Jobs/Vacancies / How TO Ask Your Boss To Increase Your Salary by oladimejiX: 2:55am On Aug 04, 2014
If there is one thing that a man cannot have enough of, it is money, everyone wants money and more money, no matter how much money they already have, the rich only wants to get richer while the poor and the needy wants to get rich, everyone wants money.

The same can be said of your salary, you always want more, you want an increase in your pay, for some of you reading this, it’s just a case of wanting more, because what you earn already is what some people are praying for, but like everyone you just want more, while for others reading this it’s a case of need, you need an increase in that salary, because its increasingly becoming difficult to keep body and soul together because the salary is no longer enough and it is for this reason that we need to find a way for you to ask your boss for that raise.

If you think asking your boss for an increase is impossible, then you better just quit reading right now because the category of people am talking to here are those who know they add value to the company they work, those who knows they play a key role in the daily running of that company, am talking to those who knows that if they were to leave the company today, the impact of their absence will be felt, for those who have the confidence and are never afraid to stand before their boss, if you fall into this category of people who knows the company they work is making profits and yet there has been no salary increase, then its time you walked up to your boss, tell him exactly why you think you deserve the raise, let him know how much your pay has become insufficient for you and how much the financial pressure could put a negative pressure on your job performance, be confident about your demands, you would be amazed what can happen.
The key thing here is your confidence, your strong reasons, and the fact that you need it and not just wanting an increase unnecessarily, you see a lot of times bosses know employees that deserves an increase and the ones that don’t, and if you are surrounded by more of colleagues that do not necessarily deserve an increased pay, you may never get an increase if you don’t ask, even if the company only increase salary across board and not on individual basis, you asking might be the reason why the increase will happen to everyone.
Remember, ask and you shall receive, the worst case scenario is that you would get a No, I am yet to hear of anyone that was sacked because he asked for a salary increase, you can get a Yes, a No, it could be a not now response or better still your boss could say he would consider it and get back to you, all in all, you will get a response and your confidence will be boosted for daring to do what a lot of well deserving employees are afraid to do.
You know your boss better than I do, use discretion and don’t let your confidence fail you; you deserve something better than what you are getting.
goodluck on your asking.

Romance / Nigerians Are Not Romantic And Its Pathetic by oladimejiX: 1:11pm On Aug 01, 2014
Its terrible how unromantic Nigerians are, i would have said Nigerian men are unromantic but i can't say that because even ladies are equally guilty,i know some yeye unthinking people will be quick to say "shey na romance i wan chop?" I won't be surprised because its not the fault of such people its the fault of the unromantic parents.

Unromantic parents will raise unromantic children, children that will find it difficult to express love, most guys these days believe been romantic makes them less manly, and that is very wrong, afterall God by sending His only begotten son to die for sinners demonstrated the height of been romantic, "so how your own com be?"
I have three websites www.lovequotespro.com www.lovelylovemessages.com www.iloveromanticmessages.com all dedicated to romantic love messages, love quotes and the likes and they get very good traffic mostly American traffic but Nigeria is no where on the radar, we need to show more love, be more caring, say more loving words and express love more, its a good legacy to leave for our children.

i love you with all of me never to take u for granted

My love for you is higher than the mountains
Deeper than the oceans
This love is sweeter than plantain
I mean what I say this is no mere emotions

You are the apple of my eyes
And I promise to always love you

Politics / Looting!!!former Governor, Abubakar Audu Stole Billions From Kogi State by oladimejiX: 10:22pm On Dec 01, 2013
Kogi state, Nigeria is popularly called the confluence but with the likes of Abubakar Audu ruling that state from 1999 to 2003, one can well now refer to that state as the looted state, no disrespect to people from that state though, but the truth must be said, the looting of Kogi state by the former governor Abubakar Audu was so severe that according to newspaper report on August 29, 2004 by Sunday sun. When the successor to governor Abubakar Audu resumed office he met only N500,000 in the state treasury, earlier in the year, March 18 2013, the former governor along with the director general of rural development in his administration Alfa Ibn Mustapha were indicted by the EFCC on a 36 count charge of misappropriation of public funds to the tune of 10,000,965,837.40, that's a whopping sum to have embezzled when countless Nigerians are suffering, the first thing the former governor did was to file a no case on the basis of jurisdiction, competency and abuse of court process. The question begging for answer is, if the man was really innocent why does he not respond to the charges brought against him rather than try to force the hands of the court, Abubakar Audu is not an innocent man, no man is generally innocent though but as far as the looting of public funds go, Abubakar Audu is a guilty man and the extent to which the former governor looted Kogi may never be fully ascertained, we have strong evidences in the form of documents to indeed prove that Abubakar Audu used state funds to acquire posh properties in USA as well as United kingdom, - See more at: http://publicaccountabilityleague.com/content/lootingformer-governor-abubakar-audu-stole-billions-kogi-state#sthash.PRwACdpx.dpuf

Romance / The Break Up by oladimejiX: 5:34pm On Oct 14, 2013
I was tired and fed up, there was no going back on my decision, my mind was made up and I was ready to go all the way to make this break up a reality, Stanley was a wonderful man, really nice person, caring and really very understanding but of what good is a wonderful man if he is not showing signs he’s ready to marry you four years into a relationship.

I had given Stanley enough signs to let him know I was ready to be his wife, even though he lost his job as a bank teller two years after our relationship started and two years after the job loss I still remained with him, but for how long was I to wait hoping a new job would come for him, I wasn’t getting any younger and I was keeping so many eligible men away from me because of Stanley but all that was coming to an end today.
I left my house and headed for Stanley’s place so I can cordially break up with him little did I know Stanley had other plans and the break up never happened, few weeks preceding the break up I’d change my attitude and I was no longer as cheerful and excited as I used to be when I was with Stanley and all the time he asked me what the problem was, my response was always nothing, or what was I supposed to say? Tell him I wanted him to marry me? Of course I couldn’t do that.

Naturally I will have called Stanley before I leave for his house when things are still rosy, but not today, I just wanted to get this over with, I got to his place and I was glade enough not to come across any neighbor just so I won’t exchange pleasantries, I was in no mood for that. I knocked on the door as gently as possible and I got no response, I soon started banging on the door loudly yet no response and my thought immediately switch to the direction of ‘’what if Stanley was with another girl’’, well that will make the break up feel even better, I brought out my own keys unlock the door and headed straight for his bedroom and there I got the shock of my life, Stanley wasn’t with another girl as I thought, Stanley was dead, he was hanging by his neck, I ran out of the house screaming for neighbors.

Neighbors soon come in and attended to the body, cutting it down from the ceiling, I sat there and wept uncontrollably to think I’d come to break up with Stanley only to meet his dead body made me feel really guilty. One of the neighbors taped me and handed over a piece of paper to me, it turned out that Stanley had planned a suicide note before killing himself, it reads;

‘’I’m sorry for not saying goodbye, I’m sorry it had to end like this, I saw it coming and I could not live with it, your change of attitude said it all, the coldness that exuded from you made it all the more obvious, you were tired of waiting for me and I couldn’t imagine my life without you in it. I should have taken what was coming as a man but I couldn’t, leaving the way I did makes it all easier for you, don’t blame yourself for my actions, I take responsibility, I hope you will find happiness with a man that will love you more than I ever did, one that will love you enough to stay with you no matter what’’.
I wept bitterly and uncontrollably after reading the note, wishing I had acted differently, but what was I to do? What would you have done?

Mayhem On Third Mainland Bridge
Having the popularity as the longest bridge in west Africa or is it in Africa as a whole? whichever it is, third mainland bridge is many things to many people and to me its just a route i take to work every evening as a night shift nurse in a private hospital on Lagos island, but on this fateful day, third mainland bridge became known to me in a different dimension.

the day was a Saturday, the time was 10.00pm and i was already running late for my shift, i had barely reached the middle of the bridge when my car started making a funny sound, the last thing i needed was a broken down vehicle in the middle of the third mainland bridge at this time of the night, but like fate would have it, what i needed wasn't what i got, the car stopped abruptly and there i was sitting helplessly not knowing what to do, i wanted to come down but i didn't think it was safe for me as a lady to come down on the bridge at this time of the night, i called the driver of the hospital emergency bus, explained my situation to him, he agreed to come pick me up and so i waited , i didn't realize how dangerous my situation was until situation started unfolding before my eyes.About 30 minutes after my car broke down a large black SUV drove past me and parked some 200 meters away from my car, it didn't look like the car was faulty because no one came down, in all the time i,d been on the bridge not too many cars went past my car, my car window was tinted and i left no light on in the car so it must have seemed there was no one in my car. A loud bang soon shook me out of my drifting thoughts, i looked up and i saw a small car park slowly a few meters away from mine, a ,man came down looked at his car tires, he soon brought out tools and was soon busy working on his car tire.

i looked on and did not even entertain the thought of coming down from my car, minutes after a very large man came down from the large black SUV that had earlier packed in front of me, speaking of tall, the man was really tall and he walked purposefully towards the man that was bent over the car fixing the tires, he was followed by another man wearing a flowing white traditional looking attire, he soon got close to the man working on the car, the man working on the car looked up and something scary happened, the large tall man brought a large knife looking like a machete and with such lightning speed he cut off the head of the man working on the car, i froze in fear where i was, the man wearing white picked up the severed head of the man while the large man picked up the dead man and threw him in the lagoon below the bridge, they returned swiftly to the black SUV and sped off, all the while I'd been sitting up and watching, i immediately ducked placing my head on the passenger seat of my car wishing what i just witnessed was a dream, but it wasn't i was on the third mainland bridge and i was alone in broken down vehicle, a sudden knock on my car window immediately turned up my fear to a high volume as i thought the head hunters came back for me, the knocking increased in tempo, shaking all over i fearfully looked up and there he was, the driver of the hospital emergency bus.
this story has been rewritten in my own words to fictionalize it, but it is based on a true account of two witness before whom this incidence happened as narrated on a popular radio program in Nigeria
whether you choose to believe is up to you, but whatever you do be sure to open your eyes and be highly security conscious,
better to be safe than sorry

Crime / Captured On The Street Of Lagos (how I Escaped) by oladimejiX: 12:23pm On Oct 05, 2013
As soon as I entered the bus the conductor shut the door, it was then I looked around the bus and nothing looked out of place, I sat down directly behind the driver, two men chatting loudly with each other sat down in the two seats beside the driver, two men sat beside me, the seat behind me was occupied by two good looking ladies, they seem not to know each other as both of them neither looked at each other nor chatted, they both were lost in their individual thought, the bus wasn't filled to capacity, I and the female ladies were the only female in the bus an elderly man and a much younger man sat in the back seat of the bus, I did all this assessment in the space of five seconds that I looked around the bus.

I brought out my blackberry phone to attend to the various pings and messages I had received, I was still in the middle of typing a message to my best friend kike when suddenly I started feeling drowsy and weak, I looked up to see that the men in the front had stop chatting and were both looking at me, my vision was not focused and the two appeared as four, I looked behind to see one of the ladies behind me was looking rather limp in the manner she hung her head on the closed window of the bus, the other lady was staring at me, with my last reserve consciousness I turned to look at my phone, the notification indicator was blinking wildly, I could not continue the message I was typing to send to my best friend but I was able to type ‘help’ and I pressed send before I passed out.
I woke up with a start and my immediate reaction was to scream but I could not as I was gagged with a foul smelling piece of only God knows what, my hands were tied behind my back as well as my legs, I couldn't see anything as I was blindfolded, I was completely immobile as I lay on my side, I felt like a tuber of yam lying on the kitchen floor about to be slaughtered, perhaps this is how being a yam actually feels like, I perceived the other two ladies were also in the same state as I was, though I didn’t see them, but i could sense i was not the only one in the room

The room we were in must have been a hut, not that i was sure or if it even mattered, in my mind I tried to picture were we could be and how far out of Lagos we must have been taken, the journey was supposed to be just thirty minute (from mile two to oshodi oke) and I was supposed to be having an outing with my best friend kike, I thought of my younger ones, my troublesome younger sister, how I had shouted at her earlier in the day and I wondered if she will miss me at all, I thought of my mum, I thought of how heartbroken she will be when they find out I had gone missing, I thought of…
I was jostled out of my thought by the sound of people coming towards the room we were in, I quickly pretended to still be unconscious, I heard the voice of three men, I recognized two voices as those of the men that were chatting beside the driver in the bus, but I did not recognize the third, he was being told to decide which one of us he wanted as the second customer was soon to be around to make is selection, he asked if he was going to get the private part as well as the breasts saying the head wasn't going to be enough to complete the ritual he needed to do, I shuddered were I lay and I didn't dare make a sound, I was completely paralyzed by fear, he finally declared he wanted the one wearing red top, I quickly tried to remember the color of the top I was wearing but I could not remember, but I soon knew I was not wearing red as the other lady was carried out of the room, the room was soon quiet.

It was then tears rolled down my eyes, knowing I was about to die in the hands of another human, about to be slaughtered like an animal to satisfy the devilish lust of another man for money, the tears came down like it was the first rain after a long dry season, I never got the chance to tell Henry how much I love him, I never even gave him the chance t talk to me. I heard footsteps now, then the voices, the two voice I recognized, I was weeping and shaking uncontrollably now, I heard the third voice saying "is this the last one?" the two men answered "yes, the last one for the rituals" The sound of the third voice instantly stopped my tears, I recognized the voice, I knew the voice, it was a very familiar voice, I was too shaken by fear to fully place the voice, I was dragged roughly to my feet by the two young men, my blindfold was removed and I was immediately standing face to face with the third man, the customer, the man who needed me to be used as a ritual to satisfy his lust for money and the man turned out to be my father, my own daddy.I Fainted

Career / You Wont Believe This (must Read) by oladimejiX: 12:06pm On Oct 05, 2013
saw this story and i thought to share it
It was like any other day, a day just like today is for you, I’d left the house with the hope the day was going to be a wonderful one and true to God I was sure it was going to be wonderful and I was determined not to let anything stand in the way of my progress, but little did I know that something else was lying in wait for me, like every one of us, we enter each day with hopes and expectation and sometimes things don't turn out the way we planned it.

I found my way to the bus park and boarded a bus going to Lagos Island, Lagos Nigeria, those familiar with the traffic of Lagos knows how chaotic and hectic it can be on a Monday, I guess its like that in every part of the world, but then that of Lagos is the one I know, boarding the bus, paying the bus conductor, and weaving through Lagos traffic (crawling through traffic was more like it) was uneventful, but all that soon changed when at a particular major bus stop some passenger alighted and new passengers boarded among the new passenger was a lady, she was well dressed and seemed like she was in a hurry, her hurriedness soon made her step on my shoes, my black, shiny, newly bought, polished to a mirror look shoe, to say I was angry was an understatement, what I felt was an amalgamation of furiousness and toxic vexation and I did not hold back expressing it, the woman was shocked by my outburst and she immediately declared how sorry she was but her apology was not enough to get the muddy stains she had deposited on my shoes away, it had rained the day before and the road in some areas in Lagos don’t forget quickly when it rains because they retain muddiness for days thanks to the potholes that grace the road or maybe I should say disgrace the road.

I soon got down at a bus stop and quickly found a shoe shiner to take of my shoes, done with that I headed to the address that was sent to me as the venue of the job interview, I located quickly enough, met the receptionist who verified that I’d truly review the message inviting me for the interview to fill the position of an executive Customer Relation Officer, after about 30 minute I was called in for the interview, I met four people seated on the interview panel and to my glorious surprise the lady I’d unleashed on earlier in the bus was the head of the interview panel, my confidence immediately gave way to confusion but I tried to conceal it.

Amazingly enough the interview went well and even when I was asked how I would react to an angry foul mouthed customer, I answered the question professionally, I was told the company will get back to me but I never got a call from them, it’s been 5 months since that interview. I know what caused it and I bet you know it too, the very women who was to interview me, for a customer relation officer position was the very person I angrily spoke to in the bus;
Be careful how you treat people you never know how your actions can come back to haunt you.
The question I want you to answer is this What will you have done if it was you the woman stepped on in the bus not forgetting he didn’t know who the woman was?

rill: I really do not believe this story.
If truly she had previously seen his pics on fb, she should be able to spot the difference. Some doubts would build up in her head and to satisfy this curiosity, she would ask him questions she beleives only the real henry could provide real answers to.
Or was she just entirely, stup.i.dly carried away by his ride and attractive looks she forgot to make use of her brains. The whole thing appears too silly to actually happen in real life.
it doesn't make any difference whether you believe it or not

Romance / The Hookup I Will Never Forget by oladimejiX: 11:13am On Oct 04, 2013
i saw this story on a site and i thought to share it, i couldn't copy it completely though

After drinking all night with my guys and frolicking with barely dressed girls in the club, i finally decided to go home, it was 3:00 am and i was very drunk, i picked one of the girls that had been by my side all night in the club, as drunk and Leary eyed as i was, my eyes were clear enough to choose from among the girls, the one that had the biggest breast, she was allover me and soon enough i knew i was going to be all over her.

we got into my car and she could barely get her hands off me, pulling at my shirt, draping her arms all over me like sh wanted to get under my skin, i drove as fast as the car could go, it was the middle of the night, the road was free, the street lights was not working and it was dark as usual, my car's headlight was at the brightest and it was just enough to see the road in front of me, i began to think about the very bad things i was going to do to the girl beside me, she was just as drunk as i was and that made for a very good combination, i looked at her, where she sat on the passenger's side and i saw she was beginning to remove her already barely there top, things were turning out to be more interesting than i planned,

Romance / From Facebook To My Bedroom (the Sweet Coincidence) by oladimejiX: 4:32pm On Oct 03, 2013
She was tall, light skinned, cute faced and she had such beautiful perfect features i mistook her to be a mannequin, more so because she stood in front of a boutique, she was alone, she was on the phone and she seemed a little frazzled, i drove closer to where she stood, stopped the car and got down, about the same time i stopped, she ended the call on her phone, she looked at me as though she was expecting me to say something, that was the last reaction i expected from her, but i said nothing, i just looked on soaking in her features like i was taking a long cool drink, she looked even more angelic up close, she smiled and asked if i was Henry, the question immediately got my attention, "Henry?" i thought in my head, without hesitation i said yes, to think my name was no way close to Henry did not even slow down my response one bit, for a girl as beautiful as this, i don't mind been called "shit packer"

She came close and gave me a very long hug and with such cheerfulness stepped back, held my hands and looked me over, "you look very much different in person than you do on Facebook", she said. without skipping a beat, i answered her "well, sometimes it happens that way, you look even more gorgeous than you look on Facebook anyway". she seemed so thrilled to have met this Henry, Facebook friend of hers, when in the real sense this was smart boy Nwokocha taking advantage of the situation standing in front of her, she asked me how come the number i gave her had been switched off all day, "the phone fell inside water" was my quick response, seemed like the person she was suppose to meet at the spot was incommunicado, i hope he stays so till this encounter is over.

We got into my car and headed for one of the restaurants around, this was not what i ever planned for, but it was going so well and i was acting the part so well too, i just wonder how she could be so dumb to think i was Henry, wont blame her though, the confidence with which i stood in her front at a time she was expecting someone she has not even met in person before would have it difficult for her to think otherwise, we chatted cheerfully as we ate in the restaurant and when we finished eating and continued chatting and made no move to leave, she asked if i did not want her to know where i stayed, i responded with "why not?" we headed to my place and i knew exactly what i was going to do to this beautiful lady, i could feel excitement coursing through my body, one part of me was feeling a little guilty though, but i silenced it,

Two hours after i coincidentally met this beautiful lady she was in my room, i was the assumed Facebook friend, she was wrong but by the time i'm through with her she would be right, things was getting heated up between us as we sat down in my living room and just then her phone rang, i prayed silently it would be one of her lady friends, she picked her phone and immediately her countenance changed and then i knew i was in trouble, minutes after she ended her call, looked at me and said "so you are not Henry? shit", she frantically carried her bag and hurried out of my house without saying nothing else, while i sat down there looking like a fool that i was, i was foolish enough to have wanted to sleep with a girl i just met that day and i was so very close to doing it, God have mercy.

what would you have done if you were the lady or if you were in my shoes? drop your comment

this is what you should have done in the first place instead of posting a useless link that looked like it was penned by an agbero. when i read articles, i want to see quotes in it. the headlines do not move me - too many fake stories on the internet!
there you go again talking brashly, why do you have to call the writer an agbero, the write up on the first link is an excerpt, which was written by me, the owner of the blog. not everybody wants to do a copy and paste, blogging. so be a little reserved when throwing names around.

it's a fake story.
why are they only showing the victim? where are the culprits? show me one quote from any of the parties involved in this fake news. where is the investigating officer assigned to deal with this matter? you people in your bid to cop traffic to your blogs make up nonsense stories to fleece unsuspecting nigerians.

i repeat, it's a fake story!
perhaps ypu should do a search on the story before you stick to your guns on this matter, what was posted here is an excerpt of the full news, why don't you go read it here http://www.nigeriagalleria.com/news/fullnews.php?fn_id=4898 and see full details of the court proceedings on the case, maybe then you would quit repeating, it's fake

The level of depravity to which ladies have fallen these days is alarming, or how else could one describe the actions of the two ladies Temitope Abigael and Temitope Remi 26 and 28 years old respectively who both are members of the Cherubim and Seraphim church Ebute metta, both of them being a choir members conspired and assaulted another choir member Hannah Okurabe an 18 year old girl on the 17th of March 2013.

On the said date the two had accosted Hannah few meters from the church at Abule Nla junction, and tore her with a new razor blade all over face, with the mind to disfigure her face, she sustained four different deep cuts on the left side of her face as well as on her neck, the attack was a follow up to an earlier confrontation which they had over their choirmaster, a married man and a father of two, the two have since been charged to court and remanded in kirikiri prison and their bail has been set to N200,000 which they have found impossible to pay, the question then is, how could three grown up ladies fight over a married man, the three being choir members in a church, is that how terrible things have become in this world of ours?. share your comment

This story could turn you a preacher by the time you finish reading it.

The Pastor got to the church on that sunday morning and began his preaching. As he was preaching, he noticed a small boy weeping, which he thought was due to the touching message he was delivering.

By the time he finished the preaching, he called the boy to share his testimony and here is it:
Boy: (weeping uncontrollably as he holds the microphone) Sir, What do you call a person that picks what does not belong to him and turns it to his own?
Pastor: A thief of course!
Boy: (Surprised of the answer the Pastor gave) A thief! Okay...
Then the boy continued...

When I was coming to this church this morning, I lost a jotter that contained revelations given to me by God. I was very troubled, so I decided to pray. When I was praying, God told me He had delivered it to the hand of a pastor to whom He wanted me relay a message. He said he would instruct Him to call my phone number on the jotter and then He(God) would give me a message for him.

I asked what the message was and God told me "Tell Him I want him to be faithful to me and then his ministry and business will grow; Faithfulness is all I need from him"

Though I did not understand the message well and I was not going to question God to explain what He meant, I decided to just do as I was directed.

I waited for the call and I received none, so I kept calm. I knew I would get my jotter back, since I was going to deliver a message to the one with it.

"I came here because God had sent me to give the church members the tract He asked me to print, WHICH IS THE SERMON YOU HAVE JUST DELIVERED."
God actually knew we were going to meet here, so He sent me to you.

The head Usher to receive and assess the tract for approval, before it would be distributed was not around, so I waited.
Where I was sitting, I saw two Angels standing beside you, removing some things off you. I couldn't stand the sight that I wept. I wanted you to stop the preaching but they warned me not to say anything. The Angels left 2minutes ago and while they were leaving, they told me you only had 10minutes to live. They ended it by saying: "THIS ONE WILL BE A LESSON FOR AS MANY WHO ARE UNFAITHFUL IN THEIR DEALINGS WITH GOD AND MEN"

The message in the tract is what you have preached as sermon so there won't be the need to distribute it any more.
It dropped off me and you actually picked it, but you never obeyed God to call me as He has directed you.

"Can I have my jotter back now?," the boy said as he shook his head sideways.

The pastor, now sweating profusely, wept as the whole church was watching to see what would happen. He took the jotter and handed it to the boy then fell and died there on the altar, as a reward for his unfaithfulness.

The whole church, on seeing him fell, ran out of the church!

Then it reminded me of a passage in the bible that says: "And if ye have not been faithful in that which is another mans, who shall give you that which is your own?" (Luke 16:12).

MORAL:
DON'T PICK WHAT DOES NOT BELONG TO YOU AND TURN IT YOUR'S. GOD MAY WANT TO USE IT TO GIVE YOU A GREATER GIFT. Peace!
