trillville: What I find really disturbing about this borrowing of money and going all the way to china for cheap loans is the fact that Nigeria made over 100 billion dollars last year from the sale of crude oil alone( according to david cameron).I don't want to hold brief for the fg, but you should be wary of data people spew to belittle your government. Even if Nigeria export 2 million barrels of oil a day and sell at an average of 100dollars a barrel, the country will not make 100 billion dollars. Do the maths yourself. And we don't export all oil produced and all revenue from the sales of oil does not go to the government, there are joint venture partners who produce the oil that also take their share. But am with you on the loan issue, we should not be taking loans to build airport terminals, private companies can build those terminals with the right agreement. There is also the issue of resource curse afflicting the nation, because of oil every one has gone to sleep, so at the end of the day what ever we get from oil will never be enough to cater for everyone |
It is very surprising the kind of negative comments now common on NL. People do not look at the economic benefit of the moves of the fg before just criticizing. The fg is in need of investors that will invest in the country, generate revenue and employment for the citizens of this country. Let's support them instead of baseless criticisms. Ajaokuta steel has been moribund for the last 30 yrs with billions sunk into it. If the Chinese can resuscitate the plant, thousands of people will be employed there. There is already high unemployment rate in the country and if nothing is done about it, the country will burn someday over it. The government knows this hence the drive to get investors. What have we really gained from the plant all these yrs that we will be losing by giving to the Chinese, at worst it will be dormant just the way it has been in last 30 yrs, at best the plant will come alive and employ some people and add to the economy. Let's all criticise objectively and with patriotism |
checks out of thread, too many ignorant people who will not just listen and learn |
a little of these we were able to force Boko haram to start begging for peace. That's all that matter now. We are not planning to invade the US so why spend so much money on modern day war machines when a lot of people are jobless and civil infrastructures are in shambles. Fix the economy first, military hardware can come later |
Was it Jonathan that asked Lloyd, a pro Amaechi law I wonder what lie lie Mohammed parents were thinking when they named him lie lie at birth |
kpogede77: Note that the population of Itsekiri people is over 1.2 million which is more than the population of Taliban in Afghanistan1.2 million mangroove trees you mean. If you like, mess twith the Ijaw people, you will become refugee for the 2nd time. Itsekiri people should learn from the troubles they went through in the hands of the Ijaws in the 90's and make peace with their neighbours. |
Maybe all her 4 children are girls She was hoping for a boy, but alas the last one still turned out to be a girl. Just my thoughts I have seen even well to do people being depressed over the sex of a child they have. |
obowunmi: This guy in white was the one trying to break someone's skull. Why is he laying on the bed? What exactly is this wicked man tired from? The guy needs the drip to recover the energy used in swinging the mace around and cracking the skulls of his colleagues. Hope he runs into a sharp doctor who can put something nice in that drip to but him into a long sleep BTW, someone need to change the title of this thread. Its helping to spread lies |
oddy4real: Hon Chidi Llyod Can lie!!!he was caught in the act this time, just because the video came out we can judge for ourselves what transpired. Imagine if there were no videos of the incident, everyone would have been calling Llyod the victim, not knowing he is the aggressor. Bunch of idiots |
visalo: Nigeria is full of dramatic people. Thesame Chidi who was seen on the video planking people up and down is now pretendiing sleeping on the hospital bed crying fowl where there is none. Infact police should go there and arrest him. He attempted to commit suicide See as vex dey make you yarn opata. De guy won commit suicide or the guy almost murder people |
Why dem dey plank that guy like say na thief. Aluu thugs don reach their house of assembly |
I was thinking INEC will announce it somehow, what if INEC later say something different, who do we believe? |
danny301: And which one is lawful? The leader of pro-GEJ group slapping the speaker or the president's wife moving round in River state in broad-day light causing problem or the President himself supporting Jang the loser of NGF election against the winner? I feel, the word "lawfulness" is alien to the whole brouhaha.Bros do you know why he slapped him? Maybe they have disagreement over the sharing of some loot, just enjoy the show of shame and do't support anyone. Believe me, non of them is fighting because he wants to serve you and me better |
ckkris: Is the new Sfeaker Hon Bipi the former PA to Amechi's wife. Blackmail,Betrayal.comBros forget betrayal, We are good at it. Amaechi was PA to Odili for years before they hit jackpot. Today they are parallel lines |
sharubutu: Unlawful for the governor to do what? So many of you on this forum are clowns. Can you explain further the reason for your position. Is the governor the custodian of the Mace of the house? no insults o, I just want to know |
mbulela: I knew this will descend into physical combat. The dram was not going to plan according to the script of the Abuja team. At some point they had to get frustrated and impatient and force the matter. We are dealing with thugs on both sides so this was expected.GEJ has been lenient, you forgot that Alams impeachment sitting was done in Lagos ![]() Ofcourse the new speaker will be the recognised speaker at the FG level, that's why Amaechi quickly kolobi the mace Though its not yet uhuru, the other camp may come up with another mace tomorrow, how will you know the authentic mace |
howfarwhatagwan: Ok which version are we supposed to believe now? Can we have the video if any? When we keep voting rascals into office this is what we will continue to get. Since democracy returned to Nigeria under every regime there is always a troubled governor of the year. I think Ameachi has won that title in this dispensation LOL.Only Amaechi used is hands to gather ant infested wood, even when Alams adviced him from experience that you don't fight govt, he did not believe. Experience is the best teacher they say, lets watch the movie as it unfolds, whoever wins, nothing for us anyway, so why bother |
mbulela: If you think Amaechi is a rascal, wait for Nyesom Wike. Amaechi is no saint, i wish he was less arrogant but Wike is a one chance bus. Rivers people are in for it. All those following Wike to pay homage at Aso Rock are simply in it for their bellies. The truth is that no one is thinking of the masses. All these career politicians. SMH.Amaechi sent Wike to Abuja to have some peace in PH, the guys heat was getting too much then, seems the strategy did not work |
deelobe: Can someone please tell me the difference between these guys and the area boys that have been fighting in Musings and Somolu. CharlattansThese ones are millionaires while the area boys are paupers |
What would we have said if Jonathan himself decide to invade the Senate chambers and collect the mace personally just to force a particular position? |
Bros, the police commissioner with truck load of armed thugs came with the 5 anti amaechi members to initiate a kangaroo seating in the house. How do you copy me?
Bros we copy you, but your report is different from what we are reading. Go through again and convince yourself of the following. The speaker summoned the meeting. After calling for the meeting, the speaker sensed trouble and sent message to the commisioner of police, the brigade commander and leader of the Joint Task Force to provide security to enable the house to sit. So the sitting was not a kangaroo sitting. The speaker summoned the police, just that the police did not take sides, they decided to be onlookers in the show of shame. The house have been on long recess due to the problems the governor is having and those ready for a showdown have been waiting for when the house will convene. They have gone on indefinite recess again after the fight, anytime there is another sitting, the fight will continue unless they resolve their problems before then. |
solomon111: The North is truely the hope of Nigeria.there will be great recession in nigeria if the north does not come to power in 2015. We want the north in power by all means. At least they can replicate the good things they are doing up North all over the country. Who does not like the good things up north in his backyard. World class schools Standand hospitals every where zero communicable diseases free flowing pipeborne water Constant power supply self less leaders No poverty Excellent standard of living Splendid religious tolerance High level of industrialisation. Zero unemployment Extremely high per capital income Please you peole to hurry up and come and rule us, can't wait for 2015 to enjoy the exeptional leadership from our lords and masters up north. Obviously Kolo de smell |
Demdem: It's a known fact that the cp is partisan. He has to go.Wetin concern CP for this one again? Millionaires dey throw blow you want poor policemen to go intervene? abeg leave CP for this one. If am a policeman and see stupid law makers fighting, I will only take pictures, Daz all. |
Would have been fun to See Gov Ameachi running away with the mace as if his life depended on it ![]() Somebody help me, am lost here, I thought there is segregation of powers between the executives and the legistlatives, Why will Amaechi invade the house to collect the mace. Yes, now I remember, because he loves Rivers people so much, he is only trying to prevent the good leaders of the Rivers people from being changed. A wonderful and selfless politician ![]() |
bloggernaija: Nope . Because yours are stealing does mean others are.I expect you to support your favourite leader, whoever he is, whether he is from pdp or apc. I also expect you to scream on the top of your voice that your favourite leader is a Saint, when actually he is just a common thief like the rest of them. What will actually surprise me about you is if you genuinely believe in your heart that the governor of your state or your local government chairman or whatever leader you align with is a Saint. That will be the height of delusion. |
22 billion per km of bridge by the Lagos govt. 1.3 billion per km of ordinary road by the FG. Summary, they are all thieves. We the masses simply choose the thieves will like more and support them, screaming on the top of our voices that our beloved thief is a saint. While calling the other one we do not like, thief. not long ago, benchmark price for a km of trunk A road was less than 10 million naira, That was during Obasanjo's 1999 to 2003 term. Now a km of road is in billions, very sad |
Dis pikin, why you dey bring shame to our state? How you go say this pictures are dividend of demonstration of crase. Abeg nor dey show these pictures, if you hid all this kain yeye pictures, some people nor go know wetin dey happen. dem go think say development dey happen. |
PStylish: You are a goat! The truth hurts you I guess, big fool. When your leaders were doing nocturnal meetings with those who support amnesty for terrorists, you did not come out to call them goats. Compound mumu. |
Burger01: What's there to negotiate about? No presidency to the north in the ten decades. Live with it, accept it or go jump from the cliff. How can you be so sure of this when the yoruba astute politicians are already scheming day and night how they can return their masters, the northerners to power in 2015 |
Sam xiu lee: am very sure you don't want to imagine the kind of war that will erupt in delta, the urhobo and itsekiri would not want to be part of a nation that will be dominated by the ijaws, the problem every where is domination of a particular tribe against others,a confederated southNigeria where every one control their resources, with a weak center just like we have in UAE will be the best for us all.Say what you know, since when did the urhobos tell you they are afraid of any domination in delta |
Op, I think you should change you name first, what that name connotes spell bad omen to fellow Nigerians if that is your intention. |
