It's indeed a great pleasure to be in your midst today. I wish to bring the attention of the public towards the FSW & CEC Express Entry Draws that is set to resume tomorrow being on the July 6, 2022. As many of you already know, this is Canada's major immigration pathway and is few hours away from a full resumption. The country is expected to see an increase in the number of newcomers over the next few years. This entails that potential immigrants can finally approach their immigration plans with a great deal of optimism through this route.
It would be an amazing idea if you guys could also explore this route for there are many on this platform who don't know how to navigate their way through this immigration pathway of becoming a Permanent resident of Canada. If I take the time to assess the participants (both active and passive readers) on this platform, you all will definitely see that over 55.5% of individuals here qualify to become a PR but undivulged to them due to lack of rudimentary knowledge about the whole process. Some see Express Entry stream as a difficult one, hence focusing all their energy and attention to study permit.
It is relevant to say that while you're pursuing your dream of studying in Canada, you can also explore other immigration streams like Express Entry, for it is also feasible to be an international student and have your PR before graduation. This will be at your own benefit as your exorbitant international student fees will be slashed/reduced to that of a Canadian citizen.
As clearly stated on IRCC immigration regulations and manuals, - having 2 intents (1 for temporary residence and 1 for permanent residence) is legitimate, insofar you can demonstrate that you will depart Canada at the end of your authorized stay as required by section R179. On this note, you can have both Study Permit and Express Entry profile running concurrently!
Don't waste more time! Let this piece of information be an insight and eye opener to the smart ones here especially now that the borders have finally reopened. So, you can be in a position to receive an ITA through EE stream.
1. Proof of funds 2. Education Requirements: Get your credentials evaluated by WES, 3. Language Proficiency - Have a good score in your IELTS exam by scoring 8,7,7,7 and 4. Show proof of work experience. At minimum, you need at least one year of skilled work experience within the past 10 years that will match your primary occupation in your immigration application. To get the full 15 points, you need at least six years of eligible work experience. Having only one year of work experience will get you nine points. Two to three years is enough for 11 points, and four to five years equates to 13 points.
Having said all of the above, I wish everyone the best of luck in their pursuit for a brighter future in Canada.

ShallyK: My Story This dream started in 2011 during NYSC and with no one to finance my study abroad plans, at that time, I didn't know about Canadian schools with full scholarship as I finished with a 4.17 CGPA. So I aborted mission in 2014 when I got a better job. Thou from 2011, I had started saving aggressive for my immigration plans, in between then and now, I have travelled to the US twice and once to Canada for holiday. The plan was to build travel history and migrate legitimately. Imagine my shock when I got my first study permit refusal Jan this year.
Got gingered in 2017 when my Sister and her family were reallocating to Canada via PR, started the process, score not sufficient for ITA, took a PGD course in 2019 to boost, while waiting for ITA, age took off points, then Covid happened in 2020. I decided to try Canadian visit visa since they were favouring family of PR and Citizens, so I applied and got the visa in 2021. Went to Canada and fell in love with the place and people. It was during this trip I started to consider other routes of migration to Canada, then the study pathway came up during my research. I looked it up on Nairaland, found this thread when it was in part 18 and started reading and following people's stories.
I got admission to Fanshawe for Jan 22, defered to May 22 cos of late payment of deposit. I wanted hubby to come with me, so I delayed applying for study permit till Nov21 while he applied for visit visa in Oct, then the waiting started for both of us. I was so sure I will get the visa as I still had a valid Canadian visit visa and been to the USA twice, but that didn't count ooo cos I got denied on the 30th Jan22. Honestly I panicked! The only reason they gave was personal assets and financial status, I was shocked because I paid tuition deposit, had N12m statement, earn over 500k monthly, N2m Sukuku bond. I ran to Nairaland, opened this account and solicited for help. I got several reponses, thanks to everyone.
What I did differently Requested for my GCMS using my sister's email. I know this will take 30 days so I used the wait period to pay my tuition balance via form A and bought 12kCAD GIC. Also, during the wait, I went to renew my international passport as it was expiring in June. Unfortunately, my BVN was in my husband's name so I had to do change of name before passport could be renewed. All these activities took my mind off the visa refusal. When the note came Feb ending, it showed the document submitted does not support funds will be available or sufficient. I reapplied 18th March and added my hubby to my application as we were yet to get response to his visit visa application that was submitted Oct21. Documents Submitted I applied via the new portal on the 18th of March Study Permit (Mine) SOP - stated strongly that I have fully paid tuition and bought GIC of 12k for my living expenses, talked about the course I am going for and how it will help boost my current career. Mentioned my hometies: parents and other siblings, job (earn close to 600k, did not get letter from office but used my employment letter and payslip), hubby and the Sukuku bond. BSC & PGD certificates and Car documents were also submitted. Past visa pages with stamps to show travel history. Financial Proof (self sponsored) - Full tuition fee receipts, GIC certificate, 4 months payslip, 4 months bank SOA with less than N3m balance, Pension SOA, Sukuku Bond certificate.
Visit Visa (Hubby) SOP - stated he was going to help me settle, get accommodation and do the run around. Also that he having the visa will give him some form of rest of mind back home in Nigeria as it will enable him easily travel to me in case of any emergency I encounter over there. Home Ties - his aged mother and siblings (he did not include their birth certificate or pictures), Job ( letter of introduction stating he is entitled to 25 days leave), 4 months payslip, Salary and Savings SOA (both combined were less than N2m) Proof of Financial - SOA, payslip, my full tuition fee and my GIC certificate (both to show I am not a liability to him). My SOA ( I wrote a letter of support that I will be accommodating him in Canada and also purchase his ticket), so my GIC of 12k was evidence of that and my SOA is were the flight ticket will be purchased. We did a table in the financial proof letter to show he will handle his PTA N300k and indicated the account that will come from. Also showed cost of the flight ticket which was about N515k and tallies with the holding ticket we attached, we indicated that will come from my own savings account. On invitation, he stated he was visiting spouse, he used Fanshawe address as the address he is visiting. We attached an holding flight ticket, to show how much it will cost and his duration of visit (3 weeks). Marriage certificate He does not have any travel history.
After submission, we started waiting and hoping approval will come in April cos school resumes in May. I did not send any email, was just hoping and praying. Last week in April, I had to defer my admission again, I got the new LOA (Jan22) on the 13th of May. I sent it immediately via email and web to Nairobi, then 20th of May, BVL dropped for both hubby and I and PPR for hubby. I wasn't surprised I didnt get PPR, recall I said my passport was expiring in June. I still had not gotten the renewed passport as at then. Picked up my new passport now in Hubby's name on the 26th May and sent it via webform and email to nairobi that same day. There was no response, a week after I resent it alongside my marriage certificate, change of name Affidavit and newspaper Publication.... Just to show its still me. Still no response, so I gave them two week....nothing. I started sending weekly emails and webform to Abuja, Lagos and Nairobi...then yesterday BVL and PPR dropped and they both indicated my new name. It ended in praise!
For those still waiting, it will surely end in praise.
Ps: My long story is just to encourage someone out there and for people to learn from my experience. This is my way of giving back to all I got here on Nairaland right from when I applied for my first USA visa in 2015 till this very day. .
Thanks for the response I think is a diploma course but this is the admission requirement International students are required to hold a minimum of an undergraduate degree in Business, Commerce, Finance or Accounting bachelor degree A Higher National Diploma from Nigeria and Ghana are exceptions In lieu of an undergraduate degree in the above fields, a combination of a bachelor degree, a professional accounting designation, AND work experience related to accounting or finance may be considered on an exceptional basis. The Cumulative Grade Point Average (GPA) or Final Percentage on these transcripts will be assessed for eligibility. If a higher degree is attained (post-graduate diploma, Master’s, or PhD) the minimum GPA or Percentage must be attained in all degrees. N.B Have seen pgd program related to my work experience but they are all one year program. And am looking for a two years program. So I will be automatically qualify for 3year pgwp after study.
ShowYoung: Financial Management is good for you as a graduate of Economics and will prove career progression as you claim it relates to your job roles, but the doubt is on the educational level of the program
Is it a Post Degree Diploma, PGD/PGC? Is it an undergraduate diploma?
If it is an undergraduate program, you may find it hard but not impossible to convince the VO as regards career progression.
Good evening everyone please can some clarify this for me. Am applying to a school in university of Winnipeg under professional and applied continue education. And the course am going for is financial management a 2years course , and it's related to my job discription. I really don't know if this program will make it difficult to convince the VO about my intention. Because I have a BSc in economics. And have been working with an oil firm for over 4 years now. I hope I am on the right track. I really don't want to make any mistake. Someone should advise me please.
Guys pls support your fellow Uber/bolt driver don't let this talent go to waste pls subscribe to my channel and turn on the bell thank https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VBkE2OIef7k
I remember going to pick a lady, as I got there, I met another vehicle at the entrance of the gate which I quickly knew to be on ehailing.
The last came out and as she was about entering my vehucle, the driver of the other vehicle came down to meet her.
The lady said, ooh, "sorry you're the uber driver I initially booked. I was supposed to cancel but I forgot" That was how she entered my vehicle and we zoomed off.
I asked her what happened and she said she booked the guy before me but he took a lot of time. After she waited like 20 minutes, she checked on bolt and saw a driver was close to her but she forgot to cancel the other trip.
I felt the guys pain and can't imagine myself in that position.

kanuisagoat: Long before I started driving on bolt, I occasionally come here and wonder why drivers complain about riders not paying fares of 1000-3000. The money felt too insignificant. Now that I drive myself, I understand the pain of those drivers who were "scammed".
Now to my experience today
I carried this rider today. Fare was 3100, bolt to pay 100 and customer 3000.
On getting to customers destination, she said the friend she went to meet(a guy) will be the one to pay.
The guy said he has no cash with him and will do a transfer. I declined and requested he does cashback and pays me from a close POS shop.
His response was, he's still expecting the money he wants to pay with in his account and I just have to hold on for the money to reflect. I waited for quite a while and when the said money didn't reflect in his account, I realised I was losing more than the N3000 from other trips I was not taking so I gave him my account number and collected his phone number. From the moment I left, the guy stopped responding to my calls.
The lady on the other hand requested I go back to the guys house where I dropped her to collect the money. The place was not too far from where I stay so I branched on my way home. On getting there both of them are no where to be found. The ladys number is now switched off and the guy still deliberately ignoring my calls.
This is now a clear case of fraud and I plan to teach these ones a lesson they'll never forget. The plan is to arrest the lady at her house by Monday morning if I don't get the money before then. I don't mind spending 100k to chase that 3000. These ones must be taught a lesson.
dru23: If engine is burning oil like that, better to check pc valves and engine oil seal .. I experince similar issues like that, I was told to use heavy grade oil .. I said no , and took the car to another mechanic.. Engine cover was open ,and we found out the oil seal was worn out .. The seal was replaced and problem solved.....
So please car owners out there. Before anyone tells to start using thicker oil coz of oil burn make sure u check the basic things pc valves and ask a mechanic to open the engine cover to check for any worn out seal ... Ayodele Bishop did the job for me .. The first was a civic 03 than a Camry 07 and than elantra 08.. Also use good oil preferable USA brands.. Most cars in Nigeria now are USA imports ,it only makes sense to use USA brand oil for the car.. The oil are specifically formulated for such
All this places you mention now, is it not better to just stay at home. Because if u don't go all this places how do u intend to make money?
Ochima75: When it's raining and you are going to the island. 1. Avoid berger-inward iyana woro- inward third mainland. Rather use ikeja, gbagada and continue.
2. Avoid mile 2(I don't even go there no matter what), festac, Ago, surulere (aguda & so on), traffic & water in these areas are like 5 & 6.
3. Avoid ketu, mile 12 on ikorodu road.
4. Be wary of ogba. Latter rain axis
5. Be wary of agege, abule egba interiors(its either traffic or flood due to bad roads 5&6)
I go to festac everytime and I have no business with mile 2. If am going from island. I take the long bridge to oshodi. Then sometimes I take ago Palace or festac access or apple junction then going out from festac strickly ago Palace I can never reject trip to festac because I don't stay long b4 I get a rider out
dckng16: Baba with your vast experience in the biz u still dey hustle go festac, with that big dish at mile 2 and containers and tankers wey full everywhere . The last time I went to festac 2 containers nearly fell on me. I was shouting blood of Jesus till I got to my riders destination. It was such a horrible experience I will never forget. Festac is a no go area until government fix that death trap at mile 2.
Egungun becareful ooo. If u keep ignoring request u are automatically killing your activity score. And you might get block. Or request will hardly come to you.
