some 1 shld help me on dis. there is this HD TV brought frm USA. if they use it with dstv it only shows in white and black. from my research on the tv i discovered that it is only meant for NTSC.

1. did anybody knows a converter that can convert NTSC to PAL.

2. do u think 4663 or 4669 decoder will do the job since it av the setting in the AV to change from NTSC to PAL.

3. or will strong HD decoder solve the problem.

thanks
odilibe:
(1) you should be converting pal to NTSC but not ntsc to pal, since your tv system is ntsc, below is a typical example of tv video converter  on amazon.co.uk, if you think ntsc system is the troubleshooting on your tv,may be you should go into the market and look for a video system convertor.  even converters are used on playstation/vcr etc.
(2)any satellite  receiver that has pal/ntsc modulator , can work on any tv that comes with pal or ntsc system, you need to switch to appropriate system that match your tv either pal or ntsc and most strong receivers has ntsc /pal  modulator if 4663 or 4669 has NTSC modulator it can work well on ntsc tv as a satellite tv.for tv system converters follow this link(www.amazon.co.uk/VIDEO-SYSTEM-CONVERTOR-BOX/dp/B000RN2292/ref=sr_1_1?i.e=UTF8&qid=1310979016&sr=8-1)

Twinstaiye, pls hw do i get this sportmax.tv and can i use 90cm dish to track it.hoping to read fm u asap.thanks
This question was directed to twinstaiye @moderator right, he claimed to have tracked the sportsmax free on intelsat 805 @55.5 west on part 1 page1 of this thread with the frequency 3467/3255 C-band, currently intelsat 805 seems not have the above frequency, only 3735 V 8681 C-band, sportsmax footprint is for  north/south america/europe check lyngsat, for twinstaiye post you may refer to (www.nairaland.com/nigeria/topic-7715.0.html)another satellite has sportsmax frequency is intelsat/IS 707 @53degrees west, frequency 3820 sr 3255 on  west hemi ,which is north america/south america footprint.i tried to track sportmax with motorised 2.5metre dish in enugu yrs back but no success with frequency stated by twinstaiye. your question can you track it with 90cm dish? the answer is no,sportsmax is on C-band it require a big dish, even with 3mtr dish i doubt if anyone can track it in west africa.intelsat 805 footprint (www.lyngsat-maps.com/intel805.html).sportsmax is also scrambled on digiturk w3a at 7east europe beam. They play epl ,champions l,( www.sportsmax.tv)

The MBC HD channels on Nilesat 201 are gone encrypted. I see the 201 as programmed for HD channels basically.
What would be the faith of that unencrypted on nilesat 102? Nothing really wants to be free anymore. A totally compressed and encrypted world of satellite signals we are drifting to.
Time would tell.
(www.costablancasatellite..com/2011/06/mbc-launch-hd-channels-on-nilesat-201.html),according to mbc media group the current version of mbc channels in sd resolution remains fta.

Aljazeera sports channels; +5,+6,+7,+8,+9,+10 & aljazeera world cup on frequency 11958H Symbol rate 27000 dvb-s has migrated from Nilesat 101 to Nilesat 201
why  flysat report of aljazeera frequency 11985H/27500 back on nilesat 101, on 27-06-2011? 201 is to replace 101, while 101 is still active @7west untill then. i mean don't expect any serious migration untill 101 is switched off, cheers.

hie everyonê.i want to ask what minimum dish size is required to track nss12ku and arabsat 5a cband in southern africa.i have tried nailing them several times to no avail i dont knw were i am going wrong, hop anyone can help me answer my question
Ilish:
@Wellydra,for NSS12 ku you use a 90cm dish and for Arabsat5a cband,a 1.8m dish is to be used. For your own info, these are the easiest satellites trackable.
southern africa are limited to few satellites at  the C-band,most of the european/middle east satellites are not visible as fringe reception on that region,  i  believe the dstv will be making huge profit  from this region grin i assume that may be the more reason why south africa wanted to launch there own satellite intelsat new-dawn which has sub-sahara africa/africa C -band coverage. All though the satellite failed. hence @ilish you are within the footprint of nss12ku @57east and arabsat 5a @30.5west, whereras wellydra is out of the footprint, probably he can't track those satellite with the stated dish size, may be he will require more  than  the stated dish size,i assume a 1.8meter pan dish will   track  nss12 ku, east africa beam since zimbabwe is close to the footprint, you can use this sites to check footprint and minimum required dish size for all satellites,(www.satbeams.com/footprint?position=331).

Lunsat:
Hi all, this is my first post. I have three questions for Zambia based FTA anthusiasts:

Badr 6, 26E Cband, Lyngsat shows a beam footprint officially ending in Nakonde, meaning fridge could be recievable in Lusaka. Any success with with this one on any size dish?

Intelsat 7/10, 68E C band, are you recieving ZNBC and ZBC? I dont seem to. Makes me wonder if they are not on southern africa beam.

Intelsat 10-02, 1w C band, I am getting all channels listed by lyngstat for Africa including BBC Arabic, but BBC english doesnt pop out during blind scan. I had a similar problem with Muvi TV channels on Arabsat 5a Cband but direct scanning of the TP coxed them out but this didnt work with BBC. Any help?

Thanks.
olofofo:
it used to be santech, now it's been sold as FOCUS in the Market now.
@olofofo thanks for the info, on the santech ku  lnb . @lunsat, the bbc english/arabic  channels on, thor  5/6 @1west they are all radio channels.even if you are able to have access on those radio channels, they don't show video broadcast.

@eltonluigi. Use the tp for Russia Today and Emmanuel TV and remember you should not insert the teflon that comes with the lnbf.
Eltonluigi:
thanks mahn,i will try as you say when trackin' d bird but i've got a way to bypass the linear/circular polarization issue tho'!
Is there other way to solve linear and circular polarity problem on C-band ,may be you should consider attaching double C-band lnb on your prime focus dish, in which one of the 2 lnbs should have the dielectric removed, that will even serve you well on pas 7/10 @68.5east, as for thaicom 5 ,you need 2.5mtr dish cos the global beam on thaicom 5 is not strong, one more thing can your dish be able to go down as low as 78.5east-thaicom 5 when using  a motorized set-up/dish, cos that will be another troubleshooting.

Hello friends
am new in this forum and i would really need your help.please i need an information about MBC channel.someone told me that i needed to get one LNB which will enable the channel to be showing 24hrs.as am posting this reply i have spent alot on but i couldnt get anything and i paid the installer without achieving this MBC channel.

Could Please friends tell me what to do so that i can start enjoying MBC channels.

Hoipng to read from you soonest.

Thanks
you did not include your location, and dish size used to track nilesat by your installer, that will make it difficult for anyone to answer your question, besides lnb is not a shortcut to get good signal on any satellite, get a bigger dish.MBC is on nilesat 102/201.

Its pathetic, not even a single HD channel that is FTA apart from NHK Worldhuh huh
Then how many pay tv providers are fully on HD, of course none yet, even multichoice africa, is not fully on HD they can only add few HD channels to  thier contents in other to sell HD boxes, sky uk is not even fully HD just few HD channels, some pay tv providers don't even have a single HD channel, does zuku package has a single HD channel question?that makes me to think what is your point. on the other hand NHK world is not the only fta HD channel on satellite,if you are looking for satellites that has HD channels, you can easily check lyngsat, moreover badr @ 26east has HD free to air channels eg 12245V 27500 alkas sports HD,11785V27500 luxe HD,10730V27500 Saudi sports HD,12I69V27500 dubai sports HD,12226H27500 bahrain HD.

Are we there yet?We can achieve this
But it has allready been achieved .The only difference in this case is that the lnb is line up horizontal on a straight line, this is a method of dish installation in the uk to pick 28.2east ,23.5east,19.2east,16east and 13east cos most european satellites has strong transponders example astra @28.2east, of-course most people on this forum has upto 2 to 4 lnbs attached on their prime focus dish vertically  etc.

Good morning,

Atlantic bird 7 to be launched at the end of this year will most likely have the same foot print as Niesat 201.
Atlantic Bird 7 is the satellite that will replace Atlantic bird 4A also know as Nilesat 104 at the end of the year as Atlantic bird 4a will be redeployed to its original orbital position where it will revet to its old name Hotbird 4
satlaunch:
@Kungu
Atlantic Bird 7 launch is expected NET 1 September 2011 according to my sources. Check here for updates: http://satlaunch..com/p/launch-schedule-2011.html

FYI Atlantic Bird 4A is known as HotBird-10. It has been launched two years ago.
@satlaunch ,Ofcourse atlantic bird 4a was launched 2yrs ago @7west, but it will be replaced by atlantic bird 7 to be launched in 4th quarter 2011. Atlantic bird 4a will be redeployed/sent to its original position @13degrees east ,where it will revert to it's original name Hotbird 10,the only error  @kungu's post is Hotbird 4 it should be Hotbird 10.

you can't see  paksat 1 @38degrees with 1.8m dish, nigeria is in west africa ,according to the footprint ,nigeria requires at least a 2.5m dish to track paksat 1, i tracked paksat 1 in enugu, nigeria/west africa with a 2.5m mesh dish, even with a 2.5m mesh dish, i can't get all the C2 transponders , thats by the way, but in abidjan according to the footprint, you need at least 3.9meter dish to track paksat 1 @38east ,on that note you can't track paksat 1 with 1.8meter dish, easier tp star asia 3886/6200 ,cheers
@jibrill 7,
When installing a motorised dish, it's always advisable to use Ku lnb to track because you get more accurate results that way. So if your having problems with your c band lnb, just track those satellites that have combined c+ku frequencies then when you've gotten a perfect arc you can replace the ku lnb with a c band in the same position. Better still get a single combined c+ku lnb like the one in the picture. You get the best of both worlds.
Hope this helps?
I have used the combined c+ku lnb, it is just a waste of money, in that if you put the dielectric plate, try it on intelsat 10@68.5 that has both the ku and c-band tp with linear polarization i.e H/V ,since the dielectric disturbs the H/V polarity on a c-band transponder if not removed ,it will disturb the ku band Transponder as well. i have tested this lnb on intelsat 10 @68.5,with this frequency, 12722V 26657 and 12722H26657 i could not pick both tp @ the same time with the dielectric .if you try it on  eutelsat w7 with the dielectric installed in the lnb ,you can't pick most tp, and if you remove the dielectric you won't pick the most transponders with circular polarity R/L on the c-band. Attaching a ku band lnb separately with c-band lnb on a single dish is the best method to receive  both the c-band tp at the same time.
