Politically motivated donations. The man is deceitful. A pretender. He cannot be trusted for anything.
I’m not sure, correct me if I’m wrong but I don’t think Tinubu has ever made any donations, whether politically motivated or not, to the poor and needy, schools, or orphanages. On the contrary, he has been stealing from them, through a 'Blueprint' conduit pipe to siphon funds from the Lagos State treasury, money that belongs to poor Lagosians and is meant to improve their standard of living into his personal pocket for over two decades and counting
PoliticsRe: 2015 Coalition Versus 2027 Gang Up by Ofunaofu: 6:55am On Jul 18, 2025
NewHe:
In 2015 it was Nigerians against the PDP via coalition and eventual merger of political parties but this time around it's going to be the gang up of Coalition of Men Against One Man!
Mr President, please don't despair because;
"A thousand may fall at your side, ten thousand at your right hand, but it will not come near you. You will only look with your eyes and see the punishment of the wicked.

Because you have made the Lord your refuge, the Most High your dwelling place, no evil shall befall you, no scourge come near your tent.

For he will command his angels concerning you to guard you in all your ways. On their hands they will bear you up, so that you will not dash your foot against a stone" (Psalm 91:7-12).
Just as it was in 2015, it is even worse now. Nigerians are more resolute in ensuring that this regime which has only succeeded in dishing out wicked and draconian policies masquerading as economic reforms does not spend a second beyond May 29, 2027. The current coalition is merely a vehicle through which Nigerians intend to achieve that goal.

Go to the streets of various cities in Nigeria; it's the same chorus everywhere: 'Anything but Tinubu' is what they want.

PoliticsWike Left 2,000 Hectares Of Mountain For UNIAbuja – Pro-Chancellor by Ofunaofu(op): 8:48pm On Jul 17, 2025
The Pro-Chancellor of the University of Abuja, Sen. Olanrewaju Tejuoso, has reacted to the controversy surrounding the retrieval of the university’s land by the Minister of Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike.

According to Tejuoso, the 4,000 hectares of land allocated to the university are not entirely usable, as 2,000 hectares of it is mountainous terrain

Recall that at the inauguration of the access road to the Giri district in FCT on June 30, Wike alleged that the university ‘grabbed’ 11,000 hectares of land, adding that only 4,000 hectares will be allocated to the institution.

Speaking on Arise TV on Thursday, Tejuoso explained that the 11,000 hectares of land were allocated to the university by former president Ibrahim Babangida and that the development of the institution is an ongoing process.

“And he had his vision of the University of Abuja to be the flagship of universities all over the country… We had 11,000 hectares so that we could keep on developing. No university develops in a day.

“Even no state government develops in a day. If that is the case, the Honourable Minister of FCT wouldn’t have made a statement to start doing projects if they had already finished all the development. It’s a continuous exercise,” he said.

Tejuoso revealed that the university has been attracting partnerships and investments, including a cancer research centre, and that the threat to the land is hampering these efforts.

He noted that the university has memoranda of understanding (MOUs) with partners, adding that the university’s development and growth are being hindered by the uncertainty over the land.

The Pro-Chancellor suggested that the FCT Minister, Wike, could take over the mountainous part of the land and develop it, rather than taking the usable land.

“Let me first of all tell you that even the 4,000 hectares you are talking about, 2,000 hectares of it is a mountain. When you fly out of Abuja Airport, the mountain you see is in the university. So, looking at what has been proposed, we only have 2,000 hectares because we have a mountain of 2,000. Maybe Minister Wike should come and take over the mountain and develop it,” he said.

He expressed confidence that President Bola Tinubu would do the right thing in the matter, adding that the Minister of Education is also having discussions with the FCT minister over the issue.

“Everything is owned by the federal government. So if the federal government decides that it doesn’t want the University of Abuja to exist or to develop, so be it. I was appointed by the president to be the pro-chancellor, the chairman of the council, and I inherited what we have now.

“So if the federal government decides that it wants to reduce what I’m going to govern over, what can I say? But what is important is there’s no way that we can have a successful vision if they reduce what we are marketing to partners,” he said.

Meanwhile, the acting vice chancellor of the university, Prof. Lar Patricia Manko, has reiterated that the 11,000 hectares of land is a legacy asset given to the institution by the federal government.

During an interview with newsmen on Thursday, Manko, while acknowledging Wike as FCT landlord, said the university land can never be too much, and the institution has a plethora of uses for the property.

Manko, who stated that the controversy is already being handled, noted that the university has plans for the use of the expanse of land ranging from agriculture, tourism, research centres, quarters for members of staff and student hostels, among others.

The acting VC said that due to a lack of funds to finance some of the projects, the institution has entered into some memoranda of understanding for the development.

She noted that the current staff quarters of the institution are temporarily built on plots of land given to the university by the military, and there are plans to construct permanent structures at the institution’s permanent site.

The acting VC said there are many investors who are partnering with the institution in the development of the projects on the 11,000 hectares of land

For the information of these random and highly uninformed posters right on this thread engaging in disinformation and historical revisionism, the former President Goodluck Jonathan had an agreement NOT to go for a 2nd-term in 2015 as President with the PDP power brokers after Yar'Adua passed on and it was widely circulated in the credible online and offline media outlets indicating that Goodluck Jonathan said he was NOT going to recontest after his 1st full tenure as President ended but he reneged. .

His failure to honor that political agreement led to many far-Northern Nigeria and Middle Belt PDP members leaving that political party for the APC. Therefore, contrary to the total B.S. that poster on page 1 of this thread wrote, the current President Bola Tinubu of Nigeria or other Southern Nigeria political members of the APC (or any other political party) NEVER betrayed Goodluck Jonathan in 2015 by voting against him. Period.

Is it the Bini or the Itsekiris?

Which part, exactly?

This isn’t about Jonathan the man, it’s about what Tinubu and his gang did to the entire Southern region in 2015. When it was time for the South to complete a fair 8-year term, Tinubu sold out, handing power to the North just to feed his own ambition. Where was your “Southern solidarity” then?

EducationMrs Soludo Celebrates, As Another Anambra School Wins Global Competition by Ofunaofu(op): 7:46pm On Jul 16, 2025
Barely one month after St John Vianney College, Ukwulu, Anambra State, won an international debate among Nigerian and United Kingdom schools, another school in the state, Myrtle Vine Academy, Onitsha has won the global school connect in London, UK.

Wife of the Anambra State governor, Mrs Nonye Soludo, who commended the school, said it is part of the ongoing educational revolution in the state.

Mrs Soludo said: “I wish to celebrate the brilliant students of Myrtle Vine Academy, Onitsha, Anambra State, who just conquered the world in the recent Global School Connect tournament in London, United Kingdom.

“By demonstrating extraordinary intelligence, our students defeated their counterparts from other countries to clinch the Director’s Award for Social Enterprise and then emerged runner-up to bring home the Creative Impact Award.

“What these amazing kids have shown is nothing far from Anambra’s universal identity. Our state is, unarguably, a cradle of greatness and excellence.

“Let me also congratulate the management of the school for investing in learning and competitive academic exposure for their students.”

She promised that the state administration will continue to prioritize quality, competitive, accessible and inclusive educational opportunities for every child living in Anambra State to tap into and excel.

"why are you crying more than the bereaved" deflection as if critical thinking is now limited to only those directly affected.

This isn’t about Patience Jonathan, GEJ, or even Bayelsa’s voting history. It’s about historical consistency or the lack of it. In 2015, a southern presidency was derailed by a coalition that Tinubu helped build. Tinubu with his allies truncated it. He sabotage southern solidarity. Now suddenly, we’re expected to sing “Southern solidarity” because Tinubu is president?

Bayelsans voting APC once doesn’t erase what happened in 2015 nor does it justify weaponizing that past to shame people into silence today. People remember. And reminding others of that betrayal isn't “pain,” it’s political awareness something clearly in short supply on your end.

If reducing every critical opinion to "IPOB" is your only political argument, it's no wonder the bar keeps getting lower. Lazy labeling doesn't erase history.

Let me remind you: in 2015, Tinubu, the “southerner” you're now praising was at the forefront of the alliance that cut short the South’s chance at an unbroken eight-year presidency. That’s not solidarity; that’s sabotage.

As for Patience Jonathan, political endorsements are not DNA tests for loyalty. She's entitled to her decision just like millions of other Southerners are entitled to theirs. You don’t have to be “more GEJ than her” to recognize betrayal when you see it.

Educate yourself before trying to school others. Nigeria’s politics isn't driven by blind fandom or at least, it shouldn't be.

PoliticsPDP To Nigerians: Leave Atiku’s Exit, Let’s Focus On Hunger by Ofunaofu(op): 6:19pm On Jul 16, 2025
The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has downplayed the resignation of former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, urging Nigerians to shift attention from political defections to more urgent issues such as hunger and economic hardship.

Atiku formally quit the PDP on Wednesday, citing irreconcilable differences and the party’s departure from its founding ideals. He also expressed disappointment with its current direction in a letter addressed to the party chairman of his Jada 1 Ward in Adamawa State.

Reacting to the development, a senior member of the PDP’s National Working Committee (NWC), who spoke exclusively to Vanguard in Abuja, described Atiku’s move as unsurprising.

“Atiku’s departure from the PDP is nothing new. Hasn’t he left the party before? Did anything fundamentally change?” the party official said.

He also took aim at the media, accusing it of focusing too much on political realignments instead of the suffering of ordinary Nigerians.

“Meanwhile, people are hungry. Are our lives solely defined by politicians switching parties?”

In his resignation letter, Atiku thanked the PDP for opportunities it provided him—including his time as Vice President and two-time presidential candidate—but said the decision to leave was “heartbreaking,” given how far the party had veered from its original vision.

His exit follows growing speculation that he is working alongside former Labour Party presidential candidate Peter Obi and other opposition figures under the African Democratic Congress (ADC) to form a broad political coalition ahead of the 2027 general elections.

The move signals potential realignment in Nigeria’s political landscape as opposition parties seek to mount a credible challenge to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).

Efforts to get an official response from the PDP’s National Publicity Secretary, Hon. Debo Ologunagba, were unsuccessful, as he did not respond to multiple calls

Peter Obi, the presidential candidate of the Labour Party, LP, in the 2023 general election, has revealed what late former President Muhammadu Buhari told him during his campaign.

Obi, who paid a condolence visit to Buhari’s family in Daura on Wednesday, came third in the 2023 presidential election.

The former Anambra governor consulted Buhari, who was the then President of Nigeria, to inform him of his desire to succeed him.

Speaking to the press after the condolence visit in Daura, Katsina State, Obi recalled his conversation with the former President.

I had the opportunity of meeting him while I was campaigning. And I remember his words, ‘Please care for the poor Nigerians’. That I can still remember. And I believe he did his best within his capacity,” Obi said.

The former President was buried in his hometown of Daura, Katsina State on Tuesday.

DAILY POST reported on Sunday that Buhari passed on in London, the United Kingdom, at 82 years.

The Katsina born politician served as a military Head of State and democratically elected President of Nigeria.
