He has worked for 20 years! I think he deserves some leniency. |
I love Ibadan as it is. Every great city has its own core signature. We do not cherish what we have. Those houses should be listed and kept as the are. Who said you cannot have a mansion with brown roofs? The people of Ibadan are not complaining. They are not backward either. They are just enjoying their historic town. Moreover, over half of Ibadan is not brown roofed! I foresee a future of balanced old-school (victorian) and new houses. |
Though I doubt if Tevez understood what he was holding, I still think it is good banter. Fergie said not in his lifetime will City win the league. Now they have won it, it is only good banter to say RIP Fergie. Tevez did not do it in bad taste. If you're looking for a totally rubbish footballer, please go on to Joey Barton's twitter page, you will see the worst ever footballer. |
I was just wondering if we can have a mini SNC here without trolling. Let us all say our grievances and proffer MATURE solutions. To do this effectively, we need just and fair representations from every area of the Country. What do you guys reckon? |
Can ACN governors PLEASE launch the bid to take over Lagos-Ibadan expressway? For the sake of people dying daily on that road, for the sake of business, and for the sake of regional integration. No amount of FG billions can do that road due to political sabotage. |
FALSE!!! |
13volts: have it occurred to you that of all jtf success in the fight against Boko Haram, kano state have given it its most cooperation. Boko Haram have suffered more loss in equipment and manpower in kano than maiduguri and yobe combined. if the people of maiduguri and yobe were half cooperative as those in kano, this menace will have long been history. can't you see the swiftness in which those that carried the BUK attack were identified and the necessary info passed on to the JTF.Please Kano let me down big time! I expect alot more! I hate to make analogies, but take Lagos for instance. As crowded and diverse as Lagos is, any attack on Lagosians will get bloods boiling. I think it will be very hard for someone to shoot at people in Lagos and escape. Initially people will run, but later, others will stand up for the City. I do not see any boiling blood in Kano. The only thing I see is people blaming an ineffective government. Where are the real defenders of Islam in Kano? During London riots, some Londoners launched the broom campaign to counter the looters. Where are the youth organisations we heard during election? Are they now being exposed as political jobbers only? Where is the MSSN Kano branch? Where is the student Union? where are the retired army officers of Kano Origin? Or am I more concerned than Kano people? |
What is the MAXIMUM number of Boko Haram Member? Shame on us all. Shame we have compromised on everything, so much so we have sold our future. |
I am angry! I know there is grief in Kano, but at the same time, I am ashamed of the indigenes of Kano. Kano is like the Ibadan of the North. Old Powerhouse, reputable for being very vocal, strong, and bold. But it is a real shame that Kano is sleeping. Kano cannot stand up to less than 500 BH people who have infiltrated its population. Kano people looked and looked as gunmen came in and killed them. Kano stood out in 1993 and voted MKO, Kano is the radical capital of the North. Kano should be protected by its people. Kano people should forget about GEJ and protect themselves. Kano people, I love you guys and feel hurt, grief and anger that you have allowed this few men to pull you down. |
If Northerners want to end Boko Haram today, it will end. |
Its not by dressing. |
as vague as a response can be! Did he or did he not deliver a report not properly cited? yes or no. Enough of masking with his position as CBN governor. |
Buhari/Fashola. The North deserves a term in Aso rock. Fashola will run the country, Buhari will run the army and EFCC. Idiagbon did it before |
You cannot help but feel ashamed to be a Nigerian sometimes. We will make noise and the noise will die slowly with time. But I believe Nigeria will be looted to a point where the masses will turn back against the looters. I only fear what will happen after that. |
Silly, speculative and misleading. Summary of the OP. |
There is one fact that cannot change. Watch ALL matches where Barca is struggling. Come back to tell me if the opposition team finished with 10 men. The game against Arsenal was the worst! I cant forget that painful match. Same thing with Real Madrid vs Barca. Whether it is a game plan to con the ref or the refs just do it for Barca, one sure thing is that it exists! |
I think Ta'awunil Muslimeen deserves an apology from the government on this |
Gentlemen of the press, we gather once again to address the issue of unfounded allegation levelled against Jama'at Ta'awunil Muslimeen, a subset of Muslim community in the state, as being used to islamise Osun state. The allegation came as a surprise to the entire members of Tawun. The Saturday Sun of April 14, 2012 reported that the Department of State Security (DSS) identified Jama’at Ta’awunil Muslimeen Society of Nigeria, as being used to islamise the state. The Muslim organisations and the Jama’at Ta’awunil Muslimeen considered the report as a pack of lies which are made to achieve sinister motives. This is in our view a plot to give the organisation a bad name so as to blackmail Muslims to achieve WHAT we do not know. The most ridiculous part of the allegation is that Jama'at Ta'awunil Muslimeen is planning to become a “Boko Haram type” organisation. This is beyond any imagination for an organisation like ours which has established some schools, hospitals, cyber café and many others to be now want to change from creative development to a destructive organisation. God forbid! In the first place, the organisation of Jama’at Ta’awunil Muslimeen understands that Osun State is a component in Nigeria comprising citizens of divergent beliefs and backgrounds whose actions are binded by the constitution. It will be selfish enough to rub mind together with the government of a state to create an Islamic component out of a country binded together by the constitution. It will be against our vision and mission to work with anybody – governmental or non-governmental organisations – to disrupt the peace of a peaceful state. This accusation, as carried in The Saturday Sun, is a blatant fallacy because the agents of the fabricated report should know that we are not ignorant of the fact that Nigeria is a secular country that is constitutionally established. The allegation of planning to create Boko Haram in Osun State with the collaboration of the state governor is seen as a sheer blackmail on the part of the Jama’at Ta’awunil Muslimeen and a plot by the enemies of the state to use federal power to disrupt our good development. It is crystal clear to everybody that the South-West is free from obnoxious acts of Boko Haram sect. But the architects of this plot are fanning the ember of hatred creating the ghost of Boko Haram sect in the South-West where it can never exist. There are evidences to show that the organisation is not supporting the activities of Boko Haram, let alone collaborate to create it in Osun State. The organisation first condemned the activities of Boko Haram in The Nigerian Tribune on August 9, 2009, titled “No Extremism in Islam”. In addition, on Saturday 18th March, 2012, the organisation held a press conference on Boko Haram evils in the state capital, Osogbo, which had in attendance, the representatives of Osun State Commissioner of Police and Director of State Security Service. The highpoints of the conference were widely covered by the radio stations in the state and prominent newspapers in the country. More specifically, the interview granted by the National President of the organisation, Alhaji Daood Imran Molaasan, was published by The Nigerian Tribune under the title of “No Boko Haram in South-West”, on Saturday, March 24, 2012. We were surprised with the unusual courtesy visit of the Director of State Security Service, Osun State, Mr. Adegboye, ably accompanied by the O/C SSS, Iwo Local Government, Mr. Isaac Ogunmola on 26th March, 2012, around 6pm, who came to appreciate the good contribution of the conference, held on Boko Haram to the peaceful co-existence in Osun State, South-West and Nigeria at large. Besides, The Federal Government should be cautious in reckoning with the unfounded report of existence of Boko Haram in South-West especially Osun State. It is a mere cooked report to create the theory of Boko Haramism in the South-West in order to destabilise the peace in the South-West just as the peace in the North has been found wanton. The Federal Department of State Security (DSS) also needs to know that the clamour for the use of Hijab is not an issue new to the present administration in the state. It has been an issue that Muslims clamour for in the past governments. Even the administration of Olagunsoye Oyinlola witnessed such a clamour from the state Muslim faithfuls which was not resolved before the closure of the administration. Hijab is a universal identity of Muslims and the right to use it is not silent in the constitution. Earlier, the governor has mediated in the issue and administered justice by holding interdenominational meetings with religious leaders in the state to hear their views before the eventual decision by the executive. It is noteworthy to let the public aware that the selection of school uniform in Osun State was made out of the designs shortlisted by officials of the Ministry of Education during the executive council meeting of Wednesday, April 4, 2012, and the council is dominated by Christians. It is not an offence to ask for one’s right (Hijab) that is constitutionally backing. It is a strange information which would not be credible to the right-thinking people of Osun State because a part cannot be accused for the action of a whole. Jama’at Ta’awunil Muslimeen is just a part of the whole of Muslim community in Osun State. What is now the semblance of spearheading the use of Hijab? It is our advice to the Federal Department of State Security (DSS) to embark on intensive investigation in order to obtain the facts on the unfounded allegations about the Jama’at Ta’awunil Muslimeen. The organisation is known for promoting peace and progress of the society, helping the less privileged and promoting good governance in the country. Series of programmes had been held which point to civic responsibility of our organisation to the nation. Among the programmes are: Topic: Global Prejudice and Peaceful Co-existence among Religious Organisations. Guest Speaker: Dr. Eshel Williams Murad of the US Consulate Office, Nigeria. Venue: Iwo Local Government Secretariat Conference Hall. Date: March 19, 2006 Topic: The Role of Islamic Organisations in Civic Engagement. Guest Speaker: Ms Amy Lillis Amanda of the US Consulate Office, Nigeria. Venue: Iwo City Hall, Iwo Date: July 29, 2006 Topic: The Role of Muslim Youth Associations in Extending the Frontiers of Democratic Practices in Nigeria. Guest Speaker: Ms Amy Lillis Amanda of the US Consulate Office, Nigeria. Venue: Iwo City Hall, Iwo. Date: May 27, 2007. Not only that, we have also successfully collaborated with Friedrich Ebert Stiftung Foundation organization on a day workshop for local community in Osun State on August 4, 2009. Topic:Who are to be Chosen come political Dispensation and how peace can be achieved? Lecturers:Professor O.O. Ladipo, Al-Hikmah University, Ilorin. Barrister G.M. Adedeji, Ex-Commissioner for Justice & Attorney General, Osun State. Honourable Ibrahim Imran Akala, The Leader of Iwo Local Government Legislative Council. Chief Sulaiman Adiatu, Chief Oloya of Iwoland (Rep. Of Oluwo of Iwoland). Contributors:The Chairmen of Political Parties in Osun State and other States. Venue:Iwo City Hall Date:30th of May 2010. Moreover, the achievements of the organisation through its departments have spoken loudly about the organisation. Some of which are: Establishment of Twenty-Nine (29) Nursery and Primary Schools throughout the South-West. Establishment of three (3) Secondary Schools Establishment of Diploma in Islamic Studies Affiliated to Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria. Establishment of Darul-Islam Women Education and Vocational Centre Establishment of Al-Qudus Islamic Information Establishment of Asharikatul Islamiyah (Computer Business Centre and Handset Engineering) Establishment of Islamic charity foundation to cater for the poor and the needy. Establishment of registered Al-A’awan Maternity and Health Centre to provide health care for people. Establishment of a government approved hospital for comprehensive health care. ASPIRATIONS OF TA’AWUN Ta’awunu aspires to stop backwardness in education and reduces ignorance in the society. Taawunu aspires to establish Women Empowerment Centre which will be channeled at creating freedom for women i.e. Literacy department; Technical Skill Acquisition department; Education department; Computer Training department; Financial Granting department; Mini-Loan Scheme department etc Ta’awunu aspires for united and strong Nigeria with peaceful and relationship among tribes and religions. Ta’awunu calls for good leadership that can paddle the nation to greater height and act of patriotism among the citizens. Ta’awunu aspires for justice and equity in all states and Nigeria at large without tribal prejudice or religious bigotry. Ta’awunu aspires for freedom of press through objective journalism that will reveal the truth regardless of who hides behind the curtain. Ta’awunu aspires for comfortability of masses by encouraging government to provide employment opportunities and infrastructural facilities. In conclusion, the contribution of our organisation to youth development, self-empowerment and its interest in good governance made it possible for Prince Olagunsoye Oyinlola as the governor of Osun State then to commission our Al-Qudus Islamic Information Centre on 24th December, 2005. If we were a religious extremist, the ex-governor (a Christian) would not have attended our programme. Therefore, it is advisable for the security apparatus and journalists to carry out reliable investigation before publicising any sensitive issue so as not to mislead and misguide the general public. It is clear from all indications that it is a planned attempt to create false image of Jama'at Ta'awunil Muslimeen Society of Nigeria to the people. God forbid! Also, the general public should know that those who get their balanced diet from adulterated information will never allow the truth bearer to blow his trumpet freely.See more |
PDP in Ogun State by Kunle Ologundudu. Remember Kunle Ologundudu during Abacha era? He has something to say about Gbenga Daniel aka Ogidi OLE https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e8UXNv3459s&feature=related |
Do you know that Bowen university was originally called Baptist University, why was the name changed, what happened the year christians brought Prophet Ayorinde and Bishop Potee to Iwo for revival, assuming christians are also violent what would have happened, what happened when christians proposed to build a church at the palace when a mosque already exist there, what happened when the annual egungun festival clashes with ramadan fasting, why was the king and his chiefs shouting for peace on reality TV when another egungun festival clashes with ramadan fasting, why were all public primary and secondary school closed sometimes ago and for how many days were they closed. My brother not only christians are been killed in the North.
Someone already adviced you to go sleep. When did Bowen Uni start, and when did Aregbe come in? Please go to Iwo on a normal afternoon, and see for yourself. The issue of that revival is another thing. We can talk about that on another thread. I will try and get a video cameraman to interview people in Iwo for you to hear what they think. This thing is so painful because our fathers lived peacefully, but some foreigners with another agenda are trying to spoil our land. Bowen university was built on free land from Iwo indigenes, mostly Muslim. No security alert was issued then. Baptist College and Baptist teaching College staffs lived like kings in Iwo. The indigenes never hurt them. Why them will you now label them terrorists because they are Muslims? |
hehehehe. Alakisa n jo loru, ope oya, ile a mo lola. (The one wearing rag who dances in the night should know that no matter how long, it will soon be dawn) |
1. So he must also RENAME them. If you know Iwo very well then you will know Baptist High School, you know the number of buildings in that school, so he will demolish all of it, another allegation, waste of public fund. 2. We don't want to wait till that time. Comes, and please how will all students of both primary and secondary schools be wearing the SAME uniform. 3. Confirm please. 4. We are not talking about PDP killing ACN, we are talking about Aregbe's behaviour and extremism. 5. My brother you might be a baptist and you won't know this fact if you don't go to church regularly, but I doubt if you are a Baptist, Bowen university was originally called Baptist university and the sign post has already been placed, some documents has also been printed, they decided to name it Bowen (Thomas Jefferson Bowen) not because they want to originally but to allow peace reign, to make the school stay in Iwo rather than moving it to Ogbomoso or other bidders and in order to retain the abbreviation BUI. Who said Aregbe is the cause, you said Tawun is nothing to worry about, so I asked you some questions about them.
Awhy.com, you are not being straightforward. Iwo is a predominantly Muslim town. A chunk of the land on which Bowen uni is built was donated FREELY by Muslims. The town has accomodated the uni with all its hands. NEVER has there been any discrimination of Muslims in Iwo town. The trouble that started about Ijab has been sorted through dialogue. However, PDP is using people like you to inflame the situation. It will not work. Where were you when Oyinlola was killing people just few years ago? Aregbe is not extreme, neither is he a passive Muslim you can just push around. I am proud of his actions and stands. If you cannot see the plot, I will tell you! They want to use federal might to remove Aregbe and put a PDP thug back in. Only that way can PDP comeback. They have never won any balloted elections in Yorubaland |
Nigerians have a chance to turn the table on PDP this time around. They have tried to use religion to cause trouble. I think what the Christian Association on Nigeria in Osun state is doing is very good indeed. They have seen through this set-up. I think PDP is doing so much to kill itself in Yorubaland. By the time the dust settles, PDP will not even win one councillorship position in Osun. Last time, Aregbe was the only Governor to deliver to Ribadu faithfully. What this means is that Aregbe is the new Tinubu. While Lam Adesina, Osoba and Adefarati got carried away by OBJ, Tinubu remained radical. Same thing Aregbe is doing, hence the 'war' declared on him. Think deep my people |
When did religion become an issue in Southwest? WHY my people? WHY? Why will you let PDP disunite us? I have provided video of these desperadoes. They do not want us united because a UNITED Yorubaland will never ever have bloodsuckers. Watch the video of Ladoja's impeachment. The federal government does not want us UNITED. They used federal police with NURTW thugs to unseat a governor. Now they want to use SSS and PDP guys to remove the most radical governor of Yorubaland. Aregbesola has done no wrong. ACN has always been frustrated by Abuja. They reduced monthly allocations when ACN governors came in. OBJ lavished his PDP boys then with enough allocation to steal and steal. Even with this, they did nothing for the people, they instead abused us and bullied us. Yorubaland will never go back to this. PDP is a desperate party. Very soon, they will try to bring Boko Haram to Lagos. These videos are just to wake us all up. I am not a member of any political party, just a citizen like you. Yoruba RONU https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-w75oGldk-U&feature=relmfu |
KwoiZabo: The fundamental questios have not been answered by either aregbe or his followers which are:All these allegations are false! and concorted lies by PDP members trying to gain recognition. It is giving a dog a bad name in order to hang it. What silly correlation does Aregbesola want to have with Gadaffi? He did not impose any Hijab on Osun pupils. Rather, it is overzealous teachers who are trying to cause trouble by banning it. I have put these videos up as a subtle reminder to us all not to get carried away by PDP's latest tricks. No other party in Nigeria engages in so much violence against innocent civilians. Obj supervised looting and killing by Adedibu till Oyo State entered a sorry state. |
Gaddemit!! Are those cutlasses? Those guys were cutting people down with matchetes on a crowded highway?? Did you see that man in brown running around swinging his cutlass? WTH??
Yes it was a terrible day in Ibadan. I escaped by God's grace. It is better we remind ourselves what PDP really does to the masses |
The last video is very sad on many levels. A thug from NURTW actually sat in the House of Assembly chambers and IMPEACHED a governor voted by the people of the state. Obasanjo and PDP wrecked so much havoc in Yoruba land. How people forget so easily |
How Ladoja was impeached. The story of PDP in South West Nigeria. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h0Tt4f9c974&feature=related |
Incase Yorubas have forgotten what PDP means, another reminder below: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-oGtu-y6hDE |
The security report issued against the governor of Osun state is a farce. It is cooked up to try and get PDP back to Osun state. This will not happen again by God's grace. Amin. Below is a video of what the good people of Osun state faced under Oyinlola. When next you wonder why Aregbesola is behaving as he is, watch this video. And about the Tawun group, PDP is trying to demonize a group that protected Aregbesola when he was a target for assasination. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N-CnY_VjXlQ |
Beaf: Here are a few of the accusations that Aregbesola failed to address (because they are true).1. Wrong 2. False 3. Which strange flag? In his office, its still green white green 4. Lie 5. Damn lie 6. Statistics |
