I saw a picture of the girl's training and I was a bit more optimistic than I was before. Good to see players like Tessy Biawo, Adeboyejo, etc. They are good quality players. I also think Ajibade will start if she makes the team.

Unfortunately, years of quackery means that we are left institutions manned with people not fit for purpose. You must be really stupid or sloppy to be convicted on a case brought by the EFCC because it is clear they are a bunch of idiots. Olodo. If anything, the Nigerian delegates were disciplined. That is not the type of table to bring any serious paper. It was meant for food/drinks, and it should have been kept for that. You dont take serious papers to such a table, and I assume the Germans were trying to put away the papers.

I don't think Nigeria has any world class presidential candidate that I know of, but in terms of being better than buhari I think they are quite available.
Peter Obi- Vey efficient and Lean govt, frugal with emphasis on Maximizing generated Resource, and with a Good Economic Sense.
Willie Obiano- Still watching Him, but he Seem to have a good head on his shoulders when it comes to utilizing resources, progressive ideas. and citizen welfare. Anambra state has increased salaries to workers even in the midst of recession, with increase in IGR.
Sullivan Chime- A bit sickly last I heard, but he is decent with respect to Nigerin standard. Enugu's best governor till date and probably the reason why the state is one of Nigeria's most habitable places.
The above candidates just need a decent Vice president and you get an infinitely better pair than what you currently have.

Alhamdullilah! Buhari's carrot and stick approach is working very well. I see the hand of OBJ, Salkida, and Senator Sani in this. To all those involved, I pray that you will not go through what the Chibok parents have gone through. Amin.

This is a very cheering news.

A few comments:
1. The coach impressed me with his game management. This is typical of Germans. The super eagles were not running around like headless chickens and were purposeful in defence and attack.I saw the coach constantly wave on Moses Simon to drive in rather than cross in when his crosses werent finding Ideye.
2. Iheanacho and Iwobi can take us to Russia.
3. We are in a very enviable position. If we can win our upcoming 2 home games, then we are almost guaranteed to qualify. We will have 9 points, and at least 5 points above our major rivals.
4. We need a striker to compliment our attacking midfield. I will not shy away from using Osimhen as back up to Ighalo.
5. I watched Algeria's match fully and they are a very attacking side. Mahrez was having a very good match and it was Cameroonian keeper who saved the day. We cannot afford to have weak wing backs against Algeria. I think Musa Mohammed should come in.
6. Algerian midfield was quite weak and I see us having plenty joy in the midfield, provided Onazi is disciplined.


Overall, I think our group may actually be easier than I initially feared, provided we win our home matches.

NFF is broke but Amaju Pinnick is dorning designer clothes every time. More attention to stealing, less attention to football.

Mate, this coach is quite numb. It is so glaring to see why the girls wont score. They dont know what to do with the ball in the final 3rd. I dont blame them because at that age, they need firm instructions.
Ajibade cant do all. Shes played as attacking midfielder, winger and main striker, but everytime, she is isolated.

If Nigeria make 2 passes and the third will lead to a goal, then we will not score. I havent seen this team string 3 passes together all tournament. It is that bad.

So I have a bit of free time. Lets see how we can qualify.
1. We MUST beat Korea. Puts us on 4 points, same as Korea. So if it comes to that, Korea may qualify because they have scored more goals, and we would have scored less. BUT if we beat Korea by more than 2 goals margin, then we will qualify, no matter the outcome of the match between England and Brazil.
2. If Brazil beats England, and Nigeria beats Korea by more than 2 goals, then Brazil tops group and Nigeria 2nd.
3. If England beats Brazil, and Nigeria beats Korea by more than 2 goals, then England tops group and Nigeria 2nd.
4. If England and Brazil draw, and Nigeria beats Korea by more than 2 goals, then Nigeria tops the group and Korea 2nd (so far the draw is not up to 3-3).

So it is very simple for the flamingoes. Just beat Korea by 2 goals or more and you will be going to quarter finals. Korea will be very open, so we will have plenty chances, and they will create chances too.

Today we go again. England vs Nigeria.
I expect the game to be physical, so it comes down to the officiating. I watched Cameroon vs Venezuela yesterday and the ref was unkind to the Cameroonians. I expect us to get the same treatment today and we may be out of the tournament before 4pm today.
Whichever way it goes, its been a good exposure for the gals. FIFA is not Africa friendly when it comes to women competition. Its like a cult.

It was especially difficult to play in the second half. The Brazilians were buoyed by the ref and went full on with theatrics. Even very clean tackles earned our girls yellow card, depending on how loud the Brazilians shouted.
I think the England game should be better because surely someone in FIFA will notice this. Also, European female refs seem to be racists whenever they are officiating against African teams. This is not the first time.

Game over. Not a bad game by Nigeria, but the brilliant play by Nigeria was always quenched by the ref. There seems to be a different set of rules when African teams play at these women world cups.
