I am a graduate of political science from the university of Calabar Calabar. Currently without a Job but willing to make headway in Life. I have been thinking of trying to learn a trade under the Igbo apprenticeship system. How do I go about it and is it a bad Idea. I need valuable suggestions and referrals. I was thinking of relocating from Lagos to either Onitsha main market or going back to the north where I was born precisely Sokoto state.

Car Talk › Re: How Much Does It Actually Cost To Get A Drivers License In Nigeria? by OGHENAOGIE(m): 6:00pm On Sep 14, 2020
bibe:
I have successfully renewed my license twice for #6350.
Basically the charge is #6000 for 3 years license and #10000 for 5 years license, with additional #350 bank charge in both cases. Renewed first time in Abuja and second time in Abakaliki.

You can actually do this yourself totally by going online, filling the form in their website, making payment at the bank and proceeding to their office with the forms for further processing. If you opted for recapturing, then you'll be recaptured at their office. However, ensure you know your road signs as you'll be tested by VIO office. If you don't pass this test you'll be charged some amount I think it is #1500 and you'll be issued with a CD and a small pamphlet containing road signs and their meaning and will be rescheduled for the test. You'll be issued with a temporary license and will receive an SMS to come collect your licence when it is ready (usually within 60-90 days).

The problem is people always resort to hearsay and are always in a haste and that's why the get ripped off. Please stop encouraging the rot in the system and use the official channels to get your licence.

PS: I also got my first passport the same way. Didn't pay any extra money, went to their website, filled the form, paid the fee and went to the immigration office.

Cheers.
the FRSC office is at Ikeja right... That's the only place one can do the license right..

I went to do drovers licence at ikeja license office at old secretariat on Thursday
After paying the official 6k online the people at the license office insisted i pay additional two thousand five hundred before my form could be signed
The funniest thing is that the 2k5 was not receipted
Even the people at vio office collected 1500 to for the test that is suppose to be free
The only people that are clean in that secretariat na are the road safty
They do capturing for you without collecting a dame from u
Thank God i was able to do capturing and collected temporal drivers licence same day
so from ikorodu na only Ikeja I fit do the license... ? Can I get the license if I pass through driving school cos I don't know how to drive yet??...

The government official is not being truthful, in this corona period, most of the medical experts practice in the teaching hospital and lecture in the university.

Scenario A
For instance Professor A is paid an Honorarium by LUTH where he does research and practices he drops his BVN there

Scenario B
Professor A is also a lecturer in UNILAG where he lectures and does research in the college of medicine and you have with held his salary for months and is now asking for BVN.

Let us assume he now gives his BVN to the VC of UNILAG, how will the government reconcile this scenario?

That is just a tip of the ice berg that ASUU is fighting against.
luth should decide how to pay them from their internal money period...

Fkj202004:
I have read so many comments here that lecturers have something that they are hiding. Well, they are trying only to safeguard their source of income in which the FG wants to take away.

Let me point to you that it is simply not wrong for any lecturer to lecture in more than one university. It is because there are no much lecturers in federal or even state universities; that is why you see one lecturer handling almost 4000 students which is not supposed to be so. So the few that is available tries to go to other schools to lecture as visiting-lecturer and even part time, and so they must be paid.

Now FG is trying every possible way to cut that off.

Who are they deceiving?

Mind you am not a lecturer not to talk of been an ASUU member.
let any school getting a visiting lecturer pay from their internal generated funds... we have intelligent guys who can do these Jobs most times recruitment are Done without the public knowing its man know man...
Education › Re: ASUU Salaries: Use Of BVN Will Expose Lecturers With Multiple Jobs – FG by OGHENAOGIE(m): 7:21pm On Apr 24, 2020
kikero:
The reason why lecturers have multiple jobs is simple...Nigeria does not have enough lecturers.

Indeed, the NUC issued a report in 2012 that pointed this problem of lecturer shortages out. And 8 years later, it is still a big problem

As a result, lecturers have jobs in 2 or 3 universities, because if they did not, many of those universities, mostly private, would lose their accreditation immediately. And with the number of people writing and passing JAMB far higher than the number of available spaces for them in university, that is a disaster waiting to happen.

Also, there is something called 'sabbatical' where lectures go and do some academic work elsewhere in another university, using facilities that their uni might not have. If government cuts that off because they want to stop waste...what would happen next.

Yes, let us get this IPPIS thing on the ground...but let the Educaiton ministry be realistic....otherwise, we may end up with universities lacking lecturers.
stop this rubbish talk I have bsc, some of my class mate get MSc we can fit in as a academic why should one man collect salary 4 people should collect... dem born them with books ni
