Linux boxes are fun to play around with!though the tuner configuration is not friendly! I installed HDMU image now upgraded to open ATV image on my Linux box..very stable image! With internet and tsmedia and xbmc addons intalled you can watch anything online movie/wwe raw main event,smack down...with om-black skin installed! Picture quality looks more sharper with full EPG/info guide!

Actual I don't know where you get dream box..but you can trade from Germany...
Below is open ATV 4.2 enigma2 image!with can also be used on dream box!

Big brother, i track dstv frequency for a client using a new STRONG lnbf for hours and my highest signal quality was 65%. I was aiming for 70 to 85 without success. pls is it that the lnbf is not good enough or that i am not using the surest tracking freq.?

If your dish is up to 80 to 90cm..and with a good lnb!you should be able to receive up to 74% on 11766,11785,11938..on sat metre ws-6906..and upto 82%,on any strong receiver!

depends on what you want from dreambox!most Linux receivers can run same image which can also be used on dreambox!

for multi tv use lnb skewed @ 5'O'CLOCK..remove cable from diseqc switch and try again!

@Adex..on my 3m dish nilesat 201 is more favourable than nile102..hard frequencies on 102 that migrated are now easy to receive!need 12226H27500 on nilesat102 to move to nile201..Dmtv a good movie and entertainment channel is on 12226H27500! Currently is cracks on my 3m dish!

I think you need to purchase the 4m dish..lol

you can actual tell if you can receive nilesat201 or 11938v27500/MBC package if they move to nilesat201! That is if you are already receiving 11785V27500 dubai one/12284v27500 aljazeera! Mbc signal is likely to be less stronger than 11785v if imbc 11938 moves to 201.. the horizontal tp on nilesat201 uses fec 5/6..making it hard to receive..that means you are likely not to receive horizontal tps on 1.8m in abuja!

Why should I b happy or sad about such movements of TPs?

"one man's meat is another man's poison" the reception of nilesat 201 is better than nilesat 102 in eastern part of Nigeria I.e Enugu/Onitsha etc!..there is huge improvement on the TPs that has migrated to nile201..tp:11900V gained 12% and 12149H gained about 28%,11919H about 30% on the meter reading! due to the fact that nilesat102 is getting weaker! and the horizintal Tps on nilesat 102 are very weak especially 12149H 11919,12226H... and 11900V,another reason is that! On nilesat 201 ku band coverage..the fringe reception in nigeria is coming from two/2 directions north Africa and the coverage that stretched down to some part of east africa..that means if you @ the eastern part of Nigeria and close to east Africa ..you will also receive the 46dBW that crossed over east Africa instead of far north Africa coverage!an andvantage to south-eastern part of nigeria while some part of southwest of Nigeria like lagos etc may suffer from nilesat 201 reception..that means likely nilesat 102 receptions will be better than 201 in lagos or other towns near lagos etc!
Why you should be happy for tp migrations?nilesat102 will be removed from 7west 2015..while 11938V need to move to 201 to fill up the remaining transponders on nilesat201 before filled up..if nilesat 202 is not launched..that means 11938Vmbc may disappear from 7west or move to another sat which may be harder to receive!fingers crossed..lol

Good to hear from you!from the look of things,if my calculations are correct, out of 24 transponders on nilesat 201.. 20 tp has been used!while 4 Tp left!waiting for MBC tp 11938V and 12226H to fill up the remaining 4 transponders on 201! In the meantime no reliable news on the launch of nile202 as back up for 201..fingers crossed!

Though hotbird channels are scrambled!the 3m will not give you much TP on Hotbird,if you are close to south-east/west/south!
Well i may suggest you point your antenna towards 7west_nilesat!

The migration of TP on nilesat 102 to nilesat 201 may have just began! improved signal on tp :11919H/12149H and 11900V27500 waiting for dmtv entertainment and gear one TV on12226H nilesat 102 to follow suit!

My actuator moves up freely (on load nd no load) but sometime write E2 .....

E2 message is not supposed to show up! if jack is not on load, that is if sensor wires is connected!it means the tube is faulty or motor is not balanced!either way you have a faulty jack..

Blexxonmack nice job bro. while adjusting my motorised 1.8m pan dish to accommodate an extra Ku lnb to my IRIB.. my brother after like almost using close to a whole day IRIB refused to align with d ku. Was able to align all d KU's perfectly but IRIB jus refused totally to fall in line. Tried all the tricks no way. what do u think went wrong?

on a motorised dish! with multi lnb(s) set up! all lnb should be placed on a straight line!Ref:at 0° or on thor at1west, if standing at the back of the dish!satellite dish should be able to bend slightly sideways to the left,then all other sat will fall in line!

COMPLIMENTS to everyone on this trend........ recently i stumbled upon this relic antenna while cleaning the store and i wanted to ask...... is it still useful for tv reception of any kind?

It is an integrated terrestrial antenna(California amplifier)!uses a different frequency from an ordinary outdoor/indoor antenna normally for cable Tv!though the unit can't pick up a normal terrestrial digital/analogue broadcast!contact CTL cable tv operator etc, if they operate on your location...

Gurus in the house, I have been tracking so many sats for the past two years but since I have been trying to Sirius and eutelsat 7a @4.5e and 7e respectively, it has never been successful.... Please, could it be the fault of tracking decoder which is an mpeg2 decoder or I have been missing something... Please, I have used all tps posted here and posted on lyngsat but nothing nothing... I need directions and advice...

your mpeg2 receiver can only track dvbs signal and not dvbs2...select only dvbs TP@ 7east and 4.8east!..knowing that transponders polarity at 7east for lyngsat is not correct switch to the oppssite polarity for lnb skew@ 5 o'clock or use 12728V30000 any dish less than 80cm may not lock this TP...you must track slowly!at least you should know, antenna positions for 7e/4.8

It depends on the tv set you bought!won't you prefer this kind of menu on your TV sets! rather than going back to analogue broadcast!

@odilibe, if u look at that image on that TV u will realise that the outline of those images look like zoomed image, i think u will agree with me that the old generation tvs that uses TUBE, shows u picture the way it is, but i have seen some other flat screen TV that has good picture quality, may be that one is an advance one.

@graphicicon...I will have to disagree with you..what made you think..that the image is zoomed! here is an image from lg42le5900 led TV.with backlight.. if the image has been zoomed you won't see TV logo on the channel been viewed, otherwise the logo will be zoomed off from the TV or go half way from the image...I disagree with you!current TV sets are more advanced and audio output enhanced!...

And lg32lc46 with contrast ratio of 5000:1..well both tv set are delivering! Advanced picture quality! From my own review and ignoring both tv manufacture's specification...lg42le5900 has more contrast and looks more superior and functions than lg32lc46 LCD TV..though lg32lc46 lcd TV ..delivers better colour than lg42le5900 TV..however,overall lg42le5900 led tv is more better!..both TV sets are bought from UK!
Well the competition is between Samsung and lg..and getting the best or original brand!

Tech gurus in the house, i think the picture quality of old generation televisio that has a shootout back is the best compare to these new generation of LED tv, LCD tv, if u are watching LED tv or LCD tv, the picture seems to look like as it is zoomed, especially if u are watching and event that has multitude of people, so guys which flat TV has the best picture quality in terms of contrast and resolution size.

seems like you bought the lower class or fake chinese tv..to compare it with old out of date anaIogue/tv lol ..In the meantime! I am using LG32LC46 LCD tv bought from the uk..with contrast ratio of up to 5000:1..with XD engine..2hdmi/2av input euro scart/rgb in/pcmcia card slot/Svideo/av input/optical digital audio out/rgb for PC/audio input..combined with my dvb sat receiver set on 1080i @60Hz HD resolution..I am having hard times differentiating between SD and HD channels on nilesat 7 west!..get the original lG TV!

....actually how it works: the 90cm dish receives a signal from a particular satellite then reflects it to the subreflector..and from sub reflector to the lnb! Making the signal more concentrated @ the sub reflector ..as double reflector dish!..

As you can see from below diagram ..how I used a flat circular surface from a 1.8m pan dish..as sub reflector to lock CCTV China on eutelsat@36east 12034V27500!with Ws-6906 sat metre!.on dstv position..this is an experimental double antenna reflector setup..in this case the lnb is not looking at main antenna!but at reversed position..pointing to the subreflector..the main purpose of a subreflector!if set up properly!is to improve overall efficiency of the main reflector!
