My Dad called me this evening to tell me the essence of praying. The thing is that I don't believe praying solves anything Atleast to me. the day I stopped believing and started working more on myself, I found out that things started getting better for me than those who goes to the Church and Mosques.

I actually inquired about this but my school system is different.
This is a federal school though, so if a student gets less than 1.0, the student is withdrawn and less than 1.5 is probation.

which school is that if I may ask? A younger brother of mine is in same shoe. He's in funaab, to be precise. 1.5 means they will change his course?

Bro, i can openly say that you've worked as a pump attendant before and probably used one or some of those tricks . I can remember when I was an attendant also, just too scare to do those stuffs. Those oloriburuku still dey owe me salary till now. Working as a fuel attendant is a total slavery

So I created a topic early last year concerning my schooling.
As at then I was in 200 level and my 100 level results were just released, I failed whole fully with total of 5 carry-overs in the whole of year 1 alone amounting to less than 2.0 GP.
I resumed 100 level very late (A week to exams) and that contributed to the whole thing, I felt really devastated honestly so I had to bring it up on this forum. People here motivated me, some where of the option that I defer the admission and some came with insults and how I should drop out and do yahoo lol.
Friends around me who had same problem resulted to start sorting lecturers and all that but I was not in for that nonsense. Now the issue was that I read hard but I don't understand why my results were not to my expectations.
Many people here adviced that if I must graduate with my mates and a good result I needed to read extra, I took heed to that and during the lockdown I had already start planning my strategy to overcome upon resumption. I changed environment and moved with a friend of mine, an engineering student.
When school resumed this year ( 200 level second semester) I started reading hard like exams was tomorrow. Since 100 level, I have not really been social, I hardly go out and try to keep a very small circle. This my roommate has been very cool, he has really thought me a lot and also helped me academically.
At a point I started falling sick unnecessarily but I did not relent in my academics.
When the result for our 200 level second semester came out I was joyous, the first semester (200) was average because of reference I had to rewrite and second semester gave me 4.88GP with only one reference I wrote, I was in doubt and had to go to my department to get the statement of my results and it was confirmed. Now I'm hoping the industrial training I'm about to embark on goes well too because I have to make sure to aquire the practical knowledge of my discipline.
I acknowledge that I myself have to keep up with this effort at this moment but I really want to motivate students like me not to feel down in any kind of academic setback, rather seize it as an opportunity to work on yourself and improve.
Although I understand what works for me might not work for you so find what works for you and apply it.
Nobody is a failure.

how come you have less than 2.0 as gpa and you are not withdraw from your department? I think anything below 2.0 will prompt the school to transfer you to a lesser department, while below 1.5 means you will be withdrawn from the university (expel). I met a lady through 2go in 2014. I asked her out online and she accepted, weeks later, we met one weekend and had sex on the first day! The sex wasn't great, I stopped half way and went to shower. I dissolved everything between us and left for my lodge (I was schooling too but in another school but same state)

She didn't call to apologise and I also locked up. Fast forward 6 month later, she messaged me on Facebook that she was 7 months pregnant. I did my calculations and Instantly knew something was wrong somewhere. I denied being the father, she went on my friend list and dug up my my uncle's profile and chatted him about the pregnancy. My uncle messaged me

Calm me down and request I go see the baby with my parent. We went to her parent house, saw the baby immediately started investigating about dna test. I was humbled by the price of the dna test (200k as at then) because there is no way I was going to raise that kind of money while in school.

Long story short, my parent and I have been taking care of the baby ever since then, I finished school around 2017, travelled out of the country almost immediately after graduation and assumed responsibility on my own.

I came back late 2019, I requested we do a dna test upon my arrival. I went straight up to a known diagnostic center and made enquiries of the price and what to bring before the dna test will be done..

I was told to bring any official means of identification for myself, the birth certificate of the baby and the mother will also have a means of identification too and she will also be present to sign the consent form.

I told her about the requirements and ask her if she had any means of identification herself. She said No! I went back to the diagnostic centre and told them if there is any substitute, they said she can present her NIN slip. I told her immediately to get the NIN slip, days later she told me there were too much people on the queue and that she can't continue to waste her time endlessly. We went back and forth about the NIN slip till the whole of 2020 ended.

The beginning of this year I told her that I'll stop giving her money for the baby's upkeep if she can't provide the NIN slip. With as low as 2500 she can get hers from the local shops.

She called and called for me to send her money for the first 3 months of this year. I didn't budge. I kept to my words. No dna test, no money. School fees time came, she called, I was forced to go back to the diagnostic center this April and pleaded if there is a way we could do the dna test without requesting any form of identification from the mother of the child. They called the head office in lag and told me that we can do the test without the mum's mode of identification. I was elated and called her to bring the baby with her on the 5th of April (Easter Monday) to the my shop, then from there we will go to the diagnostic center. She said OK.

I waited for her to bring the child over, she didn't. She called me 3 days after saying that she went for a church program. I was furious. I told her to show bring the baby the following day (Thursday) she said she will come. Again she refuse to show up. She called 5 days later to tell me that she's sorry. I ended the call and told her that she isn't serious.

She rang me days ago to tell me that the baby is not feeling too well and that she want to see me, she urge me to pls send her something to take the baby to the hospital for treatment.

I'm in a dilemma, I don't know how to go about this. It's obvious that she is deliberately not allowing me to go for the dna test and I don't want to be a deadbeat dad either.

How do I lure her to go for the test? I don't want my daughter to have a bad perception about me that I wasn't there through her childhood (if eventually she turn out to be mine).

that reminds me of my first time going to Abuja, on my way back to Ibadan, the bus left Abuja at 7pm but you won't believe the driver slept off on the wheel at around 1pm,not small sleep o, the man closed his 2 eyes finish, thank God for the woman that sat beside him, she was the one that noticed and called the attention of everyone. We had to tell him to stop, then we bought drinks and kolanut for him, and allowed him before returning to the steering after 2 hours rest. Learnt that he just came back from Ibadan around 5pm, and still decide to put his bus on the turn that same day, is that not genocide?

The problem of those churches (Redeem and winners chapel) am sorry to mention names, is expansion and wanting to become the largest worship center in Africa. There's absolutely no need of building churches everywhere, even in the time of Jesus, synagogues are few but today, especially in Nigeria, pastors have turned church buildings to competition. If it's only 10 churches you can build and manage well, then so be it! Building 10thousands churches with the ones already built looks like rubbish to me. Where do you expect to get people to fill those buildings? From another churches? More reason to respect late prophet TB Joshua. That's why I don't give their pastors or members audience anytime they come preaching to me. I cant just imagine someone trying to talk me to come to their church even after I explained that I am a Christian from birth and have my own church. I now see the reason why they're so adamant; they're afraid to be tagged "fruitless" by their employer.
