Let’s be real, Peter Obi barely lifted a finger for Agulu when he had the power, but now that Anambra elections are around the corner, he’s suddenly Mr. Generous? Don’t be fooled, these “gifts” are just wrapped-up campaign flyers for the opposition, and folks need to see through the strategy. I feel your pain. We know your type. If he had done it while he was in power, you would have accused him of using government money to develop only his community and neglect others. Now that he’s doing it as a private citizen, you're still upset. You're clearly pained |

Politics › 2027: Kaduna Opposition Unites Under ADC To Dethrone APC by Ofunaofu(op): 5:48pm On Jul 15, 2025 |
The Coalition of Political Opposition in Kaduna State, alongside stakeholders of the African Democratic Congress, on Monday declared a sweeping move to dislodge the ruling All Progressives Congress and Governor Uba Sani in the 2027 elections.
At a press briefing in Kaduna, the leaders, drawn from former members of the APC, Peoples Democratic Party and Labour Party, vowed to build a formidable political force that would unify citizens, end divisive politics, and prioritise people-centred development.
The briefing, addressed by Malam Salihu Lukman on behalf of the coalition and ADC stakeholders, also had the blessing of high-profile opposition figures, including Sen. Nenadi Usman, Sen. Datti Baba Ahmed, Dr. John Ayuba, Sen. Musa Bello, and Alhaji Shuaibu Idris Mikati, who all appended their signatures to the communiqué.
Lukman, a former APC National Vice Chairman (Northwest), said Kaduna State has suffered under leaders who ride on citizens’ frustration to seize power, only to worsen the hardship through discriminatory, self-serving, and lawless governance.
He noted that following the national adoption of ADC as the coalition’s platform for the 2027 polls, the Kaduna stakeholders have commenced consultations and verification exercises across the 23 local governments and 255 wards to erect a solid grassroots structure.
According to him, work is underway to ensure that the ADC does not become another “business-as-usual project reduced to errand boys and surrogates of ambitious politicians,” stressing that individual ambitions, particularly governorship interests, would be shelved until the party’s foundation is firmly laid.
“The era of godfatherism and imposition is over. We are determined to ensure that no single leader hijacks ADC structures in Kaduna. All stakeholders will have equal say, and majority decisions will be respected,” he said.
Lukeman further revealed that the coalition has drawn inspiration from the national template, which united all major opposition leaders around a single goal: to defeat President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the APC by producing one presidential candidate in 2027.
“Applying that to Kaduna means we must unite to remove the APC and Governor Uba Sani. No one can do it alone. We must avoid turning the ADC into another personal property for political bargaining,” he said.
The coalition leaders appealed to aspiring opposition politicians to demonstrate tolerance and openness, warning that intolerance breeds discrimination, rigging and abuse of power — the very vices they seek to end.
On the question of the tenure of existing ADC executives in the state, Lukman clarified that the party’s Interim National Chairman, David Mark, has assured all state chairmen that their leadership remains intact pending further guidelines.
He disclosed that plans are underway for mass membership registration across the state, promising that the ADC would soon announce registration centres in all local governments to allow citizens eager for change to enlist.
The coalition insisted that only a truly democratic platform with internal checks can produce leaders with the character to rescue Nigeria’s battered democracy and deliver good governance.
“May God crown our efforts with success and grant Nigeria leaders who will selflessly meet public expectations,” Lukman said as he rounded off a fiery briefing that sets the stage for an intense political season in Kaduna. https://punchng.com/2027-kaduna-opposition-unites-under-adc-to-dethrone-apc/

EroticJane: the coastal highway project is currently ongoing if you are blind to see it, then blame yourself. You should be talking about other Tinubu's obvious corrupt practices like the billions they allocated to Yatch from the budget. The coastal highway is a good project and will come to completion So to you, as long as something is being built, corruption magically vanishes? That logic is exactly why Nigeria keeps sinking. shiny projects used as smokescreens for elite looting. Listen, no one is denying that a coastal highway could be beneficial. What’s being exposed is how it was awarded and who benefits. No transparency, no competitive bidding, no environmental impact assessment, just a ₦15 trillion contract handed to Gilbert Chagoury, Tinubu’s long-time crony, like it’s family inheritance. You want to talk about progress? Real development isn’t about pouring concrete, it’s about accountability, inclusion, and value for money. A road lined with corruption won’t lead to prosperity. Also, conveniently diverting attention to the yacht scandal doesn’t absolve this project. Corruption isn’t either-or it’s cumulative. And under Tinubu, it’s looking like Buhari was just the warm-up act. If we’re serious about Nigeria’s future, then we need to stop clapping for white elephant projects wrapped in shady deals. This isn’t development. It’s daylight robbery with a panoramic ocean view. |

Apel147: Both of you up are hypocrites, so what pdp did in 16yrs was not corruption? 16 billion dollars for energy and money went down the drain during Obasanjo's regime, and mind you this was direct from the presidency! Many of his monsters and even his IG of police were convicted of corruption charges and served jail terms..
His vice Atiku was openly accused of corruption by his principal obasanjo and was indicted in the Halliburton bribery scandal, and Jefferson the US Congress man served jail terms!
Pin point any project started and completed by that regime!
Are you overlooking the highest corruption heist by several appointees of Jonathan administration? Diezani Madueke, Sambo Dasuki, Andrew Yakubu ex GMD NNPC, Kola Aluko and jide omokere, Dan Etete etc who stole monies in billions of dollars? How can we forget the role of pastor Oritsejafor whose Private jet was caught with monies meant for arms procurement in South Africa?
What projects were started and finished by that administration?
If you wanna throw stones please do it without bias, there is no corruption cause any one of you can tie Buhari and Tinubu to, meanwhile Buhari remains the only president who have directly done major projects from start to finish in Nigeria's post independent history! Keffi to Makurdi road dualizatuon spanning over 200kilimeters, the Enugu axis is currently ongoing in Tinubu's government, Second Niger bridge is visible for all to see! He completed the Abuja Kaduna rail project! I am a beneficiary of the COVID loan, I also know of family members, friends who benefitted from those loans too!
Tinubi's govt is doing the coastal roads and the projects are ongoing simultaneously!
Not running brief for any of them but pointing out the hypocrisy is avoiding pdp and accusing others as if they gave us heaven on earth? Let’s be clear, my argument isn’t with PDP. I was responding to a claim that Buhari’s regime was the worst in corruption and pointing out that Tinubu’s takes it even further. A ₦15 trillion coastal highway handed to his Lebanese ally without bidding, transparency, or due process isn’t reform, it’s a bigger, bolder heist. You can’t keep using PDP’s past to excuse today’s corruption. The looting didn’t end it just got a beachfront view. |

Politics › Buhari Resisted IMF, World Bank To Protect Poor — Wabba, Ex-NLC President by Ofunaofu(op): 6:55am On Jul 15, 2025 |
Reacting to the news of Buhari’s passing in a statement on Sunday, Wabba said the former President’s death , came as a shock to many Nigerians, especially workers who benefitted directly from his empathy and economic policies aimed at uplifting the downtrodden.
“What was meant to be a routine health check in London, United Kingdom, sadly turned into the demise of a Commander-in-Chief who will long be remembered for standing firmly with the poor and vulnerable,” Wabba stated.
Wabba recalled how shortly after assuming office in 2015, Buhari approved a $2.1 billion bailout package for cash-strapped states to help clear the backlog of unpaid salaries and pension arrears. “He was deeply moved by the hardship faced by workers. He once asked state governors how they managed to sleep at night knowing that their workers were owed salaries,” Wabba recounted.
In 2017, Buhari further demonstrated solidarity with workers by releasing another tranche of bailout funds running into billions of naira to assist states in liquidating outstanding salary and pension obligations. “Regrettably, some unscrupulous governors diverted the funds,” Wabba lamented.
He also praised Buhari’s role in the national minimum wage negotiations. “President Buhari was committed to improving workers’ welfare. During talks on a new minimum wage, he proposed a figure even higher than the N30,000 that was eventually agreed. Unfortunately, the resistance of many state governors prevented a more generous outcome,” he said.
According to Wabba, Buhari’s most significant pro-poor policy was his steadfast refusal to remove the petrol subsidy, despite immense pressure from international financial institutions. “Despite intense pressure from the IMF and the World Bank, President Buhari stood his ground and refused to increase the price of refined petroleum products beyond the reach of ordinary Nigerians. He chose to stand with the people,” he said.
Wabba noted that history would judge leaders not by their rhetoric but by the impact they make in the lives of the people. “President Buhari made a difference where it mattered most—among workers, pensioners, and the poor,” he added.
Concluding his tribute, Wabba prayed for the peaceful repose of the late President’s soul. “We pray that Allah forgives his shortcomings and grants him Aljannah Firdaus. On behalf of myself and my family, I extend heartfelt condolences to the former First Lady, Mrs. Aisha Buhari, the children, the entire Buhari family, and close associates and friends of the late President. https://www.vanguardngr.com/2025/07/buhari-resisted-imf-world-bank-to-protect-poor-wabba-ex-nlc-president-2/

Politics › Buhari: ADC Declares Mourning Period, Warns Against Political Opportunism by Ofunaofu(op): 2:58am On Jul 15, 2025 |
The party said, “We therefore wish to alert the family and loyalists of the late president to be wary of political opportunism.’’
Further to our earlier statement on the passing of former President Muhammadu Buhari, the African Democratic Congress (ADC) hereby declares a three-day mourning period across all its chapters and structures, commencing Tuesday, July 15, 2025. During this period, the party will suspend all political activities and public statements.
This is in solemn recognition of President Buhari’s contribution to the Nigerian nation—as citizen, as a soldier, as military head of state and as a democratically elected President. Regardless of political affiliations, what cannot be denied is that President Buhari served this country with a fierce sense of duty, personal discipline, and conviction. With his force of personal example, Buhari inspired millions across social divides, but especially the poor, who adored and stuck with him throughout his political sojourn and thereafter.
Meanwhile, ADC notes with regret that his own political party and the government that had done everything in the last two years to tarnish his records, dismantle his legacies and blame him for every one of their failings, are now posturing as the chief mourners at his burial. This is sheer hypocrisy and a brazen move to harvest political gains from a national tragedy. We therefore wish to alert the family and loyalists of the late president to be wary of political opportunism.
The ADC urges Nigerians to remember President Buhari for what he represented at his best: integrity, humility, and a deep commitment to public service. Let his memory be a mirror that reflects the personal ethics that we must continue to demand from leadership for generations to come.
Signed:
Mallam Bolaji Abdullahi Interim National Publicity Secretary, African Democratic Congress (ADC) Spokesperson, Opposition Coalition https://x.com/BolajiADC/status/1944736750426783905?t=GfZjT8FKuscLAsfCTeSF5A&s=19

Tinubu dipped his hands into our commonwealth, dolled out trillions, and handed it over to his Chagoury ally under the guise of development. That’s not anti-corruption, that’s corruption with a beachfront view. Let’s not pretend this is about integrity. Politics › Re: Bayo Onanuga Reacts After Amaechi Said When Tinubu Was Angry, He Went With Elruf by Ofunaofu: 2:11am On Jul 15, 2025 |
TimeManager: Indeed internet never forgets. And you can imagine these two individuals - Ameachi and Elrufai who were on their knees begging Tinubu for the rescue of their political souls are the ones making unguarded utterances against same man. I could also recall that Amaechi during the speech, was telling Tinubu that he's finished if they lose, that GEJ will stop him from running out of the country and lock him up in jail. The most unfortunate of this are the inconsequential elements who were no where to be found during this process but were fortunate to be appointed by Buhari, they have found their voices to deceive the gullible and discredit the brain child behind the process, the likes of Boss Mustapha, Laurette Onochie & the likes who were a nobody even in their wards at the time. Today, Ameachi and Elrufai are fronting a charade against the man they called their leader but like other saboteurs and backstabbers before them who had dared this same path in the past, the outcome will always be the same - they shall all fail.
-Kiss the truth! The old and busted “Tinubu as saviour” fairy tale dusted off every time reality refuses to cooperate with the myth. It’s almost poetic how the same people you now label as traitors were once celebrated as strategic allies in the so-called rescue mission. Were they begging for political salvation, or were they co-architects of a doomed blueprint disguised as a “progressive” change agenda, now rebranded as the Renewed Hopelessness agenda? Let’s not pretend loyalty to an individual should trump loyalty to truth, competence, or the Nigerian people. Tinubu wasn’t betrayed, he was simply exposed. And if Amaechi, El-Rufai, or even Boss Mustapha have finally found the courage to speak, maybe it's because Nigerians are tired of the cult-like silence that protects failure. Calling critics “inconsequential” doesn’t erase their roles, and shouting “they shall all fail” won’t make failure disappear not from the crumbling streets of Lagos, nor from the skyrocketing inflation figures haunting every Nigerian home. Time Manager, you don’t kiss the truth, you bury it in blind loyalty. |

Politics › Ex-tinubu Campaign Coordinator Dumps APC For ADC by Ofunaofu(op): 2:42pm On Jul 14, 2025 |
A former Director of Media for the Muhammadu Buhari Campaign Organisation and National Coordinator of the Bola Ahmed Tinubu Movement, Aliyu Saulawa, has decamped to the African Democratic Congress (ADC) from the All Progressives Congress (APC). Naija News reports that Saulawa was among the high-profile defectors who recently defected from the ruling party to the opposition camp ahead of the 2027 general elections. Addressing journalists in Katsina on Sunday, Saulawa didn’t mince words in expressing his disappointment with the APC, saying the ruling party had failed woefully in delivering on its campaign promises, especially in Northern Nigeria. “The APC has not fulfilled even one per cent of its campaign promises,” he declared. “Without security, there is no livelihood. In the Northwest, we rely on farming and trade, and with the worsening insecurity, everything, including education, has collapsed. I cannot continue with the APC.” According to reports, hundreds of members of the APC and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), and the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) officially defected to the ADC on Sunday in Katsina. The politicians cited the worsening insecurity, economic hardship, and failed promises as the reasons for their defection. Naija News understands that the mass defection, led by prominent political figure Dr Mustapha Inuwa, took place during the formal inauguration of the ADC Katsina State chapter held at the Continental Event Centre in Katsina city. Defectors from all 34 Local Government Areas of the state, including men and women from diverse backgrounds, were welcomed with membership cards, as party leaders hailed the development as a sign of rising discontent with the status quo. Speaking at the event, the state representative of the National Political Coalition Group, Lawal Batagarawa, lamented the country’s deteriorating economic and security conditions. “Insecurity, inflation, and poverty have reached alarming levels. The value of the Naira keeps falling. Multiple industries have collapsed since the Tinubu administration took office in 2023,” he said. Batagarawa urged unity among citizens and supporters of the ADC, assuring that the party would offer a credible alternative capable of addressing Nigeria’s deepening crises. In his remark, Katsina State ADC Chairman, Usman Musa Wamba, exuded confidence that the party was well-positioned to make significant gains in the 2027 general elections. “With your continued support, especially from the youth, we will bring the true dividends of democracy to Katsina and Nigeria as a whole,” Wamba said. He encouraged more voters across the state to join the movement, promising transparency, inclusion, and competent leadership. Naija News reports that the party’s interim national chairman of the ADC, Senator David Mark, has recently warned of attempts to derail the ADC’s momentum through legal and political tactics. During a recent meeting with stakeholders in Abuja, Mark called on Nigerians to rally around the ADC as a patriotic alternative capable of charting a new course for the nation. He also praised the legal team for their enthusiasm and commitment, urging them to stay vigilant. https://www./2025/07/14/ex-tinubu-campaign-coordinator-dumps-apc-for-adc/?utm_source=operamini&utm_medium=feednews&utm_campaign=operamini_feednews#google_vignette |
