Good afternoon fams,
Anyone here who obtained verpflichtungserklärung (declaration of obligation) from Trier city (Rheinland- Phalz state). My sponsor called to tell me this morning that the Alien office is asking for my insurance before the document can be processed and that rules differs from one state to another. My thought is insurance is done after interview when the embassy asks for it. Please to anyone who had related issues please shed more light

My sponsor state is Rheinland-Pfalz.

In anticipation please.

LIFE AND LEARNING 1500 Euro per semester NRW
requires fees from international students If you do not
come from Europe and want to study in North Rhine-
Westphalia, you will have to pay study fees in the future.
FDP boss Lindner wants to take up to 100 million euros
per year. DPA FDP chief Christian Lindner, demonstrators
Friday, 09.06.2017 17:50 Uhr With a new fee for foreign
students, North Rhine-Westphalia wants to improve its
educational budget. The CDU and the FDP have agreed
on Friday in their coalition negotiations to demand 1500
euros per semester from every student coming from a
country outside the European Union. The black-yellow
coalition plans to put the money into the universities of
the country. They could take up to 100 million euros per
year in the medium term, said FDP boss Christian
Lindner. He spoke of an "innovative way to improve the
quality of teaching in NRW". As a result, politicians have
a similar course to their colleagues in Baden-
Württemberg. In the coming winter semester, the state
will introduce a study fee for non-EU foreigners of €
1500 per semester and will invest them in research and
teaching. General government fees will not be levied
either in Düsseldorf or in Stuttgart - according to current
status. However, the new fee in Baden-Württemberg has
again prompted the protests. Many students who were
not affected by the scheme also complained. The attack
violated the equal treatment principles, it said, when the
plans were presented for the first time in autumn 2016.
The student action group against study fees criticized
"the economic exploitation logic, according to which the
people who come here are judged". Students from EU
countries, Erasmus students, refugees and other needy
are to be exempted from charges in Baden-Württemberg.
In Düsseldorf too, the new coalition is thinking about
exceptions: CDU Landeschef Armin Laschet said that
students from third countries like Turkey, who were born
in Germany and have a German school leaving
certificate, would not have to pay. Mj / dpa Related

I always ve experience concerning most things I say here and I can't keep explaining them bit by bit.

But good luck to Ya bro.

Ur case might be diff

Haba Bro, don't use ur case to generalise. Frankly speaking, let's forget the fact that NIPOST delivery are late (presumably 10-15 days) but that doesn't mean u paint their image black because it's not everyone here that can afford the charges of DHL, TNT, FEDEX, UPS and Co (someone like me). While on application stage, almost all my documents were sent through NIPOST and it got there before deadline of those schools (mind U, I hv been admitted by one of those schools). My advice to anyone that wants to use NIPOST is that since we know we wanna play safe prior to our present financial status and we wanna economise, submit and post ur document to NIPOST a month b4 the deadline of ur application.

N-B: I'm not an advocate of NIPOST but emphasising on cutting ur coats to ur size (remember not all fingers are equal). All other courier services could be used if u hv the funds because I hear of their efficiency and confidence in maximum of 3days delivery.
My €1 advice. Sallam

BREMEN

Semester Ticket (Mobility): Most schools in Bremen and neighbouring areas uses the VBN network. With this, you can uses all transport around Bremen, Lower Saxony and the regional train to Hamburg. Can you beat that? You will only understand if you have an idea how much transportation cost. In essence you can find jobs easily within those areas at the extra cost for transportation!!
Rating: 5/5 stars

Cost of Living: just average for a relatively big city. Accommodation, food, etc. Not crazy like Munich although not cheap like East Germany. Something in between.
Rating: 3/5 stars

Jobs: Well, students there are mostly absorbed by Mercedes. Where they earn some good cash especially during holidays. People come from far and wide to work there. If your German is okay, then your chances are unlimited but with no German at all, it can be very difficult too. However, your options are more varied with the great mobility and cheap accessibility to places around.
Rating: 4/5 stars

Residency Permits and Extension/Family Reunion: Bremen is not filled with immigrants for nothing. Very "multi kulti". Which means their Burgerbüro have got a lot of work on their hands. So they slap you with at least 2 years extension so you won't have to come back anytime soon to disturb their peace. Extensions are also favourable for students. You don't need another blocked 8,800 euros. With a job and some cash, you can have your residency extended, sometimes to whatever reasonable time that you wish!!
Rating: 5/5 stars

Schools and Internationality: I don't need to write much about this. A fact you already know. Their big university of Bremen ( a world class uni by any standard) host a lot of international students, and also the one in Bremerhaven. I will remove a star because there are obviously cities hosting more international students. I don't think you will feel alone there, because there are always Nigerian students around to keep you company.

Rating: 4/5 stars

Not a shabby performance generally or is it?

Contributions, opinions and criticism are welcomed.

Thanks for this, I'm certainly sure people like U would be giving us picture of where we're going to in deutschland. I would love to know more about Flensburg & Bayreuth. Would be very grateful. Vielen Danke Bruder AK47

Hello NL,

I just received my admission letter to study at the University of Freiburg Germany.
I have a few questions, please.
How can I open a German blocked account?
What is the minimum amount that will be needed to fund this account for the acquisition of a German student visa?
when I arrive Germany, can I send some part of the money back home to refund my contributors?

Please, your answers will be very helpful.

Remember say that area "Freiburg" Baden-Wutt na no go area for hustlers (€1500/semester) like you and even me sef.

1. Use the deutsch bank or fintiba, the links to opening are available in some recent pages.

2. Presently that I know for the present winter students, €8729 (equivalent to #3.2m in our own yeye Naira). Euros no dey smile near naira grin

3. I'm sorry, the Germans get brain. Once u hv funded your account (blocked) as a student u have a maximum withdrawal of €720/month which would be used to sort out ur living expenses for a particular month. Wisely enough if u can be very good at savings "like I was told" you wouldn't be spending more than half of that €720 and thaat also determines the kind of environment your are in Germany. I'm sorry u wouldn't be able to refund all those cash except you are going to be sending it after every month until u complete ur contributors and getting a student job could also aid u with paying back but not the amount wholly. My advice is fix a timing (12 months per say) to all ur contributors if they trust , u would be returning their money back monthly but remember it could also elapse that 12 months but once u re paying them back in the stipulated time they wouldn't hv any course to hold ur guarantors since u re paying back as u guys initially agreed. So, guy think am well ooooo b4 u go mk one person no go hold ur guarantors oooooo undecided.

Plenty terms and conditions dey attached to dx matter but the prayers be say make we prevail --- U go pay school fee, pay bills (rent, feeding) and also thinking on how to refund all ur contributors. If naa free tuition school now, e for dey reasonable. Guy reason am well ooooooo.

The German hustle is real ooooo.
N.B: I'm not in Germany but all this vital information was from what I got from SOURCES there (my padi's in Germany)
cheesy.

Abeg, biko, please, I need answer urgently..

I have been admitted into 4 schools and currently waiting for the last (My most favourite) and I have also gotten the sponsorship document "Verpflichtungserklärung". So what i intend doing and as I was instructed by my sponsor is too proceed with my Visa application using one of the admissions I have and cos the earlier the better, and then I can switch over to the school I want, since the admission list is not yet out. Cool I guess..

My concern now is, the school I want to use has enrollment date for 5th of Oct while that for the Uni I will love to attend is in Sept. If I proceed and book using that school, hope it won't affect my appointment date? cos somebody was booked for 10th of Aug, maybe cos his enrollment is by the end of sept.

Also, is it a must to write the enrollment date when sending the mail to the embassy?? the enrollment date is not in my admission letter so I feel I can deceive them a bit so I get booked for June..

Your advice is urgently needed, Thanks fam.

Haba ur CGPA pass the stipulated gradings nii? Anyways, Congratulations ni 10 times.
In respect to booking appointment / mailing the embassy, what I want to figure out is your enrolment date on ur admission letter plays a significant role so the responsibility for picking a date lies in the hands of the embassy and not you. If the enrolment date is still months ahead, while not chill until that ur best school sends their notification (I'm sure it's a positive one) chillas well whilst u re the one commanding the paroles now. U get luck oooo.
