Wrong! The British and the stooges leading Nigeria are mainly to blame. Nigeria was in crisis, due to the upheaval of politics in the West and corruption at the federal and regional levels, just like we've witnessed in recent times. Those military officers were spurred to nip the problems in the bud. They learned from other countries that had witnessed take-overs of civilian governments by men in uniforms due to misgovernance, like in Iran, Pakistan, Venezuela, Syria, Cuba, Congo, etc. Injustice and inequity lead to an agitation for change of government. If Nzeogwu started it, Gowon, Murtala Mohammed, Buhari, Babangida, or Abacha could have stopped it. But, they carried on the tradition until a greater force intervened.

Firstly, Germany, from its founding up to WW2, wasn't a shithole, unlike Nigeria, a British-contrived shithole from its forced and sloppy founding. Secondly, after Hitler and his men lost, Germany was left a brain-drained shithole, with most of cities pummeled to rubbles and Jewish intelligentsia gone. But, its disgraced people saw the crimes committed by their Fuhrer and atoned for their sins by groveling on their knees for help. And, the Allies came to their rescue while pushing back Russia. STOP being ignorant with reckless abandon. Do some due research. You'll find that GIDADO is a family name borne across the Southwest, especially in Ekiti and Kwara. They're also in Lagos. Gidado found its way into southwestern communities, just like other Fulani names - Sanusi, Amodu, Bello, Lawan, Saraki, etc - were adopted along with Islam. Got it?

All Ms. Owens is doing is play Uncle Tom for the GOP to try to woo some 2-goody-shoes Blacks to their party of bigotry. Is it not the same Republican Party, under Andrew Johnson, that reneged on the promises made by Lincoln to compensate emancipated slaves with 40 acres and a mule? Is it not the same Republicans who conspired to impede high-ranking Black members who did not meet their "Lily White" criteria? Is it not the same Republican Party that filibustered to undermine the Civil Rights and Voting Rights Bill? Is it not the same Republicans that got in the way of Obama's great ideas, who are now looking the other way from Trump's umpteenth travesties? Abegi, make she park well and shut up. Nigerians or Nigerian-Americans don't need anyone's validations about how hard we work. Rather, we'd like to be seen as achievers and charitable back home.
