

OR if you want to have companies book interviews with you directly (Not recruiters) Then create a profile on hackajob.co

Also, if you optimise your LinkedIn and Reeds profile, You would practically get stalked by recruiters, some offering below market rate and some offering some decent pay like in the attached. (This can sometimes be irritating sha, especially with those out of the blue phone calls)

Finally, work on your CV, this is extremely important, you can use one of the templates from Harvard and sprinkle it with the blood of Jesus wink https://hwpi.harvard.edu/files/ocs/files/undergrad_resumes_and_cover_letters.pdf)

And finally, don’t let anyone make you feel like you are dreaming too big. Package and sell yourself. Anyway goodnight! We argue again tomorrow grin
