Politics › Re: Ezekwesili Never Said Buhari Didn’t Deserve To Be President …what She Said .PIX by ogawisdom(m): 9:03am On Aug 23, 2016 |
sarrki: FORMER Minister of Education, Dr Oby Ezekwesili, never said President Muhammadu Buhari did not deserve to be president.
Our sister publication, Sunday Tribune, had attributed the statement to be part of what she said over the plight of 2,000 immigration service recruits who slept at the entrance of Aso Villa from Friday till Saturday morning.
The statement was actually made by Aisha Yesufu in her reaction to the immigration issue.
Yesufu, a BringBackOurGirls (BBOG) campaigner, was miffed over the misrepresentation in the report, saying “I said if PMB says he doesn’t know youths are camped at his doorstep, then he is not capable of being president.”
On her Twitter handle, @aishayesufu, she said “so, why attribute my words to another person. These weren’t said while she was there, for you to say you mixed the speakers up.
“@Obyezeks I know is one who would never say such to media or anyone, but to the President himself if the need be.
“Never for once did Dr Oby Ezekwesili @obyezeks make such a statement. She talked about government’s need to talk to them.
“When did Dr Ezekwesili talk about the President not fit to be in office? When did I commend the last administration?
“Even when some of us forget and say Buhari, she would always ensure we respect the office and add President.
“I said no one can say PMB doesn’t know youths are camped at his doorstep. If he says he doesn’t know, then what does he know?
“I, Aisha Yesufu, did say several times and in different words that President Buhari was insensitive to the plight of the masses
“I, Aisha Yesufu, never commended Jonathan administration. I only said to redeem themselves, they had a transparent exercise.”
Ezekwesili, while addressing the recruits, had said “I am, therefore, appealing to the president to immediately ask the military as well as the Nigerian Immigration Service to do what is right, give justice to all these young men and women who, on the basis of merit, were appointed into positions in the NIS.
“I want to say that if justice is not given to them immediately, I certainly will join them in sitting here everyday until they get their justice. Justice is to be able to come to table with them.
“Whatever the challenges are, let it be known, but don’t let anything be done in secrecy, and let nothing be done with such opaqueness. These young people are the present of Nigeria, not just the future of Nigeria. If we don’t treat our young right, we are laying ourselves up for what we already have troubling us in the country.
“So, I join my voice with them and I appeal to the President whom they have come to see to immediately do something about their cause. And I also use this opportunity to speak to the Federal Government, there have been too many instances of allegations of illegal recruitment into the public service.
“If our public service is dysfunctional and you are worsening it by recruiting people through the back doors, people who don’t have the talent, skills, competence, capacity, character to be able to give us good service in public service, then, we certainly have no plans to be better than we are.
“So, we should just from henceforth desist from doing this. And usually, when these illegal recruitments are done, we sacrifice the best for the worst among us. Usually, when these illegal recruitments are done, what ends up happening is that the children of the poorer segment of our society who struggle to get through their education are left behind, then, that is the basis of worsening inequality.
“We cannot afford this and an unequal society is a society laying itself up for implosion and God forbid that would be the case with our nation. I want to just applaud all of you for coming out and standing, standing for your cause. I want to say that I would actually be speaking to a lawyer who will become your lawyer in this matter, so that, not just would you be on the streets, but you would have to get legal redress of your sitaution, because that’s very important.
“I also applaud the fact that you have been civil. Today is Saturday, I don’t know what your plan is, Saturday is not a work day. Sunday is also not a work day. So people might say they are not at work, that’s why they are not able to speak to you. Maybe what we would do is have a discussion among yourselves and perhaps resume your sit-out by wherever you chose to do that, by the first day of the week. Then whatever you want to say to the President, I think you should give the opportunity for all your members to speak to the President. He’s the one you came to see.”
The Tribune Newspapers hereby tender unreserved apology to Dr Ezekwesili, Aisha Yesufu and the Presidency for the misrepresentation.

Car Talk › Re: Plate Number Theives: Check Your Plate Number Now by ogawisdom(m): 8:36am On Aug 23, 2016 |
MrDonfranko: I drove into one of the police station to obtain the new tinted glass permit, in the process, it was discovered that the plate number of my car is being used by another car. My first question is "How is it possible?" Because I obtained this number from FRSC with all documents intact. I never know the car is going to stay for 12 days in the station.
A file was quickly open and the car became an exhibit. Thank God the car was registered by a very high ranking officer of the FRSC whom was brought to the station. As the investigation was going on, it was discovered that some people were producing these fake and duplicate number plates and giving out to innocent and unsuspicious Nigerian ripping them off their hard earned money.
My question is, should we now go and buy this numbers at a shop in Alaba or at idumota instead of the federal government approved agencies? In the course of my research, I stumbled upon the number plate verification system online. I started verifying cars of friends, church members and even cars that I see on the road. A shocking revelation was made that OUT OF EVERY 10 CARS you see on the road with LAGOS and ABUJA number plates, that at least 4 is FAKE.
You can check your own now. (1) Go to www.nvisng.org/numberplateverification.aspx (2) Enter your number in the space provided. Eg "ABC863AP (3) Click on verify button. Then an information will be displayed below the button. Because FRSC did not want the general public to see the full details of the registration, you will only see the name of your car and the date of registration.
Here are some samples: 1. This number plate has been produced by FRSC and assigned to Toyota highlander on 20/01/2015. If your car is Toyota highlander, then you are lucky its done. But if your car is for instance Toyota Camry and your verification shows the above message, then you are in as me. Solution is to go and re-register your car afresh.
2. This number plate has been produced by FRSC and assigned to Matrix however the vehicle is yet to be registered..... If your car is Matrix, then just go back to the person that registered your car and tell him/her to complete your registration.
3. This plate number has been produced by FRSC but yet to be assign to any vehicle. It means that they just gave you a number plate that is not even registered in their system. Solution is to go to them to register your car and upload your information.
4. An invalid/wrong number plate. Do I need to explain this, NO. Verify your car first and sort yourself out with the FRSC before you even proceed to police for tinted permit cos if police are the one to find out, then you know what follows. Many innocent Nigerian are suffering now because of impunity in our institutions Note: this verification is only applicable to the number plates with this formats ABC123AB not AB123 ABC. What of those still using old plate number |

CHIMCO: My neighbours wife put to bed. I am making arrangement on how to pay vist to the child with gifts. My wife also put to bed early this year and Surprisenly, i was at work when my wife called me and informed me that this very neigbour came to visit our child with tubers of yam and diaper(my babe). I was surprised because i wasnt expecting anything from them and i know that they are poor sharing one room. I thanked them. Now they had a new babe and i am planning to pay a visit. My wife asked me what i intend to buy, i told her i want to buy the following: 1 SMA gold 2. Diaper(pampers) 3 detergent(zip big size) and bottles of eve water big sizes. My wife opposed to the above and insist on the following: 1 that it is her sole responsibility to buy things for them, that i should give her the money.( i know she will not buy what i want) 2 she said they uses NAN babe formular and WOW detergent. That i should give them what they use. But the above things i mentioned was what i normally use for my children and i can afford it for them. We are having serious issues on the above now. My wife threatens to size the items and use it on our children if i buy the ones our children uses. She even alleaged that i have eyes on her on mere alleagation that she talks and laughs with me whenever she is not around and thats the reason i want to buy what our children uses for them. ceaser: 23 ke? The mean age at grad for med students in most Nigerian public universities is 25 and that's for those lucky not to have interrupted semesters from strikes and all. While other disciplines are affected by just a few types of industrial strikes, med students may be affected by three or more in addition to ASUU, NASU or SSANU namely: SSATHURAI (Teaching hospitals health workers), MAWHUN (allied health workers), NANNM (Nurses), NARD, MDCAN. Story have u not heard abt private uni b4 most students of medicine in them r admitted 16/17 some even 15 n they graduate 23/24 |

seighapaul: We (Nigerians) are the cause of our own problems. I honestly believe that if we all abide by the principles and ideology of MMM, this program will last longer than forecasted.
The latest "un-healthy" trend in MMM is the "Chaotic Referral 10% Rush". Where participants send out spam sms, bulk emails and throw out their referral link on every forum site they can find. I know some will say that's the purpose of the referral program. Personally, I feel this referral hustle will just flood the system (MMM) with unserious and ill informed participants, who just derive joy in clicking the "Provide Help" green button in their private back office. More than 70% of this class of ill informed participants will end up not have the guts to finally pay their beneficiaries when the time comes. Am a living example, 6 days after being paired to receive payment of N100,000, am yet to get an alert...all because of cold feet or one excuse or the other from the sender. I called the first sender and he complained the money he was expecting didn't materialize, 48hrs later, the next sender didn't even know how the program works, another 48hrs later, the current guy doesn't speak English and has no clue how he got enrolled in the program. Even their Guider's have no clue on how these guys got enrolled in the program.
So you can see how this will affect the smooth running of the program. As long as participants keep this "Chaotic Referral 10% Rush", the program will frequently experience un-healthy delays in payments. I am experiencing same delay with get help, am yet to b matched 5 days after asking for help. Has provide help nosedived or there r so many fake provide helps as u pointed out. By d way ve u gotten help so far, when did u do dt. There shld ve been a forum on mmm Nigeria website for participants to discuss issues at least. D scheme is good but may nt survive several Nigerian factors. Alot of kids, unserious ppl and scammers have registered on mmm but will never fulfill their provide help so I suggest any person upto 3weeks on d site and ve never provided help shld b banned/blocked for life. D real participants r those dt ve provided help D latest is dt scammers have developed similar sites with same concept as mmm to scan Nigerians plaguing to give 50% in 15days, 80% in 7day |

Unattractive ? Pay wise
Well compared to other Fg jobs I think their pay is not bad. A doctor on housemanship in a teaching hospital usually little boys/girls 23/24yrs earn b/w 185 to 200k Monthly so dts doctors minimum pay so hw is dt unattractive. A fresh lecturer 2 with PhD teaching history or whatever in Fed uni earn far less at abt 130k. Not many Fg entry level jobs can pay up to 185k |

Jobs/Vacancies › Re: Should I Pay Him N500,000 For A Job? by ogawisdom(m): 9:46am On Aug 19, 2016 |
judeibro: I graduated since 2012 and have been searching for job since then. Though I stopped the search and I am gathering money from a small laundry business I am running to see if I could raise enough money to register to be a bet agent and start a bet shop this new football season, together with MMM hustle. On thursday last week precisely, I ran into an old course mate of mine who is now a customs officer, he was even on his uniform. I was surprised and inquired how he got into Nigeria customs knowing how difficult it is getting in there. He gave me detailed gist about an Hausa man who happens to be a top customs officer, he met three years ago in his business center, helped him got the job. We exchanged contact and he promised to contact the man to see if he could assist me to get one of the replacement slots.
The issue now is that he introduced me to the man as promised and I got to contact the man and he gave me his official email account and instructed I send my CV and photocopies of my credentials to him via email, which I did. Today he called me to tell me, he has 4 slots for replacement scheduled for October, (that some officers who are due for retirement will be leaving by the end of september) that I should pay him N500,000 (five hundred thousand naira),N50,000 (fifty thousand Naira) down payment and N450,000 when I get my appointment letter and start work. I contacted my friend and he told me I shouldn't worry, that he will loan me the N50,000 to pay him, but I should hustle the remind balance to pay him immediately I land the job.
My friend has sent the N50,000 into my account today to my greatest surprise, but I don't know where to get the balance N450,000 b4 the end of september and I don't want to go back to my friend that just assisted me with N50,000. I need advice if it is advisable to take a loan for such venture and where can one get such loan. Pls your opinion please, because I am kind of confused here. I need a job badly. No risk no gain, I have a feeling ur frnd and d Hausa man is abt to scam u. Tell d Hausa man dt u will pay d balance frm ur monthly salary. If he refuses then run for ur life Dt 50k given to u by ur frnd is d bait they will use to catch u |
