CultureRe: Why Do 9gerians Love Giving Themselves Big Titles Such As Pastors,dr E.t.c by odumchi(mod): 4:55am On Jan 28, 2012
Lol you're right.

I've noticed this especially with the clergy. A man can go and open up a church and begin answering titles sch as Rev., Dec., Bishop., etc.

From am external perspective, I think it's just a thing of personal pleasure.

I can care less where KANU is from! I use to think he is from Aro too but he just recently found out that he is from Ihiala,Anambra state.
I am not here to spread lies nor claim KANU but to correct the impression that he is from Aro. According to the article;his family had some conflict with their kinsmen in Ihiala before they relocated to Owerri where his parents remarried. This is a fact!
I don't understand. Are you saying that his parents are from Ihiala? His parents were born and bred in Arochukwu but let's drop the topic.

He is 35. This is his 36th year: he hasn't turned 40 yet.

Jennykadry, His wife is from Arochukwu but KANU just recently learnt he is from IHIALA,ANAMBRA STATE!!!
Kanu is not from Abia state, I was equally shocked myself. The Ihiala community just recently welcomed him and his family back to Ihiala.
Do your research before u start shouting"kanu is from ohafia/arochukwu.
Kanu is from Amannagwu village in Arochukwu. In fact I passed by his house not too long ago. Last year, he hosted a football tornament in Arochukwu.

He was born in Owerre, but his parents are from Arochukwu so therefore he is an Aro man. His wife is from Arochukwu also.

No I don't. This is my first time seeing or hearing such names.
CultureRe: Igbo Names & Their Meanings by odumchi(mod): 1:31am On Jan 25, 2012
Oh ok thanks.

NRI PRIEST:
Odumchi nwanne, I got you, Amalinze is more like a spoken word but it can also stand as a name by itself; There are two words in that name: 1, "amali" which means "to be recognized" and 2,"nze" which is an OZO title young man. So the closest translation I can come up with is: a recognized/famous young OZO titled man. Hope this helps.
@ Chinenye

Let me guess, those are Ngwa names?

NRI PRIEST:
Odumchi, you got it all wrong with the Arinze name;It has nothing to do with Amalinze. Arinze is usually Anambra/Enugu name and it means;for the sake of God,If not for God, its kinda hard to translate but am not too far from it.
I asked someone for the translation since I didn't know it. I was told that Amarinze is the long form of Arinze. But thanks for clearing that up.

So what then is Amalinze?

PoliticsRe: Who Is Your Best Nigeria President Ever? by odumchi: 3:37am On Jan 24, 2012
President Nnamdi Azikiwe, Aguiyi Ironsi, and Murtala Mohammed were the beat Nigeria ever had. Abubakar Tafawa Baleea was also Nigeria's best prime minister.

The last great leader of Nigeria was Murtala Mohammed. After him, Nigeria turned rotten.

muyoto:
6000 refineries? do you guys know how much space a single refinery occupies? nonsense!!
The said refineries aren't like normal refineries. They aren't large building complexes with smokestacks and etc. Rather, they can be as small as a shack. A small shack with a gasoline generator, a fuel tank and a filter pump qualifies as a refinery. The main reason the government is after these type of roadside refineries is because they produce cheap, and often times substandard petrol. If you've ever seen people standing by the roadside selling cheap gasoline, it was most likely produced in a secret refinery somewhere in the bushes.

There is a really funny Naija comedy movie. The main characters were Mo and Ibo-I think. They were father and son but they had a dysfunctional relationship. One scene the father gives a couple his son as a wedding gift. Do any of you guys know what the movie was called. It had me laughing everytime I saw it.

Please sit down. You've clearly shown that you know nothing about the Nigerian-Biafran war.

oduasolja:
You dragged this country through a bloody war , because of your desire to control the land and resources of other people. hundreds of thousands died on all sides.

and now you are trying to place the blame on others. When it was your perfidy and cunning that led us to war.

you  talk about you were fighting for your freedom but at the same time you were trying to deprive so called minorities of the eastern region their freedom.

Well listen, even in a million years you will not convert minority land into your own.

That so called minority land will always remain minority land.

And if this country breaks up , they will have the same right as all to determine their destiny.
