Why are you paying what you are not supplied if I may ask.
I know nepa estimate your monthly bill if they can't read it monthly, but they reconcile it periodically by taking the meter reading and correcting the estimate.

check your last meter reading as recorded on your current bill and compare it to the current reading on your meter, if there is much difference between the two then bring it to nepa's notice. they should be able to sort it out.

you are not supposed to pay for energy not used. but it is not really economical to read all the meters in Nigeria once every month. so the trade off is to use estimation and correct the estimate periodical.

You can also go for prepaid meter, depending on where you are.

I don't know why Nigerians waste their precious time discussing tribal issues. Mismanagement of The country is not carried out by northern leaders alone. Take a trip to the north especially kebbi,sokoto,kano,bauchi,gombe,kogi to see for yourselves what the governors were able to do with the small alocation given to them from federation account. While the governors in the other part of the country are busy either figthing legal battle at tribunal or buying houses in europe or america. Of the former governors arrested by efcc,how many of them are from the north. while states like bayelsa and delta are getting arround 10 billion per month,state in the north get an average of 1 billion per month. So ask your leaders what they are doing with your money

Open your eyes and see what is happening, most of the federal money goes to the north and is wasted in the north, and thats the bulk of the money, thats the money that can make a difference for the whole country. Look around the world, development and national planning is spearheaded at the federal level, no state can make a meaningful progress without the federal government being committed to progress, so when charlatans lead at the federal level, everyone suffers, when they think national leadership is about sharing supply contracts they are motgaging the future.

the govs efcc arrested are not the most corrupt officials. the federal govt collects 60% of the money and there's nothing to show for it, to cover up for their lapses they harass governors who collect 25% of the allocation and have more staff to pay. if they utilise the 60% well we will not have the problems we are having. Most of the problems will have are due to federal parastatals, No electricity (PHCN), bad intercity roads (Federal), port congestion (Federal), no Security (police-federal), corruption (efcc-federal), railway (federal), all these problems are federal problems yet we visit our anger on state governors.

anytime we have a discussion northerners will say rivers, and delta state collects 10 billion monthly for that reason Hausa man get headache he go stab southerner to death. if US bomb Afghanistan, northerner go stab southerner, if dem cartoon prophet for Denmark, northerners go kill southerners, if small children come do beauty contest, northerners go kill southerners.

the money the southern states collects from the federation account is all that gets to them, check delta, or bayelsa state and count 5 federal projects in the past 20 years.

We know what the southern leaders are doing with our money, they steal some, pay wages with some and do both federal and state projects with the remainder.
What does the federal govt do with our money in the south-----nothing, no projects, no nothing. yes they foist Hausa soldiers on us to keep the peace so the looting can continue, thats the federal project in the south.

You said it all, northerners are the cause of their problem, but not only their problem, they are the cause of Nigeria's problem. They have been leading the country for ages and what has come out of it? problems, endemic corruption, backwardness and a terrible reputation.

Northerners forced themselves into the leadership of all our national companies as if it is their birth right and ran all under. They infested the military and are holding the country to ransom like soldiers of occupation.

Talking of airports, sensible people all over the world look at available market before building an investment. who were they planning will use the airport they built in the north with southern money. Look, Delta state in the south, the largest oil producer in the country before the crisis, does not have any government built airport and you build airports for cows and goats in the north. The airlines are commercial businesses, just provide passengers in any northern city and they will fly there to make a profit. You forced Nigeria Airways to fly empty to northern cities, at a loss, in the name of federal character, Nigeria airways is now under what else do you want. You want to force private airlines to fly empty to the north?

For your info, there are millions like me who will do anything to avoid the north. Who wants to go to the North and be killed because one northerner woke up with a headache?

The greatest help the Northerners can give to Nigeria is just to break away, but they will not agree, they are addicted to free oil money from the Niger delta and free tax money from Lagos. money they steal and stockpile abroad.

Northern politics has always been to retard the growth of the south for them to catch up. You talk of Unity, which took over from bank of the North, that bank had lot of PTF money stocked into it to buoy it. how many southern banks didthe PTF support?

Their is no hope for the north, not until the learn to realise that their is human right, that everyone has a right to the life, education, health, self determination and all the good things people take for granted in other shores.

Maybe a generation of Northerners will arise that will see the northern leaders just as the are, selfish and corrupt lot, and bring changes to their people, instead of seeing southerners as their problem.

I don't see why you are bothered. be happy that guys lie to you. It simply shows you are desirable and they are prepared to lie to get and keep you.

You have to understand why they lie to you. in many cases guys will tell you what they think you want to hear. That shows they don't want to lose you.

Some time ago I also saw another scam on alibaba, someone standing in for NGC (Nigeria Gas company) on alibaba with alot of grammatical errors and only GSM number.

Nigerians have several problems, but English language is not one of them. These idiots will not stop at anything, they keep causing problems for the majority.

What certification will you advice. The guy has a diploma in computing some years back, but we did not follow up on that, the guy was more interested in grabbing money from me than in trying to make his own money, so all ideas from him were aimed at ripping me off, I got fed up and abandoned him. Maybe I should have looked for a better approach then.

He doesn't smoke, drink or pick women. there is no fear of him being involved in crime either.

He is looking for paid job, the problem is that he has only school cert. but does not want any job paying less than N30k monthly.

He is the type that wants to get paid, so convincing him to start a business has always been difficult. The business he tried was trading. But I believe he doesn't just have the drive. And you need drive to suceed in business.

The problem is, will he ever be able to get a 'clean job' with school cert, paying up to 30K.

I have tried abondoning him on several occasions, it did not work. he could not just be motivated to pick any job.
He will rather starve than do any job below his status.

How do people solve this type of problem.

I have 1 brother, I think his lazy, He has been looking for a job for over 10 yrs, he comes back each time to say he can't find a job. I give him a little money monthly for upkeep, hoping he will get something to do. but till date nothing. What can I do.
