How do they intend to get 2/3 of the state assemblies to pass a constitution the president and 1st term governors are opposed to.

When GEJ proposed a single term in 2011, it was for him to spend a single term of 6 years.

What the senate are now proposing, if started in 2015, will mean GEJ will be spending a single term of 4 yrs.

The implication is that this amendment is simply aimed at stopping the 2nd term bid of GEJ and will be resisted because it infringes on the rights of the president.

What do you think the debate that will come from a buhari ticket will be?
It will be his support for terrorists, His lack of ideas, his preference for the north over the whole nation, His religion. These are not issues that should dominate the decision on how to choose a president but certainly those are the issues that will be the front burner in a buhari candidature.

APC should source for a successful young business man early who has great ideas, throw all their weight behind him and proffer good alternatives to the programs of the ruling party if they hope to go anywhere.

There are 170 million Nigerians to choose from, they should not limit themselves to Buhari or Fashola, the strength of buhari or Fashola also comes with excess baggage that will make several people to oppose them.

My wish for APC
Any successful business man,educated and very upright man,
that way the issues that unite us canbe the main discus during the campaigns.things like job creation, health care, security and general welfare of the populace can be made the main issue to be discussed.

Fielding people like buhari or fashola will only help to highlight issues that divide us. Things like tribe, religion, region and party will certainly be the overwhelming factors of discussion with someone as buhari as a candidate.

What APC need to do is select their candidate early say in late 2013 or early 2014 and let the masses get to know his views on national issues. And impress on the people that the man was chosen because of his qualities rather that tribe, religion or region.

Abia is one of the high cocoa producers in Nigeria. Cocoa has always been an agric produce in Ikwuano, Bende and parts of Umuahia. My g/father and many of his peers had large cocoa farms.

the key word is comparative advantage. Most states can grow all types of crops grown in Nigeria, but some crops does better in some areas than others.

Groundnut can be grown in all states of the country, how many groundnut pyramids did you see in port Harcourt or calabar?

Oil palm can grow in most south and middle belt states but oilpalm was associated with the eastern region because the eastern acidic soils is better for it.

I grew up seeing cocoa farms in my village in the Niger delta, but will not go out today to develop a cocoa farm there, going to the west for that same farm will give me higher yields per hectare for the same effort.

when you say high cocoa produce, you need to compared it to other states in terms of yield per hectare before you can conclude that it is high

How to connect the batteries depends on the input voltage of the inverter, for a 12v inverter you will need to connect all the batteries in series to ensure that only 12 volts is supplied to the inverter.

For a 180 volt inverter, you will need to connect all the 15 batteries in parallel to give a voltage of 180 volts at the end of the battery bank.

Deep cycle batteries are just like normal lead acid batteries used in cars, the difference between it and normal batteries is that deep cycle batteries are designed to withstand drawdown of 50 to 80 percent of it's charge before charging the batteries without the batteries being damaged. Normal batteries are only designed to give very high current for a short time and then charged.

On the issue of the better inverter, it depends on what you intend to do with it. Solar inverters are normally matched to the capacity of the solar panels it will be connected to. So generally solar inverters tends to be of lower charging capacity than those that are designed to be connected to the mains.

Personally I don't recommend changing with the inverter if you intend to be using a lot of power. Better to get a dedicated battery charger for charging the batteries. You routinely see inverters with 50amps charging capacity. That is the equivalent of charging at 600 watts. If you intend to use 3000 watts load that means you have to charge for 5 hours to be able to get enough power in the batteries to last for 1hour.

With respect to the type of inverter to buy, I still believe your problem is with the batteries not the inverter.

The inverter carries the load just that there not enough power stored in the batteries. The batteries charges fast and also drains fast because the batteries are already bad.
Note that even deep cycle batteries are designed to last about 3 years with good management. Poor management like discharging them too deep or leaving them in the discharged state or overcharging them can reduce their lifespan considerably.

If you have the money buy inverters with pure sine wave output, they are more expensive than the common modified sine inverters, but their output is just like the public power supply and works best with all appliances.

With modified sine wave inverters you lose about 20 percent of the efficiency of electric motors present in fans, acc and the like. In many cases solar inverters are pure sine wave inverters, you need to check though before buying

Okija juju: I have backed it up with a 15kva inverter.. Only problem is I bought the inverter second hand from a family friend who was relocating abroad.. The darn thing does not even last. Can't carry a single 1.5 horsepower AC and a single fridge for up to 1:30 mins before it runs flat. Now my next mission is to save up, sell this one off and replace it with a brand new solar powered 20kva inverter.. That should solidly cover all my electricity problem. Although I must confess sha, NEPA for my area dey para of late.. From 6pm in the evening till 10am in the morning, you barely suffer up to 3hrs of no light cumulative.

sorry to hear that your inverter charge does not last long. from the little you have said, your inverter is ok just that the batteries are going bad. you need to change the batteries, remember to buy deep cycle batteries and do not allow them batteries to be flat before charging them, that's the quickest way a destroying even the best battery in the market.

When am relocating back to Nigeria, am coming armed with adequate solar panels and inverters to power a small estate, never going into generator business again.

Save money and purchase a big diesel generator.. They last longer than fuel generators and require less servicing.

You said primitive? You can only compare delta state with the most educated states in Nigeria in terms of education. There are many states that believe that western education is sin, they have not gone under yet.
Lastly you are talking of bad govrs, who has a good govr in Nigeria? Stop hating Niger delta govrs, they are no worse than the average Nigerian governor. While the fg was sleeping it was the policy of Ibori's government that brought peace to warri when war was raging between 1995 and 1999

Warri fell because of several factors. The near constant attrition between the 3 major tribes was the most important factor. Remember a city divided against itself can not stand.

The second most important factor was the deliberate push of the federal government at a particular time to get the tribes to fight themselves. The fg Creating a local government and moving the head quarters back and forth between 2 opposing tribes was designed to cause war between the tribes and it worked greatly. They claim the divisive policy was to ensure the tribes do not come together and ask for resource control.

The 3rd reason while warri fell was the availability of competition. Port Harcourt took the oil companies while lagos took the trade opportunities. Federal companies in warri was made into a bed nest of corruption at a scale higher than what entails in other cities. The result was that it became cheaper for example to import through the lagos port and truck the goods to warri than to import through the warri port.

So warri fell because the people were divided, the federal government capitalized on that division to further divide them, war ensued and companies fled
