PoliticsRe: EXCLUSIVE: Jonathan Violates Nigerian Laws, Corners N3billion by ogb5(m): 4:04pm On Jun 30, 2013
bloggernaija: Spending inappropriated money is tantamount to steeling and it is an impeachable offense.
The bahaviour of the president is exactly why the country is in such a mess.
Of what value or priority is otuoke in bayelsa when even the oil to the government stake a claim is not derived from there.there are poorer and more remote places in bayelsa which would have benefitted more from this. this clannish and tribalistic behaviour is the exact reason why the country is in such a mess.
Obj never exhibited such behaviour while he was president. He treated/mistreated everybody the same way.
While using his position as president to funnel cash to otuoke/bayelsa, his minions are busy looting the state dry. Bayelsa is one of the state in Nigeria receiving enough money to build a world class infrastructure and society.
You need to read through the write up and understand that the aim is just to find faults.
A project approved by the Federal executive council can not be regarded as a project not approved.

A 12 months project inaugurated August 2011 and completed 22 months later can't be said to be a rushed project.

Local governments up north have federal presence littering every where. It is only in the South you have to start searching for federal projects.
PoliticsRe: EXCLUSIVE: Jonathan Violates Nigerian Laws, Corners N3billion by ogb5(m): 3:39pm On Jun 30, 2013
When Augustus Aikhomu, former vice president to Ibb cornered a 200 bed hospital to Uromi in the late 80's, I was one of those that complained as to why the vp will use federal funds to establish a hospital in his hometown.

That hospital was later attached to Ambrose Alli University as a teaching hospital, and thousands of Nigerians have benefited from the citing of that hospital.

Aikhomu could have diverted the 200million naira used in building the hospital to a swiss account, like other politicians do and the benefits of the current hospital would have been lost.

Am of the opinion that I federal medical Centre in yenegoa is not enough to service over 2 million people living in Bayelsa state.

Let's criticise objectively.

7thCANON: Akwa Ibom has never been educationally disadvantaged. May be is Cross River you meant
I Meant Cross river, thanks for the correction, still Interchanges both states as they were previously one state.
PoliticsRe: Jonathan Using A Light Microscope At Federal University Otuoke by ogb5(m): 5:32pm On Jun 29, 2013
Once a scientist always a scientist.
Gej should remember that his home state of beyelsa is still listed a an educationally disadvantaged state.

Only beyelsa and akwa ibom is on that list in the South and akwa ibom is fast leaving bayelsa behind.

He should do all to promote Education in his home state.
PoliticsRe: The Crimes Of Buhari - Wole Soyinka by ogb5(m): 9:27pm On Jun 27, 2013
Soyinka has spoken, Will the falcon hear the falconer.

Will people like Tinubu stop using their political clout to promote Buhari the coup plotter and tyrant.

Children who were born yesterday will say Buhari is their savior, a man who only ruled by the instruments of fear.
PoliticsRe: The Poor North: How The Northern Governors Starve The Region - And Its People by ogb5(m): 8:43pm On Jun 27, 2013
Suhaibu: The whole country is in a state of poverty. This is not to say you can simply point to the elites in Bayelsa and say, "hey, your inaction is the cause of your poverty."

You can't cheaply do that because the youths/elites are dominated by their leaders... That's the case in the north.

The argument of the article is that rulers in the north are careless of the region that's why it's a dead zone.
There are several things you need to be aware of.
1st, by all standards, Nigeria is a poor country. The National budget of 30 billion dollars if shared equally among the 170 million Nigerians will only give each person half a dollar per day.

2nd, even though Nigeria is a poor country, the North is poorer than the south, that was the very reason for the Amalgamation of the North and south in 1914. It is for the South to bankroll the North. So forget that your saying that there was a time when Northern fund was used to develop the country before the advent of oil.

3rd, All Nigeria politicians are very selfish, their personal needs comes first before that of the masses, Whether a governor in Lagos or a governor in Sokoto, they are all the same.

4th, the wealth difference between the south and north is largely dependent on the behavior of the masses in these 2 regions, While does in the South will largely take their destiny in their hands and try to make their life better, those in the north largely believe in destiny and many that are poor believe they are destined to be poor, this leads to lack of personal drive.

lastly, the Northern leaders are witches big time. worse witches than many devilish leaders in the south, The southern leaders at least build schools to educate their people, but the northern leaders does not really care about educating their people and without education, only a miracle will lift someone for a poor family out of poverty.

so if you want to help your people give them education, as someone who has graduated from a higher institution and has seen what obtains in other areas, organize extra mural classes in your community to prepare children for WEAC and JAMB exams, encourage your family members to seek education and support them in your little way.
PoliticsRe: Amaechi, Jang, Others Attend Jonathan’s Dinner by ogb5(m): 10:30am On Jun 27, 2013
No politician has fought the president and came out unscathed, even as powerful as atiku was , Obj was still able to send him to oblivion.

Will an Ikwerre governor succeed against the president in ensuring that another aboki becomes the president in 2015?

If GEJ losses the next election, Amaechi will have to relocate quickly out of the Niger Delta.

I could not play pranks, who do I want to play pranks on?

One funny played by my friend was that he told his semi-literate father that the amoeba we were using for experiment in the lab jumped through the window and ran into the bush. And that the school said we should pay for it. The dad had to send the money quickly

TravelRe: FG To Impose £20,000 Visa-Bond On UK Visitors by ogb5(m): 2:35pm On Jun 25, 2013
Gbawe: I hope it is not because on display again from this Mrs.Dabiri-Erewa is the pugnacious ignorance many of our politicians work with. This is why they are found wanting serving the interest of Nigerians . The woman is garrulously misinformed with her chest-beating talk below because the Visa bond is for visitors i.e those not allowed to work while in the UK anyway. She should know "visitors" cover those who are meant to visit the UK and return within the stipulated time on their visa. I don't quite know why she is now ranting about the health sector of the UK collapsing.
She is talking about the health sector collapsing because she wants the british to appreciate the contributions of Nigeria professionals to the progress of the british society. Obviously thats not too much to ask for.

If we allow the british to discriminate against us, what will stop the Americans, French, Canadians and all others from disciminating against us.

If the british try it, infact they should put a landing fee of 1 million naira per persenger that flies a british plane into Nigeria, Let BA stop their daily flights to Nigeria
PoliticsRe: Shehu Borno Blames Insurgency On Marginalization by ogb5(m): 8:39am On Jun 25, 2013
He means 10 to 20 trailer loads of children are dumped on maiduguri street daily with no where to go and no one cares about them and the shehu still think the problem is marginalisation.

The northerners need to be forced into being responsible parents.

Any culture that promotes such abuse of children in this day and age needs to be done away with

But this a good one. The speaker must be really shocked and wondering what hit him.
CrimeRe: Update On Lautech Ritual Killing by ogb5(m): 7:23am On Jun 23, 2013
This does not confirm that the bf is the killer.

A lady's clothes can be in the bf's house without any issue being attached to it. Only if it turns out that the last clothes the lady wore was what was seen in the boy's house, then you can accuse him of being involved in the killing.

As for calabash being seen in the boy's house, it doesn't prove anything.
Just that Nigeria police will beat that boy blue until he confesses that he killed the girl and admit also that he is responsible for killing Abacha.

PoliticsRe: Six-year Single Term For Presidents, Govs by ogb5(m): 6:07am On Jun 22, 2013
With 6 yrs single term and 2 party system, pdp and apc. Nigeria will be swinging between both parties every few years.

That will have several benefits
politicians can settle down and work without the distraction of second term politics.

The role of godfathers will be minimized as office holders can call their bluff knowing they will not be needing support from the godfathers for a second term bid.

It will make politics saner. Fewer people will want to spend billions on sponsoring a candidate who can easily defy them on assuming office.

The 6yr single term is a good move. The other alternative will be to give the right to 1st refusal to the office holder to get them immune from the distraction of second term politics
PoliticsRe: Supreme Court Dismisses Ogboru’s Appeal ***Upholds Uduaghan As Delta Governor by ogb5(m): 2:36pm On Jun 21, 2013
Ogboru, the Buhari of Delta politics. He should take the case to the Ecowas court, from there he should take it to the ICC at the Hague. He will still fail at both courts.

Idiot, instead of re-activating his companies that got destroyed during the Okhar coup saga, he is looking for Delta state money to arrange himself.
Good move by David. And if they refuse, they should impose international sanction on Nigeria, deport all the politician children studying over there and stop buying our oil. Nobody would need to tell them to overturn that silly law.

How can you jail somebody for 14yrs because of his or her sexual orientation? But our corrupt officials looting our treasury get 2yrs in jail with option of fine? Ediots
Gays and lesbies should go and hang. They will not be missed
PoliticsRe: British PM To Persuade Jonathan To Give Equal Rights To Gay/lesbians by ogb5(m): 9:06pm On Jun 20, 2013
We have many issues the british pm can discuss with our leaders.

He can start by discussing reparation for the hundreds of years of slavery we were subjected to.
Then were can later discuss our wealth they stole in the name of colonial rule.

We have 170million people in Nigeria,we can easily get an opposite gender to marry. Same-sex marriage discussion is dead on arrival

Instead of resigning and look for better paying job, they will be scheming daily on how to defraud their employer
PoliticsRe: If You Are From Bayelsa State.... by ogb5(m): 1:25pm On Jun 17, 2013
ba7man: Dude, you don't seem to get it. When asked for evidence of different States eg. Edo, Lagos, Ogun, Oyo, Akwa-Ibom, Enugu, Rivers etc.....No matter how these States were "bashed", they was still some evidence that work was in progress......But we have nothing on Bayelsa State, one of the States with the largest population/allocation ratio....Of course, people are bound to get curious.
If you want to know what is happening in Bayelsa and you see nothing in the news, why not take a trip to the creeks in bayelsa and see things for yourself.

IT is not the governor who pays the most praise singers that is actually the best governor. Do you know the number of best governor award Odili got while he was governor of rivers state? where are the structures odili left in Rivers state today?

Beyelsa is developing at their pace, If you can develop your state a a faster pace, good for you.

We will all be happy if we see the Yoruba man turning his cocoa into chocolate and exporting premium chocolate to the whole world.
Likewise if the Hausa man is able to keep his cows in a ranch, can his beef and sell Corned beef globally we will be happy for him.

So go to your state and prevent your state governors from looting your treasury instead of trying to prescribe medicine for others that you have not been able to take to cure the corruption going on in your state.

this thread is about bashing the people of bayelsa state as if your state is better.
Idiots like you will not remove the big scales covering your eyes before wanting to prove you know the problems facing others.

If you are so proud of the achievement of your governor why not say what your stupid governor has done, let's tell you what he has failed to do with free money he collects monthly that has made you lazy and unable to reason on how to contribute to the federation.

Which state are you from? How have your state leaders fared with the free ND money they collect from Abuja monthly?

Go and learn bronze making. Benin is the centre of bronze art in Nigeria.

Take that to Malaysiaand sell instead of selling your kidneys.

If oshomole was a pdp governor, GEJ would have taken tons of insult over this
PoliticsRe: Jonathan Can't Dictate To Us! 6yrs Tenure Must Start In 2015 ––senate Dares Pres by ogb5(m): 4:12pm On Jun 15, 2013
BabaAlabi: I don`t support this six years tenure of a thing...it is just unnecessary.
If started the 6 yrs tenure will be very good for the nation. Lobbying to get votes during elections seriously compromises the elected officials since they are made to give many promises that negates the norms of public service before they are supported by the powers that be.

Anyone that is elected for a single term of 6yrs can settle down and do his job efficiently knowing that he will not be begging power brokers for a 2nd term support.

Also rotation of power between individuals will be faster thereby making power more transient. This will limit the culture of impunity among elected officials.
PoliticsRe: Jonathan Can't Dictate To Us! 6yrs Tenure Must Start In 2015 ––senate Dares Pres by ogb5(m): 3:59pm On Jun 15, 2013
kunlekunle: the ammendment clealy stated that incumbents cant benefit from the change.
that is if the tenure was changed during GEJ's term, he would serve just 4 yrs and not 6 yrs.
The aim to make GEJ spend only 4 yrs is the reason behind the planned amendment and it will not pass.
We spend a lot of money on our leaders as a nation, both the executive and the legislature, we do not spend that money so that the can fight themselves and bring about schemes that cause them to argue among themselves instead of serving the country.

The amendment will not pass through 2/3 of the states in the federation. You can bank on that.
A fair amendment will pass, but amendment targeting individuals will fail
