Congratulations! Clap for yourself that SW indigenes are the most populous overseas. FreeStuffsNG: It is possible if you can find the data to support your view. There are now data for all these issues unlike before where people make wild guesses.
The report showing SW leading in remittances aligns with the data that clearly indicated that SW indigenes are the most populous in the diaspora. Until I saw that data, I have only assumed that SW indigenes do more travel internationally than within the borders of our nation. |

Most of the money people spend on shipping stuff back home are legit. The problem is getting back your hard-earned seed money, much less getting the profit. Family always find ways to disrupt your business with their laziness or bills. You do all the monkey work, while they chop you with baboon stories. Many folks overseas have been burnt, exhausted, and are stepping back from such ventures. Nigeria is not an easy place to thrive. SmartPolician: The major reason is that Nigerians don't like paying charges on remittances. Instead, they go through channels they don't have to pay high fees.
Also, some people use their money to buy goods overseas, ship to Nigeria and have someone sell them.
This is often if their money is not legit. Such money won't appear under diaspora remittance.
PS: Swift is making a hell of money for facilitating all these cross-border remittances. |

I agree. That’s what I do. I send cars, computers, and other useful items to help myself and family members. PHIPEX: I can tell you for free that most of those from the East use their remittance to buy goods and it comes as import instead of remittance, that's equivalent to earning a profit from same "remittance". |

The remittances to Nigeria will continue to dwindle if our government, families, and friends back home continue to take for granted the hard-earned monies being sent to them. It is exhausting to see some of our people waste money on useless things, rather than making productive attempts to invest the money given. |

Without a doubt, he’s convincing Nigerians on a daily basis and gaining grounds as he meets them face-to-face to share his experiences, knowledge, and ideas that would set Nigeria on a good path. Consequently, words about his antecedents and plans are spreading wildly and widely across Nigeria. But, he isn’t resting on his oars. So, he’s set sail to reach a multitude of Nigerians who left for greener pastures. With the short memory and gullibility of most Nigerians, it behoves Mr. Obi to keep the issues plaguing Nigeria on the front burner while brainstorming with Nigerians at home and abroad. CheapHomes1: Do those in Nigeria need those abroad to call them before they vote for obi? Is it not the same obi that those in Nigeria are seeing here all the time? Is it until he goes to the US before nigerians resident in Nigeria will be convinced to vote for him? What kind of logic is that? |

He’s not a wasteful man. He is a true charismatic, not the type of showboating and lavishing person you expect him to be. Besides, his children are a chip off the old block. It may have been his daughter’s choice to keep her wedding simple. thedio: This shows Obi is not charismatic, he is a bad leader. You have to be a serial pessimist and myopist (sic), in the face of hope, to keep asking for more justifications to survive the calamity caused by the APC. So, you don’t think Nigerians calling home to encourage their loved ones, dependents, friends, and foes to vote a great candidate is one out of many good reasons Mr. Obi is traveling to go engage diasporans? Politics › Re: 2023: Peter Obi Leaves For The US, To Engage Nigerians In Diaspora by Ogurube: 4:29pm On Aug 25, 2022 |
True. He recognizes the value that most Nigerians in diaspora add towards helping strengthen the image and substance of a significantly diminished Nigeria. More so, this would be a fantastic opportunity to establish his brand globally to attract business-minded partakes and partners in the the Nigeria 2027 Project, where issues of corruption, key infrastructure, and poverty would be on a decline. edungene7: For the first time in Nigerian history we have a man with a different idea and strategy rather than the normal money bag politics Peter obi God bless u |

Dude, stop being so small-minded. You should be left to wallow in your mischief. No amount of elucidations would suffice for your comprehension. People like you think “diasporans” are only good for sending things that grow on trees back home. There’s what you call strategic marketing for increased brand visibility globally and campaign fund inflow. CheapHomes1: And so? How does that answer the question How can people abroad be calling those here in Nigeria to advise who to vote for? |

Oga, please shut up if don’t understand that some words can be applied in both negative and positive contexts. Impending means that something is happening or likely to happen soon. E.g, impending marriage, impending storm, impending graduation, and so on. Yours Obidiently omenka: Impending graduation?
How can graduation which is a positive thing be "impending"? The word impending applies only to negative events, a paper as big as thisday should know this.

What’s has being a born-again Christian got to do with making a common-sense decision over the recovery of Nigeria from the insatiable jaws of morally bankrupts and bandits? Please keep that religious thought to yourself. While you can vote any candidate your desire, remember that Nigeria deserves a leader who has a track record of prudence, productivity, and patriotism. GOTVee:
Even though I'm a born again Christian, I would like to remind my Christian brothers nationwide that voting Peter Obi is a wrong decision because he is an anti-christ. He demolished so many churches during his time in Anambra and the Akwuzu Sars killings hangs on his head till date. The holy spirit revealed to his Highness Father Mbaka about the man called Obi and he warned us to be mindful of such a man. God forbid we have him as president. Let's unite with other Nigerians and vote for anyone else but Peter Obi. |

Reno gave a wrong analogy with the Dunkirk situation. Ukraine should allow fleeing Africans to reach the places of refuge where they can be evacuated by their home countries. If Nigeria sends a boat, plane, or bus to Polish borders, just like the Britain did for British soldiers at Dunkirk, then by all means, Nigerian refugees should board first. Besides, isn't Ukraine developed enough to have put logistical contingencies for movement of refugees, in anticipation of the war?
If Nigeria were to be under attack by Cameroon, I bet foreigners would be evacuated with top priority. This shows Africans are always put at the bottom of the totem pole, given the state of dysfunction in the motherland. This impending war should've been seen as a form as ASUU strike or oso ABIOLA; the students should've been notified to head home or get to the nearest port of escape. |
