BusinessHow To Avoid Bad Keywords In Google Adwords by ojasweb(op): 1:02am On Nov 22, 2016
The effectiveness of your Google AdWords ads depends on the quality the keywords. First thing first, AdWords is an online advertising platform owned by Google whose strategy is hidden in the use of keywords to make your advert visible to online surfers.
By your advert being visible to online surfers, I mean that when people type in words related to your advert on Google, your advert comes up and because it is relevant to them, they click on them – and if they are impressed enough, they pay for your product or service. This way, you make money.

Note that as at the point of setting up your Google advertising campaign, you must have to input the keywords that are related to your product or service and by which potential customers are going to find you. For instance, you can’t be advertising a school and then use “durable,” “strong,” or “fairly used,” as keywords for a school. Those keywords will suit more appropriately for electronics. So it is critical that you use the right words for your product to make it seen by those who need it.
In Nigeria, a lot of people are joining the online business – therefore many Nigerian owned websites are springing up on the internet every day. The survival of these sites online depends on their attitude towards advertising, their expertise in Google advertising and a whole lot of other factors.

But then, when you choose Google as your Advertising platform, you must use the right keywords to make your investment worth it. Bad keywords have a lot of consequences that you wouldn’t wish on yourself:
Firstly, your advert will not be seen by the people who need it. Since Google works with keywords, potential customers on Google, will use the keywords that should describe your product in their search but your product will not appear because the keywords you used for your Google advertising were not used in the search.
Secondly, your advert will appear to those who don’t need it or who are not searching for it.

Thirdly, your entire investment in Google advertising, will be a total waste since it will not bring you returns. You will not make sales or at least, expected volume of sales because you used bad keywords for your product.
The important question here is, “How can one avoid the use of bad keywords for Google advertising in Nigeria?”
We will address this issue in the following lines and paragraphs – and give you tips on how to avoid bad keywords for your Google advertising.

Proper knowledge of your product or service

There is no doubt that knowing your product or service well, is the first step towards choosing the right keywords for it. Knowing the features of your product, what it offers, how it is used, helps you in choosing what relevant keywords that can make it sell. So before your advert goes live, find out these facts about your product and I bet you, that you’ve broken down a normally tedious process in keyword research.

Business3 Most Effective Online Advertising In Nigeria by ojasweb(op): 8:50am On Nov 12, 2016
Online advertising is becoming more popular in Africa, and particularly in Nigeria. The criteria used to classify the most effective online advertising in Nigeria are based on different factors and the goals of the advertising. If you’ve been using different online advertising platforms, it is most likely that you’ll prefer some of the platforms due to their simplicity, reach and/effectiveness. I personally prefer some of the advertising platforms because of their near-accurate targeting and larger audience. All of these will be discussed in the next few paragraphs.

Obviously, there are many ways to run adverts on the internet. However, not all the available techniques or platforms are effective in Nigeria. If you’re new to the online advertising, it is very important for you to understand how it works and which techniques or platform is best for your business. As a full time digital marketer and online advertiser, I have run adverts on almost all of the popular advertising platforms available on the internet. In this article, I will share my personal experience, and use some of the freely available research reports to explain why some online advertising platforms are the best for Nigerian market.
Before we go into the details, let’s quickly discuss some of the reasons why you need to advertise your business online, and why you should do your homework before using any of the available advertising platforms.

Why advertising online?

The world is going digital, I guess you’re aware of it. As at the time of writing this article, more than 1 billion people are already using the internet throughout the world. Nowadays, it is quite easy to connect with people in different parts of the world using the internet. Back in the days when the internet was not available, communication was very limited to the people in your territory or using the expensive media. Now that everyone has access to the internet, it is extremely easy for business owners to use the sophisticated tools to promote their businesses to people beyond their local environment. You can use the internet to deliver your advertisement to targeted people in different parts of the world at affordable rate. In fact, you can decide to segment your audience and deliver your adverts to people based on their, interest, age, gender, ethnicity, parental status, etc. Amazingly, you can do all of these from the comfort of your bedroom. So, with the unlimited opportunities, online advertising is worth it for every business.

Most effective online advertising in Nigeria

The effectiveness of online advertising can be determined in different ways. Before you get carried away by the numerous testimonials, it is important for you to know the kind of results you are expecting for your advertising. Some people measure the effectiveness of their campaigns by the number impressions they get, the calls, leads, website SignUp or sales. If your primary objective is to boost your sales, you need to understand your market and know the best way to reach them. So, which are the most effective online advertising in Nigeria?

Google AdWords

Even if you don’t know what AdWords is, I’m pretty sure that you know the Google search engine. AdWords is the Google’s department that deals with advertising. If you’re new to the online advertising, you need to look for a competent person or advertising agency to manage your campaign. Undoubtedly, Google AdWords is the most complex online advertising platform available today. Whether you’re planning to advertise your business on YouTube, Google search engine, Gmail, Google play store or other websites in the display network, you need to be familiar with AdWords and all the sophisticated tools available for advertisers.
There are many reasons why AdWords is regarded as the most effective online advertising in Nigeria. Highlighted below are some of the notable reasons:
AdWords allow advertisers to run different kinds of advertising, such as a text ad, banner ad, and video ads.
AdWords also allow advertisers to publish ads on different websites in the Google Display Network (GDN).
There are ad choices available for advertisers to choose from
You only pay per ad click (PPC)
Google also refunds invalid ads click, making it possible for advertisers to review their ads and optimize it for better performance.
Ability to automate different aspects of the campaign.
Ability to setup “call only ads”
Integration with third party apps and devices, etc.
How effective is Google AdWords?
As stated in one of the previous paragraphs, campaign effectiveness can be determined in different ways. For Google AdWords, you can track every single activity in your campaign. Some of the interesting things about Google AdWords is that you can run adverts for different purposes, such as business awareness, lead generation, sales drive, survey, video views, application installs, etc.
Since the advertising results can be measured by clicks, conversions, app installation, calls, and video views, it is very possible to get the best result without spending too much of money.

This is spamming, but not your fault. You can use WordPress spam shield (that is if your blog is built on WordPress) to protect your blog from all forms of spamming. However, the plugin might prevent some insightful comments from getting to the approval page. If you're not getting huge amount of it, you can activate the manual approval settings so that such comments don't get published. Alternatively, if the comments are coming from a single IP, though very unusual, you can block them from commenting. Foreign AffairsGerman Chancellor Angela Merkel Escaped Assassination by ojasweb(op): 10:31pm On Aug 25, 2016
A feared assassination attempt on German Chancellor Angela Merkel has reportedly been foiled in Prague.

Czech police halted an armed man in a black 4x4 Mercedes as he allegedly tried to join Merkel’s motorcade during her visit to the capital.

" The perpetrator has been detained,” police spokesman Josef Bocan said.

"He is suspected of attempting to cause a crime – specifically an attempt to use violence against an official.”

“The incident is currently being investigated by Prague detectives.”

The chancellor was in Prague to meet Prime Minister Bohuslav Sobotka.

The chancellor was travelling from the airport to the city when the suspicious vehicle appeared on the outskirts of the city, Russia Today reports.

The Mercedes driver is reported to have refused to obey orders coming from police cars accompanying the German chancellor.

He is alleged to have carried on trying to enter the motorcade and cut off a police vehicle that was trying to stop him.

He only stopped and got out of the vehicle after police warned him that they were going to shoot.”

It comes as Europe remains on a state of high alert following a series of shocking terror attacks over the past 12 months.

France, Germany and Belgium have fallen victim to atrocities committed by alleged jihadists, claiming hundreds of lives.

Meanwhile, it has been reported that Islamic State fighters are using drones equipped with HD cameras to co-ordinate suicide bomb attacks in a chilling leap forward in terrorism technology.

The hi-tech jihadists are believed to have purchased hundreds of the flying robots via the internet through the black market and third parties for up to $1,000 per unit.

Twisted ISIS military chiefs are known to send drones into the sky to spy on their enemies - or to give orders to mobile suicide bombers on the ground.

This new chilling footage captured by one of the group's own cameras is thought to show an unnamed terrorist bragging about the technology which ISIS has at its disposal.

ISIS is increasing the size of its drone unit in a bid to launch more deadly attacks.

PoliticsFull Speech Of Pres Buhari At The Association Of African Central Banks by ojasweb(op): 10:43am On Aug 22, 2016
SPEECH DELIVERED BY PRESIDENT MUHAMMADU BUHARI AT THE OPENING OF THE 2016 ANNUAL MEETING OF THE ASSOCIATION OF AFRICAN CENTRAL BANKS, IN ABUJA, ON AUGUST 18, 2016

1. It is my great pleasure to welcome you all to our capital city of Abuja, on the occasion of the 2016 Governors Symposium and the 39th Ordinary Session of the Assembly of Governors of the Association of African Central Banks. I advise our guests, especially those who are visiting Abuja for the first time, to take time out to tour and enjoy the bustle and variety of the city and the well-known hospitality of the Nigerian people.

2. Your distinguished club, the Assembly of Governors of the Association of African Central Banks meets annually to discuss and exchange views and experiences on topical issues affecting African economies and seek ways to improve macroeconomic governance in our countries. I sincerely hope that this year’s event would generate discussions and provide viable policy options that would assist to resolve the numerous economic challenges facing the continent.

3. Your Excellencies, distinguished guests, ladies and gentlemen, I believe that the theme of this year’s Symposium—“Unwinding Unconventional Monetary Policies: Implications for Monetary Policy and Financial Stability in Africa”— covers contemporary issues and is of special relevance to us in Africa. It corresponds with a period when African economies are confronted with a number of growing and sometimes extraneous challenges that constitute threats to growth and the stability of our financial systems.

4. I am confident that you will come up with practical ways by which we can chart a way forward for the growth and development of Africa. The region is confronted with several global and domestic economic challenges. Most worrisome is the slowdown in growth; weakening global demand; rising inflation; restrictions in capital flows; rising debt levels; increased exchange rate volatility and depleting external reserves.

5. Those of us who rely on only natural resources such as Nigeria, Angola, South Africa, and Mozambique have been hit the hardest. We have also had to contend with the effect of the Ebola Virus Disease, which struck some countries in the West-African Sub-region. Furthermore, China, a major trade and business partner to a number of African countries is currently slowing down as it remodels its economy, sparking fears of further weakening.

6. Faced with these challenges, African Central Banks have been at their best in keeping African economies afloat through proactive and effective combination of conventional and innovative monetary policies. I urge you to continue to look for original home-grown solutions, not to rely on “fit for all purposes” prescriptions handed down from abroad. The world is a dynamic place and with innovation, we can survive.

7. In Nigeria, the Central Bank of Nigeria has for many years spearheaded economic stimulus measures through specific intervention programmes. I think these measures should be sustained through good times and through difficult times.
8. Distinguished Ladies and Gentlemen, we fully understand that monetary policy alone is not sufficient to bring about desired economic growth. We must carefully balance monetary and fiscal policy measures.

9. For us in Nigeria, while recognizing the challenges we are confronted with and the need to surmount them, we are determined to diversify the economy away from excessive reliance on oil and other primary products. Consequently, we are taking measures and implementing policies that would ensure we are self-sufficient, generate massive employment for millions of our youth, and explore our untapped human and natural resources.

10. We shall also embark on export and production diversification steps including investment in infrastructure; promotion of manufacturing through agro-based industries and expansion of Regional Trade. All these would involve integrating the informal economy into the mainstream and providing funds to Small and Medium Enterprises. We shall also continue, with greater determination and focus to pursue our goal of ensuring improved security for our country and its citizens, and without letting up on our fight against corruption and terrorism.

11. Side by side, with economic stimulus measures, we must intensify our surveillance and give guidance to the operations of our financial institutions to reverse the trend of illicit flows of funds out of Africa. We should all be serious in putting place measures aimed at ensuring that the proceeds of these illicit flows are repatriated to their countries of origin with minimal bureaucratic hitches.
12. Your Excellencies, Distinguished Ladies and Gentlemen, I now have the pleasure and honour of declaring this Symposium officially open. I wish you all very fruitful deliberations.

PoliticsLawyers To Buhari: Don't Humiliate Jonathan Over ND Avengers by ojasweb(op): 9:36am On Aug 21, 2016
The allegation that former President Goodluck Jonathan is part of those sponsoring militants in Nigeria has continued to draw reactions – Lawyers across the country have added their voice to the controversy and told President Muhammadu Buhari what to do concerning the allegation – They however warned Buhari against humiliating the former president all in the name of conducting a probe without facts

Jonathan was named by the Movement for the Emancipation of the Niger Delta (MEND) as one of the sponsors of the agitating group that has blown up many government installations across the Niger Delta region and has threatened to declare independence on October 1.

The former president, on his part, had denied the allegation fingering those who are jealous of his rising international profile as responsible for the report that linked him with militants.

Daily Trust reports that Femi Falana, one of the lawyers who spoke on the issue warned the federal government to probe Jonathan only with watertight evidence that he was actually involved. Falana, a Lagos-based human rights lawyer, said a serious allegation as this must be handled with care. The senior lawyer added: “During the campaigns, the groups (militants) threatened to break up the country if Dr Jonathan did not win the 2015 presidential election.

“Did the security forces monitor the groups after the elections? Are we not dealing with another case of failure of intelligence? “Those who set up the Boko Haram sect are known to the state.

Has the government moved against them? “The militant groups in the Niger Delta were set up by politicians. Have they been asked to account? Surely, the state has lost the monopoly of violence to militant and terrorist groups. “The incompetence of the ruling class has compounded the crisis of nation building.
On his part, Auwalu Hamisu Yadudu, a professor of law, said though there was nothing bad in probing Jonathan, the evidence must be real. “Although some people are of the view that Jonathan should not be probed because he was defeated in election by President Buhari and so on, but in law that should not be a basis to exempt him from being probed if found wanting in committing some wrongdoings that warrant probe.

“I will not encourage humiliating or maltreating the former president in the name of probe. “Not only an ex-president, whoever is involved in this kind of situation should be treated fairly and justly. “The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) and the Independent Corrupt Practices Commission (ICPC) have their mandates, so if the allegations against Jonathan fall within their mandates they should handle it,” he said. READ ALSO: EFCC files charges against Dudafa, lawyer over $15.6m In his reaction, constitutional lawyer, Festus Okoye, said: “As far as I am concerned, any individual that has committed any form of criminal offence or has committed any form of infraction should be investigated and tried, including former President Jonathan.

“There is no need to set up any panel, the former president is like anybody in the country, and you know that nobody is above the law. “If he has a case to answer, he should be referred to either the ICPC or the EFCC, depending on his offence. “Why didn’t they threaten to do so when he (Jonathan) was our president and doing what he did. “The country is for all us and we must all be seen to be working in the interest of the country. So we should not be threatened with secession.

“The fact that an armed robber is not arrested, does not mean that those who are arrested should not be tried. “So, those who are saying why Jonathan alone do not mean well for the country. The fact that he was a former president makes the probe necessary.” In his own advice, another senior lawyer, Abeny Mohammed, said: “This is not what the country needs at this time. This country is not a nation-state, as such we are just patching its up unity.

“That is why we must restructure this country so that the powers and finances are not concentrated at the centre while states cannot even pay salaries.

“The PDP government, which Jonathan led, was corrupt, but the federal government, in the probe of the government, has in their wisdom left him out.

“I know that the people who asked Jonathan to reach out to Buhari (after his defeat) may have a sort of agreement that says, in any event, he must not be probed.”

Foreign AffairsWe Have A Plan For Combating Radical Islamic Terrorism - Trump by ojasweb(op): 5:54pm On Aug 15, 2016
Donald Trump on Monday will lay out his strategy for defeating radical Islamic terrorism, painting the fight as an ideological struggle on par with that of the Cold War.

In Ohio, the Republican presidential nominee will lay out proposals to combat ISIS and prevent terrorist attacks in the US, including banning individuals from countries with heavy terrorist footprints where the US government cannot adequately vet visa applicants and increasing cooperation with willing Middle Eastern allies, a senior Trump campaign official said.
Trump is also set to make clear in his prepared remarks that the US will abandon any ambitions for nation-building or spreading democracy in the Middle East, expanding on his criticism of the Iraq War while on the campaign trail.

"We can't always choose our friends, but we know that we have to fight our enemies. We are going to work with anyone in the Middle East who is in agreement with us that ISIS needs to be extinguished," the senior campaign adviser said.
Trump's expected call to work with Muslim allies comes against a backdrop of fierce criticism and condemnation of the Republican candidate from Muslims in the US and abroad since December, when he proposed "a total and complete shutdown of Muslims entering the United States."

Beyond his immigration ban, Trump has also been criticized for suggesting that President Barack Obama is linked to radical Islamic terrorism, floating surveillance of US mosques and proclaiming that he believes "Islam hates us."

The campaign official argued that a clear statement that the US has no intention to "remake the Middle East into one democracy after another at the point of a gun" could encourage further cooperation and assistance from Middle Eastern allies in the fight against ISIS.
Trump's speech on Monday comes as his campaign has faced sagging poll numbers in key swing states in recent weeks, as the Republican nominee has lurched from one controversy to the next. Top Republicans have called on Trump to straighten out his flailing campaign.

Trump's controversial proposal to ban Muslims from the US has been through several iterations, with Monday's speech just the latest to provide a venue for further clarity.
The senior campaign official who previewed Trump's speech did not address Trump's initial description of the ban, but described the current proposal as one of withholding visas for individuals from any country "where we cannot perform adequate screenings" and where there is heavy terrorist activity.
Previously, however, Trump had moved beyond his call to ban all foreign Muslims from the US and proposed barring all individuals from counties "compromised by terrorism" -- though he has not specified which countries match that criterion.

While his campaign staff and surrogates have sought to describe the ban on individuals from terror states as a rollback of Trump's blanket ban on Muslim immigration, Trump recently characterized it on NBC's "Meet the Press" as an "expansion" and has yet to refute his original proposal.
While Trump is not expected to lay out on Monday which countries' citizens would be banned from the US, the senior campaign official offered Syria and Libya as examples of two countries that would be affected by the ban.
The Trump campaign official called on the State Department to release a list of individuals who had obtained visas to the US since 2001 who have since "been charged, implicated or accused of terrorism" in order to determine which countries should be banned.
Trump is also set to call for increased vetting of individuals entering the United States by developing a "test" that would question visa applicants on their support of US values and seek to weed out any supporters of extremist ideologies.

The campaign official specifically noted as an example that "large numbers of people" in Afghanistan "may have attitudes about women or attitudes about Christians or gays that would be considered oppressive, even violent."
"We have no reason to bring someone into our country who is going to harbor that hostility. We want to bring in people who are reformers or who support moderation or who embrace or expand pluralistic ideas," the campaign adviser.
The senior campaign official declined to say exactly what such a test would look like, but said it could include a questionnaire to get potential immigrants on record about their views.
