Tinapa project is falling into a class of failed or frustrated projects. The signs are clear and is a common sign. In 1980, Lateef Jakunde, former Governor of Lagos state, thought he had a great idea, he planned to build metroline in Lagos, The federal government under Shehu Shagari kicked against it. Jakunde was not asking for Federal fund for the project, just permission. The project was frustrated by the Federal Government. Today 28yrs after, the only metroline we have in Nigeria, a country of 140 million people, is Okada. Killing and Maiming thousands each year. During Tinubu's first tenure as Governor of Lagos, I thought he had a great idea, he wanted to build Independent power plant for Lagos state in partnership with Enron. The federal Government, under Obansanjo, will have non of it. they kick against it and frustrated it on all fronts. Today Lagos state still pays the Federal government before it can distribute the power it produces from the IPP. Other governors got the message. they only started IPP projects to get a conduit to steal money. Today we still produce only 3,000 of the 30,000 MW of electricity we need. Donald Duke of Cross River state thought he had a great idea, what about creating a trading hub in West Africa, accessible to Africans, Europeans and Americans, it sounded nice, so Tinapa was built and commissioned. But there is one problem, to be a trading hub it has to be Tax free, else people will not make profit coming there. The federal government does not think it is a nice idea to have a trading hub close by. Certainly it is better to go to Dubai. If you think otherwise ask Yaradua, he might be able to convince you why we should forget the fund spent on Tinapa and allow it to rot instead of making it Tax free. The logic is simple, for the country to develop, The federal government must retard the development of some parts of the country until those that are sleeping can wake up. |
Nigeria is a failed state whether you believe it or not. thats why people will always leave. The problem is that wherever you go as a Nigerian, the stigma goes before you. Its terrible being a Nigerian. Maybe that will change some day but it's not pleasant to be a Nigerian. sometimes I actually wonder if we should not partition the country like Yugoslavia. It be might just better for us. I visited Oman last week, am still there, a country of 3 million people, you can see planning by the government, in Nigerian the only govt planning is looting. You can hardly find a thing to be proud of about Nigeria abroad. |
you are a man, you see a "gorgeous" lady, you chase her for 1 day, 1wk, 1 month, maybe 7 years before she agrees. Then what next, she brings all her troubles you never knew existed during the chase, she needs support, she needs help, she need to go out when you don't want to, she needs sometime but she does no know what she need, she wants you to remind her. And you must make all the moves, the calls, pick the bills while she enjoys it. The gorgeous lady can be sick, she has faults yet she was stressing you during the chase. all of a sudden you realise you spent a considering time, effort and money to get yourself trouble in the name of a girl. What do you do. move on and look for the next gorgeous girl, and the circle repeats itself until you are trapped for good. |
Tell your father to marry her for you. The attraction will die instantly from the response you will get. Make it open knowledge in the house that you have a crunch on the kid, your dad will know the right thing to do to put you in check. but you have to get busy, get a job, an idle mind is the devil's workshop. Tell your girlfriend your predicament, you may be rewarded with more sex to keep you off the kid ![]() |
from your story the man you are in love with is a principled and empathic man. you may be mistaking is kindness for love. The fact that he is nice to you does not mean he is in love with you. That you love him does not mean he should love you in return. did he tell you he is in love with you? he could have kissed you to appreciate your love. You have been in an emotional relationship with this man for 4 yrs even though you may not know it, that will not help your relationship with your fiance. There are some barriers between you and the man that must be worked on if you intend to be with him. 1. He knows you spouse, so he might think he is being disloyal to him to be involved with you. 2. People might say he took another's mans wife. that will be against his principles, reputation matters to him, thats why he is principled, how will a relationship with you affect his reputation? Consider this. you may need to have a clean break from your fiance, not just a few months separation before he may be convinced that it is OK to be with you. 3. Also being better off financially than him might not also help his self esteem in your presence. You have to discuss this with him. 4. Why is he principled, if it due to his religion, it might be very difficult to get him. if it is due to his religion, he will simply see you as a temptation he falls into when he is weak and repents of as soon as he can. No relationship can be built on that belief. But my advice will be to forget him, work on your current relationship with your spouse to make it better and don't be emotionally involved with any other person. afterall your spouse is back. Good luck |

I need to know. where can one purchase travel insurance, I have someone going to the Netherlands and they are asking for travel insurance at the dutch embassy. I want it cheap. I prefer Nigerian company if possible, as long as it will be accepted at the embassy. The person has good health history, so most likely we are wasting the money. Quick reply needed. |
there is a lady i know, she is 50. but you can swear she is 35. I guess there must be a way of being young to an old age |
Also feed manufacture is ok. Poultry feed or floating fish feed. Always think of being on top of the chain (its less crowded at the top) there is more room for profit. being at the bottom of the chain, at the mercy of everyone is not fun. I would rather buy eggs from poultry farmers and sell than run a poultry. |
I have been in poultry business previously. It can be nice if all goes well and you are lucky. But I will never advice anyone to go into small scale poultry farming. Why? There are several factors that make for success i poultry, notable among them is disease prevention and control. to do that you need disease data, vaccination data e.t.c from the Hatchery. you will not get that in Nigeria, even the data they give cannot be relied on. so you will be running on luck or hope. well you can say you will do all the vaccinations yourself, but note that there are some that needs to be done on day one at the hatchery. how do you do that. You have more return on Investment if you keep layers, but the risks are higher. if you keep broilers, you get less profit. but you can dispose them off quickly, and if they are infected, you have less time to bury dieing birds also. If you are starting big time, then you can afford to get the best vet doctors around, you will also be able to pay for information on the status of each hatchery before buying from them, you will be able to buy feed in bulk and get good discounts, but on small scale, you are at every ones mercy. and remember fake vaccines, expired vaccines, you want to make money or solve problems? Hatcheries get infected periodically all over the world, the difference is that in Niger, they will not destroy infected birds, They will pass the risk to you. They will even swear by god that the birds were not infected before leaving their hatchery. For a start, i will advice you to go into fishery, compared to poultry, it is safer, less risk of diseases and also importantly less work. Whenever you can lose 80% of you investment without worry, then go into poultry. |
NaJa HaJe:And what's the effect |
Am off to Muscat. Who knows places of interest in Oman. Any advice is welcome. |
I will advice you to keep off poultry. The Hatcheries in Nigeria are something else. Too much diseases. Go into fish farming for a start. Anyway if you insist on going into poultry, I can rent your my structure in Warri. It can take 2000 birds in dip litter. But don't say you were not warned. |
I recieved mine from cashcraft this week. I saw it online credited to my cashcraft account Are you sure it is not cashcraft that is delaying the transfer? I think you should speak to cashcraft. |
It depends. If the man is a muslim he can marry 4 wives, so under the law you can marry him. but note that the day of the marriage my be your last happy day for along time. No need to walk into trouble. Leave the man alone. Young serious men a scarce but you can still find one. Think with your head and not with your heart and do something reasonable. Leave the man alone if you want to enjoy a married life. If you must marry the man, Then get the first wife to propose to you. That reduces the troubles. |
And for you stop seeing that your friend. He is too foolish. Why will it take him 2 full yrs to realise he is banging another guys babe |
The answer is simple. The Girl has one boyfriend only one boyfriend, but that's not your friend. ![]() Your friend is the girl's assistant boyfriend. He takes over when the real boyfriend is not available. |
How did Nigeria get a population of 140 million if love does not exist there ![]() By hating each other ?? |
bawomolo:If you wait for the Nigeria govt, then you will wait for ever. whoever has an interest in the technology should form a company and go into it. you don't even have to sell it in Nigeria. There is a word called globalisation, no boundaries, so dream and live your dream and forget Nigeria govt. |
make your life a success while you are young and at old age you will have less worries. do not waste your youth so that your fears do not come to pass. |
I think you should prepare to move on. before moving, discuss with him to know what went wrong. he may be hiding the real reasons from you so as not to hurt you further. So try and get the real reasons from him. convince him you won't be offended over the reason. The reasons will tell you the next step. From what you have said, the reason is either you or him. There might be another woman, in that case move on. It might be that he does like some things about you, you can talk it over with him, you might win him back. make sacrifices to keep what you have, the next man might be worse. but the likelihood of getting him back may slim, it normally takes alot of effort to renege of marital promise, and once done, there is always a reason behind it. so as i said, prepare to move on. and next time don't love a man sooo much, it can be chocking and not every man likes to be chocked. If your relationship has gotten to the extent of involving your families, then I guess you deserve a good explanation for the breakup. so get the explanation. |
