CFCfan: She may be another Ohuruogu or Perri Shakes-DraytonShe'll fit in the long distances. Another MO Farah maybe |
That Jamaican on the last leg is on drugs. The drug is grounded yam. So strong! |
CFCfan: That would mean that Nigeria would have to withdraw from the relay, because the AFN only listed 4 athletes for the event.Already Gloria Asumnu has pulled out. Dont be surprised to see Regina George come help out the 4x100m. Our athletes are not happy, and I fear intentional baton drop |
America will win this 4 x400m comfortably. |
I honestly feel Blessing should be left out of the 4x100m relay. She is sooo tired and her legs need rest. Blessing is the busiest athlete in Moscow. |
Ghanaian long jumper wins silver, but he represented Holland. Shame.. |
Thank you Blessing...We will celebrate your bronze. Phew! Blessing's legs were obviously sooo lagging. A fit Blessing will chase down SAFP right there. |
Interesting lane draws in the 200m. SAFP CANNOT catch Blessing when Blessing is in front of her. Only fear is if Blessing can catch Ahoure round the bend...game on |
BNP and EDL wont see Mo as a British hero though. |
SMH for BBC... The 200m final is starting in 2 minutes. Leave Mo show abeg. |
Blessing will produce today. 24 hours will be enough for her legs to have recovered. She's really tried. If you dont know: 7 attempts at long jump (each attempt over 6.50m) 3 rounds in 100m (11.08s slowest) 2 Rounds already in 200m As she said in her interview, her mind is fast, but she needs her legs to work with her. Its not easy... |
Afam4eva: Regina george won it for Nigeria. From Nigeria offcourse. Margaret Adeoye and Christine Ohuruogu both ran in that relay for GB. Eidith Child is scottish too, while Shana Cox is American. Interesting that Jamaica has been disqualified, leaving Nigeria in 4th fastest time, hopefully the lane draw for the final can be adjusted and Nigeria get a better lane than lane 9. |
Video of 4 x 400m women. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OPo_9pM6_f8 Also, Jamaica has been disqualified. We MAY push GB for the bronze medal. |
Nigerian athletes not happy. Displeasures with officials is becoming public! Almost all of them have complained today (twitter +fb) about the treatment from AFN. Gloria Asumnu pulling out of the relay. I only pray that we dont lose a medal hope to mismanagement. This is like a repeat of the shameful period when our athletes intentionally dropped the batons to protest. Already we have seen a pseudo-protest from Ajoke Odumosu where she intentionally false-started twice to get a DQ. I sometimes feel ashamed of Nigeria. |
Afam4eva: Okagbare can win a medal. A gold medal is even possible cos she slowed down we she was convinced that she had the second place in her coffers.Very possible. I just went through the race videos again and Okagbare + Felix look the coolest. IF she doesnt get stage fright again, Blessing would be with the winner at the line head to head. |
Race video. See how smooth Bleble was...she looks good for silver. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q39DDD6y6XM |
akintun: Okagbare time needs to be faster than d second place person in d last heat, 4 her to get a good lane draw. Lane draws are very important in 200mCalm down! 22.39 is not something many people produce. Blessing is at least guaranteed a good lane with that performance. |
Okagbare not looking bad, not much to worry about. Which Okagbare turns up tomorrow, I dont know. |
Ahoure not looking bad. Blessing up next |
Afam4eva: I see no reason why a woman should not be the president of NIgeria. Nigerian men have become the new sissies.Blame it on football. Some of those who played for eagles last night can run faster than this bunch |
Nigeria OUT! |
Our fastest legs in 1st and 3rd leg. Good finisher in Ishiaku too. Not bad. |
So the men's 4x400m relay comes first. I think Nigeria MAY go through as one of the fastest losers. Our men are not that great this season, not bad for the final either. Depends who coach Okon puts on the 3rd leg though. I'll prefer Noah Akwu there as he has the fastest leg of all the 4. Also, looks like there's a bit of disunity in camp Nigeria. Home based athletes grumbling. May affect our relay races... |
deene: this is not so difficult ... the only person better than her is Allyson ... and am not seeing Allyson in her very best ... but we never know ... she ll surely make d finalsI disagree. This is the most difficult semi final. However, it will be good to see Blessing actually run fast. She's been very slow at Moscow so far, albeit she's done so in the heats. Personally, I think she's a bit jaded. Not the sharp sprinter we all saw in the diamond leagues. BUT, if she can run near 22.35 in the semi, then she's back. |
I just hope the great Nelson Mandela is not watching this from hospital bed. |
Is there a national height barrier in SA? They are all short and hardly taller than 5'6 |
Someone needs to tie the hands of this SA coach. He's not saying much, but making plenty meaningless gestures |
I guess we know what the last utterance of this Imam will be on this earth. Really inspiring. |
CFCfan: This disappointment may take a long time for her to recover from. Who would have thought that she wouldn't medal at all for a 2nd consecutive global 100m final?I dont think she has the mental strength to win anything after this. she needs a sports psychologist asap. |
now this is a big big psychological barrier for Blessing. She has failed in 2 finals now. I doubt if she can win any more medal in Moscow. |
The witches in Sapele need to be appeased. SMH! ![]() |
Denise in BBC studio is a real street girl. See her jumping up and down classlessly. |
