Are we talking about Africa or Nigeria? I assume you're talking about Nigeria so i'm gonna say not really, for the most part. For the most part, African (Nigerian) parenting is really just instilling fear instead of raising a child to become a productive adult but that's just my perspective.

Good Morning Nairalanders, I have to be on Tin Can Island this wednesday but have no idea on fastest route to get there. What's the quickest way to get there from Surulere? Is there a boat I can take also as I want to avoid the Apapa traffic. All options/advice would be appreciated. Thanks

Easy come, easy go. For the most part (because there are exceptions to the rule), when money is quick, for people like this all they think of is wake up, steal, food, drink, clothes, phones, olosho, sleep and repeat in that exact same order. They think such "good times" last forever hence why investments and "stopping" is like speaking chinese to them.
