. Thanks bro. For the Ibos that do not agree with this post can you tell us why delta, rivers, bayelsa and cross river should join your biafra course outside the fact you speak similar language (not all though) . I think the reason why you guys will not achieve your struggle is your insistence on the oil producing south south states. If you want biafra, fine but leave other regions alone. na by force. Can't you people survive alone. You people want oil before you leave. Then you are not ready.
Guy you dull sha or just outright mischievous.
So right now are they enjoying the oil?
When different people co exist in a country its only right they negotiate their co existence before there alliance.
You have been in Nigeria for over 100yrs, highly marginalized and the powers that be don't want a renegotiation. So I assume you are comfortable with the status of things with SS.?
This agitation for Biafra would have been put to sleep if the FG were to at least negotiate and implement the result of the national conference.

Only ogochukwu is the Igbo name not oliseh..And I have seen several igbos with more than one English name but that doesn't mean he is from England... Like you earlier said, it shows a point of contact with certain people which is the case here. If you check ancient history, Igbos, deltans were all ruled under the Benin empire hence their similarities..same with Yoruba lands too(but that is a discussion for another time) E.g Urhuobo or isoko will say Ndoo, same with igbos and Edos. Because of their time together they share similar traits, names and history. But this doesn't make deltans, Igbo's and others Edo. I hope u get my point.
Oliseh is an igbo name also bore by Igbo people from Ontisha.
According to your analogy why didn't they bare Edo names? how come there communities bare igbo names with igbo meanings? E.G Igbanke, even Anioma?
The Big questions remains who are they and what is there history of migration, settlement and cultural inclination?
If they migrated from Edo, why will they abandon there names and totally to pick up the igbo language when there tribe of ancestry still remain dominant

Sunday Oliseh was born and bred in Onitsha Anambra state.
I dont think he is stu.pid ....... And he must have had enough exposure to Ibo culture and people, to be able to decipher what he considers himself to be..

btw: What does Ogorchukwu mean in Ibo lang? ... anyone willing to help?
It means Gods favour (Blessing). My grandmother gave my oldest sister that name It's as igbo as a name can get.

Because somebody has an Igbo name does not make him Igbo...Ayo orisejafor bears a Yoruba name but do u see the Yoruba's shouting that he is a Yoruba? I guess you also have and English name, does that make you come from England? Pls use ur sense abeg.
Bearing an English name doesn't make him English but it simply shows a contact with a certain people.
Just like bearing Christian name shows contact with Christians.

Ogochukwu Oliseh is a proper igbo name so to help resolve the identity crisis he should help clarify how the Ika came to bear names unique to the Igbos.
It's funny that with all the denial the same faith awaits him and the proudly igbo man in the geographical expression called Nigeria.

Sunday Ogochukwu Oliseh with his brother Chukwuma Oliseh deny being Igbo....

One gal yesterday her name is Amaka Ikechukwu, she was spoken Igbo to, and she kept ear like the she no hear, the other gal asked her, Amaka are u not Igbo?
She said "No, I am not Ibo, I am Ikwerre gal" and walked away. I know this gal too well
And in my mind I remembered NL, then I shouted at her, pls you Ikwerre and Ikas, stop answering Igbo names, so we will know how many we are and how to organize ourselves.

Anyway who wants to be part of "ndi emeriri n'agha".
I can understand their denials. This time around, we will win.
A lot have gone wrong, imagine someone calling himself delta- igbo? Do we have Lagos- Yoruba? Or Kaduna - Fulani?
All these people need there heads examined.
The girl you referenced is an example of these lost igbos living in denial. If crisis was to break out tomorrow she will be labelled simply Igbo.
Like you said they should either embrace who they are or change there names make we know how many we dey. Imagine passing the ish down two more generations?

that's not wailing but calling out your stupidity.

You claim SS is part of Viafra but don't look happy when a delta ibo got appointed as NNPC officer. This goes to show you guys will marginalize the minority tribes in your Viafra.
Imagine your logic, Igbo a majority tribe will marginalize an igbo man is his own constituency.
What is delta igbo? Is that a tribe? is there anything like lagos- Yoruba? Or Kaduna- Fulani?
Why can't people just think?
PoliticsThe Igbos by Observant(op): 5:42am On Aug 05, 2015
I came to realize that a lot of people either being outright miscreants, not knowing history or just attempting to sow discord.
The igbos in delta state are 100% igbos, in fact their dialect of igbo is 90% igbo izugbe very much alike with igbo spoken in ontisha and ontisha ugbo and they bear igbo names with igbo meanings.
This divide and rule tactics that has been employed in Nigeria has really damaged a lot.

To the igbo man from delta state do you not know your history? Why are you letting people who know nothing about you tell you who you are?
When you were massacred in the Asaba, was it's not because you were igbo?
of course only the misguided ones will live in this fact.
This also applies to all other igbos

PoliticsSE/SS/Niger Delta Or Just Easterners - A Question For All by Observant(op):
I started listening to radio biafra as a comic relief in my spare time not taking it seriously but being a man who likes to learn from every experience no matter how small, yesterday the man said something that was very undeniable.
It's a fact that in the north we have several ethinic inclination ( The Fulani, The Hausa, The Gwari, The Nupe and so on) but on no count has anyone or group of people come to say we are fighting for the fulani nation! or Hausa people or northern minority, all you hear is "The NORTH". or " THE AREWA NATION".

Same thing with the west , you hear The SW or the oduduwa people.

Compare this to the Easterner part of the country that has been balkanized giving room to divide and rule politics.
You hear things like Ohaneze, Igbo nation, Niger Delta, Mend, ijaw nation, minorities etc.

Why not just the easterners as it was so you lot can be taken seriously. Or better still unite under a more daring name Biafra.

I stand to learn more.
Thank you

If you are for one Nigeria, you better hope PMB succeed, if not I don't see anything stopping the division of this country.
Make no mistake one Nigeria is only beneficial to the elite, the common man benefits nothing from the sham.

Personally I think the country should be divided into ethnic nation in one name just like the United kingdom.

Can Buhari spell the word corruption with his eyes closed ? Stop ranting, it will NOT help you recover your brains that you have forgotten in a pot of amala. I have Freedom of Speech, or will your certificate-less ancestor take that away from me?

Lest I forget; Why are you worrying about Nigeria's present financial state ? When Jonathan came on board, he didnt worry about it. He was able to resuscitate Rail-lines, buy couches and send the trains moving. He was able to privatize public power system, he digitized fertilizer distribution.

Yet the majority illiterates/ignorant have elected their kind, an analogue model of 1980s President to lead a 21st century nation.

Do not get me started, its too early.
We share the same concerns.
Mostly his sworn hate for press and media.
For the sake of country, i hope to be proven wrong. I sincerely hope that this our new found voice lives to speak again if need be.
A lot if promises have been made, we need to keenly watch this administration.
The new opposition should embrace their new found position and play it very well.
