In the same way that the people vote for their state governors yet a select few of the Judiciary impose who they want, We all know or at least have an idea about what ought to be but before we get there, let us employ the best methods available presently. Any state with problems in its implementation of the NLTP can always review it. Spread the word and let the citizens engage their governors LLMG:
|
There is usually a misconception that writing a lot of words would hide the fact that there is a knowledge gap. You have shown nothing but a bias in the NLTP for if you had ever read a publication on it, you would know that it is a ranch based form of husbandry to be coordinated by the states with just support from the Federal Government. So if there is any anomaly in the way a particular state runs it's own plan, the State governor is whom the buck rests with and not Prof Osinbajo. laura8: |
The persons pushing this story are the same ones, who refused to bulge when we kept educating them that it was a ministerial reallocation and not a sack |
Expectedly, I was fuming after the incident that happened in Sagamu, Ogun state yesterday. First the SARS killed Tiamiyu Kazeem then the police went on to kill three more protesters, all over what? Like everyone else, I took to Twitter and insulted the living daylight out of the police and called for immediate action from the IG of Police but never got a response. Then my nephew told me that I had just vented my anger and wasted my emotional energy without any result. He drew my attention to REPORTGOV. *What Does Reportgov do?* - It is an application that allows you to literally REPORT ALL shortcomings, unprofessionalism and lapses of ANY Government Ministry, Department or Agency (MDAs) through the Presidential Enabling Business Environment Council (PEBEC) *How Does Reportgov Work?* - Download the app (REPORTGOV) through your device download channel – Google Playstore for Android users and Appstore for iOS users. - On launching the app it provides you with a ‘Login’ option (if you have registered once) and a ‘Sign Up’ option for new users. It is the fastest and most unproblematic way to keep all government officials in check and hold them accountable for their actions and/or inactions. No one cheats us now and gets away with it! Don’t vent on the police, customs, immigration, FIRS, VIO, etc on Twitter and Facebook and leave it there, report them on REPORTGOV! |
*Nigeria’s GDP grows by 2.55% in Q4 2019, recording consistent growth since 2017 recession - The latest GDP report by the National Bureau of Statistics today indicates growth in the Nigerian economy during Fourth Quarter of last year - the Q4 2019 and Full Year (FY) 2019. While we welcome the report, it is the determination of the Buhari Administration to continue to drive the economy towards further growth and shared prosperity as we continue our active engagements with States of the Federation in that effort, because as the President said recently “the economy is the most delicate and sensitive of all aspects of national life.” Below is a statement on the development by the Special Adviser to the President on Economic Matters, Dr. Adeyemi Dipeolu: “The Gross Domestic Product (GDP) grew by 2.55% (year-on year), in Q4 2019. This reflects an increase of 0.17% over Q4 2018 (2.38%). This figure is also an increase of 0.27% compared to the preceding quarter (Q3 2019). Aggregate GDP stood at N39.5trillion while in real terms, GDP is at N19.53trillion in Q4 2019. The growth in Q4 2019 is the highest rate since Nigeria came out of the recession in 2017. This feeds into the estimated overall GDP growth for 2019 which is 2.27%. This represents an increase on 2018’s growth rate of 0.36%, and shows an improving trend since the recession, of increasing growth in GDP. The non-oil sector contributed 92.68% to GDP in the period with the oil sector contributing 7.32%. While the oil sector has seen an undulating trend over the past few years, the non-oil sector has a more stable and slightly upward growth trajectory. The non-oil sector’s contribution is on the back of Agriculture 26.1%, Industries 20.27%, and Services 53.64%. In the oil sector, average production was 2million barrels per day (2mbpd) in Q4 2019. The important thing to note is that production remained consistently around this range in 2019. The real growth of the oil sector in Q4 2019 was 6.36% year-on-year (6.49% in Q3 2019). For 2019, the oil sector recorded growth of 4.59% (0.97% in Q4 2018) The non-oil sector grew by 2.26% in real terms in Q4 2019. This is a slight reduction compared with 2.7% in Q4 2018, but higher than 1.82% in the previous quarter. The growth in the non-oil sector is driven by Information and Communication Technology, Agriculture, Manufacturing and Financial and Insurance Services. Agriculture grew by 13.8% in Q4 2019, which is lower than 18.58% and 14.88% recorded in Q4 2018 and Q3 2019. Sector contribution is 22.12% which is higher than recorded in 2018. Real growth in the sector was 2.31% (year-on-year). In Manufacturing, the growth is 26.29% for the period, which is less than 33.57% and 39.69% in Q4 2018 and Q3 2019 respectively. Sector contribution is 11.37%, which is higher than the same period in 2018. Real GDP growth was 1.24% (year on year) The Information and Communication Sector (Telecommunication mainly) recorded growth of 9.86% in the period which is lower than 14.82% and 10.99% in Q4 2019 and Q3 2018 respectively. Sector contribution in 2019 was 10.68% which is higher than the same period in 2018. Real GDP growth was 8.5%. Finance and Services sector grew at 23.3% in nominal terms. This is higher than the preceding quarter and the similar period in 2018. The Sectors annual contribution in 2019 was 2.93%. In real terms, this growth was at 20.18%. Economic growth is reflective of a healthy economy and points to the policies of government towards specific priority sectors. The report shows that Nigeria is growing, even higher than some international analysts had predicted. This growth can be attributed to the robust policies of the government to diversify the economy, renewed security efforts/reduced vandalism of pipelines, and improved consumption/production of local goods (Rice) etc. Overall, the Nigerian economy performed reasonably despite external shocks, internal issues (border closure), tightening of monetary policy, and the Central Bank of Nigeria’s continued defense of the Naira. There is also some improvement expected going forward with less volatility in oil prices, reduced effect of disease on crops (Lassa fever), more support to SMEs, early passage of the budget and continued diversification of the economy.” -Laolu Akande, SSA, to YEMI OSINBAJO |
The machines are coming for our jobs, how prepared are the youth of Nigeria to ensure that they remain relevant in the next decade? |
To claim to be a progressive is one thing, to be that in all aspects of one's everyday life that takes a paradigm shift from being a Nigerian |
I would like to clarify that Laolu Osinbajo is actually a nephew and not a son to VP Yemi Osinbajo. We wish the couple a HML lalasticlala: |
Just when the Federal government institutionalized the scheme so that it can be sustainable, it seems to be going the way of our regular ministries and this is so sad |
Even though people have a print out of the list of the beneficiaries, there will be those who would assume that the list is fake in order to continue to push their narratives. |
Many a man have swum with dolphins but fewer have swum with sharks. There are fewer corridors more slippery to thread than those of Lagos State and the Federal Government and Professor Osinbajo has and is doing so with great aplomb. |
As always, the great act of service in humility as always carried out by Prof Osinbajo leaves people awed at his level of dedication and professionalism |
Sorry to disappoint you but it's apparent that your arm is that of Esau and your voice that of Jacob. Do find time to Google the activities of Yemi Osinbajo next time before you spread misinformation. Even Google says the reason they are doing so well in Nigeria is because of our amiable VP. https://www.google.com/url?q=https://www.pulse.ng/news/local/google-osinbajo-is-the-reason-why-we-are-investing-in-nigeria/dm23bbq&sa=U&ved=2ahUKEwjpqYfBqd7nAhUXRBUIHTqxAIsQFjAAegQICBAB&usg=AOvVaw0MkhhzTfY0eTmkkBEAKZGu Agboriotejoye: |
There will always be that one person who is so confused that a simple comment along the line of discussion is too difficult to manage. Anyways I am in a good mood so how about you visit https://www.instagram.com/p/B8syoQdggy3/ and avail yourself an insight on the achievements of VP Osinbajo in just a week. Please close the door on your way out. Thank you Temptee101: |
once again, the header has been construed to elicit rancor and outpour. The fact that persons still absolve the IG of police while calling for the sack of the service chiefs shows that there is a dearth of knowledge on certain things that prevail the security landscape |
with infrastructural development as well as technical know-how combined with efficient leadership, it would be quite easy to take our place amongst the league of nations. |
It is quite abysmal the rate of bile and vitriol that is allowed and seemingly encouraged on this platform. rather than spreading separationist and secessionist tales, why don't you help everyone and physically remove yourself from the entity called Nigeria along with all your bigot respect? Everyday institutions like Google come around and inform us of how VP Osinbajo is the reason they are thriving and able to impact 3million Nigerians but certain persons are just full of hate meavox: |
Mediocrity can't be hid just as consistent excellence cannot be mistaken for fluke. As for all those who were doubting, I guess you now have proof that the office of VP Osinbajo is no longer supervising the NSIPs |
Can the attention of the moderators be drawn to this humongous fake news that is only seeking to cause resentment at the person of the President? An act which might put NairaLand itself into disrepute. Not only is this the second time that the said post has come up, but their source is shady and it has been proven false when it was first posted.

Nigeria has always had a problem with her maintenance culture, add that to the subversion of public funds by civil servants and what we have is a situation where we are not up to date with technology. Climate change another monster that we are still trying to keep binned just threw a wrench in the weather and now our facilities and instruments are out of date. Hopefully, this serves as a wake-up call to other institutions. PS: All those being completely pessimistic about the Nation especially those who rejoice when bad things happen will surely get their due

Sometimes i guess the moderators themselves have a part to play in maintaining the sanity that goes on here, How you leave on a character with an a name like NigeriaIsDoomed Their trends at going against anything and everything positive is alarming to say the least |
Osinbajo lauds West African surgeons for thousands of free surgeries Given the impressive performance and achievements recorded by Nigerians across diverse fields, at home and abroad, it is evident that many of the country’s problems can be solved by Nigerians themselves without recourse to foreign aid, according to Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, SAN. Prof. Osinbajo said this on Friday when he received a delegation from the West African College of Surgeons (WACS), in his office. (The College formed by a group of young Nigerian surgeons 60 years ago predated the Economic Community of West African States) The delegation led by Prof. Ibrahim Yakasai, mni, was at the Aso Rock Presidential Villa to brief the Vice President about the activities of the College including its planned 60th Annual General Meeting and Scientific Conference scheduled for Abuja. Yakasai is the Local Organising Committee chairman. Speaking after listening to a brief on the achievements of the WACS, the VP said “I am glad to hear the good things that have been done by the college through the years. “I believe that a lot of our problems, some of the aids that we need, can be provided by ourselves. We have the resources including the human capacity to do it.” He thanked the delegation for the visit, assuring the College of the Federal Government’s continued support. Earlier in his remarks, the immediate past President of the College, Prof. King-David Yawe highlighted some of the achievements of WACS especially with regards to free medical outreaches to several Nigerian communities. He said while working with the Presidential Committee on North East (PCNE), the College has conducted 9, 000 surgeries on 49,000 patients in the Northeast with the insurgency in the region, adding that the body was currently conducting free medical outreaches in 14 hospitals across the FCT, some North Central States and Maiduguri. Prof. Yawe added that as part of the 2020 pre-conference events, the College is currently conducting free surgeries in the FCT, Borno and other States, noting that 700 such surgical operations have so far been conducted in the past one week with a target of reaching 1000 before the commencement of the conference. He also said that the outreaches which started 14 years ago include eye surgeries, orthopedic, pediatric & plastic surgeries, brain tumor amongst many others complicated health challenges that otherwise cost patients several millions of Naira, and for which many travel out of the country to treat. Continuing on the activities of the surgeons, Prof. Yawe said the College has accredited training centres in Gombe, Borno and Yobe States. He commended the Buhari administration’s support to the association in partly funding some of its activities and meeting its responsibilities especially in solving its 20-year-old problem regarding a request for land in the FCT. Prof. Yawe informed the VP that the land has been allocated to the College for the establishment of a Skills and Simulation Centre to train surgeons in West Africa in hi-tech surgeries. The leader of the delegation, Prof. Yakasai also informed the VP that the College works in partnership with the ECOWAS and has surgeons from 18 countries with over 7000 fellows across West Africa. The College conducts training, postgraduate education, and research activities While Yawe is the immediate past President of the College, Yakasai told the VP the current President is from Senegal. Consistently working to improve the lives of the youth, the aged, the displaced, Professor Osinbajo duly deserves all the praise he gets for bringing about fantastic policies and initiatives |
The firm has trained three million Nigerians since its pledge to train 10 million people in Africa. Can we all let this information sink in and ask ourselves why we aren't among those 3million and what are we going to have to do to participate with the next 7million? VP Osinbajo upon his return from Silicon valley and helping to set up our own Vibranium Valley has done his part, it is now up to Nigerian youths to maximize these growing opportunities

Google: VP, Education Ministry’s support enabled us to train 3 million Nigerians already, tens of millions forthcoming The Federal Government will support any partnership that addresses literacy and educational challenges including the problem of out of school children and girl child education in Nigeria, according to Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, SAN. Prof. Osinbajo stated this on Thursday when he received on a courtesy visit to the Presidential Villa, a delegation from Google Global Services in the United States. According to him, “it might help if we begin to look at something more in the area of literacy type skills because really, we are looking at how to expand the whole scope of education especially education for girls. “So, the question really is how we can use technology to make it easier for girls, in particular, to go to school, because if we somehow bring education to their doorsteps, it might take care of some of the problems around taking them out of their home environment. According to the Vice President, “for us, our education mandate is so crucial.” Explaining how the Federal Government is partnering with different stakeholders, Prof. Osinbajo said “It is an interesting partnership – business, government, and civil society working together. We are already looking forward to a lot of the great work that will be done.” “All of that fits into our education agenda which partly aims at addressing the out of school children and the girl child education issues.” Speaking on behalf of the Google delegation, Mr. Doron Avni, the firm’s Government Affairs and Public Policy Director described Prof. Osinbajo as an excellent partner whose support had enabled the organization to record remarkable success in Nigeria. According to him, “Obviously, we have an excellent partner here who has been doing God’s work, it is thanks to leading partners like him that we are able to be helpful in communities in which we operate. “We had made a pledge to train 10 million people in Africa by 2022, I am happy to report to you that so far we have trained more than 5 million people. Most important is the fact that out of those 5 million, 3 million are Nigerians. “With the collaboration that we have with the Ministry of Education, we have now integrated some of Google’s curriculum on online safety into the school’s curriculum. So, we will be reaching 56 million students in Nigeria this year.” He then added that the company’s target of training up to 10 million people in Africa by 2022 was realizable. P&G to open new multi-million dollar plant in Nigeria Earlier in the day, Prof. Osinbajo while speaking to a delegation from Procter & Gamble led by its President for the Asia Pacific, Middle East, and Africa, Mr. Suran Magesvaran, said the initiatives of the Buhari administration in the past four years would boost local industries and make them more competitive on the African continent. The Vice President said “We are concerned about making sure that our industries are competitive by fixing power and other infrastructure. We are looking at port operations, trying to connect the port to the Lagos-Kano rail line.” On his part, Mr. Magesvaran announced the company’s plans to set up a new multi-million dollar plant in Nigeria as part of its new investments in Africa.

The security forces can do better, matter of fact they should do better but in spite of that, One thing we all must note is the difficulty with which anyone wins insurgents engaged in guriella warfare. The Americans couldn't do it in Vietnam, trillions of dollars spent and they still haven't been able to do it in Afghanistan. All over Africa and the South American continent, the solution must times was to offer them a place in government. While the President promised to eradicate the menace said as a general, as a President he's realized the extremely high collateral damage that would be incurred by simply leveling an entire state. |
there is surely something that these leaders are unto that the rest of us a slow to latch on to... the sincere willingness to work for the people and his undoubted loyalty to his principal. Admirable qualities if you as me that are usually lacking in most Nigerian politicians |
the reason for the release of certain Boko Haram members has been routinely discussed but let me try and shed a little light on it. Not all BH members are willing participants in the war; 1) some of them were captured and armed to act as fodder 2) some of them were forced to join under threat of murder of their siblings 3) Some joined due to peer pressure for the above classes of individuals, it is pretty easy to rehabilitate them as they usually turn on their captors and provide a lot of useful information that the Armed Forces can then use for countermeasures. these persons usually tend to surrender of their own volition as against the real hardened criminals who believe that dying while fighting is some form of martyrdom. These ones will never be released as they are made to face the full wrath of the law. FrLukas: |
Even the Bible was very explicit: A man of Impecible character will dine with Kings. VP Osinbajo has been known to rever our traditional rulers as he is also always trying to get them on board as relates to the security of the citizenry within their locales. |
Sometimes the comments of others sends you back online to do a little more research on that which you already know. What hurts the most is that the internet is available to all yet people refuse to avail themselves of it. Cosmatikka:

A lot of time we as a people are quick to forget the strides that were gained when VP Osinbajo was the Acting President. He commanded the entire service chiefs on the 27th of July, 2017 to relocate to the battlegrounds of the North East and even the Naval chief did not hesitate to resume there within 48hrs.
