Seun360: I strongly support such move, they must be investigated. Its the tribunal and appeal court justices who gave the flawed judgement against Wike that ought to be probed. It is obvious that APC and Oyegun wasted their time and money with relocating the tribunal to Abuja, then inducing the appeal court justices to give a judicially flawed verdict at the appellate court. They got to the unfortunate end of the road when the matter got to the supreme court. Nigerians need to know the new "Ayo Salamis" existing in the appeal court, and get them out of the system before they rubbish the judiciary at that level. |

StuntingBlack: Can someone please tell me the usefullness of our NNPC if I may ask? So far, observations till date only shows the NNPC as nothing but just a sack of disgrace of a federal institution that keeps failing to make any tangible impact in the life of the average Nigerian. Why then should selling this disgrace called NNPC be a problem for us? I'll rather NNPC be privatized than my life. At the very least, I stand to gain indirectly from a Chinese acquisition than from one incompetent government institution lacking integrity.
And though I may have voted Buhari with my thumbs, its quite foolhardy to keep pinning blames on the past administration (even though its a fact) rather than concentrate on resolving the current economic situation. Its already established Jonadunce is the incompetent and corrupt buffoon responsible for the current mess. But why keep blabbering over and over on the same thing instead of fixing issues?
Save words for later and address reality, oh ye APC friends!!!
You seriously do not know or understand what you are talking about. You can as well outsource the entire country to the Chinese since you and your Buhari have obviously run out of ideas. It is better for the present government to honorably throw in the towel than to contemplate the absurdly unthinkable idea of selling off our commonwealth. |

adrusa: Shocking. We will be keenly listening to the supremo on Friday to see what the other 6 judges who had adjudicated on the issues previously missed. Their lordships have once again validated the usefulness of the Nigerian politician's oft-quoted mantra of "win first and everything else can be taken care of later". A unanimous verdict of the Supreme Court only happens when there is no iota of doubt as to the error in the judgement of the lower courts, especially the appeal court. This is because the judgements of the Supreme Court in a constitutional democracy like ours is not just ordinary judgements, but law because the judgements always in most cases are legal precedents for all future cases on the respective subject matter. We are confident that Buhar's assault on the judiciary will be dealt with effectively when it gets to the Supreme Court. The decisions of the justices of the Supreme Court are not based on pleasing the president, but to interprete the laws of the land in full respect to the rule of law. This is why we are very confident that all these media trial currently going on, in the name of the fight against corruption will all undergo thorough judicial scrutiny up to the level of the Supreme Court, so you guys should get ready. |

Politics › Re: Igbo Intimidating Buhari With Biafra To Get Appointments – Sagay by ogene007: 4:54pm On Jan 07, 2016 |
byteHead: Constitutional lawyer and Chairman of the Presidential Advisory Committee on Corruption, Prof. Itse Sagay (SAN) on Thursday came down hard on proponents of the agitation of Biafra Republic, saying they are doing so for selfish reasons.
Speaking in a chat with Daily Independent on why the agitation for Biafra became so serious after former president Goodluck Jonathan’s tenure, Sagay said those clamouring for Biafra are doing so in order to intimidate President Muhammadu Buhari into giving the Igbos positions they don’t deserve having rigged themselves out of contention in the present administration.
Describing the Igbos as die-hard loyalists of Jonathan, he said the Igbos who occupied 50 percent of federal positions in the country under the Jonathan administration resorted to rigging for the PDP in the last general elections.
According to him, having lost out due to their lack of principle, opportunism and rigging, the Igbos decided to resurrect Biafra as a ploy to negotiate with the federal government for appointments they don’t deserve.
“I have been studying elections very closely in this country since 2007. The Igbos were committed to Goodluck Jonathan. But they didn’t leave it at that just convince people to vote for him”.
“They decided to rig for PDP and Jonathan. They did that yet, the party still lost out at the federal level. So, they lost out”.
“If you look at Jonathan’s government, the Igbos were in almost 50 percent of positions in this country. But they lost out because of their rigging and opportunism and lack of principle”.
“And now they want to take it out on Buhari by resurrecting Biafra. They want to intimidate Buhari so much. They will now want to negotiate with them and start giving them things and positions they don’t deserve. That is intimidation and threat for no just cause”
“In summary, they rigged themselves out of contention in the present administration and they are not prepared to accept the consequence of their own actions” he said.
http://dailyindependentnig.com/2016/01/igbo-intimidating-buhari-biafra-get-appointments-sagay/ Sagay is just another sycophant who is working very hard to impress his slave master, Buhari, by insulting a people who epitomize all the lofty dreams he has never been able to achieve. Igbos have never been a slave to the hausa/fulani political establishment, unlike the likes of Sagay who thrive perpetual servitude to his slave masters. It goes to show what the political arena has descended to, if the like of this low-life will continuously disturb us with trash after trash, in the name of interviews. |
Politics › Re: APC Warns Against Insulting Buhari, Government Officials - Premiumtimes by ogene007: 11:10pm On Jan 03, 2016 |
W cramjones: The All Progressives Congress, APC, has condemned what it called the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP’s “unprovoked insults and unguarded statements” on President Muhammadu Buhari and other members of the APC.
The APC said in the aftermath of last Wednesday’s presidential chat, PDP’s spokesperson, Olisa Metuh in a statement issued on Thursday amongst others called Mr. Buhari an “unrepentant tyrant” and a “fascist”.
APC said PDP accused ministers and APC members of corruption while further accusing the president of a selective anti-corruption fight. APC’s national chairman, John Odigie-Oyegun, in a statement Saturday said, “The APC is worried by PDP’s inciting statements. Respect for the office of the president or heads of government in any clime is not a matter of choice but a civic obligation sanctioned by laws. Being an opposition party or critic is no license to issue abusive, intemperate and slanderous statements on government officials; most especially the president of the country.
“The PDP has proven that it is not a party to be trusted or taken seriously. Only recently, the PDP said in a December 24, 2015 statement: ‘we urge that Nigerians should not recourse to hauling insults on the President’. “For the umpteenth time, the APC urges Nigerians who see merit in the war that the President Buhari-led administration is waging against corruption, not to be distracted by the PDP and their agents of corruption to discredit the war. For the records, the ongoing war against corruption is not selective. Anybody guilty of corrupt practices will face the law. “If the PDP has any proof of corruption against any APC member or minister as alleged, we advise that they approach any of the anti-graft agencies constitutionally mandated to handle such cases.
“PDP’s rant suggesting a selective anti-corruption fight by the present administration should be seen as a plot meant to distract the citizenry from the successful ongoing war against graft. “The PDP does not have the luxury of dictating how the present administration carries out its legitimate duty of catching looters, as long as it conforms with the rule of law.”
