Politics › Re: Massive Attack Ongoing In A Village Near Chibok by olapluto(m): 1:28pm On Jun 29, 2014
And [recall] when We took your covenant, [saying], "Do not shed each other's blood or evict one another from your homes." Then you acknowledged [this] while you were witnessing. (84) Then, you are those [same ones who are] killing one another and evicting a party of your people from their homes, cooperating against them in sin and aggression. And if they come to you as captives, you ransom them, although their eviction was forbidden to you. So do you believe in part of the Scripture and disbelieve in part? Then what is the recompense for those who do that among you except disgrace in worldly life; and on the Day of Resurrection they will be sent back to the severest of punishment. And Allah is not unaware of what you do. (85)

Red Eboe: Honestly dont think you read it.
Negate my response with a quote from his bland letter.

luvinhubby: Can you please highlight what OBJ raised in his own letter that was not addressed by GEJ`s?
Al-Mustapha's release.
Oduah's corruption
Snipers!
Tribal sentiments been whipped up (most likely the reason you're supporting GEJ)
Politics › Re: President Goodluck Jonathan's Reply To Obasanjo's Letter by olapluto(m): 9:51pm On Dec 22, 2013
OBJ attended Open University at his old age, still his letter outsmarts that of our PHDeed presido! For those who havent read the reply, the summary is this:
1. Baba, you accused me of doing a lot of things, you provided evidence, but Baba, it seems as if you and others are planning against me ooo. Even with the glaring evidences you produced, I did not do it. Take my words for it.
2. My government has achieved a lot in terms of security. Baba, forget the fact that Boko Haram is still killing the people I'm supposed to give security to. My government is working hard, but Boko Haram was founded in 2002, so you cannot blame me really.
3. Baba, your TRIBESMAN, Fela sang about corruption, we are all corrupt.

My Opinion: GEJ is not intelligent enough to lead Nigeria. He has zero achievement and zero evidence to back up his ineptitude. His only forte is playing tribal card or acting the victim to win sympathy. Unfortunately for him, he's been caught out after 2011 elections.

Ikengawo: As much as I respect your opinion and thank you for helping my thread to grow by contributing, it has become impossible to claim that Jonathan is not a performer.

Nigeria is now the #1 economy is Africa. Not the largest in Africa, not the largest in Sub Saharan Africa, not the second largest, not the largest oil producer, the largest economy in the entire continent! We are officially the true black giant of the world and this is why GEJ can stand with Merkel, Obama and Cameron and be eyed with respect!

Forbes has made our Ag. Minister the man of the year. Not man of the day, man of the article, etc, man of the YEAR.

Opec has made our petrol minister an executive of the organization

Nigeria was the first to evacuate it's citizens from Egypt and Tunisia. Nigeria led the way in restoring peace in Ivory Coast. Nigeria challenged Ghaddafi head on and won.

Farming is back, Nigeria no longer imports rice and other foodstuffs and we're ready to export!

Our airports have been rebuilt

Our trains are back

Power production is back and out of government hands.

Fuel subsidy thieves no longer have a chance to loot our collective wealth

Sure-P, and YOUwin have given grants to countless nigerian YOUTHS with ideas for the future to start their business

Boko Haram use to have the power to attack Kano and Abuja, they're now restricted to only Maidugari

Local industry is booming. Nigeria is producing CARS now, the first black people in the world to do so, even before america and south africa.

Our governors are also going a great job. My hats off to Fashola, Sullivan, Akpabio, Mimiko, Obi, Imoke, Ameachi and the rest, but under OBJ and Yar Adua governors didn't even have the power to speak let alone lead.

Jonathan is the modern Nigeria and I'm happy about that fact.
I left Nigeria 8 years ago and only visit for maximum of 3 weeks in between. Now I have stayed 3 months straight in Nigeria, and THINGS ARE REALLY BAD. Things have gone from bad to worst!
1. NTA is now PDP's broadcasting outfit. The one hour news is 90% PDP and 10% of unseen transformation agenda.
2. Power supply is terrible. Its never been this bad in the history of Nigeria. In Ibadan, its an average of 10 minutes a day for the lucky ones. Some have up to 8 hours out of 24 on the best days. Today, in my house, no light since morning! Its 10.01pm, and we're still on gen.
3. SureP is fraud! My sister (a nurse) had to resign from that SUREP because they are not being paid at the primary health centre funded by SURE P.
4. Food is very expensive in the market! Where is the transformation agenda on agriculture?
5. I have visited almost a third of Nigeria since I came home. Things are not better in those states either. You can drive through Ibadan tonight and all you see is generator everywhere! The governor is doing well, but its so glaring the lapses of the federal government.
6. Corruption is the only achievement of this government. Till date, NO politician has been convicted of corruption. Rather, it is committees upon committee, and no implementation of the recommendations. Tafa Balogun would have loved this GEJ administration.
How people can ask for another 4 years of this pain, suffering and anguish is beyond me.
7. Fuel subsidy thieves still have access to our wealth. In fact, GEJ has invited more seasoned thieves like Tony Anenih to help him get re-elected with NPA funds.
8. Dont let me get started on our airports. You can put lipstick on a pig, it is still a pig!
9. You even dare mention Boko Haram as an achievement. You just exposed GEJ as failing in his number 1 priority to secure the lives and properties of Nigerians. Truth be told, GEJ is not capable of quenching boko haram!
Politics › Re: Obasanjo Accuses Jonathan Of Promoting Corruption by olapluto(m): 10:40am On Dec 11, 2013
The presidency is overwhelming for GEJ. He doesnt know what he's doing or whats going on around him. Those blindly stealing our money also do not understand how deep they're eating into the foundation of the country.
The blind ethnic champions who are supporting corruption are also unaware that they're waking the sleeping lion of ethno-religious crisis in Nigeria.
Nigeria is now awash with unguarded religious utterances capable of causing war. The president doesnt care! Neither do the politicians. As long as they have some money to give to victims!
Oh...we await the next Boko Haram strike at our military barracks! Our commander-in-chief is going to call a meeting of service chiefs that night...and someone please kill Labaran Maku...and bury Okupe alive with Maku's dead body.

YES. The ball travels further at altitude

The way naija players are falling and gasping for breath! it reminds me of my first time playing indoor football. My lungs were emptied in 15 minutes. We should just try to hold on to time wasting and get a draw.

I think BT sports will show Nigeria vs Ethiopia live. BT Sports 2, its even in HD. (UK viewers only)

'we've built architecture to combat boko haram in Abuja'- GEJ. At least he's not blaming BH on politics.

Single term of 7 years is more productive than 8 years of 2 terms! Our president is really intelligent. God help Nigeria.
Politics › Re: President Media Chat On 29th September 2013 by olapluto(m): 7:35pm On Sep 29, 2013
This is a media chat with a difference. The journalists are not letting GEJ slip away. Or maybe GEJ is just too dull he's making them look like they're attacking him.
Politics › Re: President Media Chat On 29th September 2013 by olapluto(m): 7:25pm On Sep 29, 2013
GEJ cannot last 30 minutes of intellectual questioning based on fact. He's wobbling and fumbling! No coherent answers so far. Shooting himself in the leg at will. Keeps saying 'you will agree with me' when obviously he isnt making any sense

This LMC or whatever they're called are just a bunch of bribe-induced judges. I cannot believe the judgement against 3SC. 3 points, 3 goals to Sunshine, Salami banned 4 matches and to pay N100k, Dapo Lam-Adesina banned from football for a year. All these for the victimised teamhuh? NFF better take over
Politics › Re: President Goodluck Jonathan Reshuffles Cabinet (Updated) by olapluto(m): 4:25pm On Sep 11, 2013
Not that these ministers were doing much anyway. Ashiru is the only one I miss. He was just putting Nigeria back on the world diplomatic map. GEJ is sinking fast, desperation will further expose his weak backings.

Family › Re: How Do You Treat Your Househelp/maid? by olapluto(m): 2:44pm On Sep 09, 2013
This is one topic most people run away from. I wont be surprised to see a lot of hypocrisy here. Housemaids range from 4yrs old to perhaps 50. They are always at the mercy of their owner. They are denied basic human rights and hardly have anyone to hear them out. There is no limit to working hours. THIS, is a major problem in Nigeria, though most child right activists turn a blind eye.

TV/Movies › Re: Olympus Has Fallen Vs White House Down: Which Is Better? by olapluto(m): 12:36am On Sep 07, 2013
OK. I came into this thread, and went away. Now I've just watched Olympus has fallen. It was action from scene 1 to the end. Let me go wee and start White house down.
But before I watch it, I will comment on Olympus has fallen:
1. The bad guy was killed too easily
2. The attack to take the white house was too unrealistic, I mean how does the president overide his security details when the plane refused to deroute
3. How did the Chinco lady controlling computers choose to die in a planned suicide, just to save the bad boy...
Overall, very good movie. Will I watch it again? If bored
