This is to put to rest about salient point of which is better. SRT 4950 series are awesome machines with twin tuners.

unfortunately the srt/4950..doesn't use twin tuners!check back panels for multiple lnb input ports...

Oooh I have seen all the scalers on c band are all thea....I bet using a long necked lnb like the inverto single will help in the moving up n down....

even if you use inverto long neck lnb..it will still be at same focal point with mti lnb cos the lnb is on correct focal point! ;Dwhile the scalar is attached to the ku lnb holder!

I see the lnb is left with one outer scaler then the c band scaler has the inside scaler removed.....if the c band scaler is not cut does that affect the signal?

yeah lnb is left with one outer scalar but the c band scalar ring was not removed..if you observe closely, cut was made at the back of the scalar,lnb holder was removed!cos I need the scalar to move backwards! to avoid blocking the lnb feed!

can you please upload a picture of your modified digisat?

..there is nothing special,cut off some part of feed horn...remaining the plastic that covers the feed! the plastic cover gives extra improvements!

or you can cut off the plastic then use c band scalar ring with the ku lnb to reduce interference thereby improving signal quality..

I think the dish is not less than 2.8m not more than 3.2m..I am looking at 3m dish or so..
normally shallow dish has more gain than deeper dish..but deep dish rejects unwanted signal more than shallow dish.. actually i used c band scalar ring with Ku band lnb..to squeeze out extra 7% signal quality on my prime focus dish!

@ODILIBE the dish was test on 13east and i got 950 channels all together the highest tp on 4930 was 70% the rest are 60 to 65 i also got Badry 26east with ad sport 65% on 7 west mbc is 65% i think on 4mt it should be more than this what is ur signal level on strong box at hot bird and nile see the pics bellow

Adex ..here is my MBC signal/Nilesat on old strong receiver sX series at 58% with 4665 receiver and new strong boxes it will be up to 68% on my 3meter..I think you should have more than 65% on 4m dish..

with figures you gave..by calculations your focal length is=1.72m and f/D=0.43

@ blexxomak, odilibe, what is the different between fringe satelite signal and normal satelite signal.

fringe reception is sat signals received outside the footprint or off the edge of coverage zone or normal reception within coverage zone..

some ppl are still using pauxis prime focus single at Onitsha majority are using digitsat lnb...from the ones I saw!

3rd..0.3dB inverto red classics c120 lnb

Adex..my signal quality on Nile is 62% on BBC with old strong box s x and 72% on 4665.. MBC is 57% with old strong box..67% on 4665..my Hotbird is 58% on 4665..I think you should be getting more signal from nilesat...Enugu is closer to nilesat than lagos..

I mean lnb scalar ring..Fuji lnb is 0.3 and digsat is 0.2db..the lower the noise the better...you can get 13east try swiss on 12399h27500/11526h27500..they do English movies and sports/football..track 13e with 11334h27500..

the best LNB to use.i plan to motorise it..

use digisat twin or quad ku lnb! it is good on prime focus dish!only if you cut off some part of the offset scalar ring...i.e cut from the gap where the plastic cap ends!..remaining the part of the plastic that shields the feedhorn ..as the plastic act as scalar ring and it boost signal by up to 5%..see pic below!..

information i got is that more TV channels will be on this platform very soon

...these channels are broadcasting on tp with low symbol rate of 1562..the capacity of the symbol rate may be full..adding another channel to the tp with same symbol rate is likely not to happen ..lol!unless they switch to another tp or with high symbol rate!...SR of 27500 up etc can taken in 20 channels..lol
This tp will be very hard to receive with too much noise..though low symbol rate cheap to the broadcasters..

SATLINK is responsible for uplink of all channels on Astra except multi TV...even SES DEMO SD video quality is high..though satlink is not the provider of multi TV which is using fake HD format!..lol

What could be the problem is it the tracking decoder or the dish because I can't believe such a big dish should give me headache to track nss7 and I don't know why 10992 is working for 11727.
I will all appreciate your professional contributions though I have suspended the tracking for now.

The local oscillator of the lnb setting on the decoder should be set properly at 9750/10600 for Ku band lnb..depending on the lnb type if you use wrong settings...the receiver will misinterpret Tp frequencies (that is why 10992 is working on 11727)..I think the feed was off the center of the dish that is why you receive zuku with dish pointing towards west...you may not be able to track multi TV at 28east..since receiver/decoder is using wrong lnb settings!

I think the dish has a problem and receiver using wrong lnb settings!check receiver settings..

If you want the paint that can last longer and prevents rusting use car/auto paint! A1litre of car cream paint will cost about 800naira!I am now using car paint on my 3m sat antenna!

No:sky is taboo in uk! Amiko alien Linux enigma2!with spark support was only dealing with some tp on:19east,23.5east,7e and 1west ..

In the uk My Mvision Linux was working on one famous tp on 13e with no English! b4 I boxed it...seems like13e now needs a bigger!

Yes MBC will be easy on the 4m at the moment! let us hope they won't jump to 7.3west or 7.5west!..

Yeah, u are in order. However, he raised a valid point there about a 4m pan dish not even getting 36E signals! Are u sure the dish is still in shape as regards it not warped?

k...let us know if you get s** Italia full tp on 13e..with your 4m!.very funny my 3m couldn't get Italia all on 13e ..lol!even tough I have receiver working on full Italia tp on 13e!

If there is no element of metal on the surface of the dish then it won't reflect satellite microwave!
Aluminium satellite dish seems to have more gain than steel/pan etc..since aluminium is a good conductor of electricity and can reflects microwaves than steel etc!a fiber dish wrapped with an Aluminium foil will almost have same effect!
Wrap the 4m dish with Aluminium kitchen foil then repaint the dish!
I hope all will agree with me lol..

nigeria satelite tv network owners are so stingy not to add ptv sport and irib tv3 on their network, so the those of us with small dish like 60 cm dish can enjoy live free to air matches

If they add up irib tv3 and PTV to their network, do you expect to receive those channels as Free to air channel,if they re-broadcast them across Nigeria or africa on smaller antennas!Agape network on amos5 on tp:12418 are re-broadcasting free to air channels from osn/11977V27500 and du channel on 11785 on nilesat @7west and some fta indian channels on intelsat 68.5east c band while azam package on 7east are re-broacasting FTA channels from nilesat 7west-MBC movies etc..and selling it to consumers across Africa as pay tv channels..making these FTA channels to move away further from sub-sahara Africa coverage or reduced eirp for fringe receptions! even if they do add these channels it may not be FTA!

@ODILIBE AND OLASON ,EMMERITUS, I HAVE finally acquire the 4mt dish see the pics from olason post got it very cheap but the owner refuse to let the pole and motorized neck go provision have been make for new ones @ GEORGE D AND OBNELLY guys iam at your back i got a old c band lnb called drake with input of 3.7- 4.2ghz with ready made feed on i have not see such l n b before also got 2nos heavy duty jack on it totally def rent to the one we use to see sky uk nilesat hot bird and the rest we shall see mmmm

Adex..It is good you acquired the 4m!waiting for you to lock those Transponders!seems like the dish+the lnb was used for the old analogue satellite reception! meanwhile If you accidentally hit ..UPC direct _1west /DMC_15west/7east_digiturk/eutelsat_7.5west/skylink_23.5east.the thor @1west t2/k2 beam are not that bad..lol!and….let us know what you are able to receive!
