Does any Ekiti person know the methodology for this kind of distribution? Do Fayose's boys just drive to an area full of malnourished people and start distributing rice and 500 naira, with camera steady? Do they go from town to town, with prior announcements? Do they distribute to all people who turn up? Or they distribute for a certain number of people, and leave after taking picture? This thing looks like another Fayose scam, just like the poultry with no chicken poo. |
The U17 Women National Team, Flamingoes have shown a rich vein of form as preparations hit new gear for the 5th FIFA U17 Women’s World Cup starting in Jordan on September 30. Coach Bala Nikyu’s girls displayed ferocious form with three wins in three successive friendly matches in Abuja between Tuesday and Saturday. On Tuesday, Sure Babes FC of Ilorin were the victims as Captain Rasheedat Ajibade, the team’s top scorer, hit two goals in a 4-0 win at the NFF/FIFA Goal Project pitch, in a match watched by NFF General Secretary, Dr. Mohammed Sanusi, NFF Technical Director, Mr. Bitrus Bewarang and Assistant Director (Technical), Siji Lagunju. Cynthia Aku and Patricia Innocent got the other goals. On Thursday, the Flamingoes pipped Confluence Queens of Kogi 1-0 at the same venue, thanks to Cynthia Aku, who slotted in after the Queens’ goaltender failed to deal appropriately with a fierce shot by Captain Ajibade. Against QFL (Queens Football League) All-Stars on Saturday, the Flamingoes went goal-wire, hitting the opposition 8-1. Ajibade was on song with a hat–trick, while Folashade Ijamilusi and Chidinma Okeke hit a brace each, and Cynthia Aku scored once. Coach Nikyu said: “These matches have shown us exactly where we are, and we will continue to work on our weak areas. Our target is to ensure that the girls play as a team, have good control of the ball and achieve better coordination on the field. “We are also working on their confidence level. They need to approach each game with a level of confidence, without under-rating any team. Certainly, we are going to play more friendly matches before the World Cup.” Nigeria will tackle Brazil, England and 2008 champions Korea DPR in the group stage at the 5th FIFA U17 Women’s World Cup, taking place in Jordan on September 30 to October 21, 2016. The Flamingoes’ first match is against Brazil on 1st October, Nigeria’s Independence Day. https://www.channelstv.com/2016/08/28/flamingoes-good-form-world-cup/ |
Flamingoes won a friendly against a local team 8-1 yesterday. |
UNILAG should be proud they have a student like this. The lopsided state of the nation is evident here. A boy who should be celebrated is rusticated. |
The olympics is over and I will sign out of this thread by picking some athletes who can win gold medal at next olympics for Nigeria. If Nigeria can invest in these people, then we are sure to win medals from them in the next 4 years: 1. Ese Brume (too obvious) 2. Divine Oduduru 3. Aminat Olowora (long distance prospect) 4. Odun Adekuroye 5. Margaret Bamgbose 6. Patience Okon George 7. Super falcons 8. Efe Ajagba |
Nigerian christians know this scam, but are happy to fall for it. The church is now a place to show yourself rather than to worship God. Women try to outdress themselves to church everyweek to make a statement. The ones who can expose small cleavage gets photographed for the church's facebook page. The glossy pix are more gratifying than any sermons delivered. The pastors vibrate on philosophy and less on the words of God. Christians go to churches where they are told what they want to hear, not necessarily what can change them. That COZA guy is still scamming his sheep and they are happily celebrating him. |
Our olympics story ends today. A nation of 160 million people cannot produce a top 3 in any sports at the olympics. Damning! |
chrisooblog:Exactly why I wanted the football team to lose. It makes no sense to celebrate a bronze medal after all we put in. |
The skies smiled at us. We qualified for the relay finals. USA out. We may medal... |
BTW. Doreen Amata also out at 1.89m. Not making the finals. Up next relay... |
It looks like Nigeria will not win any medals at this Olympics confirmed. Everything that can go wrong has gone wrong even before they left Nigeria. Football team will complete the heartbreak on Saturday. If the trend is anything to go by, then dream team will lose to Honduras. |
Match Over. Odun lost. I think the Swede will make the final, so maybe Odun can come back for bronze....maybe ![]() |
Odun almost lost the match in the first minute. She managed to just stay in it. She's 6-0 down. Her back was on the mat. Not good. |
Odun comes in singing as always. Swedish girl looks focussed. Match starts. |
Mozia out, Doreen still hanging on. Im switching to the wrestling. Odunayo fighting soon. Relay team is the last standing athletics event for Nigeria. |
Doreen Amata just jumped 1.85. Blessing Oborodudu is out of wrestling too. Mozia with one last chance. The forces are against naija. |
Our topmost shot put thrower is struggling to even register one legal throw. Doreen Amata cannot seem to jump past 1.85m. Two Nigerians on their way out of qualification round. Depressing. |
He surely is naive, but quite harmless. He captioned the pix 'iku ya ju esin', i.e better to die than to be disgraced. I dont think he was referring to GEJ in any way. What he said is associated with suicide, so I will think he should be on suicide watch himself. |
lusen:we have only one relay team in Rio. They will do well to even make the final. No medals expected in athletics except Mozia devies his trend and throws a PB in the shot put. Our best medal hope is now very shaky too. Odunayo has been handed a very tough draw against Sofia Mattsson. The two fought just last year and it was Sofia who beat Odunayo by putting her back to the floor. Things change, but Odun has to surpass her best. See the fight they had last year: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aselBUomqtc She doesnt look unbeatable though, but Odun's chances arent too big. |
I have travelled round the world, and I can say Ibadan compares with most cities that have a soul. I havent been to Ibadan for the past 2 years and have not lived longer than 100 days in Ibadan for the past 10 years. Things have changed, but the landmarks are unmissable. |
misterh:Challenge near glo office. Same area different angles. If you want to take good shots, go to Moniya, Odogbo barracks side |
misterh:Arisekola Mosque G Allen |

All Nigerians OUT of wrestling for today (except if their conquerors get to the final, then they can fight for bronze). Up next, dream team vs Germany (a win guarantees a medal) Tomorrow: My only genuine medal hope for Nigeria Odun is fighting. If she loses, then it will be 8 straight years since Nigeria last won an olympic medal. By the next olympics, it will be 12 years since a country as big as Nigeria won a medal of any colour at Olympics. Or can Ese Brume repeat what Okagbare did in 2008? |
Aminat down to 4-2. She's trying too hard to pin her opponent. Now the fight is scrappy, head knocking. Heading to 2nd period. Aminat down. |
I must say that the first 2 Nigerians who lost are the weakest in the team. Aminat Adeniyi and Odun Adekuroye are highly rated. Aminat is 2-0 up against a Finn who is highly rated. Odun fights tomorrow. That is our biggest medal hope. |
CFCman:2nd Nigerian wrestler out. Horrible wrestling by Nigeria so far. They might come back for repechage. |
First Nigerian wrestler out. She might come back to fight for bronze if her opponent gets to final. The beauty of wrestling. |
And these are the people who stereotype others as 'smelling aboki', 'dirty ofe manu'. Delivering faeces right on the open like this. If I were from Enugu, I wont comment on this forum for the next 7 days out of shame. |
Ajagba out. Okagbare fails to make Olympic finals for the first time since 2008 when she first went to the Olympics. Today, our women wrestlers carry our fainting medal hopes. The football team can secure a medal if they beat Germany. |
