When Nasir El-Rufai first said Bola Ahmed Tinubu was on the verge of becoming Nigeria’s Paul Biya, many dismissed it as just another political gimmick.

But Tinubu has effectively ruled Lagos by proxy since 2007, refusing to let go or allow the state to breathe. Now, as president, with over 30 governors in the APC with the criminal state capture of both the judiciary and legislature, security agencies and INEC, he seems firmly on that same path.

PoliticsDon't Campaign For Tinubu Based On Religion -shiekh Mansur Tells Other Clerics by Ofunaofu(op): 9:02pm On Mar 22
A respected Islamic scholar, Mansur Ibrahim Sokoto, has warned clerics against promoting President Bola Tinubu based on religion, saying the Muslim-Muslim ticket has not delivered real benefits to Muslims or the northern region.

Speaking during his Eid sermon in Sokoto, the cleric criticised the current administration, nearly two years after the 2023 elections.

He argued that the same-faith ticket used during the election was mainly a political strategy to win power, not a genuine plan to improve the lives of Muslims.

“Tinubu won using the Muslim-Muslim ticket, but today Muslims are suffering,” he said, adding that there is little evidence the government is prioritising Muslim interests or addressing challenges in the North.

Mansur also claimed that the northern region, which strongly supported the ticket, has not seen enough development or policy focus. According to him, the president appears more focused on Lagos and broader political alliances rather than religious considerations.

He urged religious leaders to stop using faith as a tool for political mobilisation and instead focus on real performance. He challenged supporters of the president to point to clear achievements in areas like education, healthcare, agriculture, the economy, and electricity.

“If there is nothing to show, Nigerians should be free to consider other options,” he added.

His comments add to the growing debate around the role of religion in Nigeria’s politics, especially after the controversy that followed the Muslim-Muslim presidential ticket in 2023.

Richtaiwo:
Drop this half-baked pretence of intelligence. Do you honestly think you’re speaking to your fellow travellers? You expect me to write about Tinubu aspiration for re-election while conveniently ignoring Obi, who is equally in the race, what kind of warped reasoning is that?

If you have any substance, then present a convincing reason why I shouldn’t prefer Tinubu a thousand times over someone you’re struggling so hard to defend. And spare me this incoherent nonsense going forward, this sort of empty, disjointed argument is exactly why I have no hesitation blocking clueless noise when it becomes unbearable.
Richtaiwo, you say I should drop this Half-baked pretence of intelligence whereas you still can’t answer a direct question without reaching for a distraction. Wonderful!

You keep insisting I must defend Peter Obi before you can defend Bola Ahmed Tinubu. That’s not logic, that’s avoidance dressed up as confidence.

Listen, nobody is stopping you from preferring Tinubu , the problem is you can’t explain why without dragging in someone who isn’t in power. That alone says everything.

Let’s simplify it again since it keeps flying over your head: Tinubu is the incumbent. His policies are the ones driving today’s reality , rising inflation, deepening hardship, and worsening insecurity. That’s not theory, that’s lived experience.

So when asked to justify his re-election, your response is, Peter Obi and some imaginary headless mob. That’s not a defence, that’s an admission you don’t have one.

And the I’ll block you line? That’s not a flex. It’s what people like you say when the argument has left them behind and all they have left is the exit door.

Whenever you’re ready to actually defend Tinubu's record so far as president, without deflection, we can have a real conversation. Until then, all this noise is just confirmation that the substance you’re demanding from others is exactly what you’re unable to provide.
PoliticsRe: 2027: Rabiu Kwankwaso set to dump NNPP, defect to ADC - Politicsdigest by Ofunaofu: 4:36pm On Mar 22
Richtaiwo:
Yes, you had the audacity to tell me to spend my energy explaining why Tinubu deserves reelection. In the same breath, I advised you to focus your energies on justifying Obi’s presidential ambition, given his widely documented failures as a state governor.

So tell me, which part of that advice are you still mangling into nonsense? Is it really that difficult for you to explain why Obi should be elected, or are you simply incapable of putting together a coherent argument without resorting to empty noise?
You’re asking me to justify Peter Obi presidential ambition, are you for real, you mean I should defend Peter Obi, a man who isn’t even in power, while you bend over backwards to avoid defending Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the one currently holding the steering wheel of the country. That’s not an argument; that’s a diversion

Let’s keep it simple: Tinubu is the president. The buck stops with him, not with your hypotheticals about Obi’s past. Nigerians are living in the present reality of soaring inflation, a collapsing economy, and worsening insecurity, all under policies your Tinubu insist on calling “reforms” but feel more like punishment.

So no, leave Obi out of it for a second. Face the actual question without ducking:
Why should Nigerians re-elect Tinubu after policies that have clearly translated into deeper hardship, higher living costs, and growing uncertainty?

If the performance is as defensible as you claim, it shouldn’t require detours, whataboutism, or dragging in someone who isn’t even in office. Just defend Tinubu, your man, unless, of course, that’s the part that’s actually difficult.

Cheap tactics you say? Interesting, because asking you to defend Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s actual performance is now a ‘trick.’

I simply asked you to redirect the energy you spent perambulating about imaginary headless mob toward explaining why Tinubu should be reelected, given his woeful and spectacular failure in security, the economy, and virtually every metric used to measure government performance.

Instead, you pivot to Peter Obi. Predictable. Because defending reality is much harder than changing the subject
PoliticsRe: 2027: Rabiu Kwankwaso set to dump NNPP, defect to ADC - Politicsdigest by Ofunaofu: 3:21pm On Mar 22
Richtaiwo:
You are actively promoting Peter Obi. Why not devote even half of your effort in explaining, in clear and substantive terms, why he should be elected, particularly in the light of his poor performance during his eight years as a state governor?
The usual classic Peter Obi deflection

If defending Bola Ahmed Tinubu requires immediately changing the subject to Peter Obi, that already tells us everything about how well things are going.

But since you asked: the difference is simple. Criticism of Obi is hypothetical; criticism of Tinubu is based on current, lived reality.

Nigerians aren’t theorizing about governance, they’re experiencing record inflation, a battered naira, economy in shambles and worsening insecurity in real time.

Tinubu isn’t applying for the job, he’s already on the job. And right now, the report card isn’t just bad; it’s being written in the daily struggles of ordinary Nigerians.

So tell us, why should nigerians reward failure?

Just watch the headless mobs in action. The same empty-headed clowns who once argued that a governor’s defection was meaningless because he only has one vote will now claim that Kwankwaso’s planned defection guarantees victory for the ADC.

It’s astonishing how effortlessly they contradict themselves without a shred of self-awareness. One moment, political influence is irrelevant, the next, it becomes decisive, because it suits their narrative.
Richtaiwo, direct this energy toward explaining why Tinubu should be reelected, given his woeful and spectacular failure in security, the economy, and virtually every metric used to measure government performance.

You said Tinubu hasn’t spent massively on power, why? Tell us: how much has he actually spent so far? You can’t use “he hasn’t spent” as both a defense and an excuse at the same time.

And more importantly, why should Nigerians suddenly switch grading systems? He campaigned on constant electricity, not 'judge me by roads later.' You don’t promise light and then ask to be scored on roads.

Blaming past spending doesn’t answer present responsibility. If power was a priority in his promises, then power is exactly where he should be judged.

To those begging me to ignore FEMI FANI-KAYODE, my apologies, I can’t. I know Femi well. He is a bully. But I have plenty time for him. He calls a global brand, Ovation Media Group, defunct. Yet, as recently as February 11, 2026, he still begged me to help him publish on one of our platforms, The Boss newspapers, about the Educational achievements of his family. And I gladly obliged him, after which he sent “Thanks brother.

Very kind of you.” Is he already suffering from dementia?

As for Ovation International, he used our platform to celebrate the birthday of his son, for which we did not charge a kobo. This was what he wrote and sent to me: “Good morning my brother. May I send you videos and pictures of my sons birthday party which took place on 25th.

They are great shots and I would appreciate it if you could select a few for your usage…
Always and forever my brother. I am proud of you and I wish you well. Keep up the great work.”

What work or business does Femi do except scavenging for political appointments? With all his boastfulness about his silverspoon status, he has not attained a global brand except for the wrong reasons.
His estranged wife, Precious, reached out to me, to speak to Femi to grant her access to their children.

She regaled me with unprintable and horrendous tales of Femi’s inhumanity to her. I obliged and got Femi and her to reconcile, technically. Femi was so excited that he pestered me for progress on the matter, regularly, including asking me to speak to a female Senator: “I hope you managed to reach her my brother.” What more can I do to make Femi happy?..

I understand Femi’s strategy. He needs to remain in Tinubu’s good books just in case GERMANY falls through and he needs another appointment…

CrimeTwo Nigerians Bag 21yrs Jail Term For Drugging, Raping Teenage Schoolgirl In UK by Ofunaofu(op): 6:47pm On Mar 21
The victim’s friends tried to persuade her to leave with them as they felt uncomfortable but she started blacking out and collapsed, Inner London Crown Court heard.

Two Nigerian Nationals have been sentenced to a total of 21 years after raping a 15-year-old schoolgirl who was plied with alcohol and drugs, Daily Mail reports. Politics news Nigeria

It was reported that the convicts identified as Akinsanya, 34, and 29-year-old Raji targeted their victim after buying her drinks at Irish pub Paddy’s Yard in Brixton, south London, on February 8 last year.

They invited the girl and some of her friends back to Raji’s flat to smoke cannabis and dance.

The victim’s friends tried to persuade her to leave with them as they felt uncomfortable but she started blacking out and collapsed, Inner London Crown Court heard.

The defendants then put the girl through a prolonged ordeal, with Raji filming her.

Prosecutor Diana Wilson read the victim’s impact statement to the court, in which she said she now finds it ‘hard to trust people’.

The schoolgirl described her attackers as ‘disgusting’, while also rejecting the offer to watch the footage of what happened because it was ‘too stressful’.

Akinsanya, from South Croydon, denied but was convicted by a jury of rape and has now been jailed for 10 years.

Raji, from Brixton, denied but was convicted of two counts of rape and one of taking an indecent image of a child and was given 11 years behind bars.

The girl said in her statement: ‘I was in year 10 at school when I was raped – my school life was affected a lot. ‘I didn’t want to go to my lessons. I find it hard to trust people. I’m in year 11 now, I still feel like my school life is being affected by the rape.’

The court heard how she has stopped playing football, the only sport she liked, due to a loss of confidence following the attack.

She was asked to watch the video Raji took of her naked but had to stop, saying: ‘I found it too stressful.’

The victim added: ‘The men who did this to me are disgusting – I can’t find the words to describe them. These men must go to prison.’

Ms Wilson said the girl was ‘particularly vulnerable due to her personal circumstances’, adding: ‘She was young and naive and vulnerable and unconscious.

‘We have a sociable, outgoing 15-year-old who’s cut off from friends, cannot leave her house, impacting her schoolwork and feels unable to go to counselling.

‘It may be thought that that’s beyond the normal level of psychological harm.’

Ms Wilson told how both defendants took advantage of an unconscious girl’.

William Pope, defending Raji, asked for his previous good character to be taken into account.

The defence lawyer pointed to Raji’s evidence suggesting the girls the pair met said they were aged over 18, with Mr Pope adding: ‘He thinks he had a one-night stand.’

Judge David Richards said it should have been obvious the girls were underage from their behaviour, saying: ‘The whole tenor of that group is of schoolgirls’.

Defending Akinsanya, Anne Faul described him as ‘a lost soul, somewhat vulnerable’.

She also told the court he was partially paralysed from an attack, meaning prison life was more difficult for him.

Sentencing, Judge Richards said of the victim: ‘She’s lost her self-confidence. She can no longer go out. She will live with this for the rest of her life.’

He told the two culprits: ‘The fact that you two abused her one after the other clearly aggravates the matter. The victim was harmed for a long time.

‘Alcohol was used to render her vulnerable, the effect of the alcohol was exploited by both of you. Whilst incapable, she was raped by both of you.’

PoliticsHundreds Of Boko Haram, ISWAP Terrorists Hold Eid Prayer In Lake Chad by Ofunaofu(op): 6:22pm On Mar 21
BREAKING: Hundreds Of Boko Haram, ISWAP Terrorists Hold Eid Prayer In Lake Chad Region Of Borno After Maiduguri Bombings

Hundreds of Boko Haram fighters and the Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP) have been captured in a footage gathering in large numbers to observe Eid prayers in Borno State, brandishing assault rifles and other sophisticated weapons in a brazen show of force.

Eid, a major Islamic festival observed after the holy month of Ramadan, a period marked by fasting, prayer and spiritual reflection by Muslims worldwide, is traditionally a time of peace, charity and communal worship.

However, the emergence of heavily armed insurgents conducting such prayers in an open field underscores growing concerns over insecurity in Nigeria’s North-East.

In a series of multimedia clips released by propaganda platform AZ-ZALLAQA, on Saturday, a large number of terrorists were seen lined up in formation, observing prayers in congregation while clutching AK-47 rifles and other high-grade weapons.

The footage shows the insurgents occupying what appeared to be an Eid prayer ground in Borno, a state that has remained the epicentre of insurgency in Nigeria for over a decade.

The display has sparked outrage and fear among residents and security analysts, who say the development raises fresh questions about the operational strength of the terror groups and the effectiveness of ongoing military operations in the region.

Boko Haram and ISWAP have long terrorised communities across Borno and neighbouring states, carrying out deadly attacks, mass abductions, and displacing millions of civilians.

Despite repeated claims by the Nigerian government and military that the insurgents have been “technically defeated,” incidents like this continue to challenge that narrative.

The recent bombings in Maiduguri, the capital of Borno State occurred on the evening of March 16, and represent one of the deadliest attacks in the city in recent years.

Multiple explosions struck crowded civilian locations, including the entrance of the University of Maiduguri Teaching Hospital, the Monday Market, and a central post office.

The blasts happened during a busy period around sunset, when many residents were breaking their Ramadan fast or returning home, which contributed to the high number of casualties.

Casualty figures varied in the immediate aftermath, but reports indicate that at least 26 people were killed and over 100 others injured, with some later estimates placing the death toll even higher.

Hospitals in the city were overwhelmed as emergency responders rushed victims for treatment, and eyewitnesses described chaotic scenes with many wounded lying on the ground awaiting help.

The scale of the injuries and fatalities underscored the devastating impact of the coordinated attacks on civilians.

The nature of the attacks—believed to be carried out by suicide bombers targeting crowded public areas—fits the pattern of previous insurgent operations in the region.
