The channels are stable 247 with 3m in lagos but all are scrambled. I got about 130 channels. If you have 2.4m and above try this tp on astra 28e 11938v 27500

w6 behaves like a fringe bird & in actual sense , it is fringe cos if u check the footprint map only a very small tiny part of d footprint cuts tru d edge of nigeria @ west side. this is the reason why it is difficult to track. The bigger your dish, the higher the chances of nailing it.

Is that right , referring to NWA beam the satellite owners claims 42dBW =110CM aproximate for nigeria, while other north-africa/west-african countries recommended dish sizes reduced to 65cm-80cm Aproximate.

I even MOTORIZED the dish.

check your motorized set -up / dish position ,getting a good signal on badr -26east is not a guarantee that you will receive good signal from any other satellite when using motor,of-course badr-26 east and nilesat- 7 west satellites are not on the same arc.if you are using motorized set-up you must position dish/motor correctly for other satellites to fall into place, before that,try and track nilesat without using motor and see if you can receive any TP on nileast at all.

I  have a skybox of Amstard 280. Dont knwo if it  can be used  for FTA or Paytv in Nigeria.

skybox can be used for fta satellite receptions but the problem with skybox it only accepts 2 symbol rates 27500 and 22000,on the other hand it only accepts frequencies from the ku band and not the C-band, i will give you few tips check satellites that the majority of it's symbol rates is 27500 or 22000 i.e, nilesat @7west,yahsat 1a@52.5e, hotbird @13east,badr4/5/6 @ 26east, eurobird 9a @9east etc ,these satellites should be fringe receptions in nigeria. To enjoy your skybox i suggest you install nilesat or even hotbird etc. Can it be used for pay-tv?that is another issue you should experiment on,since the skybox decoder uses NDS VIDEOGUARD conditional access i bet you , it won't work well for pay-tv channels in nigeria ,of-course no pay-tv in nigeria uses NDS VIDEOGUARD encryption. My conclusion is this, use the skybox as fta satellite in nigeria and direct your dish to nilesat and enjoy ,happy viewing

It has been said to get fringe satellites we should use 'good' 0.2 or 0.1db LNBs. I need advice on Invacom C120 Single LNB which has a noise figure of 0.3db but in other websites it is claimed to be good for weak signals. I want to track AB 7, will it do the job? 

I have never read much review from invacom single flange c120 lnb, from other uk forums,they say the invacom quad C12O Lnb performs better than the single c120, while the inverto white tech sflange c120 is a cheap alternative to invacom quad, while the inverto black ultra quad 0.2dB lnb outperforms the invacom quad 0.3dB lnbf . the conclusion is that if you are looking for single flange C120 LNB go for inverto white tech c120 lnb or the invacom quad c120,i got the inverto red quad c120 lnb since i needed 4 outputs i never read much review from inverto c120 quad anyways it is yet to be tested,. see review from other uk forums.                    www.astra2d.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=lnb&action=display&thread=1545

may be you should refer to strong website (www.strong-technologies.com/frmprodDetails.aspx?id=196),, from strong website srt 4896 satellite receiver has twin tuner. ,at least you can start from there

obnelly ,the lnb is still with me in the uk, it has not been sent home/naija for testing, i just made the post in advance,but one of my bro is leaving the uk 2weeks time, he will test the lnb  against fuji extreme lnb on my strong 2.4metre dish ground mount facing nilesat, i will post the performance in 2weeks time ,if it works well or fail, i will let you know

this are the channels at w3c(rdv,rts,2stv,rtg1,afm tv,canal2,tvm malagasy,mboa tv,ortb,golfe tv,crtv,france 24 and equinoxe tv) all are mpeg 4 expect tvm malagasy and it can be track with 60cm in naija thanks.

@ all, any one with nile sat tracking experience, for more than an hour now i ve been trying even after getting 98% with Nss 7, is there somesome i am not doing right?

use 11938 v 27500 mbc, at least u can get stable picture at 40%, nilesat is at the left of nss7 if you are standing at the back of the dish slowly move the dish by the left up and down, u know what i mean. .

@ all, i was trying to find that formular given in one of the seasons of how to calculate the focal lenth. Pls any can refer me to d page?

Focal length=f,depth=c,Diameter=D, therefore; f=(D*D)/(16*c), Assuming you have 180cm dish,then D=180, For example if the depth of the dish is 32cm ,then depth/c =32,using the above equation; f=(180*180)/(16*32)=32400/512=63.3cm, this is where you need to have the mouth of the feed-horn for satellite reception.now to calculate f/D=63.3/180=0.352  NB; measure the depth using a tight fishing line or a tight rope across the dish and a rule to measure the depth c

I wonder how he constructed an inline amp on that small piece of veroboard, may very soon he will claim to build a 40ways diseqc switch or lnbf on a piece of veroboard.

in-line amp do not boost satellite signals, it is just for a compensation of a signal loss on a long cable ,lol

Esu0,funny enough those tps are very funny the higher signal strength is 48% on old strong receiver(52) ,low signal i would say but believe me they are more stable no freezing and no cracking.watching sky comedy now.First track multitv you get up to 98% then input 11778 v 27500 wait for the signal to pop up ,if signal doesnt go green move you dish slightly to you left (you at the back of the dish) adjust the height of you dish gradually .you should hit green.Happy tracking.

look 4 the lnb in the picture or you can ask anyone santec  prime focus lnb, it works well on 2.4m pan dish

In addition to what Salamander posted, no tp on nilesat hit green @30%,it most be 36% for older strong or 46% for the newer strong. I dont think it is easy to nail nile with 1 meter dish in this part of africa
