The tail wagging the dog

Iweala and her transformation team. $120 a barrel but they still sold us down the river |
OK. If you are talking about yoruba blood, scattered all over the world, you are right. But if you are talking about a new yoruba nation founded by those within the geographical space called Nigeria, then you are exaggerating the population. But to address the core of your matter, the future of Nigeria is bleak. I just do not see this country ever forging any form of togetherness. Most parts of the country seem to chosen their little path to backwardness. Lawani,This is why I commend the SW leaders for trying to make the best out of a bad situation. Probably only Obasanjo has governed with any form of fairness. Look at Jonathan, look at yaradua, look at Buhari and the way they stack government full of their tribesmen. They are seem to be afraid of their own skins. About incomes and revenues. I can assure you, we are better off,out of Nigeria, than within it. Between 1963 and 1999, yoruba intelligentsia spent the better parts of the lives in and out of prison for the country to move the country from dictatorship to a democracy. The problem was not the dictatorship or the democracy , it was the type of leadership . The oil on which they have doubled down upon is destroying the country while countries like India are making $99 BILLION in export by typing "ABCDEF1234,IF,THEN,ELSE" into computers aka programming. |
The wild life in lagos and ogun is being destroyed because of overpopulation |
Paid for and Built by Obasanjo and yaradua The only praise that Jonathan will get is that he did not mess up/destroy the project the same way he destroyed brass and Olokola LNG Obasanjo's ambitious trans - Nigeria project which was planned to gulp $40 billion and change the face of rail transport across Nigeria. The Abuja kaduna section awarded in 2007. Yaradua came in and revised the cost. He rewarded the Kaduna -Abuja section. Yaradua's revised project http://www.railwaysafrica.com/news/china-signs-nigerian-abuja-kaduna-rail-deal First of all, trains never stopped running in Nigeria. From Gowon to Yaradua and to Jonathan , The Nigeria railway has run an epileptic service. That epileptic service improves whenever the government buys a few locomotive, and then deteriorate shortly after when they start aging. There was a period of fair service when Indians were invited to run NRC in the 70's. Same railway working with the useless locomotive before Jonathan. The same railway he brought to Nigeria. Check the dates the videos were posted ( 2009 and 2010). https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k0t_DsTNqZg https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ihmOjnpfKpQ |
Why do they keep painting those ugly road dividers when the paint should have been used to mark the road or to put Road signs. The spellings are obviously wrong but you get the drift.

Oil oil oil Everyone has run mad |
SMH for Nigeria. |
Buhari biggest achievement. 1 To have been able to sustain the government on little or no foreign debt and maximising the local sources of income up until his first budget. For this year budget, the fact that the proposal shows a move away from oil is something to be applauded. 2 Slowing down the rot and preventing what would have become a calamity. Those who do not understand or who have forgotten what it would have look liked should remember 2014 when the banks, telecoms, companies were shutting down. 3 Slowing down the bleeding of our forex reserves and thereby trapping the funds of foreign speculators who were making a mess of /manipulating the Nigerian currency /economy. Basically buy time until conditions improve. 4 Throwing spanners into the works of the Subsidy thieves Jonathan brought into the fuel importation business. Failures 1 The government remains like others,a government suffering from a severe dose of colo - mentality. Until the shackles of colo mentality is broken, nothing will move forward. 2 The government is neither humanist nor afrocentric. It is obvious that mist Nigerian suffer from one sort of inferiority complex or the other. Also being ng afrocentric means moves would have made to start developing the capacity of talented Nigerians to start solving Nigerian problems. I see no reason why our roads are constructed by foreigners while Nigerians are only used for manual labour. I also see no reason why Nigerian cannot start moves towards manufacturing our own power plant. 3 The Government like others before it is always looking for the "in America" or "in -Saudi Arabia solutions. There are moves that can be taken and which would not cost dollars. 4 Herdsmen 5 poor communication(good propaganda) People do not seem to feel that they own the government. When people take ownership of a government, they are open to the alternative narrative Example.Somehow Jonathan was able to convince some people that the country's GDP was because of his magic looting hand/ initiatives, when in actual fact, under him, Nigeria's growth not only slowed but was also undermined. Almost all the new sectors and growth occurred under Obasanjo (Internet, mobile phones, bank consolidation,Rejuvenated music industry, cement etc), and and under Abacha( Nollywood,Satellite TV and private tv and radio). |
Well written |
Why were they doubling down on gas? Lack of strategic planning. |
Dele Momodu should stop talking about the Nigerian economy.Nigeria has no economy. Everything operates in a state of anarchy. Everything Nigerian is a direct reflection of the people inhabiting the geographical space called Nigeria. What can you do about an unproductive country whose people are incapable of doing or manufacturing the most mundane of things? What can you do about a people whose sole purpose in life is the crude accumulation of money( theft) by any means possible? When a good article comes along, I will it that to criticise Buhari's failings. I am yet to seen a high level article that objectively criticises buhari's government. |
It seems that all sorts of charlatans are positioning themselves for the bounty. Never negotiate with terrorists. It is Better to say goodbye to oil than to lose credibility and the authority of the state. |
What difference does it make? In your own country, over 70% of the people are destitutes or have been rendered destitute. You can excuse donations to stuffs like cancer research or like Mo ibrahim's anti corruption initiative. But this one? Oti O. Now, I want anybody to go and research the Primary, secondary or university school attended by most of the wealthy Nigerians. I want you to go to their hometown. I want you to visit the streets they have their primary residences. Your guess is as good as mine. Decayed schools, open sewers, rundown unpaved Streets are what you will see. |
This man is suffering from Paralysis. |
When those put in the position of trust and responsibility are only interested in filling up the vault of secret offshore vaults, decisions will always be at the expense of the country. do not give them oil blocks then. |
MXrep:GEJ conference did not address any problem. He compounded them |
Yep They repeat the same crap and start believing their own bullshit. |
if this thread blows up, I will come back here to talk about the real achievements of Tinubu, Fashola and hint at what I suspect ambode is trying to do |
Oil will destroy that country. For the over 50 years since oil was discovered, it has been a tale of woe ; greed, corruption, lawlessness and mass impoverishment. While states like lagos, ogun and Oyo are showing what is possible if the government( FG,State AND LGA) digs dip, the rest are stuck in the mud of no movement. It will take a miracle to get that country out of the rot. I personally insist that oil should be treated as if it was there. Maybe then, States and LGA will start taxing their citizens to provide services. Maybe then, citizens will start demanding accountability |
This article is a nono. You are blaming the symptom and not the problem. NIGERIANS. |
Buhari has no excuse now. |
This man impresses those who are naturally predisposed to his childish/low IQ antics . this man is a senator for Christ sakes . He should be proferring solutions in the National Assembly. I will end up by posting the characteristics of the dumb supporters by borrowing from a blog post on trump This man speaks Like A Third-Grader. Do you know why he’s appealing to stupidd people? Because he speaks their language. He uses small words and short sentences, and has the general thought process of a child in the third grade .Maybe the fact that he “talks plain” appeals to you, but shouldn’t a senator be pushing bills in the NA ? |
Old but still relevant |
Msteew . Make ins blow am well |
Jonathan dull gan. |
Whether you think it is the most strategic priority or not , you just have to support the face Ambode is putting tax payers money to work. This is something you cannot say of most parts of the country incl the FG |
rapistbuhari:What is this one saying |
Ofodirinwa:No wonder Enugu governor is using bakassi boy for security? |
fkj950ax:You dey mind the didirin |
I am so still trying to understand how people can destroy their homeland and people in the name of religion. After studying the way the international media tend to generalise issues( you have to go to blogs like the Atlantic long read or read books ), my guess is that there are underlying tribal / resource issues involved . Anyone interested should read this article http://news.nationalgeographic.com/2015/03/150314-boko-haram-nigeria-borno-rabih-abubakar-shekau/ |
This guy is a measure of how useless our substandard N10,000 is , compared to what it should be. This guy saw a problem in his environment, and was driven to find solutions to address the problem. These are the type of people( innovators) government should be supporting to create jobs . Not empowering lowlifes with okada |
