modestofynest: That is so true, lemme sight an example of this illustration. On Saturday been the 28 of January pastor David Ibiyomie of salvation ministry came to my school Niger Delta University in Bayelsa state for a one day visit, now the church coordinators told us to put money in an envelope for papa's visit, imagine this is a state that most of the student here are starved on daily basis because their parents have not been paid salaries for more than 8 months now and are just managing, wr u expect them to get money to give the pastor, instead of the pastors to buy bags of rice full trailer come share for student, dey are busy lukn for more ways to extort more from them. Finally I didn't attend the program because of that singular reason. As in what is the church turning into . It's simple, why didn't you ask if the order to contribute money was from Ibiyeome. I thought you were smart. He won't stoop so low as to ask for stipend contributions from you. You should have gone to the program and ask Ibiyeome If he did. |

Apple1992: Christians are known for doing some good things: helping the poor, feeding the hungry, caring for the sick, uplifting the downtrodden, fighting for justice and many other feats of love. But Christians also own a poor reputation for numerous bad habits. Here are six things we must stop doing
BEING JUDGEMENTAL
One of the few sins Jesus repeatedly warns His followers not to do is be judgmental. Despite this, many Christians mistakenly assume that withholding judgment is a form of accepting, condoning and even affirming sin. But judgment from Christians doesn’t determine whether a particular belief, action or lifestyle is either wrong or righteous in the eyes of God.
PREDICTING THE FUTURE
The Gospel message of Christ’s love is often overshadowed by misguided Christians who make predictions and “prophecies” about political affairs, planetary alignments, environmental phenomena, current events, natural disasters, the Antichrist, End Times and the Apocalypse.
POSTING GARBAGE ON SOCIAL MEDIA
The clickbait links, offensive political memes, self-righteous condemnations of others, bitter theological rants, and out-of-context Bible excerpts cause more harm than good. Posting vitriolic, superficial, and offensive content on our Facebook feeds and Twitter accounts doesn’t glorify God. Before posting anything, stop and think: “Is this true, helpful, inspiring, necessary and kind?”
BEING HYPOCRITICAL
It’s easy to talk about God, argue theological issues and post about faith issues on all sorts of communication platforms. But in order to follow Christ, we are required to actually put our words into actions. As the old adage goes, we must practice what we preach.Unfortunately, too many Christians talk about Christ’s love without actually being loving. Meanwhile, the rest of world witnesses this obvious contradiction and simply stops listening.
OVERCOMPLICATING THE LOVE OF JESUS
There comes a point, unfortunately, in the Christian journey when many start to feel bored, unfulfilled and dissatisfied with the unglamorous task of loving others. It’s very hard work to follow Jesus. It requires sacrifice, humility, service, patience, forgiveness and lots of love. It can be tempting—and much easier—to focus on specific parts of the Bible that don’t require as much endurance, are more flashy, will draw more attention and will instill a greater sense of excitement. So some of us create a “Christian” platform that becomes our passion. A political agenda, social cause, moral practice or specific theological belief can become central to our faith—overtaking Jesus’ command to love others as yourself. Thus, we get people who will practically fight to the death over things such as Calvinism, infant baptism and various other causes and doctrines. In and of themselves these things aren’t necessarily bad—everyone has their own convictions about theological issues—but when things are prioritized above Christ’s love, it leads to idolization.
BEING CLOSEMINDED
The problems listed above are often caused by being closed-minded not considering, acknowledging or even dialoguing with the infinite amount of diverse factors that exist beyond our own limited experiences.
HAPPY SUNDAY ALL. Lalasticlala, mynd44. . Lots of you jump to criticize Christians when you see post like this. Remove the planks from your eyes before criticizing. You are not a Christian but always the first to throw stones. What do you call that? Leave us to worry about ourselves and the places of worship we go to . |

Politics › Re: Forget Your University Certificates, Go Back To Farm – Aregbesola by Okies27(m): 1:55pm On Jan 16, 2017 |
Lautechgossip: Governor Rauf Aregbesola of Osun have charged university graduates to dump their certificates and go back to farm, urging them to see agriculture as viable alternative to white collar job.
The governor said the call was necessary due to the menace of unemployment among Nigerian youths.
Aregbesola gave the charge while delivering a speech at the 6th Convocation Ceremony of Fountain University, Osogbo, adding that the present economic situation has shown Nigerians the need to encourage farming as the only alternative to crude oil.
He explained that there was no aspect of life that could do without agriculture, saying Nigerian graduates must henceforth stop searching for formal jobs that realistically remained elusive.
He called for productivity, resilience and hard-work among Nigerians, stressing that the present nation’s economy demands one to be self-employed.
Aregbesola noted that there is no other alternative to sustain Nigerian economy than to build and encourage requisite interest in agriculture and brace up with anything that could promote food security.
The governor maintained that all Nigerians, as a matter of urgency should invest in things that would enhance farming in the next five years if truly the nation was ready to overcome her present economic challenges.
Lamenting the glut in the global oil market, which has brought about dwindling revenues to all tiers of government, Aregbesola emphasised the need for massive participation in agriculture.
“There is need for us , especially our young graduand’s to lead the nation in promoting agriculture as the only realistic surviving alternative to economy.
“We must not but embrace farming because it is only agriculture that has direct links to all aspects of life.
“Nigeria has grown to the stage through which her food production capacity must be urgently expanded to meet the general needs of the citizenry and as well enhance exportation.
“The time to enhance productivity has come. We must all embrace productivity. We must produce whatever we desire to consume”, he added.
Congratulating the graduating students, Aregbesola charged them to adapt to the virtues they acquired from the institution. He called on them to get prepared for the challenges ahead and life after university which he described as “challenging.”
“You must all prepare the challenges ahead especially at this period of over saturated tendencies of labour market. You need grim determination to succeed. You must be rational and critical in the application of the knowledge you have acquired”.
Aregbesola appealed to those who are perpetrating violence and criminality in the name of Islam to have a rethink, using the precious and reputable saying, “violence is directly antithetical to Islam.”
Earlier in his lecture, Professor Abubakar Rasheed, who is the Executive Secretary of National Universities Commission(NUC)and the Guest Speaker at the event charged both private and public organisations in the country on the need to invest more in education.
He said the country has gone to a stage where education should be seen by all as a bedrock for national development, hence calls for the need to encourage participation in both basic and higher education.
He implored stakeholders in the private and public institutions in the country to rescue the nation from her present education backwardness as a matter of urgency, by establishing more universities.
Meanwhile, in his remarks, the Acting Vice Chancellor of the University, Professor Abdullateef Usman called for better funding of university education.
He said the country can only develop if proper attention is given by all towards the provision of quality education.
Prof. Usman called on government to further invest in education, saying doing this would save the country and as well serve as panacea to economic growth and development.
“Our governments must do more in educating citizens who are expected to pilot the future affairs of the nation.
“If we really want to develop capacity in quality education and churning out graduates equipped with required virtues, thus no stone must be left unturned in ensuring better and adequate funding.
“The governments are expected to do the needful by earmarking better funds to support education both in terms of academic infrastructures and finances”.
Prof. Usman congratulated the 128 graduating students, advised them to multiply the virtues acquired in the university as they go into the new world of challenges.
http://www.kikiotolu.com/2017/01/forget-your-university-certificates-go.html .. Agriculture is a mainstay in developed climes. We need certificates n infrastructures to reach their level. It's clear our govt don't know what it takes to reach their level and the research needed via education to attain such agricultural development. They only think agriculture is for the unlearned. |

I AM A WOMAN!!! -
So what? I get into an argument with a man, he slaps me, I feel the pain, yet they tell me I provoked him. I should have been quiet, I should have been patient. I should apologize to him.
I get into an argument with a man, I slap him, they tell me I have no respect, no home training. I should have been quiet, I should have been patient. I should apologize to him.
Because I am a woman, I don't have a right to be angry. So, the degree of my innocence is directly proportional to the degree of my silence in the face of oppression and brutality.....
Because I am a woman, my husband cheats on me, I am told to tolerate it to save my marriage. The barbaric and stupid excuse is that ''it is in their nature to cheat, I should slim down, dress better, cook better, pray harder and be more pleasant to him"
I cheat, and I am called a LovePeddler, I have committed an abomination, I have no right to look elsewhere for the love and emotional support I lack at home, I am an irresponsible mother.
So I am sent packing, from the home we both built, with all my earthly possessions stuffed into a tiny box on my head. I am henceforth forbidden from seeing my two older children, I'm lucky to be allowed to go with my little one still suckling on my left breast. Three years later, the little one is tagged a bastard. Now, my new name is "after-three", because I am a woman.
He is 28 and runs a company. He's tagged wonderful, hardworking, focused, career oriented, successful at a very young age.
I am 28 and I run a company " Hmmmm, she is not even married, unserious, can not order her priorities right, a hustler, loves money, let her go and get a husband oh" And I wonder if being successful has anything to do with a person's gender.
Because I am a woman, I am not allowed to have wits or be a prodigy, I cannot be financially buoyant, professionally successful or be treated with respect without a man beside me.
Then I am tagged a generous leg opener, "a runs girl". They never see the possibility that I actually had to go through ups and downs to get to where I am. Because I am a woman.
A man looses his wife to death and remarries a year after, he did the right thing, he's being praised and congratulated for moving on, afterall life is for the living.
A woman looses her husband to death and remarries after 4yrs, "ahhh! so early? Are u sure she wasn't sleeping with that man even when her husband was alive? That was why she killed her husband. She's a witch! " Because she's a woman.
Because I am a woman, this post will be considered controversial, and everyone will try to correct me. But don't forget, that I am a woman and it does not make me less human!!! Happy new year. . Why not write about many things women are in this country... Gynecologist, Engineering, Teachers, Lawyers, Politicians, Professors etc. Professionals in all works of life and they are married with happy homes. These are women too. |

overcomer123: How do couples with different spending patterns cope
my partner is driving me crazy, we have been fighting about everything that has to do with money, she is kinda of lavish and i am prudent. It is really frustrating, she sees me as a miser. She has this idea the higher the cost the more quality, but i know this is not necessary the case. at least from experience, i know how people inflate prices , i try to spend on actual value. I have sat her down and explained to her. How we should nt waste, she promises to change but next thing she is back to the basics.
I also think i may be partially responsible for this, during our courtship, i use to lavish her with very expensive gifts. which to me shd nt be a crime, I wasnt spending beyond my means and there is nothing wrong in giving your woman some exclusive treats once in a while what now bothers me is she expects the cinderella story will continue forever.
There was a day the argument got so intense, she began to say very uncool stuff, on hw she know i hate spending on her and always complain. i really felt hurt. She never looks at the big picture, it is always the most expensive stuff she wants, whenever we do anything.
Our counseling was rushed and proper attention wasnt given to finances and all, everyone just believes she is a well behaved girl. We just got married, I really dont know how i missed this earlier during courtship, but it really causing alot of whahala in our home. The funny part is most of this so called expenses are usually to be solely footed by me. My wife has not for one day called me to say she too will contribute this amount for this or that. I dont complain, or expect, where i have problem is when i decide to pay and she complains it is nt good enough. Am sure if her money was involved she would understand what i mean.
Currently i earn more than her, i found a temporary solution which is to keep her out of the financial decisions, Whenever. i want to buy stuff for the house I dont consult her anymore, i just go and buy the stuff and return home showing her i bought it, instead of the normal asking her which is better and she picks and we begin to fight and argue. This is temporal and actually not the best but what can i do? The fights are just getting to me.
When we started i used to expose her to how much I had and all and plans to maybe get a land and all and maybe start bulding. She knows how much i earn and all. but i dont think she is matured to handled some of these things. And i guess cos she knows of the money available (my saivngs) this is why she just goes for the most expensive and all and just acts lavish.
I had to lie to her that i was scammed of several of millions through MMM to make her forget about the available cash.
Just imagine the rubbish i have to go through.
See me see whahala , me and my own wife again.
Is anyone dating a partner with an opposite spending habit.
Can you share and let me learn how you overcame this problem. . Business › Re: CBN Fails To Print Lesser Naira Denominations In One Year by Okies27(m): 9:10am On Dec 31, 2016 |
Chukwu94: The Central Bank of Nigeria has not printed small naira denominations for about a year now, causing the scarcity of the notes in the economy, the News Agency of Nigeria reports. Sources at the CBN hinted that for a year now, the apex bank had not awarded contracts for the printing of the notes such as N5, N10, N20 and N50, which was usually done abroad. NAN gathered that the recently printed notes in circulation, N200, N500 and N1,000, were produced by the Nigerian Security Printing and Minting Plc. The NSPM produces currency notes and coins for the CBN and a wide range of security documents for the federal, state and local government establishments, commercial banks and blue chip companies. According to the NSPM website, the company has the ability to print over 40 million notes weekly. However, the sources said the high cost of printing banknotes was the reason the apex bank did not give out contracts for their production. “The cost of printing N50 is almost the same as N1,000. Printing small denominations costs more than the value, and with the present economic situation, it makes sense to print higher notes, which can be done locally by the NSPM,” one of the sources explained. A worker at First Bank of Nigeria Limited told NAN that throughout the festive season, there were hardly smaller currency notes to give to customers. The worker, who spoke on the condition of anonymity, said, “We usually request for cash from the CBN through our Cash Management Centre, but recently, we have not been able to get mints of N100 and below. “We had N50 at one point but it wasn’t in the quantity we are used to getting. We have been telling our customers who call to request for mints that the smallest currencies they can get is N200.” A political economist, Mr. Jude Ndukwe, said the implication of the situation was that prices of goods were likely to increase since there were no smaller currencies in circulation. He said, “A bread seller is likely to increase the cost of bread from N350 to N400 simply because he does not want to deal with the difficult task of getting change. “The same goes for a bus conductor and so forth. This act alone is enough to add to the hardship of the average Nigerians; N10 or N50 may not mean anything to some, but it means a whole lot to millions of Nigerians living in poverty. So the government should do something about this.” But the Acting Director, Corporate Communications, CBN, Mr. Isaac Okorafor, denied the allegation that the apex bank had not contracted the printing of smaller denomination currencies since 2015. He stated, “There is no scarcity of smaller denomination notes in the market. People are complaining because we did not make provision for mints to be supplied in smaller denominations during the festive season. “You see, people are fond of abusing these denominations by spraying them to be stepped on during weddings and other ceremonies. The abuse is even worse during the festive season; so, we decided to make scarce the denominations. But it’s not that we have not been printing them. “Yes, we haven’t printed abroad but we also print locally, which we have been doing.” When asked the last time Nigeria actually had the smaller denominations printed, Okoroafor promised to get the details. He reiterated that it was a crime to hawk or sell mint notes in the country, saying there was an enforcement committee comprising the CBN and the security agencies to check the menace and arrest culprits. Okorafor said that the CBN was collaborating with the police to ensure that Nigerian currencies were not abused. Copyright PUNCH.

aminulive: Fulani herdsman slices off farmers hand and ear
Attacks him on his own farm
Saved by soldiers from angry mob
In Idah, a Fulani herdsman narrowly escaped mob-justice on Monday, Dec 12 for allegedly cutting off a farmer’s hand and ear.
It was learnt that the herdsman led his cattle to Mr Okpanachi’s cassava farm leading to disagreement between the duo. The herdsman allegedly attacked Okpanachi and cut-off his hand and ear clean off in the process. The herdsman then proceeded to hand over his cattle to another herdsman and made efforts to run out of town.
While waiting for the cab he boarded at the popular Ibro Park to take-off, drivers at the park became curious with the herdsman’s behavior which led to questions and a full body search. A human hand was discovered in the herdsman’s bag and the crowd descended on him before soldiers came to the scene to rescue him from the mob.
It was later discovered that the human hand is that of Mr. Okpanachi. Residents are still enraged and are calling for justice.

The argument pple come with is were are the Levites to pay to. We want to enjoy Abraham blessings but don't want to do what he did. He paid his tithe. God said thru his seed the earth shall be blessed. In Malachi, God commanded us to bring our tithes to his house n those who don't shall be cursed. It's foolhardy to be ignorant of proofs of paying tithes. We question what churches use tithe for instead of being obedient. Read Malachi n see benefits of Tithing. You obey commands. Christianity Etc › Re: Three Sacred Things We Christians Abuse. by Okies27(m): 10:07am On Dec 11, 2016 |
RoyalGoat: As rightly called, Christians are not the only worshipper of God; the Jews are as well. And going by the channel of the revelation of God to humanity there are many things, sacred things Christians abuse in the name of faith. And though these things are not repercussive, yet, they spell our ignorance about the element of our religion, if one would be hypocritic about it, faith.
THE NAME OF JESUS: I was invited to a night vigil sometimes two years ago. Vividly I can remember the pastor honourably prophet asking us to shout the name of Jesus six hundred times. Well people shouted, I shouted then.
While this may not be the same for all churches, but I have come to notice something close in every churches: the repetition of Christ names before, during, and after prayer. This is not supposed to be so. The name Christ is meant to be reverenced. Ask in my name doesn't mean abuse my name. So far so good, miracles done in the name of Christ in the Apostles were done not shouting in Jesus name. In and fact, the first act of prayer done by the Apostle had no "in Jesus name' in it. They simply prayed, and the Spirit tendered the prayer in the name of Christ.
Every believer has what God called a seal on him, in that, when you communicate with God the seal do so in the reverenced name of Christ. Joining people to shout in Jesus name therefore may be extraneous or quite unnecessary.
THE BLOOD OF JESUS: Maybe it's ignorance I can't say or lack of foundational knowledge about what the great sacrifice is all about. The blood of Christ sanctifies. And if we are willing to go deep into deep things, it protects but not the protection we Christians assumed for it.
The blood as a means of protection, is a shield not only for humans but as well for angels to prevent them and us falling into apostasy now, and in the world to come. It is by credibility of the blood Michael will be able to defeat Lucifer in the second heavens, because by virtue of the blood, all God angels including Michael are immune to Lucifer seduction. Defeating them by the blood doesn't mean they will be shouting "I cover you in the blood of Jesus."
TITHING: It may not be that obvious, but tithing is sure a sacred thing as far as God is concerned. But well so well not what Christians understand it to be.
Tithes are meant to be paid by farmers and farmers alone in the then land of Israel. This is because the Levite had no land to cultivate, no portion was giving to them. So speaking, to do what God as always wanted for humanity, he commanded a tenth of 'farmers' produce to be given to the Levite so as to prevent lack in the land. The Levite had no land to cultivate, but our pastors to be do. They have places to work.
Payment of tithes in churches should serve a means of providing for everyone's need in the church. This, the apostles understood by distributing every thing the church had to every members. To live and survived, the apostles like every one else, worked with their very hands.
Of course there are more, but these ones concern us the most. We have the prophets, Psalms and the law, let's read them and learn the truth for ourselves instead of disgracing ourselves and God. And if we fall into the 'grace only' category, then let us study the acts of the early church and save ourselves from this modern hypocrisy.
CC: OAM4J . It baffles how people like you with little or no knowledge of biblical mystery write about God's word. The good thing is, you can ask the Holy Spirit to teach you cos from your write I can tell it's either you are one off Christian or lack proper understanding. When Christ, he didn't abolish tithing but said it shd be done properly without neglecting other weightier issue. Because the pharisees were hypocritical. Christ came to fulfill the law. As for calling the name of Jesus , you need to be properly taught. As long as it's called vainly, u can call as million time. It's a name given above all name that all principalities bow to. When it comes to worldly things like clubbing all night n singing songs, u don't get tired but when it's church things, you create "barriers" in ur mind by saying the extent certain Christian mysteries must be done. The blood of Jesus is a mystery true believers understand. Some believers won't even take communion, which is the blood of Jesus. Jesus said as often as you take it... Requires a clean mind, u just ask for mercy genuinely and u take it. Some churches will say only full members or communicants shd take it, that isn't Christ teaching. My brother, you can plead the blood of Jesus a zillion time as long as you are praying. I urge to go to a church that teaches the word so you can be enlightened by God's word. Don't sit in your home and act like you know the Bible. |

Christianity Etc › Re: Why I'm Convinced That No One Will Make Heaven, Be You A Christian Or A Pagan by Okies27(m): 8:47am On Dec 05, 2016 |
NinjaX: One of the greatest mystery of the century that man has yet to unravel is the big question of what happens after death.
This question is so mind-boggling that over the years it has been accorded different answers by people from various walks of life.
So far so good, none of the speculations has been confirmed as true. And since no-one has journeyed to the land of the spirits and successfully came back on evidence, I believe I can safely assert from a resolute postion that none hold claims to possession of such knowledge in this regard.
However, for the purpose of the thread, using the Christian religion as a yardstick, let's assume heaven does exist, likewise hell.
Therefore, if heaven really exist, the question follows that what then is the ticket a person must possess in order to become an eligible candidate?
Allow me to quote from the bible at this point.
Matthew 5:20 (King James Version)
For I say unto you, That except your righteousness shall exceed the righteousness of the scribes and Pharisees, ye shall in no case enter into the kingdom of heaven.
Summarily explaining the above verse, you must be RIGHTEOUS according to God's standard of righteousness.
According to the bible, righteousness is when one is absolutely devoid of sin. And sin can take any form - your physical actions, words and thought.
In conclusion, therefore, you must guard these 3 parts of you from sin so you can be sure of making heaven when the last trumpet sounds.
Now, here's why I believe it's more easier for me to jump into the air, visit the comfort station, have a short picnic and pen a short story while still in mid-air before landing, than for you to eschew sin completely.
I'll shift focus to the mind which is where thoughts are formed, because it is the most difficult of the three things I mentioned to put in check. My keen observation and findings have revealed that the mind, at no given point in time, can ever maintain a pure state in totality. You see a well-endowed damsel while plodding the streets, already you are having ideas. You see someone whom nature cheated facially, you say in your mind without speaking out, "damn! That guy is really ugly."
And. . . . . . . Even if you confess your sins away at church, new ones will take position almost immediately. Even before you breath your last on your death bed, you'd conceive wrong thoughts just in time before you die without wanting to. It's like a reflex action. You cannot hold it to a leash. It just happens. Unless of course you are an inanimate object, but then again, objects have no feelings at all. It's like someone telling you to keep your eyes open yet instructs that you not look at anything. And then asks you, what do you see? How does that sound? "Kukuma" kill me already biko.
And this is close to what God requires from us. The sheer complication and complexity of it all. Trying to think this through can just drive a person insane.
ALSO, the biblical God exhibits a system of rule I'd like to term "arbitrary", where he solely determines the do's and don'ts.
Come to think of it, even emperors, kings, queens, rulers, in a fair system, are subject to the laws they use to govern their subordinates. If and when they (these rulers), fall short, they are confronted with those set laws.
But amazingly, It's forbiddingly not so in God's case. He's all supreme. You cannot challenge nor question his decisions. What he says is final. Yet God prides himself fairer than all.
Okay, imagaine if our dear president, Muhammadu Buhari is the God we are talking about, just try to picture what would happen. . .
Here's what I surmised:
- Fulani Herdsmen would kill thousands with boundless impunity.
- Favouritism will be the norm.
- He could send lightening to strike you for criticising him on social media even.
I hope now, after some sober reflection, the implications have dawned on you? Are you kidding me? We would be done for in that event.
Lastly, even though you somehow manage to scale through the hurdle of sin, which I think is a dead impossible feat to achieve, there's still the inescapable problem of the big bad guy having to conclude your final fate.
My dear ladies and gentlemen, the above reasons are why I strongly suggest that we do away with the thought that heaven is "makeable".
It's either this Christian God never wanted us to share his paradise with him in the first place, or he's plain confused, or we are his little experiment to fight boredom, [b]or it's high time we started acknowledging that everything about the Christian religion is indeed what it rightly is - nothing more than a fictitious sensational tale intended to thrill but was rather badly written. . True Christians have God's word written in their hearts which has become the tablet. The Holy Spirit in you empowers for righteous living. Give your life to Christ and see how he transforms you. To them that are outside everything is in parable. You can live a sin free life cos God's Word is able to renew your mind and you are no longer conformed to the dictates of this world like the pharisees were. |

emusmithy: 15 Ways Shy Girls Act Towards Their Crush (Images)
It’s commonly said that ladies are often inhibited than the male folks. How true! There is hardly a girl who isn’t guilty when it comes to comporting herself when a crush is around. However, there are a few who don’t consider it a big deal flirting with the guy giving them sleepless nights.
They walk up to him and say how they are feeling at the moment and that ends it. Quiet girls would rather die than make the first move. Even when they try, it’s usually filled with embarrassing moments. How sad! I want to share some of them with you:
1. Wait till eternity for him to talk to you even if you are dying inside Most times, she acts stern just to get his attention. Other times, she brings up a topic she knows must get his contribution, maybe in a small group meeting still to hear his voice. And when eventually he speaks, you are like…blushing...
https://topyaps.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/11/Blushing1.gif
2. Stare at your crush until they notice you, then look away really quickly and act like you don’t know they exist. One lady once told me, if I like a guy, I make life miserable for him. I ignore him like hell. This is an epitome;
https://cdn2.gurl.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/12/awkward-gif.gif
3. Act weird and strange when before their crush. When she begins to act like she is crazy by asking random questions or walking away in the midst of a convo, look at this picture again; https://topyaps.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/11/Acting-weird.gif
4. They are always battling with the urge to say Hi to him
Being shy, they often overcome such temptation. All along she was like...
https://topyaps.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/11/Battling-the-urge.gif
5. They literally like all his social media activities and it's from there they track him
Guys, you've got a monitoring spirit who knows you better than most of your friends...
https://topyaps.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/11/Like-all-social-media-activity.gif
6. They get butterflies meeting him personally but not when chatting
While chatting, she is like some Nairalanders; Lionesses!
https://topyaps.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/11/Text-chatting.gif
7. Shy girls are good planners
They don't want to sound stupid when talking to him so they plan out what topics to bring up and what time to bring them up.
https://topyaps.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/11/Packed-planners.gif
8. Whether intentionally or not, if their arms brush against their crush’s, they will rejoice for days and sometimes months.
I'm a guy but I've been there.
https://topyaps.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/11/Arms-brush-against.gif
9. They chat boldly with every guy BUT not with the one they are crushing
Open with other guys but numb before him.
https://topyaps.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/11/Interacting-with-any.gif
10. Tell everyone how you feel about your crush, except him.
https://cdn4.gurl.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/12/aquamarine.gif
11. Only send him true feelings through text.
https://cdn3.gurl.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/12/texting-gif.gif
12. Refuse to flirt until you are quite sure he is flirting with you
That moment when you just met and she's watching your steps and don't wanna look cheap or hungry for a boyfriend...
https://cdn2.gurl.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/12/shy-kitten.gif
13. Hold eye contact for a while because you read you should do that then feeling awkward about it
https://cdn4.gurl.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/12/eye-contact-gif.gif
14. Go places you know he will be at, not really stalking him but hoping you might get to talk with him.
https://cdn4.gurl.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/12/jack-sparrow.gif
15. Fidget like a manic when talking to him/her, whether you’re tapping your feet, stammering, playing with your hair, or cracking your knuckles.
This is the surest and most common sign a shy girl sends to her crush.
https://cdn2.gurl.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/12/playing-with-hair-gif.gif

9PBLIVE: Thank you Chief Olusegun Obasanjo for bringing mobile telephone in Nigeria during your regime.
Thank you Dr. Goodluck Ebele Jonathan for creating a conducive business environment for telecommunication companies which makes it possible for both the poor and the rich to have mobile phones even with those living in the bush, to call and browse the Internet. Under your regime, we enjoy cheap calls and cheap data plans that enable us to browse the Internet and also interact with your government. We no longer go to the phone booth to make calls. Though the Golden Freedom you gave us was used against you.
Thank you Buhari for reversing us back to the phone booth from December 1st. Thank you for denying us the freedom of accessing the Internet through affordable data plans and charges to interact with your government. Thank you for taking away the Joy and Happiness of Nigerians and giving them Sorrow as they can no longer go to the market, and may not be able to recharge their mobile phones and also get some free data to access the Internet.

Celebrities › Re: Vector Writes A Letter Of Warning To The Federal Government by Okies27(m): 11:28am On Nov 30, 2016 |
lewispius: Prolific Nigerian rapper Vector is showing off his displeasure with the incumbent government.
The “King Kong” crooner is currently unhappy about how the present government is “running things”. Hence, Vector took his ire to the social media. The rapper penned a lengthy epistle warning the federal government about it’s latest intentions to hike the cost of data and use of the internet.
Vector is of the opinion that an increase in the cost of internet data plans will hamper the burgeoning music industry, which is perhaps the most productive sector of the economy in present times.
Read his thoughts below:
Dear federal government, You have come a long way with your policies and rule. You have concerned yourself with nothing but the present hence making it look like the constitution has to be remixed and renamed “Your WILL” before your demise. You have ignored the children you saw grow and focused on the ones from your sperm cells and ovulation that you aren’t seeing grow because they have been shipped off to “better grounds” for eductaion. You have put your wives in other rooms BUT that of improtance forgetting (if you married a good woman) they balance you when you go astray. You have failed to embrace the spirit and letter of the Almighty you worship be it any religion. You have failed the man you see in d mirror because he isnt a beast or metaphysical beign you don’t understand. No, He is the posterboy/girl for greed. You have forgotten how you felt when you were coming up but remember this… you will not forget how you fall. Your money… my bad… our money you take will shame you when you need it the most. The hustling are finding ways to be better but you just want to take from them without giving back. You focus on chasing thieves but never focus on securing the vault they steal from. In the hsitory of our existence as a generation, we have never gotten levelled platforms to play as we have gotten with the internet. The people have become more exposed to business ideas, global news, information sharing from continent to continent between seconds. Industry has gotten global awareness because of this. Music has started to look better just because with data you can put up your craft be it music or painting or write ups or poems or comedy or pets or life to make people happy in a steady sinking world of frustrating conflicting governance and hustle. You concern yourself with your percieved negatives over the objective positives. You are killing the future of Nigeria. You are killing the future of Nigeria. Internet is almost free in a lot of “advanced” countries too. Be careful Nigeria… don’t ruin yourself. DON’T!!!

Politics › The Truth About Subsidy. by Okies27(op): 11:41am On May 19, 2016 |
FACT FINDING....! Just got this from a genuine source and thought it wise to share with my good friends:
Former petroleum minister Prof Tam David West breaks down his analysis of the falsehood behind the fuel subsidy that has only enriched a few rich and selfish individuals in Nigeria. See insightful details.
1) One barrel of Crude oil = 42 gallons or 159 litres
2) Our Refineries (i.e 4) Installed (combined) capacity = 445,000 barrels per day
3) Actual refineries capacity due to ageing equipment = 30% i.e. 133,500 barrels per day.
4) 133,500 barrels = 21.2 million litres
5) Local required consumption (F.O.S) = 12millions litres
6) It means that even our MORIBOND refineries can actually meet our local consumption need of petroleum.
7) The cost structure of crude oil (i.e. Qua Iboe Crude Oil) production; – Findings / development – $3.5 – Production cost – $1.5 – Refining Cost – $12.6 – Pipeline/transportation – $1.5 – Distr/bridging fund Margin -$15.69 True cost of one litre of petroleum anywhere in Nigeria; – Total sum cost = $34.8 – 1ltr cost = $34.8/159 litres = $0.219 – Naira equiv. 0.219xN160= N35.02k – Add Tax N5 + N35.02 = N40.02 9) Let FGN refute the above composition and if not, they should tell us how they came about N95/N85 litre.
10) Locally refined products cannot be sold at International price.
11) We really do not need FGN SUBSIDY as there was NONE in the first place.
12) What is LACKING, is the WILL to enforce LAW ON CORRUPTION.

haywire07: I don't really need to start explaining the importance of tithing. Of course we all know paying tithe of every income is necessary but I attend a church where every tithe you pay is recorded in a tithe book with a your name boldly written on it . The motive behind it is definitely not for show off but I don't feel convenient with the fact that the deacons who will count the money would know how much and how regularly I pay my tithe. Secondly, we tithers are asked to come out every with our tithe book for prayers before dropping it in d tithe box. I feel shy doing that , especially when I think of those girls who will be like "hmmmm, haywire don dey pay tithe , d guy don get money b dat" .. I feel so inconvenient. The truth is, I've been unable to pay my tithe for a while now, though the cash is intact .
Today is Sunday again and am still bothered.
Thanks . I think some churches do it to keep their own record straight since they also pay tithe to some other church. I check my tithe booklet to see how consistent n how much i have paid. NLs can argue alot: A true christian who pays tithe still gives to his parents and less privilege. Basically, tithe card is for record keeping for both the church and titber. |
Politics › Re: Nigeria Would Have Collapsed If Jonathan Had Defeated Buhari In 2015 – Sagay by Okies27(m): 8:24pm On May 06, 2016 |
DONSMITH123: Chairman of the Presidential Advisory Committee on War Against Corruption, Prof. Itse Sagay (SAN), Thursday declared that Nigeria would have completely collapsed like Zimbabwe had former President Goodluck Jonathan won the 2015 presidential election. The radical lawyer while expressing his disappointment at the level of corruption that reigned during the administration of Jonathan, said by now the country would have been under the yoke of ferocious economic disaster if the President Muhammadu Buhari administration had not emerged.
Sagay made this stand in Abuja at the anti-corruption summit organized by the Open Society Initiative for West Africa, in conjunction with ONE Africa to brainstorm on issues ahead of the May 12 global anti-corruption summit in London.
While lamenting that corruption was fighting back in Nigeria very vigorously to frustrate the current anti-corruption war of the Buhari administration, he disclosed that those fighting back were corrupt Nigerians with huge war chest at their disposal.
Sagay said: “Given the unrestrained stealing and the enormous economic pillage under the Jonathan administration, it is not a surprise that the Nigerian economy is lying prostrate. The present administration needs time to fill in the big holes that were left by the previous administration.
“It is, therefore, irrational for anybody with perverse mentality to say that they should bring back corruption. The truth is if Jonathan had won the 2015 election, by now Nigeria would have completely become a failed state like Zimbabwe with huge inflation rate of N10 billion, or probably all of us would have to carry our little belongings to seek refuge in neighbouring countries.
“Nigeria would have witnessed a ferocious economic disaster if the Buhari administration had not emerged. All that is going on now is the rebuilding process of the economy that was so destroyed by the previous administration. Those praying for the return of Jonathan should thank God for not answering their prayers because it would have been a terrible nightmare.
“We must be patient and rational in our thinking for the inevitable change of the Buhari administration to come. It will surely come, but it is not a magic wand.”

Politics › Re: Buhari’s Economic Policies “opaque, Archaic” – Oby Ezekwesili by Okies27(m): 2:45pm On Apr 30, 2016 |
STFUand4kMeHARD: President Muhammadu Buhari’s current economic policies bear a stark resemblance of those he promulgated during the military regime he led in the 1980s, a former Minister of Education and social critic, Oby Ezekwesili, has said. Mrs. Ezekwesili said Mr. Buhari’s “archaic” and “opaque” economic principles are not only encouraging massive corruption and abuse of power, but also hurting the poor they was intended to help. Mrs. Ezekwesili said this at The Platform, a yearly public policy forum that is currently underway in Abuja. “During the first coming of this our new president, a command and control economic system was adopted. “During that era, inflation spiralled. During that era, jobs were lost. During that era, the economic growth level dipped,” Mrs. Ezekwesili said. “That era wasn’t the best of eras in economic progress.” “What did not work in 1984 cannot possibly be a solution in a global economy that’s much more integrated.” Mrs. Ezekwesili said Mr. Buhari was rehashing the same “command and control” approach towards economic issues which has left the country’s economic indices worse off since he assumed office almost year ago. “In over one year, the president is still holding to the premise that command and control is the only way out,” Mrs. Ezekwesili said. “In a year we have lost the single digits inflation status we maintained in past administrations.” Foramfera Mrs. Ezekwesili said Mr. Buhari’s distortion of foreign exchange system has left the poor it was intended to support even worse off. “The president comes into this economic philosophy on the premise that he does not want the poor to suffer. I can relate to that, a leader must, especially a leader who knows that most of his votes came not from the elite but from the poor.” “The problem though is that the intention and the outcome are diverged. “The weakest and the most vulnerable suffer the impact of inflation the most. Enormous power is being abused as a result of opaque economic policies. “Companies are suddenly finding themselves unable to produce because they’re unable to access foreign exchange,” Mrs. Ezekwesili said. Mrs. Ezekwesili, therefore, urged Mr. Buhari to sit down with his administration officials and reconsider the impact his polices have had on the nation’s economy, quoting an American parlance that says if something is not broken there’s no need fixing it”. “Mr. President should sit with his team and look at the economic evidence that speaks loudly. It’s time to sit back and review the well-intended idea of command and control economic principle. “He should do what the Americans say that if it ain’t broken, don’t fix it,” Mrs. Ezekwesili said.
