I was told by a customer care rep at Gtbank that it usually would take 48-72hrs before the new email is linked to your BVN. if you want same new mail linked to your account, this is done within 24hrs
I'm guessing BVN linking takes longer as they have to relate same with your other banks.

it doesn’t have to take longer. Mine took effect same day. Let the op go to the bank where he registered his BVN as was advised on this thread.

My question now is this, is there a way I can know or confirm that my Gmail has been linked to my bvn ?Thanks

try inputting your email address on tradesystem as one who wants to register, it will ask for your bvn, if the email has been updated you will be able to register with that email address

Kindly visit any branch of the bank where you did your BVN. They are the only one who can change it. Visiting other banks will only have them change the email of your account with them; not the one on your BVN.

Note; I came to ask the house about declaring just 1 refusal rather than two and I was asked to withdraw the application that it can lead to 10years BAN but I believe in grace that supersedes protocol and I put the whole application in God’s hands and lo and behold the visa was issued.

Usually renewal means your application have been on their portal with unique GWF number. So to run through your application is easier than new application. On the other hand most renewal get delay if it's spousal permit , study route, family reunion, business permit. Etc...For obvious reasons its their pace settings.

However, I’m applying through the visiting route, my brother in the UK would be sponsoring me fully, he has provided all relating documents like his residency permit , his bank statements and invitation letter. I just want to know what my chances are , although I don’t earn much here in Nigeria (100-150k) as I was also asked to provide my bank statement for funds accessible by me . It would be fully stated in the letter that my brother is sponsoring me .

I’ll like to disagree elderssss. Based on the stated 100 to 150k income + full sponsorship your chances look low. They’ll expect you to have some stability in Nigeria and something that will surely make you abandon the UK to return home.
Do you have travel history? Do you have anything particularly tieing you to Nigeria as your job circumstance is not fantastic and you are single. Work on other ties, until you hold something tangible hold on.

It's risky to buy one way ticket on a vist visa. My last trip to the UK, the border officer asked for my return ticket. She took her time to check it thoroughly and noted that the information on the ticket was the same with what I told her verbally when she asked me questions.
Imagine if I bought one way ticket for whatever reason...

NO it isn't must. It is at the discretion of the border officer to ask for proof of whatever and in-line with the UK home office policy and that 6 out of 10 visitors get asked that don't mean it is a must thing to travel with.

Though I should state here, the onus is on the visitor to show that he/she would leave the UK and her borders, at most within 180days on a visiting visa, i.e with/out a valid return ticket just as was demonstrated in the visa application process.

You are right. If you want to purchase tickets via wakanow and the rest and you book one way from Nigeria- they’ll call you and ask you if there’s a particular reason you are booking/buying a 1 way ticket.
If you say oh I am on a student visa or work visa then they will go ahead- they will always ask.
I have heard of airlines not boarding visit visa people with 1 way tickets from Asian colleagues. bangladeshi, Pakistanis etc
